Excerpts From The Damaged Captain's Log Of The Ship SES 4689

10.15.1668

On this day, we have fixed our fixed our ship, Sontaren Empire Ship 4689, and are able to create logs. As for our previous damage of our ship, it was caused by incoming fire which caused a blind spot, as well as the asteroid that hit us when we accidentally swerved into it.

We have been flung outside our known parameters, and are no longer within the Gar-147 Galaxy.

We have started an inventory of the ship to see how long we can go.

On this day, we have set the ship's planetary readers to alert us to the nearest planet with sufficient qualities to allow us to resupply, if we do not decide to land there.

We have finished inventory. Please see the log by the main supply cabinet for total inventory. In short, we can make supplies last for several months, as we were less than halfway through our trip to planet 1559 in the Gar-147 Galaxy. The ship holds 50 Sontarens.

May we conquer our new lands, wherever they may be.

05.20.1669

On this day, the ship's planetary readers have alerted us to a planet of sufficient qualities and temperature to support life forms. We have changed course to land on it.

We are in completely uncharted space. However, the galaxy before us is of great brilliance and is bright in the view ports of this ship. It is a twin-centered spiral galaxy, with stars and planetary bodies forming a slight helix shape as they go from one gravitational motion to one of a slightly different spin before getting picked up by the former as they leave the gravitational spin of the latter.

As I, Captain Fehr, have found this galaxy, it is to be called the Fehr Galaxy.

We will be using standard Sontaren protocols, and as such will set ourselves up in a way to take over the planet.

Sontarha!

An inventory of all weapons has been ordered. An inventory of all supplies was ordered as well after it appeared all the ship's crew tried to fit into the same door way at the same time.

Loss of life in not tenable at this point. We have no idea how many soldiers will be required to conquer this galaxy.

We have landed.

Land is appropriately solid to both build on and dig into. Readings of soil fertility is high, which is seen with the large amount of green vegetation.

We have also learned that this planet's sun is detrimental to our health. One of our number went outside during the day time and was found after dark turned to stone. On that note, it is determined that for our continued dwelling on this planet that we must live under cover of the dirt and greenery. Orders have been given to start digging. We dig by the lights from the ship.

06.15.1669

We have met a tall bi-legged being with no economy of design. There are flaps of a thin membrane surrounding the being in multiple layers, underneath is a basic uniform and primitive weapons. It had large round ears, a nose, hair on its head as seen on various species, but was hairless under the membrane and uniform. It was drawn to the light of the ship. The male was knocked on the head, which allowed us to study it. Unfortunately, it awoke during examination, created a bright light with a stick, which pushed all examining him from him twenty feet. It then disappeared.

This might be a puzzling planet to conquer.

The loss of two of our number has again happened, but they were avenged in the death of one of the tall inhabitants.

Two of the tall beings came upon us suddenly, and fired. We were prepared and we were partially successful in victory and succeeded in routing the enemy. One disappeared in the same way that the first one did. The being that we had total victory over was felled by one of the blaster guns and had partial ability in shielding from the blasters.

The being we had total victory over was female, with longer hair, and wore a tougher membrane over her uniform. I assume she was a military type personnel. We were not able to make her weapon work for us, though the stick did have unknown properties that were previously unknown to us. We burnt the body.

We have been tunneling to both make our way across without running into the burning sun and to provide appropriate dwellings for our stay. We are almost finished moving everything underground.

We have made contact with another race of beings. Apparently all species on this planet have visible ears, even the ones beneath the earth. This race had pointy long ears, larger than the large beings above ground, sharp teeth, and long noses. They are also subjugated to the tall beings. They are a warrior people, having lost the war, and now seek dwelling beneath the earth in order to avoid total annihilation. According to readings, they are biologically a cousin race, close enough to be considered part of the Sontaren Empire without being totally subjugated through armed warfare. We will trade with them. We will teach them our weaponry, and they will show us how to live on this new planet.

Bill Weasley pursed his lips. This was an ancient manuscript in an archeological dig that was of grave importance to the goblins. He was carefully leafing through the partially destroyed log. In front of him, in various trays, lay numerous artifacts, such as several of the things they called blasters, which were essentially a muggle-ish wand that could only produce an effect similar to the blasting charm, with a similar side effect in both light generated and impact on afore mentioned light hitting a target.

Based on what he had seen in various other places; such as in some wizarding museums, his training, and other traces of goblin history; these were the famed beginning of goblins having wands.

There had been that infamous Halibar the Horrendous, a Dark Lord of over a hundred years ago, that had treated with the goblins and found that various of their members could use wizarding magic, and had taught them both how to make wands and the magic the wands were used for. Of course, the goblins had taken the other spells that they had learned and made wands with those spells like the blasters for those of their members that had no magic. Of course, once they had figured that out, they had gone to war with the wizards once more.

Halibar had died in that series of engagements.

It was interesting to note, though, that the idea of muggle wands to arm even the unmagical of their race had not come from on planet.

They had found pieces of the ship, and since the curse breakers had cleared it, the Unspeakables were swarming the place like the flies almost.

The end of the Sontarens as a potential enemy had happened within the decade after they had landed. Sontarens were high speaking dumb idiots who were easily lured onto a grassy field, where the men and women of the pair of nearby villages had enclosed them. They were sitting ducks when the sun came up, and with that, the whole tribe had basically been exterminated as they turned to stone. The villagers had taken to dumping their refuse into the Sontaren mines, turning the site into both an offense to the former crew, and preserving the minute of the day to day life in the time period. The Sontaren remnants had intermarried with the goblins, leaving some families even to this day sensitive to sunlight.

Of course, the reason he was here was because some of the trash was cursed.
