Astral's POV:

"As... Astra... Astral. Can you hear me?" I hear a voice calling out to me as I open my eyes. Where am I?

"Doctor, how is he?" This time, a feminine voice called out.

"Your Majesties, um well…"

"Stop it with the stuttering. Tell us the truth."

"W-well, um acc-according to the brain scans that I took, His Highness..."

"Spit it out, doctor! What is wrong with my son?"

"Now now Eliphas, calm down,"

"Please, continue doctor."

"Yes, um... according to the brain scans that I took, His Highness has... amnesia." He said fearfully whispering the last word so quietly that I had to strain to hear it.

His highness? As in like royalty? Who am I and where is this place? Although, judging by the ceiling, it looks like I'm in a pretty wealthy place. Just what happened? Why am I here? Why is it so loud?

"Ugh," I sit up slowly as I wince at the bright lights. What is going on? Why do I feel like I was hit by a truck? "I feel strange."

"Astral, you're awake!" The female with pale blue hair and gold eyes holds out her arms.

(Pulse)

"Argh," My hand clutches my head with a wince.

(Flash):

…The scent of blood fills the air as screams of horror flood my ears…

(Flash):

…A boy rocking back and forth curled up in the fetal position…

(Flash):

"Mommy, Daddy, where are you?" A small girl huddled against the boy shivering with tears streaming down her face.

(Flash)

W-What was that? My body trembles as the images assault my brain. T-That place… the scent of blood… the screams… what on earth?!

"Son?"

I gulp backing away from the two of them. "S-Stay back." Breathe. I got to breathe.

"Now now son, stop playing around and give your mother a hug." The man with jet black hair and mismatched eyes walk towards me. Who are they? What's a hug?

"D-Don't come any closer," I grab a pillow off the bed holding it up in a feeble attempt to defend myself. Are they dangerous?

"Astral-"

"Who are you? Where am I and what am I doing here?" I ask as they glance at each other with frowns.

"Son," The man said as he tries to get closer. "Do you not recognize us?"

"Stay right there and do not come any closer," My hands trembling clutching the pillow tightly backing away towards the wall.

"Okay okay, we're staying right here. We're not moving towards you." They said with their arms in surrender. Okay… calm down. I got to stay calm.

Just who are they? And why does my head hurt so badly? Did I hit it on something? Why… My eyes drift towards the pillow in my hands. Why can't I remember anything? Is there something wrong with me?

A flick of light bounces off the mirror as I lock gaze with my reflection. Woah… I have different colored eyes. I wonder why that is the case though. I touch my face gently, blinking every so often. So, this is… me.

The door creaks open as I snap my head towards it. My body tenses as someone tackle me with their arms around my waist. What is this torture?

"My love," She said in a gentle tone. "You're finally awake! You've been unconscious for a week now." Did I hear her correctly? A week?!

She sniffles while wrapping her arms around my waist tighter. "Don't scare me like that again, you hear me?" Her love? I blink. Should I say something? Who is she?

"Uh… miss?" I finally said after a couple of minutes of debating as she looks up. My eyes slightly widen as my heart beats faster. Her eyes… How on earth are her eyes so beautiful?

I blink a couple of times, remove her arms from me, stepping back. I got to be cautious. Who knows if she will harm me or not.

She sports a confused expression. "My love?"

Did she just call me 'my love'? "Who… are you?"

She tilts her head in confusion. "You of all people should know who I am, darling." Darling? I narrowed my eyes at her. Hmm… why is she calling me by pet names?

I shake my head slowly and increase the distance between us. "Do I know you?" I reiterated as a hurt expression flickers on her face.

A laugh escapes her lips as she waves her hand dismissively. "I never knew you were so good at jokes."

Joke? Does she think I'm joking? "Why do you think I'm joking?"

"You're doing this to get me back on something, aren't you?"

Huh? "Get you back at what?"

She shrugs. "I don't know but don't joke like that."

"I honestly don't know you."

The dark-haired beauty rolls her eyes. "Haha, very funny."

"I'm serious," I said calmly. "Who are you?"

Her expression changes to a serious one as she locks eyes with me. "You of all people should know who I am."

I should? "I don't we have ever met, miss?"

Her fist clenches as the door open and enters more beings. "Stop referring to me as if we are strangers."

But we are strangers though. "But we are strangers though," I respond as an expression of disbelief crosses her face.

Her eyes bore into mine. I can see tears threatening to fall as she breathes deeply not breaking the staring contest between us.

"You're lying. You can't just forget everything about us! You just can't!"

Forget… everything… about… us…?

"Erm… what about us… am I forgetting?" I ask after a minute of silence as more tears fall down her cheeks.

"Why are you so heartless?" The woman in front of me shouts as I inch back towards the wall. "How can you forget me? Our times together, our relationship… how can you just forget all of that?!"

Relationship? Time together? Did I know her? But… why can't I seem to remember anything?

"Miss," I raise my hands in front of my chest in a surrender motion as my eyes drift towards the door. Hm, how fast is my running speed? Actually, I'm at a disadvantage considering I don't know this place. "I really don't know you." I glance at the three individuals nearby. Should I run for it? What if these beings are bad? What if they were the reason why I couldn't remember anything?

My feet slowly back towards the double doors as the black haired beauty approaches me. She was yelling so that means she's going to harm me in someway but… Moisture drips down her cheeks. "Do you not remember me, Astral?"

Astral? I'm assuming that's my name however… who names a kid Astral? Couldn't my parents pick a more normal name? Not that I don't like it but it's just… not a name you stumble across.

"Don't step any closer," I gulp as I glance at the doors once more. Let's see… what are the chances of me making it out alive? Probably 50 if I'm a fast runner. "I'm serious. Don't take another step."

My heart rate increases as I clench my fists. It's now or never. I immediately yank the doors open clutching my head because of the blinding light. Okay… I just need to run.

"Son!"

"Quick, catch him!"

Drat! A hiss escapes my lips as my legs tremble. Why aren't my legs working?

(Crash)

"Ow!"

Falling? During a time like this?! I glance back at the room. No time to think. I have to get out of here!

"Your Highness," My eyes widen as a maid stares at me in concern. "Are you alright?"

Your Highness? As in royalty? These beings are crazy!

"G-Get away from me!" My arms push me from the ground as I notice an open window. I have to escape this no matter what! But… is it really worth it jumping out a window?

"There he is!"

Oh no…

"Stop him!"

Every fiber of my being trembles as I cautiously hop on the ledge. A wave of nausea hits me like a ton of bricks as I clutch the frame. Ok, now I just have to-

"Your Highness, what are you doing? Get down from there-"

"S-Stay away."

A bunch of beings run up towards me with their arms up.

"Son, let's calm down and think shall we?"

"You…" I point at the man with the mismatched eyes and the others beside him. "All of you… don't take another step or else I'll jump."

"Don't!" The woman with pale blue shouts as tears fall down her cheeks. "Ok, we won't take another step towards you. Just please," Her voice cracks as my chest suddenly clenches. "Don't do anything reckless."

Why… why do I feel so uncomfortable when I see her cry? I shake my head. No. This is not a time for these thoughts. If I actually jump… considering the height… I'll be lucky if I get a broken leg!

