Disclaimer: I do NOT own The Chosen. Dallas Jenkins does and I am NOT making any money off of this. I only own my Original Character: Leah. And none of the events with Leah happened in the Bible. Thank you and God Bless you.
AN: I know. It's been 100 years. I have just been struggling with writer's block, but I think I'm over it.
AU of what would have happened if Jesus and Leah had never made up during the wedding.
Leah couldn't believe she was doing this. She couldn't believe that she was walking all the way back home in the dark without her brothers or friends. It was stupid, but because of her circumstances, she had no choice. Her brothers were having the time of they're lives and she was the one who got kicked in the teeth. Again. Two guys before her had, so why should this be any different.
Jesus had felt different. Felt as though he could have been the one. And she couldn't stand to be around him now, knowing that he rejected her.
It didn't take her long to get back to town and she stopped in the middle of the empty street, trying to decide where to go. She hadn't had that many friends besides the boys. Come to think of it, she never really had any friends her own age. She thought to herself a moment more before just deciding to go back home. Luckily she had her own room.
She walked around the side of the house now, finding a stool, placing it under her window. She climbed onto the ledge of the window and hopped into the house like some professional athlete. Luckily she hadn't woken her parents.
She wiped her eyes as she walked to her mirror, picking up a brush. She looked at herself in the mirror for a moment before shaking her head, banishing all of her self hate as she placed her brush back quietly on a table before walking to her bed, curling up under the covers as she fell into an instant sleep.
Upon awaking the next day, it was well past noon and she heard many voices outside her door, including a very familiar one. As she lay there, her heart broke again remembering the night before, so very quickly she got out of bed and crept back over to her window, leaping over it once more before running to the stream.
But before she got there, she noticed the playset that Abigail said a nice man had made for her. Curious, she walked closer to it and knelt down to take a better look at it. And that was when she noticed the writing.
Abigail,
I know you can read. You are very special. I did not come only for the wealthy.
Tears filled her eyes once more as she gazed at the beautifully crafted horses and the stable that they were in. Jesus had done this and she was selfish. Jesus had come into this world for more than just her and here she was upset over the fact that he rejected her. She had to go home. She knew she couldn't face him, but she had to be with her parents. Right now she needed to be in her Abba's arms. She was his little girl and no matter how old she got, she would still need him.
By this point she hadn't realized she had been sitting there for a long time and it had started raining. Her hair was stringy and wet. Her clothes soaked. She shivered as well, coughing as she suddenly felt warm. She deserved to be sick though. She deserved to suffer. She was a selfish girl. At least that's what she thought of herself.
She walked home slowly, knowing she was already sick, so she didn't care how much she dragged her feet. It had gotten dark by the time she got home and this time she used the front door. She was met with five familiar, worried faces as she walked into the house now. Her stomach flopped now and before anyone could say anything, she started to get nauseated as she rushed over to a bowl that was sitting on the counter, instantly sick.
Leah could feel someone's hands pull her hair away from her face as more tears came. She bit back a sob. She didn't turn around. She just stood there, staring blankly out the window as she wiped her mouth with a rag. She turned around finally, expecting to see her Abba, but instead she looked right into Jesus' worried face. All she could do was gaze into those beautiful eyes as he wiped away her tears and felt her forehead.
"She's pretty warm" he said softly to her parents and brothers, his eyes never leaving her tear filled ones as she placed her hands on his chest out of instinct. But she snapped out of it before walking past him and her family quietly, making everyone worry more.
The next few minutes were a blur. She had gone into her room, changing out of her dress and into her nightgown before quickly drying her hair. She then curled up under her covers with no intention of going back to everyone. It seemed like an eternity that she lay there, staring out the window silently before she heard the door open.
She shut her eyes quickly now as whoever it was entered the room. She felt a hand run down her cheek as she felt someone sit next to her. The hand that was on her cheek, moved into her now damp hair. "I know you're awake Leah."
Her eyes snapped open to see Jesus sitting next to her as he placed a damp rag on her forehead, trying to get the fever to go down. His expression was unreadable now and she avoided looking at his face, playing with the fabric of her blanket, gazing at the pattern as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
"Leah look at me" he said softly, but unlike everyone else who he had said that to, she didn't lift her head.
Jesus sighed and lifted her chin up so that she was gazing into his eyes once more. "What were you thinking? Running away like that?"
"I was thinking I had to get away from you" she said, tears filling her eyes once more as she lifted his hand off of her forehead before turning on her side to face the wall, closing her eyes once more as if he would go away if she ignored him enough.
But he didn't leave her alone. The next thing she felt was a kiss on the side of her head as Jesus laid down next to her, wrapping an arm around her waist. What was he doing? Trying to confuse her?
"I'm not trying to confuse you Leah" he whispered softly against her cheek. She could feel his beard tickle her skin now along with his breath that gave her goosebumps. "I made a mistake and I hope you can forgive me."
"I forget that you know what I am thinking" she said softly, sighing gently as she turned to face him now, tears streaming down her face once more as she hesitantly placed a hand on his cheek.
He wiped her tears away, pushing her hair back behind her ear. "I'm so sorry Leah. I shouldn't have said what I said to you. I just don't know how long I will be around now and I just don't want you to be hurt if we don't last long."
Leah leaned forward slowly one of her hands clutching his tunic as she connected her lips to his, kissing him gently before pulling back, gazing into Jesus' eyes.
"And that's my decision to make Jesus. I know you have a mission here on earth, but that doesn't change the fact that I care about you. I fell so hard for you that it was crazy and unexpected, but I don't regret it and despite all the hardships that may come with it, I know that you are the one for me."
He smiled softly and pulled her closer, placing his hand on her forehead as he healed her fever before kissing her once more. This time a little more deeply as she wrapped her arms around his neck, never wanting to be separated from him now. "Please don't let me go" she whispered softly against his lips as he rubbed his nose against her's gently, one of his hands moving through her beautiful curly hair.
"Then please don't run from me anymore Leah" he said softly.
"I won't" she whispered as he kissed her again as if they were making up for lost time.
She slid her hands down his chest now as he caught them in his own, never breaking the kiss. She was an angel to him.
"I'm going to try this one more time Leah" he whispered softly, rubbing her soft hands with his thumbs as he gazed into her eyes.
"Follow me" he whispered, his lips ghosting against her cheek as she snuggled closer to him, leaning into his touch.
"I will" she whispered softly as he kissed her once more.
