Later after Peter was done at work; Felicia had shown him to a place to get changed into the disguises with Peter wearing sunglasses, a hat, a white jumper and a jacket while Felicia had a hat, a green blouse, a jacket, her hair tied back, sunglasses and a scarf. "So... We're... Ben Reily and Lydia Hammon... I feel like I should have dyed my hair blonde for the disguise..." Peter whispered to Felicia who shook her head as she was showing him to an alleyway.
"Let me do most of the talking... I have the passwords list that I used some old contacts to acquire" Felicia told him as they reached the alleyway and down the steps to which Felicia knocked on the door. There was the large bouncer Ox and Felicia said "Password is 'Power is Power"." They were let in and Peter noticed how dark it was with all sorts of scary looking people at tables which included people in suits.
"So... Wait... Aren't those the Watchdogs people?" Peter asked noticing a bunch of people at a table who had scary looking dog masks at the side.
"Online forum trolls turned anti super powered terrorists; a shell of what they used to be. They try anything against any of the 'freaks' that are allowed patronage and they are done for so they are probably smart for as much as they could be." Felicia whispered to him as they went to the bar counter. "Try and not make a scene for there are a lot of people here who you would normally be beating up... Most of them actually..." Felicia told him as they sat down.
"Got it and I should look away if I hear anyone shouting 'Hail Hydra'?" Peter asked as Felicia smiled amused as she shook her head.
"No need; organisations such as those... Big terorrist actions and those that would bring treasonous charges or big unwanted attention to the staff aren't permitted. The Watchdogs are barely relevant at all nowadays and aren't as big as they used to be." Felicia then said and then pointed to the VIP area. "Watch out for anyone coming into or coming from there as that is where the most powerful and influential criminals are permitted... Including the big man Kingpin himself..." Felicia explained in a low whisper and Peter gulped.
However a young woman in a red dress with her hair in a ponytail came forward with Felicia's eyes widening as she recognised her; the woman was smirking at her and whispered "Felicia or whatever name you are using... What a surprise..." The woman then gave air kisses at Felicia's Felicia's cheeks. "So this is man with you now?" the woman then asked looking at Peter as the bartender came forward and looked at them; silently asking if they were going to order.
"Yes... Some root beer if you please..." Peter then said at once at the bartender who rolled his eyes and left with Peter nervously looking at the amused woman and the groaning Felicia. "Ben Reily... Sorry; not a heavy drinker..." Peter then greeted as the woman took his hand to shake.
"Odessa Drake. Has Felicia ever told you about me or our history?" the woman introduced and Peter's eyes widened as she looked to Felicia and she silently nodded.
"The ex; I was telling you about." Felicia admitted as Odessa grinned.
"We were after the same statue when we met and I got to meet the daughter of my idol; the legendary Le Chat Noir. The passion between us but we had to go our separate ways as I continued working with the guild that I was raised in. Was hoping to run into her again one day and offer her a spot in the Guild but alas... The Spider got to her and now it seems the days of thievery are behind her." Odessa replied and then sighed shaking her head as Peter's eyes lit up.
"Well she is helping to save the city now..." Peter answered as Felicia visibly pleaded with him not to make a scene but Odessa gave him a look.
"The path of the so called 'superhero'... Where is the reward for it or the true show of strength and cred? All their work and they hardly get anything in return? The world government turned half of them fugitive and their bravery in bringing back half the universe... Their heavy hitters ended up dead or away. Her current partner had been branded a murderer and a menace and brought dangers from outside the world... Not only that but I have seen footage of Felicia ever since she joined her partner and not impressed. Felicia are you going the way of the Black Widow or the Winter Soldier? Infamous feared forces of nature who went soft when they went to the other side. Did Spider-Man turn out to be such a good partner in bed that her made you turn your back on what you are?" Odessa asked getting up and put her finger to Felicia's neck. "My suspicions have been confirmed... So tell me Felicia; was the necklace all that there was for Le Chat Noir and the Black Cat? Are you not up to the legend without the magic of the trinket... Disappointing" Odessa asked as she then walked away as Felicia muttered something in French underneath her breath.