"I want answers." My eyes narrow at the beings below me. "Who are you? Why am I here? Are you the ones responsible for everything?"

"Astral," The man with the mismatched eyes speaks up after a moment. "Come down and I promise, we'll answer any questions you-"

"Now. I want answers right now." I glare at him as I grip the window frame tighter. "Who are you? What's your motive in bringing me here?"

The man below me lets out a breath. "You're my son and as to why you're here. Well, this is your home."

I blink at his words. I'm his… son? He's joking, right? We don't even look alike! And I live here?! This place is gigantic! What is he, a millionaire or something?

"You're my… father?"

He nods as I burst out laughing. "Hahaha! You honestly think I would believe that? We don't even look alike!" A scowl forms on my face. "If you want to come up with a lie, do a better job of it."

"I'm not lying! You are really-"

"Can it whoever you are." I glance at the sun shining above. "Tell me, why have you captured me?"

"Captured? Son, we didn't-"

"You live here!"

"Nonsense. I refuse to believe I live in such a lucrative place." Then again… it would be nice to be wealthy. Plus, the walls are made of crystal! How cool is that?! It's so sparkly!

"Astral," Amethyst eyes stare into mine as my heart beats faster. Huh… why is my heart growing unsteady without stimulation? "We are not going to harm you."

"Why should I believe you?"

"Think about it, if we were going to harm you, why would we not want you to jump from the window?"

She actually has a point. Why would they bother stopping me if they want me dead? But then again… this could all just be a ruse.

"Then who are you? What's your name?"

"My name is Liliana." Finally, I get a name around here!

"What's your relationship with me?"

"You honestly don't remember me?" An audible whisper escapes her pink lips.

"Exactly what am I supposed to be remembering?" If I met such a stunning woman before, undoubtedly I would have remembered her face.

"We practically grew up together." A mutter rings through my ears. "Yet now you can't even remember me?"

I tilt my head as a thought flies into my mind. Grew up together? As in… My eyes narrow at her figure. Is she my…

(Pulse)

I clutch my head with a hiss as a headache penetrates my skull. Ow! What on earth? My vision grows hazy as I shake my head rapidly. "You…"

Grew up together?

"You are…"

"Do you remember?"

(Flash):

"I love you." A woman pecks a guy on the cheek as his arms wrap around her waist, pulling her in closer.

(Flash)

Love? What's that? No… hold on. Was that a memory? Who was that woman? Why was her face blurred? I blink at the dark haired woman before me. Gorgeous amethyst eyes stare into mine as my eyes narrow. I wonder…

"Lady Liliana," I point an index finger at her. "Are you my… sister?"

Her eyes widen as she stares into my eyes. Tears drip down her cheeks as she shuts her eyes. A hand covers her mouth as a sob rings throughout the hallway.

What's with that reaction?

"Lucky!" A woman with aquamarine yells with an expression of disbelief on her face. "How could you have mistaken her for me?"

"Wait," My eyes drift to the dark haired woman who is being consoled by two other beings, to the aquamarine haired lady. "I really do have a sister?"

"Goodness gracious!" A hand facepalms her face with a groan. "Yes. I'm your twin sister, Astrana."

Huh… go figure. That was just a guess. But… these beings may be lying. However, why do I get the feeling they are telling the truth? Their expressions…

"Ok," My eyes drift to the dark haired woman once more. "But… if she's not my sister… who is she?"

"Really?" The golden eyed lady crosses her arms. "There is no way you don't remember her. She's your-"

"Astrana," A voice interrupts her as she lets out a deep breath. "Let me handle this."

Her purple eyes stare into mine as her fist clench. "Besides your sister, w-who do you think I am to you?"

"Care to give me a hint?"

"We've been together since we were little. You're the one who taught me how to defend myself."

What am I supposed to do with that information? I…

"Do we have a master student relationship?"

She blinks placing a hand under her chin. "I mean… that was a long time ago. I'd say we did but not now."

So we did have a professional relationship. Hm… if she's not my sister, does that mean she's my friend? However… why did my so called sister react so strongly to me not remembering her? If she's just indeed a friend, there would be no reason for her to react as such.

"This is plainly a guess so don't get offended." My eyes lock with hers. "Were we…" Friends? No. Something tells me… "Were we more than… friends?"

A gasp radiates from her lips as her eyes shimmer brightly.

Looks like that's it. Huh… no wonder she reacted so strongly towards my words.

"You…" Drops of tears run down her cheeks. "How did you…"

I shrug. "Considering her strong reaction," My eyes drift to the golden eyed lady. "I doubt if you were a friend of mine, she would react so harshly against my claim."

"S-So, who do you think I am?"

"You're my best friend, right?" That would be the most optimal choice. Besides, what else could she be to me?

The woman blinks rapidly sniffling. "You… think I'm you're best friend?"

"Are you not?"

"Of course she's not, you heartless jerk" A blonde lady shouts balling her fists at me. "Do you honestly not remember her? She's your betrothed!"

Betrothed…? My eyes blink at her then drift back to the woman below me. What is that? Something other than a friend?

"Pardon?"

"She's your fi-"

"Maria!" A voice shouts as she looks at her. "That's enough."

"But Lily! He-"

"Didn't I say I would handle this?" A breath escapes her lips as she shuts her eyes for a moment.

They're hiding something…

"Ah," A laugh rings throughout my ears. "Yea, of course, we're friends."

"Lily, why are you-"

"Right girls? I'm his best friend."

They glance at each other as I raise a brow. "Uh…"

Who is she really? My eyes narrow as I grip the window frame tighter. "Do you have any evidence to back up your claims?"

"Are you saying you don't trust us?"

"Exactly." My eyes bore into hers. "This is the first time I have seen any of you. I think I have reasons to remain wary."

"As you should but," Her feet approaches me. "Wouldn't it be better to just talk this out?"

"That's what I've been doing."

"I mean without you threatening to jump from a window."

"So?" I glance at the grass below with a gulp. "You seem to have a problem with this."

"I'm worried for your safety."

Worried for my safety?

I raise a brow. "Why? I don't understand why you all are worried. Weren't you the ones who caused my memory loss?"

"I-"

"Besides, how do I know you're not lying? For all I know, you could've captured me from a faraway town to torture and do experiments on."

Experiments… A cold sensation causes my body to shudder. That word…

(Flash):

"No!" A boy struggles against the restraints on his arms and legs. "Stop!"

A tiny needle comes into view with an ominous bluish reddish color. The boy squirms as tears fall from his eyes. "No! Please! Stop!"

"Mommy! Daddy! Help!"

(Flash)

My eyes immediately widen as my vision wavers. What… A wave of nausea lurches from my stomach as I feel a wet sensation dripping from my eyes. Huh?

"What are you saying? We would never harm you-"

"Then what? Am I supposed to believe I live here? That you two are my parents? That I have a sister?" My voice raises as something snaps in my chest. "Am I supposed to just believe everything you are telling me right now when I have never seen you or have no memory of you?"

"Son, we don't expect you to immediately believe us." The woman with the pale blue hair places her hands on her chest. "We just want you to not put yourself in danger-"

"Why would any of you care if I live or die?" I pant as my heart rate increases. What on earth? "I don't know any of you so why would you care? You're just a couple of strangers to me!"

