Chapter 31: The Escape
A year later….
The time has finally come.
Malakis was in stasis for the day.
Now Sam could finally escape!
Vader was leading Sam, Nifty, One-One and Barriss to his personal hangar.
Sam stayed close to his father.
Vader said, "we'll have to move fast. I've got the right ship for you to use."
Sam asked, "which one, Dad?"
Vader pointed and said, "that one."
Sam then saw the ship his father was pointing to.
It was an old gray ship that looked like a cargo shuttle.
Vader said, "the Twilight. This is the ship Ahsoka and I used during the Clone Wars."
"Whoa! Mama Soka did tell me stories about it", Sam said in awe.
Vader couldn't help but chuckle before he said, "you can use it to get away from here and back to the Rebellion."
Nifty exclaimed, "thanks!"
Barriss said, "we are more than grateful."
"One-One, you and the others get on the ship and begin to start it up", Sam said.
One-One said, "yes Master Sam."
One-One, Nifty and Barriss went onto the ship.
Sam then turned to look at his father.
Vader said, "I guess this is goodbye."
Sam then hugged his father.
"Dad…. I don't know if I can leave you behind…. I'm worried that Malakis will hurt you", Sam said.
Vader said, "he won't hurt me too much. He needs me. And I promise I'll be fine. The Rebellion…. Your friends…. Family…. They need the Grand Master of the Jedi to lead them to victory."
Sam had tears fall down his face.
He hugged his father again.
"I promise dad that I will come back for you…. I will free you from that monster", Sam cried.
Vader smiled and said, "I know you will."
Vader wiped Sam's tears with his thumb as he said, "I have something for you."
Sam asked, "what is it?"
Vader then took out from his pocket…. A japor snippet. He had carved it into a little totem.
Sam gasped when he saw it.
Vader said, "it's a momento."
Sam holds the japor snippet in his hand.
He smiled and said, "I'll bring it everywhere with me."
Sam then hugged his father again.
"I love you dad…. And I will come back to free you", Sam said softly.
Vader once again smiled and said, "I know you will."
Vader then kissed Sam's forehead.
Sam smiled tearfully and said, "goodbye dad."
Vader said, "goodbye, my son."
Sam then let go of his father as he walked towards the ship.
He gave one last look to his dad before he entered the ship and the door closed.
The Twilight then took off into the air….
Barriss was piloting the ship.
Sam kept staring at the Japor Snippet.
He held it close.
He already missed his father.
It was so surreal to leave after nearly a year.
But Sam vowed he would free his father. But for now, he needed to find somewhere to land and lay low for a few hours.
One-One said, "there is a nearby planet for us to land."
Sam asked, "which planet is it?"
"Dantooine", One-One said.
Sam said, "Revan trained on this planet. There must be another temple there we could hide at."
The Twilight then entered lightspeed as it headed towards Dantooine….
….
A few minutes later….
The Twilight was now landing on the planet of Dantooine.
Barriss said, "here we are."
Everyone began to walk out of the ship.
The air was fresh and crisp.
Sam could feel something in the force.
He said, "follow me. I feel something."
The others began to follow Sam.
Sam led them through a large field.
One-One rolled beside Sam.
He asked, "where are we going?"
"I feel something strong in the force…. It's guiding me somewhere…. But I don't know where", Sam said.
Nifty said, "I'm sure we'll find out soon."
The group kept following Sam.
Soon they came across…. A Jedi Temple?
Sam said, "woah."
Nifty said, "it's so big!"
Barriss said, "I wonder what's inside."
"Let's go see", Sam said.
The group entered the temple.
The temple looked very old as there was plant life everywhere.
Plants and vines littered the walls and murals.
Sam felt something familiar about this temple. A strange connection to it.
"It looks like no one lives here", One-One said.
"Who goes there?!"
Everyone jumped in surprise.
They saw a ferocious shadow on the wall!
Sam quickly turned into his beast form.
He stood protectively in front of everyone.
The shadow was getting closer.
But it seemed to grow…. Smaller…?
