"Morning beautiful". Stevie's eyes flicked open to see the man staring down at her intently. She glanced round the hotel room and he gestured to a trolley of food. "Room service and then I was thinking a day in bed?". They had arrived late last night and she was shocked at the room when they checked in at the four seasons. The room was beautiful, it had an antique feel to it, that made it like some classic love story movie but she had been most taken with the huge balcony overlooking the Seine river.

"Dale Smith, we are in the most romantic country in the world, we are not spending the day in bed"

"I thought you might say that, so" he gently kissed her lips "Today I thought a trip to the Eiffel tower, then a picnic at Champ de Mars Park and then I have booked a sunset cruise along The Seine"

"Oh my gosh, who are you and what have you done with the real Dale Smith?"

"I love you and I want you to know how amazing you are"

"I love you too, you are my whole world and I honestly don't know where I would be without you"

"Stevie, you are my everything and I will always be behind you with everything you need, I'll probably be staring at your arse but I promise you, I would always be there" he moved into her lips and started kissing her passionately.

The day has been one of the best of her life, it had been filled with Smithy being at his most romantic, she had never seen this side to him and had never in her life been made to feel so special. She had on a beautiful dress, that Smithy had bought her, during their day out. He had dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, which was definitely unusual for him, however he looked amazing. He held her hand as she stepped on to the boat, she had been expecting an average river cruise but here she was climbing onto a private boat, a beautiful table was set out with champagne and a luxurious meal. They had eaten happily and now sat cuddled on the viewing bench, staring out at the Eiffel tower that they had today climbed. He had wrapped his jacket round her shoulders and held her close. "Stevie" he whispered into her ear, she moved from his body to look at him "There is something I want to ask you?"

"Okay" she spoke as he gently placed his lips to hers.

"Stevie, you are my one and only and I didn't understand love until I met you and that's why" she watched him move to his knee as he pulled the small box from his trouser pocket. "Stevie Moss, will you marry me?"

"Oh my god" she responded, she sat slightly dumbstruck, he looked nervous, worried even. She smiled at his concern, he really didn't need it. "Of course I will marry you Smithy" she beamed down at him. He moved up and into her lips, his passion taking over.

"You had me worried for a minute there Stevie" he grinned as he sat back next to her. He took the ring from the box and pushed it onto her finger.

"It's beautiful Smithy" she spoke as her eyes remained glued to the cluster of diamonds set in the white gold band. "Thank you" she kissed his lips "I can't believe we are going to get married"

"Yeah, we need to let my bank balance recover a little first though" he laughed, she registered him gesture to the man driving the boat before he pointed to the sky. He pulled her into his arms as the fireworks began to fill the Paris skyline.

Stevie felt elated, she finally had the most amazing man and now she was engaged. After the fireworks, they had returned to the hotel, where she was sure she had seen a different sort of fireworks, before she had fallen asleep wrapped up in his arms. When she awoke, early on the Sunday morning, she grinned as she fiddled with her ring. She placed her hand to his bare chest before placing her lips to his. She pulled back and noticed a smile grace his features. "Good morning future Mrs Smith". His eyes opened and she pecked his lips once again.

"Morning Smithy" she responded.

"You happy?"

"I couldn't be happier Smithy" she spoke, his fingers entwined with hers and he rose her hand to look at her ring. "So what's the plan for today?"

"A day in bed?" he laughed, he gently touched her lips "We have reservations for lunch at Guy Savoy and then I thought we could check out some of the jewellers, look for our wedding rings?"

"That sounds perfect Smithy" she kissed his lips and sighed "I wish we didn't have to go home tonight, I have had such an amazing weekend".

"Talking about going home, I was hoping you would officially move in? Stop looking for some where to live and we will live together"

"Properly live together?"

"Yeah, I mean, we have been anyway but I want to put you on the paperwork, so it's our place?"

"Smithy, there is nothing I want more".

The weekend had flown by and Stevie felt sad to be returning home. She had been sat on the sofa, cuddling Houdini, she had missed the fast growing kitten. Smithy appeared in the door way with a bottle of wine and two glasses. He moved to sit next to her and poured them both a drink. "Thank you Smithy, I have had an incredible weekend"

"I can think of something to make it a perfect ending". He moved in to her body and began to kiss her passionately, he moved Houdini to the floor and his body leant over hers. He noticeably sighed as the doorbell rang and his lips instantly seemed hers out once again. "Just ignore it" he spoke.

"It could be important Smithy" she replied as his lips moved down onto her neck. She knotted her hands into his hair and moaned in enjoyment. The doorbell rang again and she pulled him back slightly "Smithy, they aren't going away"

"What am I meant to do with this?" he grumbled as he rearranged himself before he headed out the living room door. He returned a few moments later, followed by Neil.

"Stevie" Neil spoke "I have some news"

"What?" she asked "What's going on Neil?". The superior officer looked worried and she knew he was about to blow her happiness out of the water. Smithy rested down next to her and took hold of her hand.

"We have found Declan" he smiled "He is dead Stevie".