"How many times do we have to say it? We're your parents."

"Proof. I need evidence." My head throbs as I clutch the side of my head. What is happening to me? "You people… you're insane. You are all crazy."

"Astral-"

"Back away. Back away from me."

I mutter as my heart thumps in my chest. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down! My arm trembles against the frame of the window as I tighten my grip. What is the matter with me?

"Brother?"

"Please," Golden eyes look at me with a pleading gaze. Her body inches closer to the window as it becomes increasingly difficult to breathe. "Son, you just woke up after a week. You can't afford to overexert yourself or else you might-"

"Get back…" My breathing comes quicker and quicker. Breathe. You have to breathe! My ears rings wildly as a sharp stabbing sensation radiates in my chest. No… no no no no! Am I dying?!

"Stay away!" I shake my head rapidly as the ringing in my ears intensifies. "D-Don't take a step closer!"

The hallway spins as my limbs feel numb. Another wave of nausea hits me square in the stomach as I shut my eyes as tightly as I can. Make this go away! A sting strikes my chest as I can feel myself falling.

(Flash):

"Daddy!"

(Flash)

No! No! No! I can't die! I just can't!

My voice hitches in my throat as a pair of arms wrap around me. "Astral, are you okay?"

"Stay…" I wince at the bright lights as my head pounds into my skull. "S-Stay away from me!"

"Don't touch me! Don't you dare touch me!"

"Son, get a grip on yourself!"

"Don't!"

(Flash):

"You monster," A little boy curls up in the corner of a room. "You're a freak." A whimper escapes his lips as the individual from the shadows laugh. "You know why your parents don't save you? It's because they're ashamed."

"S-Stop it!"

"They are ashamed of having a son like you. They are disappointed with you being such a weakling. Ha, you couldn't even save your sister. What good are you for? You should go and die-"

"Stop it!" He yells as his hands clutch his pendent as tightly as he can. Trickles of blood pool from his hand down to the ground as a sob radiates through the room.

(Flash)

"DON'T! STOP IT!"

"Your Highness!"

My vision goes blurry as muffled voices rings through my ears. Why… what… I don't understand… Why am I reacting like this?

Maria's POV:

"Just like Lady Star, The Prince is suffering from retrograde amnesia due to a traumatic blow to his head injuring the brain's ability to recall memories."

"So, he won't be able to remember anything about the past?"

"I wouldn't say anything but it will take a certain amount of time for him to recall the memories." He states as he turns to my friend. "Speaking of which, have you been able to recall certain memories?"

She smiles. "They're a bit hazy but they're coming back slowly."

"That's excellent! That means that His Highness's amnesia is less likely to be permanent."

I still cannot believe he can forget her of all beings. Forgetting us is just fine but to forget his fiancée?! You have got to be kidding me.

"This is all my fault." My friend mutters as I sigh.

"Astrana-"

"If it wasn't because of me, he wouldn't have gotten injured causing him to lose his memories." Tears drip from her eyes onto the floor as she sniffles.

"Lily," She turns to my friend who is shutting her eyes with a calm expression about her. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Why does she have such a calm expression? "I-"

"It's not your fault." My friend utters opening her eyes with a small smile. "You shouldn't be the one to apologize here."

Her eyes widen. "But I-"

"No, he decided to save you from his attack. That was his choice."

"But-"

"She's right," I said interrupting her. "It's not your fault."

"They were aimed at me!"

"Yet he willingly protected you," My green-eyed friend said gently. "You're his younger sister. Tell me, what older brother wouldn't save his younger sister?"

"But still, that should've-"

"That's the way he is." My purple-eyed friend said with a small smile. "He acts like he's only doing things for his benefit but in reality, he puts others before him." That's exactly like him.

"But still-"

"Astrana," The Queen walks up to us placing a hand on her shoulder. "We are not blaming you for this. You had absolutely nothing to do with it."

"I did! They were sent to kill me!"

"How do you think we would feel if you were the one who lost all memories?" The King's voice booms across the hallway as he approaches us.

"For goodness sakes, we have just gotten you back after all of these years." Her mom said. "Do you think we want you to lose your memories again?"

"No…"

"Exactly," Her dad said gently. "So, stop blaming yourself over this. It's not your fault."

She bites her lip looking down. "I was the one who caused him to lose all of his memories…"

I glance at my dark-haired friend who sports a neutral expression on her face. True… but it's not her fault.

"I will reiterate," My friend said with a calm expression. "You had nothing to do with this whatsoever."

"But Liliana, I-"

"Astrana," She holds her hands gently with a smile. "I don't blame you for this."

"He thought you were his sister of all beings! I-"

"So? That doesn't matter. What matters now is for us to focus on helping him regain his memories." A hand lands on her shoulder. "I'm serious. I don't blame you for this development."

Her eyes widen as tears glisten threatening to fall. "You… don't blame me for this?"

She shakes her head. "I don't. At first, I'll admit, I was jealous of you and Astral because I thought you liked him romantically."

A laugh escapes her lips. "Me like him romantically? He's my older brother."

She ruffles her hair playfully. "Hey! Cut me some slack. I didn't know about your relationship with him until last week. Also, it didn't help the matter how you were always so close to him." My friend mutters as I giggle. Jealousy is really something. "Anyway, I don't blame you for this and neither should you."

"You really forgive me?"

She nods with a smile. "Of course,"

My friend tackles her into an embrace as she strokes her hair softly. "Thank you, Lily."

"Don't mention it."

Astrana's POV:

"So," I turn to the doctor. "What can we do to help him?"

"Well, there's really nothing you can do, Your Highness." He started. "Although, since His Highness has amnesia, the best thing you all can do is not to shock him too much."

Not shock him? He had a panic attack and fainted earlier. I think that's shocking enough. "What does that mean?" A feminine voice rings out as a 30-year-old woman with porcelain skin, blue eyes, and black hair with blue tips walks down the hallway with her husband.

"Count Luca, Countess Carissa," He bows as she waves an arm.

"No need for formalities."

"Anyway, what do you mean by that?" The General asks as he purses his lips.

"As you might all know, he has amnesia which can result in confusion. Since he doesn't remember the events before the attack, he will perhaps have a difficult time adjusting to who he truly is."

"You're saying along the lines of an identity crisis?"

He nods. "Your Majesty, that's correct."

"If what you're saying is true," I gulp. "Does that mean he can become a totally different person than before?"

He sighs deeply pinching the bridge of his nose. "I honestly don't know. With amnesia, anything could happen. Most likely his personality will change when he's trying to make sense of all this or it could not."

Lucky… I swallow a lump in my throat trying to keep the tears from surfacing. If he becomes a different person… then…

"If we're not supposed to shock him," My brother's fiancée started with a calm expression. "What do you suggest us to do?"Why is she so calm?

"Hm…"

"Can we lie to him?" My green-eyed friend asks. That's not such a bad idea. If it could take off a bit of pressure then what's the harm?

He shakes his head slowly. "Although that's a good idea, it would harm him in the long run. Right now, he's getting adjusted to this world. The last thing he needs is people that he can't trust."

"You've got a point." My mom said with her hand under her chin.

