AN: I think the pranks get better from here. I hope that these are the ones that seem the most believable.
Summary: There's a delivery for Lindsay in the mailbox.
Title: It Wasn't Me
Linday
Lindsay had thought she'd heard someone knocking at the door, but when she'd gotten downstairs and opened it no one was there. She shrugged it off before she kept walking down to the mailbox to get the mail. She pulled the lid down finding a package inside. She hadn't been expecting one. She pulled it out and read the label seeing that it was for her. She was curious, but it was wrapped up with tape and when she tried to pull it off it didn't want to come. She sighed not seeing anything else and she went back inside.
"What's that?" Melanie asked.
"I have no clue. Did you order me something?" Lindsay asked carefully using a knife to get the package open.
"No, who's it from?" Melanie asked getting closer.
"Boo." Lindsay read from the inside flap as a piece of paper came off with the tape. It was rigged so the paper came out like that.
She had forgotten that it was the first day of October and that Brian was going to start his annual pranks. When she finished opening the package she let out a scream because there was a real looking brain in the thing. She jumped up moving back and the chair flipped over, right as there was a knock on the door.
"Fucking hell." Melanie shouted jumping as well before looking at the brain and then at Lindsay who looked completely freaked out. "Brian is an asshole as usual. The fucker better not even dare try those fucking bats on me again this year. It's bad enough he already sent that damn balloon." She grumbled.
"Brian wouldn't send me a fake brain in the mailbox." Lindsay protested not wanting to hear Melanie complaining about him. "Should we um, see who's at the door?" She asked when there was another knock.
"It's going to be Brain seeing if he scared the shit out of you." Melanie said.
She picked the chair up going towards the door. She would never fucking admit it, but that had freaked her out for a moment too. It had also been damn good. The fucking thing had even moved. Which made her think it was a Jell-O mold. Someone was going to have to teach Brian one year not to fuck with them. Debbie and Emmett were the only ones he could never get. She never figured out how the woman knew in advance. Emmett said nothing could scare him, except for one thing. She couldn't even remember what he'd said that was either. She yanked open the door putting her best pissed off face on.
"Real funny, fucking asshole. Brain in the…" She stopped seeing that it wasn't Brian at the door. "Justin… what are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you, but I, is the asshole with you?" She looked out the door excepting Brian too.
Justin turned around pretending to look behind him. "No, I haven't seen him today. Was at Debbie and Vic's. Last night was with Daphne and my sister." He said. "I thought I might come over and see Gus for a while, hang out. Nothing to do really." He gave an innocent smile.
"Sorry, the fucking asshole is already playing his damn Halloween pranks. Be warned, they will be a lot and they will be all month. They are never close together though." Melanie said moving aside letting Justin in. "You know you're always welcome here. We love you, Brian not so much."
"What did he do to you two?" Justin asked.
He didn't say anything about Debbie and Vic not wanting to giveaway anything. He followed Melanie into the kitchen seeing what looked like a brain lying on the kitchen table in a package. It had worked perfectly; he had also heard Lindsay's scream from the door. It was why he'd knocked when he had. He could tell that they hadn't picked it up to see the note he'd left under it. He'd left the Boo on top for when they opened. Years of practicing faking his parents handwriting had gotten him good at forging stuff. He had copied Brian's handwriting until Daphne hadn't been able to tell which one was which. He wasn't going to out right say it was or wasn't Brian's doing. He couldn't be responsible if he made it look like his hand writing though.
"Fucker left us a brain in the mailbox." Melanie said picking it up. "Oh, this isn't a Jell-o mold." She added lifting it up to see if she could see what store he'd gotten it from. She got it near her face and dropped it back down because it smelled like meat. "Oh god, that's disgusting." She groaned as it splattered all over the place.
That prop wouldn't be able to be used again, but he had been happy with the time he'd spent making the thing. He'd used meat to make it because he'd wanted it to look real. It had been the most time he'd spent on the things he'd rigged up. He could only hope that the other thing that he'd done would work. He needed to get Melanie but wasn't sure how to get her to look out the window without letting on. That would be his next task. He had gotten Lindsay and kind of Melanie, but only in the gross factor with that. It hadn't scared her like he'd heard Lindsay screaming.
"We might have to find you someone else, Justin." Lindsay said. "I'm going to murder Brian when I see him. He knows I am still freaked out by brains after that fucking prank in college." She stated. "Not him, my fucking so called friend at the time." She shivered not wanting to think about it or talk about it.
"I'm sorry, I'll put him in time out when I see him." Justin offered. "No sex from me if you want."
"There's no need to punish you too." Melanie said. "I'll chop his dick off and let you have it since you like it." She smiled.
"Ew, that's gross." Justin groaned shaking his head at the thought. "That would also be upsetting since I love him. Even if he can't admit it."
Melanie laughed at the thought of Brian saying those words. "Good luck with that. I'm going to clean this up and drop this in his lap the next time we see him." She stated.
Justin watched her noticing that they still hadn't seen the note. He reached over removing it from the mess. It got Lindsay's attention, and she asked what it was. He showed the thing to her which had written on it that hearts tasted even better. I'll be coming for yours and keep the precious baby to help me. There was no way he could ever mess with Gus or say he'd harm him. He loved the little guy and he had pretty much named him. He'd been the deciding factor after all.
"Oh when I get done with him he's going to be hurting good." Lindsay said going over to the phone and picking it up dialing Brian's number.
Justin was glad that he'd taken Brian's cell phone out before he'd left. Everyone was calling him, but he wasn't going to get the messages. He couldn't have Brian ruining his plans by calling and saying it wasn't his doing. He needed more time. He said he was going up to check on Gus. He made sure he got his bag so they didn't go snooping in it. He couldn't help smiling as he made it upstairs hearing Lindsay giving Brian's voicemail an earful lecture. He was sure that Brian would get him back then again, maybe he'd think he was brilliant. He had gotten Debbie who he hadn't gotten before. He was going to think of how he could get Melanie to open up the curtains downstairs next. It had to seem like it was any old suggestion.