"I said who goes there!?"
Out stepped a small creature covered in blue fur, resembling a dog, with a head that looked like a skull with two horns, one of which was broken. He had big yellow eyes.
Sam and the others gasped.
"IT'S SO CUTE!"
Sam ran over and picked up the creature and said, "so cute! Whose a widdle cutie. Is it you? Yes it is! Yes you are!"
The creature thrashed in Sam's arms as it struggled to get free.
He yelled, "let me go! I'm a fearsome beast!"
Sam giggled.
He said, "you're so small, fluffy and adorable!"
The creature kept thrashing.
Sam petted the little guy with a smile.
The creature grumbled. Sam let him down.
Sam asked ,"what's your name little guy?"
The creature yelled, "I am KING!"
Sam giggled and said "aww! What a cute name!"
King said, "I am not cute! I am a terrifying beast!"
"Sure you are", One-One said.
King yelled, "fear me and bring me offerings!"
"Uhhh…. No", Barriss said.
Nifty said, "we don't even have offerings."
King grumbled.
Sam asked, "what's a little guy like you doing here in this temple?"
King crossed his arms and then he explained.
"My species has guarded this temple for centuries, with a specific task. To wait for the descendant of our closest ally to arrive. I am the last one left…."
Barriss asked, "closest ally?"
King nodded and pointed to a nearby mural.
The group saw the mural…. It depicted Revan!
Sam went wide-eyed.
Sam said, "Uncle Revan?"
Revan appeared.
He said, "you rang?"
Sam pointed to the mural.
Revan gasped in shock.
Revan and Sam slowly turn to look at each other.
Sam asked, "do you remember this place?"
Revan said, "yes…. From long ago."
Revan placed his hand on the mural.
He whispered, "so very long."
Sam then placed his hand on the mural.
Sam asked, "what do you remember about this place?"
Revan was in deep thought…. Then he said out loud….
"I told the Titans to aid my descendant."
"And that descendant, would be the only one to summon the sword Revan wields", King said.
Sam and Revan both went wide-eyed and stared at each other.
Sam said, "we're…."
"... family", Revan said.
The two slowly began to smile at one another.
Sam then hugged Revan. Revan hugged back.
The others smiled at the sight.
King asked, "wait…. Lord Revan? This is your descendant?"
Revan nods his head.
King then looked at Sam.
King then said, "sorry for behaving so rude earlier!"
Sam said, "it's fine. You didn't know who I was."
Sam then turned to look at Revan.
Sam then asked, "since you are my ancestor…. I guess that makes you my grandpa?"
Revan said, "I guess so…. Glad to know my bloodline lived on…. How it went from Revan to Skywalker, I've got no idea."
Sam hugged Revan again.
Regan smiled as his descendent hugged him close.
"That would explain why the force is so strong with my family", Sam said.
Revan said, "indeed."
"But I'm so happy to find out we're family…. Grandpa", Sam said as he smiled softly.
Revan chuckled and said, "yes! I've gone from Uncle to Grandpa!"
Sam hugged Revan even more as he kept smiling in joy.
Barriss and Nifty smiled at this.
"Imagine Luke and Leia's reaction when they find out", Sam said.
One-One said, "speaking of which, I bet we're all excited to return to our friends. My records indicate they're currently on a Rebel base on Jakku.
Sam asked, "Jakku? That junkyard planet?"
One-One nods his head.
Nifty asked, "why there?"
"Perhaps because the Empire wouldn't dare to look on a desert planet", One-One said.
"Makes sense", Barriss said.
Sam said, "well, looks like we're all headed to Jakku."
King asked, "wait, can I go with you all?"
Sam said, "absolutely!"
King then let out a squeal of joy.
Everyone went, "awwwwww."
Sam squealed out, "oh King's cuteness is killing me! He is so cute!"
King grumbled.
….
We then see the planet of Jakku and see the base on the planet.
The Rebels were all off and about.
We then see Luke.
He sat in the hangar with R2 sitting next to him.
He did this often.