"So we tell him the truth?" My hazel-eyed friend ask as got a conflicted expression on his face.

"Yes," He said slowly. "But, you got to find a way to say it without shocking him too much."

How are we supposed to do that? I think the thing he will be shocked with the most is… My eyes drift to his fiancée. That he has a fiancée that he doesn't even remember.

"And if we shock him too much? Then what will happen?"

"As I said, with amnesia, it's unpredictable."

"Ok," My dad said with a sigh. "Anything else that we have to know?"

Star's POV:

"Since it's a traumatic hit to the head, his memories might not be the only thing affected."

My eyes widen. "You don't mean…"

"Maybe. There's grey area regarding this but usually, it affects levels of intelligence."

His eyes widen. "I said maybe but considering that he can reply to Lady Liliana's questions, I would say that his intelligence is spared from the equation."

"Oh, and a few things to keep in mind," He started. "First of all, amnesia takes time to recover from. Under no circumstances will any of you force him to remember."

"This not only harms him by putting more pressure and stress that can affect him physically but mentally and emotionally as well." Makes sense.

We nod in understanding. "Number two, do not yell at him."

"I understand that it can be stressful to see him not remember anything but he's currently like a child. He has to relearn things and it can be highly stressful on him as well. Plus, you all saw how he reacted when one of us tried to approach him." Yup. He got defensive. Defensive and shocked enough to climb onto a window. "That's because of a lack of trust."

"The third thing is to under no circumstances is anyone allowed to control or force him into something he would not like to do. This can be highly damaging to him because he feels like he's supposed to be something he is not. Thus, leading to an even greater identity crisis and self shattered perception." Wow… so, control our emotions, don't force him to remember, be patient, and don't assign him roles to fit. Ok! I can do that. "Anyone has any questions?"

"Why do his eyes convey so much fear?" My friend whispers. "I mean, I get that he doesn't remember anything but… why does he think that I will hurt him?" Lily…

I place my hand on her shoulder. "Trust me, it's the fear talking. He doesn't really think that you will harm him but he doesn't remember anyone right now. Imagine waking up in a whole new world. Wouldn't you be on edge as well?"

"True… but still his eyes show so much fear…"

All is silent as we look at each other. "Doctor, could he have PTSD?"

He places a hand under his chin. "Well, I'm not sure. It's too early to make a diagnosis. Usually with PTSD, the victim experienced some sort of trauma in childhood." His gaze drifts to the king and queen as they stiffen. "Your Majesties, please pardon me for crossing a boundary but has His Highness…"

Golden eyes and mismatched eyes meet as they both pursue their lips. Hm…

"What do you think?"

"My King," His fingers intertwine with a bow. "Judging by His Royal Highness's erratic behavior earlier, I have reasons to conclude…"

"Nistro," A small voice chimes in as she nods. "We'll tell you at a later date. Right now, you need to focus on calming my son."

A head nods. "Your Majesties, I'm going to check on him daily if you don't mind?"

The King nods. "Do what you have to do for him to regain his memories."

"I will do my best but you all," He gestures to us. "Have a role to play in this as well." Yup. I'm going to play it to the best of my ability. After all, I know what it's like to have amnesia and not remember.

"Doctor,"

"Yea, Lady Star?"

"Is it normal when I rest, I usually have flashbacks of memories in the forms of dreams?" I ask as he places a hand under his chin.

"Memories manifest in different ways. For you, I'm assuming your memories are slowly returning to you in the form of dreams."

So it's normal then. "Ok, thanks!"

He smiles. "You are most welcome. If you need anything, I'm always here."

I return his smile. "Of course!"

"Oh and Lily, why did you lie to him about your relationship?"

"What?!" Her mother exclaims looking at her daughter in disbelief. "Why didn't you tell him?"

"Yea, isn't he going to know anyway?" My hazel-eyed friend asks in confusion. "Why bother hiding it?"

A sigh escapes her lips as she clutches her head. "I didn't want to overwhelm him at the moment." She pauses looking pale. "The doctor said not to cause him too much shock. Imagine his reaction if I told him that I'm his fiancée when he first woke up." True.

"But he's going to know about this sooner or later."

"Yes, but I have to figure out how to break the news to him without thrusting him into a new role." That's also a good point.

"But if you do that…"

"Father, I'll be fine."

"When he asked if you were his friend or not, you looked ready to burst into tears!"

"Astrana," She shoots her an expectant gaze. "It doesn't matter if he doesn't remember his relationship with me. What's important is for us to help him regain his memories."

Liliana… All of us stare at her in awe as she takes a deep breath and walks into his room.

"Luca," The king said after a moment. "You've done well raising your daughter."

Liliana's POV:

Gold and silver eyes narrow at him. "What did you do to me?"

Huh?

My brows furrow as I notice a bandage in the middle of his left arm. A gasp escapes my lips as I swerve my head towards the doctor. He didn't…

"Answer me! Did you drug me with some sort of concoction?"

"Relax. It's just a simple sedative in order to calm your mind."

"You-"

"The effects will soon disappear and you'll go back to normal, Your Highness. No need to worry."

My beloved's eyes widen as a scowl flashes on his face. "How dare you do this without my consent. This violates the oath."

"I dare not do anything against your will, Your Highness but since you were unconscious, the King gave me permission."

"Just because he gave you permission does not mean you can-"

"Let me ask you something, Your Highness. Do you perhaps remember anything that occurred before you fainted?"

He blinks furrowing his brows.

"You don't remember running away?"

"Well yea. I was about to jump from a window."

"Then do you remember what happened after?"

He places a hand under his chin. "Then I passed out. How am I supposed to remember what happened after?"

He's got a point there.

"Precisely." He pinches his nose bridge with a sigh. "If you hadn't ran off in a hurry, maybe this would've been resolved already."

"Excuse me?" My fiancé raises a brow as I gulp. I know that tone. "How about you try forgetting everything around you and see how you like it?"

"Your Highness, I don't understand why you're so defensive. I merely indulged in my opinion."

"Indulging in your opinion is a good thing however," He glares at the doctor. "Using that as means to insult a being is rather degrading to oneself." A smirk crosses in his handsome face. "Just thought you would know that's all."

"You are absolutely correct, Your Highness." He interlocks his fingers in front of him. "I am ashamed for not realizing my mistake sooner."

Huh… he usually doesn't drag out the conversation like this. So why is he…

The doctor suddenly clears his throat. "Shall we get to this?"

"If we must."

I meet his gaze as he tilts his head. Those beautiful eyes hold no recollection of us, of me, of anyone. I feel as if I'm about to faint. We sat on the couch calmly while he stares at us again. My fist clenched as I hold back the tears from surfacing. He doesn't remember…

"Okay," The doctor gestures to the King and Queen. "This is the King and Queen."

"As in royalty?"

"Yes,"

My fiancé raises a questionable brow at them as they give him a slight smile. "Greetings, Your Majesties."

They bite their lip. The Queen's eyes glisten as she nods as if she was slowly accepting the fact that he doesn't remember anything. "You of all people don't need to be so formal."

"Why?"

(Flash):

"Just leave all the talking to me."

(Flash)

"Your Highness," He begins gently. "These two are your parents."

