"Did you tell him about Gasper?"

"I think that was the main thing I was supposed to tell him. Although I also told him that he shouldn't worry, but you know how he is..." The Cadre concluded with a small smile, knowing how and how much Issei cared about his loved ones.

A smile that Azazel didn't overlook, so his annoyed airs returned to him.

Gasper pulled the blankets tightly around him after remembering Tannin's words. He hadn't given him the proper attention at the time, but after all that happened there was only one thing he could do.

"I know what you're thinking. Asgard is going through a very dark time." Gasper heard the voice of the old man coming from the doorway, seeing that it was Odin himself. "Well, it's only natural that this is going on. After all, no one would take news of the end of the world as natural, don't you think?" The King of Asgard stood to one side of the door, watching as the half-vampire made the greatest possible effort to settle into bed.

"Thank you for taking care of me these days, and thank you for saving me from..." Gasper's tone trailed off, once again remembering everything that happened recently.

He didn't know which affected him more. Issei's death had certainly hit him, but to be betrayed by his own comrades that you would give your life to in order to save them was not something to take lightly either.

"You should thank Azazel, he was the one who saved you." Odin clarified calmly. "For now you'd better rest until your body recovers. In a few days we have an important meeting, and we all want you to be in top condition for what comes next."

"What's next? Aren't the Demons supposed to have ended any hope that the Apocalypse can be averted?" Gasper inquired with great disbelief and bewilderment at the words of the God, who smiled at such words.

The old man clarified, then stopped rubbing his beard as he focused a much harder gaze on Gasper. "As you're already sensing, the fewer people who know about Issei, so much better."

"I understand perfectly." Gasper nodded instantly with energy.

Said energy lagged quite a bit behind compared to the one he presented next when he focused his gaze on Issei with great excitement.

"Can you tell me everything that happened?!" The half-vampire exclaimed with great excitement.

Apparently, the permanent memory of the betrayal he had suffered disappeared momentarily when he saw that his master and best friend was alive.

"I think that's something I definitely can't and don't want to go into detail on." Issei replied practically instantly, drawing Gasper's attention quite a bit.

"Can you at least tell me what kept you so busy?" Asked the half vampire with much interest.

Before Issei could explain, the door was suddenly and loudly opened.

There appeared a Valkyrie with teary eyes, who could only freeze when she saw how a certain brown man was sitting on a chair in front of the half-vampire. Silence reigned on both sides, as the men were shocked at such an intrusion, while the woman was completely shocked.

Rossweisse's trembling hands covered her lips for a few seconds as a silent cry broke from her eyes, a very fast and deep cry that seemed to have no end.

But unlike all her recent cries, she could now only feel unprecedented happiness and relief.

"ISSEI!"

Meanwhile, Gasper could only look from one side to the other with absolutely no comprehension of what was going on.