Namely due to his brother being far, far away.
He was worried about his little brother, he and the others could not take their minds off Sam.
They hoped he was okay.
Even though Sam was able to send messages to them, that he was okay…. Luke just wanted to see his little brother again.
R2 began beeping.
Luke asked, "what is it, Artoo?"
R2 beeped again.
Luke said, "a ship is approaching?"
R2 beeped a yes.
Luke then got up as he went to see outside and he saw a ship was approaching the base.
It was the Twilight!
Luke then got out of the way as the Twilight landed in the hangar.
The ship's ramp then opened.
Revan slid down the ramp and yelled, "wazzup!"
Luke jumped in surprise.
He said, "Revan?"
"The one and only", Revan said.
Then Luke saw…. Sam walked down the ramp!
Luke exclaimed, "Sam!"
Sam smiled as he ran to Luke.
The two brothers hugged.
"I missed you big brother", Sam said.
Luke said, "I missed you too."
Sam kept hugging Luke and then he heard gasps of shock. Sam looked behind his brother.
He saw his mother, Leia, Eda, Ahsoka, Hunter, Ventress, Satine and Ned-B
Sam smiled and said, "hey everyone."
Everyone shouted as they ran over, "SAM!"
They all basically tackled Sam to the ground.
Sam giggled in joy.
He said, "I missed you all so much."
"We missed you too", Ahsoka said.
Everyone stood up.
Sam said, "I've got so much to tell you all."
"And we are stoked to hear about it", Eda said.
Sam said, "first off, I've got some new friends to show you all."
On cue, Nifty, King and Barriss walked down the ramp
Ahsoka gasped when she saw Barriss.
Barriss looked a little nervous.
Ahsoka asked, "what's she doing here?"
"She has been a spy for the rebels for a long time and has been seeking redemption for her past", Sam said.
That was a shock to Ahsoka.
Ahsoka turned to look at Barriss.
Barriss looked down as she felt nervous about what Ahsoka was gonna say.
Ahsoka slowly approached.
"You have every right to be mad at me…. But I am so sorry for everything I did", Barriss said.
Barriss waited for the harsh words to come.
But what Ahsoka said next took Barriss by surprise.
Ahsoka hugged her!
Barriss went wide-eyed. As did everyone else.
"I forgive you…. Barriss", Ahsoka said.
Barriss gasped in shock.
Then tears formed in her eyes.
She slowly hugged back.
Sam smiled at the sight. It was touching to hear.
Sam then felt his mother hug him.
Sam smiled and said, "I missed you, mom."
"I missed you too, my baby boy", Padme said softly.
Sam smiled.
Padme noticed the japor snippet on Sam's neck.
Padme asked, "did…. He, make that got you?"
Sam nods his head with a smile on his face.
He said, "he gave this to me before we left."
Now that made Padme emotional.
She gave a small smile.
"Dad has truly changed mom…. He protected me the entire time I was at his fortress", Sam said.
The group was quite shocked by all that.
Vader was truly now changing.
Leia gave a slightly skeptical look.
She still wasn't sure about Vader becoming a good person.
Sam then gave hugs to everyone.
"SAM!"
Sam was tackled to the ground again.
Sam saw it was his husbands and wife.
He smiled down at them.
"Hi my loves", Sam said.
Verosika said, "we missed you so much!"
"I can see that", Sam said.
Alastor said, "a whole year without our hubby!"
Sam giggled.
Lucifer said, "we ain't letting you go any time soon."
Sam giggled even more.
He and his lovers all stood up.
Then they began to drag Sam away from the others.
Sam asked, "what're you-"
But Prime covered his mouth.
Hordak said, "nearly a whole year has left us…. Pent up."
"One year without your dick is like depriving a Gungan of water", Verosika said.
Sam chuckled and said, "alright. You don't have to twist my arm."
"Sorry", they all said.
Sam then began to follow his husbands and wife to the room.
The others all chuckled and rolled their eyes.
That's when Hunter and Barriss looked at one another. They both blushed as everyone headed inside….