He blinks looking back and forth with a slow nod. "You two," My beloved gestures with a critical gaze. "Are my parents?"

"Yes," The King tightens his grip on his wife's hand as she blinks the tears away. He doesn't even recognize his parents?

He turns back to the doctor. "Does that mean I'm royalty?"

"Yes, Your Highness. You are the one and only prince of this world."

"Wait," My hazel eyed friend speaks up. "Does that mean you're willing to believe us?"

My lover shrugs. "Not really but I'm stuck here until the sedative wears off. Might as well listen to what you all have to say."

At least he's listening and not jumping out a window.

"Anyway, are you sure you got the right guy?" He raises a brow with a perplexed expression.

His lips curve into a minuscule smile. "Yes, I'm 100% positive."

"Hm…" His gold and silver eyes look at his hands with curiosity. "What's this?"

I gulp as he slowly removes his ring, examining it from all angles. That's…

"Your Highness, that's your promise ring."

"Promise ring?" My fiancé blinks at the doctor. "What promise did I make?"

My chest clenches as I bite my tongue. He honestly doesn't remember the promise between us?

The doctor's eyes widened. "Your Highness… do you really not remember where this ring comes from?"

His luminous eyes narrow in deep thought. "Am I supposed to?"

"Yes! You can forget anything except for this ring, Your Highness."

I feel nauseous. My stomach churns as I grip my fingers together. I know it's not his fault but the fact that he can't remember…

My fiancé raises an eyebrow at the doctor. "I'm assuming this little thing is important?"

He nods. "Someone gave this to you and you treasure it very much."

"Someone?" His eyes narrow as a look of familiarity shines. "Who on earth would give me a ring of all things?"

"Your Highness, you must remember!"

A flicker of light reflects from the ring's surface as he blinks. "Okay, first of all, stop yelling at me." He rolls his eyes at the man next to him then scoffs, focusing on the ring once more. "Secondly, I'm assuming this was a gift?"

"Yes."

"Huh… do beings usually gift rings?"

"No." He said after a moment. "They don't usually gift rings as a present."

"Then why-"

"Unless, that individual is really special."

"Special?" His fingers fiddle with the ring as he furrows his brows. "Exactly how am I special? Besides, it's probably just any old ring from the market."

"It's not." I gulp as he looks in my direction. My fingers grip each other. "It's not just any ring."

"Oh?" Gold and silver eyes lock onto mine. "And how would you know this?"

If he finds out I was the one who brought the ring… he would conclude that I'm not really his best friend.

I look towards my lap biting my tongue. "It just looks like it. The quality, I mean."

"Hm," My darling's eyes narrow as he places it down on the table.

A gasp comes from the individual next to him. "Your Highness, what are you-"

"Why are you reacting like that?" He blinks letting out a breath. "All I did was put it on the table."

"Because you never took it off until today."

"Really?" His gaze drifts to the ring once more. "Oh well. Currently, I don't wear rings."

"B-But-"

"Why not?" I grit my teeth forcing my tears back. "Why don't you want to wear it?"

"I refuse to put an unidentified item on my finger. Who knows where it came from. And besides, as I said, I don't wear rings. I find it to constrict my finger."

Constrict his finger? Constrict your finger my head! You didn't even notice it until you looked at it. If you want to not wear it, at least come up with a more suitable excuse!

A lump forms in my throat. Don't cry. "I'm pretty sure the being who gifted you it would want you to wear it."

"So?" He rolls his eyes once more. "Just because they gifted me something doesn't mean I have to utilize it." Beautiful eyes meet mine as they drift down to the ring. "Say, you seem to like rings judging by your hands. What do you say to one more?"

What?

"What… what do you mean?"

My heart thumps in my chest as he my vision blurs. Surely he's not saying what I think he's saying… right?

"The ring, Lady Liliana." A palm reveals a plain band. "Do you want it?"

Is he… no…

"Are you…" I can feel tears well in the corners of my eyes. "Giving me your ring?" Don't cry. Don't you dare cry, Lily!

A head nods as I sniffle holding back a cough. He's actually… giving me the ring back… I…

"Hah," A laugh rings out as hazel eyes stare at him. "Astral, who would give a gift to another? Plus, it doesn't even fit her fingers."

"You're right." He glances at the object in his palm.

"Here's what I think. The rings fits no one but you so there's no reason for you to stop wearing it."

"Yes, but-"

"Have you ever thought that ring has sentimental value?" His eyes widen at her statement. "Why did you think it was on your finger when you woke up if it had no sentiment to you?"

"It doesn't change the fact I can't remember." All emotion creases from his face. "What difference does it make if I wear it or not?"

"A piece of nice jewelry will go to waste if you throw it away now."

Hazel and heterochromatic eyes bore into each other's as all is silent.

"Fine," A hand slips it on his left ring finger. "I'll wear it for now because it would be considered as rude to give it back to her."

Wait…

"Although I don't know why, I appreciate you giving me a ring, Lady Liliana."

My jaw drops at his words. How did he… "How…"

"Your face gave me the answer."

Am I that transparent?! You think years beside him would have an effect on me as well.

Heat rises to my cheeks as I glance at the wall clock. "Y-You're welcome.

He directs his gaze towards his sister. "You," His eyes narrow looking at her then back at his parents. "Are their daughter?"

"Yes, this is Princess Astrana, your younger sister." He said after a moment.

The Queen and the Princess do look alike. The only difference is that one has pale aquamarine hair and the other has pale blue hair. Not to mention the age difference.

"Ok, next is," The doctor directs his gaze to my blonde hair friend. "This, is Lady Maria, your friend."

"My friend?"

"Yes. You've known her since you were six."

His luminous eyes meet her hazel as she flashes a smile. He blinks as his eyes widen. "Ah," His pink lips purse into a thin line. "I remember you. You were the one who called me a jerk."

She nods. "Yup."

Such confidence! And she responded with a smile as well… wow.

"So how am I a jerk according to your words?"

"Hm," She places a hand under her chin. "Well, you made my friend cry by not remembering."

"Oh so you blame me for having amnesia? Wow," A clap rings through the room. "How noble of you. That's like blaming the victim of an attack."

"No genius," My friend's eyes roll. "I'm not blaming you for having amnesia but rather your tone."

"My tone? What was wrong with it?" His voice rises as I blink. Why does he seem to have a comeback for everything?

The doctor looks back and forth as he chuckles. "Alright, Your Highness, please calm yourself."

My fiancé lets out a soft sigh slowly as his eyes drift to my white-haired friend. "Are you also my friend?" I stifle a laugh. I know I shouldn't laugh in this situation but he's like a child right now.

"Mhm. I'm Star."

"What an interesting name…" He places one hand on his chin. "Is that your real name or is that a nickname?"

Her smile falters a bit. "I don't know."

"Huh?"

"I can't remember anything about my past. Nothing about my parents or who I was before the incident." I hold her hand softly as she smiles at me. Star…

"Hey, does she have amnesia as well?"

"That is correct, Your Highness."

My fiancé directs his gaze back to her. "I have amnesia as well. Perhaps we can help each other regain our memories?"

She blinks in disbelief as her lips curve upwards. "I would like that!"