They heard shouting and their eyes widened as they saw a man in suit accompanied by guards talking to Kenny. Felicia looked at Peter and wasn't able to stop him as he went forward to them. "Sir please... Give me two more weeks at the latest... I will have your money..." Kenny pleaded with the man.
"You must think that I am more stupid than you are if you think that I am going to fall for that? You know the agreement McFarlane; have the money ready by tonight or your other option is to fight to clear your debt in the ten competitor rumble down in the arena. If neither or you end up losing the rumble... Well we will finish off whatever is left." the man told Kong as Peter went up to him.
"Come on... I think Kenny looks like a trustworthy fellow... I am sure that he will be able to get you whatever money you owe..." Peter told them as they looked down at him and Kenny then glanced at him.
"Parker is that you?" Kenny whispered to Peter and he groaned at being recognised. "Wait... You went to follow me after reading my card?" Kenny furiously whispered into his ear.
"Excuse me for wanting to save your butt..." Peter muttered back agitated as the men looked at him.
"Looks like we have a hero on our hands... Tell me Kenny; is he going to represent you in the rumble? Your debt is cleared if he wins but if he loses then the punishment goes to him..." the man explained as Peter's eyes widened.
"Thanks Parker; you're the best... I will be there on your funeral..." Kenny whispered and then nodded at the man as as the guards then took Peter to the back.
"What did i get volunteered into?" Peter asked as Felicia came up to him shaking her head.
"There is a fighting arena circuit here and those who owe money can do a 10 fighter rumble from number 1 where victory clears their debt. Dangerous fighters and including some with powers; there are rumours that Kingpin employed someone to create superhumans on his behalf for the express purpose of fighting in this ring..." Felicia whispered to him and Peter's eyes widened.
At the VIP area of the Bar; there was Fisk using a laptop to be on a video call with Vanessa who had a preteen boy with her. He was smiling but then came a worker who told him "Mr Fisk sir sorry but... Today's challenger for the rumble will now be represented by another newcomer and it's starting soon..." Fisk looked angry at his having his family time interrupted but waved goodbye to the screen.
"Say goodbye to your dad Richard." Vanessa said to the boy as they were waving goodbye with Fisk sighing as he got up.
"A fine young man that our son is becoming but one that I have to be an absent father for... Could we control what type of man he will grow into thanks to his upbringing..." Fisk asked himself but shook his head as he walked to his special entrance for a balcony for the bar's arena.
In the changing area for the fighters in the bar; Peter was without his jacket and had a mask on with Felicia pacing herself; "Are you a fool and if so does that make me a fool for loving you? I know that you could handle yourself but what does the criminal element going to say when they recognise the fighting style of Ben Reily and think that he's Spider-Man?" Felicia asked and then shook her head as she saw Peter in his mask.
"Brought the mask with me just in case; without the webs they might not be able to make the connection so I will be fine Felicia. Today I am the Masked Marvel..." Peter said as Felicia sighed and nodded.
"Fine... You think that I can leave please... Get changed for when things get out of control and you will need help..." Felicia asked and Peter looked at her.
"She of little faith... Go ahead but I will be fine!" Peter told her and she nodded before leaving.
"Hey challenger... Time for your death..." said a man going into the changing room and showed Peter to the halls which led to the special entrance for challengers. It was marked 'DEATH ROW'. While Peter was thinking about how subtle it sounded he could hear the screaming and jeering as he got to the doors.
Really enjoying the new Spider-Man 2 game and without going into detail or spoilers; they definitely started off with a scale that took the previous 2 games some time before they were able to reach it. Also about Odessa Drake here; a bit of a spoiler I learned because of a leak is that Felicia mentioned a girlfriend so Odessa could exist in the Insomniac universe. One more thing; controlling the web wings weren't as annoying as I feared as trying to use the flying wingsuit in the Just Cause games that I have played had been a chore for me to try and use; imagine my groaning reacting when Miles demonstrated them in that footage released for the Playstation Showcase and that was my biggest and pretty much only concern I had.
Plus I have also been liking as flawed as it is Sonic Superstars which I had pre-ordered on my PS5 and I just found it funny that my favourite superhero and my favourite video game hero both had games released in the same week.