He chuckles as our eyes light up. He's finally laughing. Well a bit but it's still a good improvement than a few moments ago. My love's eyes drift towards my parents with a head tilt. "You two are…?"

"Ah, this man is Count Luca also referred to as General Luca. While the woman sitting beside him is his wife, Countess Carissa who is also referred to as the General's wife."

He nods staring at my parents with a curious gaze. "Countess Carissa, you're pretty."

My mother chokes on her tea as everyone's eyes widen. What did he say? "Did I say something wrong?"

She laughs offering him a smile. "Of course not. You caught me off guard with your compliment that's all. Thank you, Astral."

He shoots her a bright smile. "You're welcome." Huh… I glance between my mother and my fiancé. Is it odd that I find this weird and somewhat adorable? My fiancé's eyes drift to mine blinking then back to my mother. "Are you two related?"

"Yes, she's my daughter."

Luminous gold and silver eyes meet mine with a soft smile. "Thanks again for…"

He pours me a cup of water as I return his smile. "Don't worry about it. It's the least I could do."

"I don't mean to pry but what were you talking about outside the door?" He sips his water opening one eye to look at me.

"Oh you know, just about some things," I reply vaguely as he places his cup down with a clink.

"Does it happen to include my relationship with you by any chance?"

I choke on my water covering my mouth with the back of my hand. What? "What?"

He tilts his head to the side. "Why are you reacting that way? You're my friend, aren't you?"

My lips strain a smile. "Yea, I'm your best friend." Best friend… I never thought that I would one day, not like that title.

"You must know that I don't appreciate being lied to." My beloved raises an eyebrow as he narrows his eyes. "Yet, you're lying to me."

My heart stops suddenly. D-Does he remember? "Why would you assume I'm lying?"

"No matter how hard you try to mask your emotions, the eyes are the windows to one's soul. When I asked you that question, you behaved out of the ordinary." He leans back eyeing me.

"What's your relationship with me?" Even in his amnesiac state, I still can't lie to him.

"I…" I trail off biting the inside of my cheek. How am I supposed to go about this? Do I just break the news to him? But if I do that…

My fiancé narrows his eyes. "Well? I'm awaiting your answer, Lady Liliana."

"Astral, it's not what you think,"

"Star, please, let me handle this." I stop her as my eyes meet his.

My beloved stares at me expectantly. "If you don't want to say it then I won't force you." His hand picks up the cup again.

I…

My eyes lock with his. "I'm your fiancée."

My love slowly puts his cup down with a loud click not breaking eye contact with me. "I'm sorry but did you just say you're my fiancée?" I nod as he burst out laughing. "You lied to me once. Why should I believe you?" I had this coming.

"Think about it, why would I lie to you about this?" I state after a moment of silence. "What would I have to gain?"

"What do you have to gain from being my fiancée?" A smirk crossed his lips as I shiver at the ominous vibe. What is this? This aura…

"Plenty. If it's the power you desire, marrying the prince of a world can grant you that immediately." He stares at his fingers looking bored.

How can he say that? "No, I-"

"Oh? Do you not wish for power? Well, perhaps you wish for land? Money? Wealth? Respect? Status?" My beloved chuckles. "All of that can be achieved if you marry me."

Our jaws drop at his words. H-Huh? What is he… why is he like this?

"Son-"

"N-No," I stammer ignoring the aching stab in my chest. "Let him continue."

"But-"

"Father," I grip his hand as he looks away with a huff.

I clench my fist boring my eyes into his. "I don't desire any of those things you mentioned."

He raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Then indeed tell me, what is it that you desire?"

"You," I whisper as he seems taken aback by my response.

He laughs. "Me? Oh my, you are sure an interesting woman, aren't you?"

What? "What do you mean by that?"

He places a hand under his chin while examining me from head to toe. "Most people would want jewels, gems, wealth, status, etc but you," My love points to me. "You want me."

"If that's not interesting then I don't know what is." He finishes as I glance at the doctor. He shrugs with a sympathetic smile. Why is his guard up so much?

"I'm serious," I tried again. "I'm not desiring wealth or power. All I wish for is love."

He tilts his head with interest and leans forwards clasping his fingers together. "Love?"

I nod. "That's all I desire."

"Love…" He mutters after a moment staring blankly at me as I got a sudden chill. That expression… don't tell me… don't tell me that he- "What is this love you speak of?"

My heart stops momentarily then beats erratically. Tears blur my vision as it drips down onto the table. He… forgot what love is?

Everyone's breaths hitch as their eyes widen. "You don't remember what love is?" His sister asks in disbelief as he shrugs. Now it all makes sense… his questions from earlier. The reason he got so… defensive. It was all because he has forgotten what love is.

"Son," His mother said. "What do you think love is?"

"Love is the emotion experienced when oxytocin is released in the brain - it induces warm and fuzzy feelings of trust, affection, romance, and bonding."

Ok… that's the literal scientific definition of it. "You're not wrong but that's not the only definition," I said after a moment.

"Is there another definition that has yet to be known?"

"Yup."

"How would you describe love?"

Let's see… um… "An art that is aimed to be a reflection of how much one person cares for the other. Some use words, create scenes, use certain actions to display this. It is an art and everyone has their methods to portray their feelings for the other." I started with my hand under my chin.

"It is the love that goes unseen and does not need recognition. It's not motivated by what can be rewarded from the actions that have benefited others. It is selfless. Understanding even when it has been misunderstood. Overall," My eyes meet his luminous gold and silver eyes with a smile. "Love is friendship set ablaze."

My fiancé blinks as he sips his water. "Hm… that's an interesting notion you've got there. However," He places his cup down, crossing his legs. "I'm afraid I still don't understand."

"What's not to understand?"

"How can love be selfless if one always has something to gain from another? For example, a man always has something to gain from a woman." True…

"But you seem to forget, if a man truly loves a woman, he would do things for her without expecting anything in return."

(Flash):

"My love?" I open the door to find him folding clothes and putting them neatly in the closet.

My eyes widen as I place the tray of food down on the table. "Honey, you don't have to do this. Let me-"

A finger connects with my lips. "As I said before, the distinction in ranks between us doesn't apply in this relationship."

"But still-"

He wraps his arms around my waist pecking my lips as my face grows hot. "Darling, just because I'm a prince, doesn't mean that I'm not your boyfriend. I do this because I want to." He whispers.

I raise a brow. "Knowing you, are you sure it doesn't require me to do anything in return?" I ask in suspicion as he chuckles wrapping his arms tighter around my waist.

"What? Can't I help my beautiful girlfriend with some things?" He smiles innocently as I pat his cheek.

"Hm… are you positive that you're not expecting anything in return?"

"I'm positive,"

(Flash)

My love raises a brow leaning forward once more. "And how do you know that he's not lying? Maybe he's faking. Saying that he doesn't want anything in return but in actuality, he wants something."

I shake my head with a giggle. "No, he wouldn't do that."

"How would you know?"

"I trust him." I lock gazes with him as his eyes slightly widen.

"Trust?" He scoffs waving a hand dismissively. "Trust is such a fickle thing."

"It's better to trust in yourself than place large amounts of it in others." This calculating side of him is in full force today. Is it because of his amnesia that he's backing up on logic?

A smile graces my lips as I hold his hand. He tries to wiggle free from my grip as I tighten my hold. "Please, don't touch me so casually."

"Are you that uncomfortable with my touch?"

He sighs deeply. "Look, this is going sound harsh but I'm going to say it anyway. Even though you're my fiancée," My beloved bores his eyes into mine. "I don't know you. I don't remember anything about anyone for that matter." His gaze drifts to everyone in the room then back to me. "That includes any feelings associated with you that I may have associated with you in the past." He states calmly as a rush of pain aches in my chest.

Don't cry… Do not cry. I must not cry. Don't even think about it! "You say that you're my fiancée?" He nods. "I believe you." Tears start to drip down my face as I gulp back a sob. He finally believes me!

"But," My beloved hands me a box of tissues. "That doesn't change the fact that I don't remember. Personally, I see you all as strangers."

"Astral-"

His eyes narrow as we flinch. "Please, don't interrupt me while I'm speaking, Princess Astrana." Her jaw clench as she looks down. The King grips her hand tightly. That formal, cold, tone…

"And as strangers," He directs his eyes on me. "I don't trust any of you regardless of your relationship with me."

A pulsing pain radiates in my chest as it gets stabbed multiple times by sharp knives. His words… why? "Why?" I clench my fist tightly fighting the urge to make any noise that would signal a loss of composure and his eyes soften for a second.

"Why?" My fiancé's hard gaze returns. "How would you react if you wake up and can't remember the people around you? How would you react if a person claims to be your fiancée yet you have no recollection of loving them and/or proposing? Plus," His beautiful eyes narrow. "Who knows what motive you have?"Excuse me?! Did he just say…!

"I have no motive."

"Who knows? Perhaps you're using me for your own benefit and desires." He stares at his nails again with a disinterested expression. "Perhaps," A smirk appears on his lips as he sides glance at me. "You don't even love me." Oh no he didn't!

My hand grips his tightly as I glare into his piercing eyes. "You will not dismiss and undermine my feelings for you like that," I said lowly as he smirks with a glint of interest in his gaze.

"Hm… I have a proposition for you. Want to play a game with me?"

"A game?"

He offers me a minuscule smile. "Yes. You said to not undermine and dismiss your feelings, correct?" I nod as he continues. "I'll give you one week. If you manage to make me kiss you on the lips and say the words I love you," My love points to his lips with a wink. "You will win." Hm…

"And if you win?"

He crosses his legs and gently takes his hand back putting it under his chin. "If I win… I'll think of a suitable punishment for you."

"And why should I accept this proposal?"

"Perhaps, to get the satisfaction of me uttering the words I love you and the joy of winning?" He states with a raised eyebrow as my lips curve into a smile.

"I see you're competitive as ever. It's a good thing that I don't back down from a challenge." Our eyes narrow as sighs ring out around us.

"Why does everything have to be a competition with you two?"

"I think it's their love language."

"Don't be ridiculous, Star. Competition is not a love language."

"It could very well be their love language considering how they are both competitive."

"Who do you think will win?"

"I don't know."

"I'm voting for Liliana."

My love swiftly crosses his arms and legs. "From now on, you are exempt from any special conditions and behaviors that I may have given you in the past. Furthermore, you may not view our relationship as a business but I do. So please, be mindful of your physical contact with me."

"If that's the case, then how is our little game going to take place?"

"Let me lay down some rules. Number one, it has to be voluntary. Meaning, you can't force me into kissing and saying that phrase. Number two, limit physical contact. I know you're my fiancée but it's is a game as well as a business. So keep it professional."Professional? It's a relationship though. "Number three, anything goes as long as you don't violate my boundaries and my personal space or do anything illegal and harmful."

I roll my eyes with a laugh. "Like I will do anything illegal and harmful."

He shrugs. "It had to be said. Anyway," He holds out his hand. "Do we have an agreement, Lady Liliana?"

"May the best person win." I shake his hand locking gazes with my beloved. "That's me by the way."

"Don't get so full of yourself. Remember, you only have a week."

"And I plan to make the most out of it. When do we start?"

He turns to the clock. "Considering how late it is, tomorrow will be the official date."

"Works for me." I shrug as he retracts his hand.

(Pulse)

My vision wavers as a throbbing pain assaults my temporal region making me clutch my head with a hiss. Why am I getting so many headaches lately? "Lily, are you alright?"

I wave a hand to stop the questions and cover my ears. "You're so loud." What is the matter with me these days? Why do I feel so… so… strange? I don't even know what I'm feeling anymore.

"Doctor," My beloved looks at him as he starts to come over to my side of the couch.

"No need," I exclaim while The Queen hands me a cup of water.

"This will help."

"Thank you, Your Majesty."

"Are you sure you're okay?" My white-haired friend asks with her voice lace in concern.

"You've been getting dizzy spells for a couple of days now."

I nod with a wince. "I'm fine, Maria."

"Actually, Lady Liliana, you're looking quite pale…" He utters in a concerned voice.

"Ah, you're right." My father said as he moves so that the doctor sits next to me.

"Lady Liliana, your wrist if I may?"

"I told you, I'm fine."

"Lily-"

I sighed closing my eyes a bit. "No need to worry. It's just a dizzy spell."

"It's been going on for weeks now!" My mother exclaims. "How can we not worry?"

"I feel fine." I wave a hand dismissively. "You all worry too much."

My eyes drift towards him calmly sipping his tea with little interest in the commotion around him. Astral… I bite my lip. Does he not care about me anymore?

He raises an eyebrow and catches my gaze. "What's the matter? Something on my face?"

I giggle nervously with a gulp. "It's nothing. He's sitting there sipping tea but why is he so intimidating? Was he always like this or is this because of his amnesia?

"Lady Liliana, are you positive that you're alright?" The doctor asks once more as I gave him a slight smile.

"I'm-" A queasy feeling makes my stomach churn as my face pales. Uh-oh! I quickly cover my mouth with my eyes widened and bolt to the restroom as my legs can carry me. My fingers grip the edge of the toilet bowl emptying the contents of my stomach while heaving. Just what is going on?

A groan escapes my lips as a hand pats my back. "Must be a stomach bug."

All heads, nod in agreement. "Yes, it seems like it."

"You said you felt dizzy right?"

I nod weakly while emptying the contents again breathing raggedly. My throat burns with acid reflux as I stare at the contents.

I haven't eaten anything today. No wonder there's just liquid coming out. My legs are like jelly as I flushed the toilet trying to stand. Unfortunately, another dizzy spell passes through making the room spin around in circles. Maybe I am ill after all.

"Careful." A hand grips my arm holding me steady. "You need to rest."

I wave my hand weakly looking at him. "No need, I'm feeling fine."

My love stares at me with an emotionless expression. "If it's truly is the stomach bug, I don't want to catch it." Of course. "Now, where's your room?"

"Oh, you and her share a room." My hazel-eyed friend said as he blinks and slowly turns towards me.

"Her and I share a room?" He asks in disbelief as they nod. My face heats up under his gaze as he deeply sighs clutching his head. "Why would we… you know what I'm not even going to ask." He groans shaking his head. "Father, are there any more spare rooms?" Is the idea of us sharing a room that horrid to you?

The older adults look at one another then glance back at us with a smile. "Unfortunately, all of the rooms are filled."

"You expect me to believe every single room in this gigantic place has been filled?"

"Mhm," My green-eyed friend said. "Every single one has been filled." I raise an eyebrow as my mother winks and my eyes slightly widen. Oh… they plan to… good plan!

"Are you sure?" His tone is laced with suspicion as they all have smiles on their faces.

"Absolutely."

"So, if I go check, there will be a person in every single one of those rooms?" Their eyes widen in panic as I shift my gaze. Uh-oh… I have to help them somehow…!

"Astral," I lean my body weight on him as he stiffens. "I'm dizzy."

My arms wrap around his neck as he stands there limply. "Lady Liliana, be mindful of your actions." Be mindful of my actions?! I'm ill!

"But my head hurts!" I whine leaning on him even more as he gulps. He gently removes my arms as I cling to him. "You're so cruel!"

"I like my personal space." Hahahahahahaha! I can't even… hahahahaha! Personal space?

I stifle a laugh. "Mmmmm, Astral." I pout as he blinks with a neutral expression. Seriously? No reaction?

My beloved glance at the doctor. "Are you sure there aren't any more rooms available?"

He shakes his head. "I'm afraid not, Your Highness."

"That shouldn't be a problem right?" His mother chimes in. "After all, she's your fiancée."

His eyes drift towards me as then to my friend with the emerald green eyes. "Hm Lady Star, you seem like a sensible person."

She blinks as he glances at me. "How would you like to help me with something?"

"It depends on your request."

"It's a very simple request. You just have to let her," A finger points at me as my eyes widen. "Rest in your room for the time being."

"No!" I stare at my fiancé in shock gripping his arm tighter. "I don't wanna sleep with her!"

My friend folds her arms shifting her weight on one leg. "And… what's in it for me?"

"How about I'll owe you a favor?" He raises an eyebrow. "In doing this, I will be at your mercy. Think about it, if you accept this, you can virtually make me do anything that I am capable of."

Wow… does he really not want to share a room with me that badly?

My friend smirks as a glint forms in her eyes. "Then I would have power over you." Her hand curls into a fist slowly with a giggle. "Oh how amazing that would be."

"So… that's a yes?"

"Nah," She waves a hand dismissing his request. "Personally, I can't sleep with another person in the room. Also, she's your fiancée. It would make most sense if she rests here."

A sigh rings out next to me. "Of course you would say that."

"But," She winks. "I wouldn't mind having you at my will."

He scoffs shifting his eyes towards the clock. "That only happens if you accept the deal between us."

"Aw," A pout crosses her lips. "Too bad then. I had a bunch of things planned that would have to go to waste."

Hahaha! I wonder what her plans were?

The guy next to me raises an eyebrow as a smirk slowly crosses his face. "What sort of plans?"

"Like I would go tell you of all people." Her eyes roll. "That wouldn't be very wise."

Huh… My eyes drift between the both of them as my fiancé's gaze narrows into hers. An intrigued expression crosses his face as he places a hand under his chin. What's with that look?

"Are you sure you're not my fiancée?" A finger points at my friend as my jaw slowly opens. Did he just really say that in front of me? Am I hearing things or did he really just say that?

Her green eyes widen. A laugh escapes her lips as she shakes her head. "You dare say that in front of her? Wow, you're brave."

He really is brave. If this was a normal day I would let him have it but since he can't remember anything…

The guy next to me shrugs. "Something about you feels oddly familiar…"

Does that mean he remembers her?

"Thanks for the compliment." A smile graves her lips. "And no. I'm not your fiancée. The woman standing next to you is."

My hands pull him closer as he sighs and his eyes meet mine. "Seriously?"

I tilt my head to the side. "What?"

"I thought I said to refrain contact with me."

"But I'm dizzy!"

"Then go to the bed. Don't lean on me like I'm a support beam."

Hm… "Then carry me."

"No way."

"Why?" I swing his hand back and forth with a frown.

"Personal space."

"You and your personal space." I roll my eyes with a giggle.

"If you're dizzy then lay down."

"Carry me."

"No."

"Carry me."

"No."

"Astral, carry me!"

"No."

This isn't working…! "Kiss me."

His eyes widen for a fraction of a second then reverts to his emotionless demeanor. "Have you no shame? Absolutely not."

"Why?" I flutter my lashes. "You do it all the time."

"I don't remember any of it."

"I can help you remember."

He pushes me away by the shoulder as everyone promptly walks out of the room. "Well, have a good rest you two!"

"Goodnight."

The door closes and I turn to him. Time to put my plan in motion. I lean closer towards him as my love gently pushes me away by the forehead. "No."

"Honey, you claim that you don't remember right? Why not just let me kiss you? Perhaps that will trigger your memory."

"Yea… no." He starts while walking to the couch. "First of all, I doubt that would trigger my memories, and second, like I would let a woman I just met kiss me."

A deep exhale escape my lips as I sat down beside him. "You don't remember me at all?"

"As I said earlier, I don't." I grip his hand as he wiggles it free. "I will repeat, be mindful of physical contact, Lady Liliana."

"Can't you call me by my name?"

"That is your name."

Another sigh escapes my lips as I tightly grip his hand and lean closer. "My name is Liliana."

"Lady-"

"Stop referring to me by my title." I choke out as tears blur my sight. "That's not a part of my name."

Tears drip onto my lap as he stares at me with a neutral expression as always. "This is a business-"

"Our relationship is not a business!"

It's anything but a business! "It may not be to you but to me, that's how I see it."

"Why?" I gulp down clenching my jaw. "Why do you insist this is a business?"

"It's the only way I can make sense of this whole situation." My love utters after a few minutes withdrawing his hands gently from my grasp.

The only way he can make sense of this… "Meaning that since you can't remember me," I sniffle. "You will stay formal until you remember and/or trust me. Is that correct?"

He nods. "Correct." I figured that's the case. "So, refrain from unnecessary touching."

This is for the best. My heart aches as I nod. "Alright." I just have to act formally with him and limit my physical contact… that shouldn't be so hard.

"Ok, so," He glances towards the bed. "You take the bed. I take the couch."

"Ok," I strain a smile and peck him on the cheek as his eyes widen and back away. "Goodnight."

"Didn't I say to limit-"

"I'm your fiancée. Some habits are hard to break." I hold his arm closer as he wiggles free.

"Goodnight."

I shut off the lights and lay on the bed staring at him stare at the ceiling on the couch. Astral… My jaw clenches as tears blur my vision. Why is it so cold? I pull the blanket even closer. I roll over to look at him asleep on the couch.

(Flash):

"From now on, you are exempt from any special conditions and behaviors that I may have given you in the past. Furthermore, you may not view our relationship as a business but I do. So please, be mindful of your physical contact with me."

(Flash)

He views this as a business… he doesn't trust me. He doesn't remember. My eyelids start to droop. How long until you remember? How long until you trust me?

How long do I have to wait until things go back to normal? A couple of tears flow down my cheek as I wipe them away. I can't be this emotional. At least he trusts me a bit considering he's resting a few feet away.

I shut my eyes and bite the inside of my cheek. Goodnight, my beloved.
