Liliana's POV:
In the evening:
"Baby,"
A pair of arms wrap around my waist pulling me closer so my back touches his chest. "What's up?"
"Where did you get flowers from?"
My hands rearrange the beautiful roses in the crystal vase with a smile. "A person I know gave it to me."
His arms wrap tighter around my body. "Do I know this person?"
"Probably not." I start shifting the roses from the vase. "And let go. Can't you see I'm trying to beatify this?"
"Aw, does my wife not enjoy my hugs anymore?"
I lean back to meet his gold and silver eyes. His lips form a pout as my fingers pat his cheek. "You know that's not true, handsome but seriously," I gently loosen his grip around my arms. "I need to do this before tomorrow."
"Why?"
Why?
"Because if I don't, they will wilt."
"Wilt? Flowers don't wilt that fast."
I raise a brow as I turn around. "Is there a problem?"
"What problem?"
Hm…
"I feel like your tone is a bit off somehow."
His brows furrow in confusion. "I'm just asking you some questions that's all."
Yeah but his tone is a bit… hm…
I lean closer as my lips curve upwards. "I might be wrong but are you… jealous?"
His eyes widened as he backs away with a cough. "Jealous? Me? Why would you think that?"
Oh, he is definitely jealous.
"It's all displayed on your face, ice cube."
"Right…"
Denial at the finest.
I turn back to placing the roses in the vase. "You know what?" I bring a flower close to my nose. "The scent of it is so calming."
"Calming huh?"
"Mhm," My lips curve into a smirk. "If you got me flowers, I would be the happiest woman in the world."
"I thought you didn't like them."
Is he for real?
My eyes snap to my husband's. "You're kidding, right?" I fold my arms over my chest as he looks blankly at me. "Ok, first of all, I never said that and secondly, just because I don't like something doesn't mean that I don't want you to gift it to me."
"But… what's the point of receiving something you don't like?"
"You-" I bite the inside of my cheek at his clueless expression. Does he not get the mind of a woman? "Why did I marry such a clueless husband?"
Not to mention a socially inept one while at it. I let out a sigh turning back to the table. He's so intelligent yet he fails to understand the thought process of a woman. How is that even possible?
A pair of arms wrap securely around my body. "Love bug,"
"What is it now?"
"I might be clueless but that's a good thing."
Huh?
My eyes drift back to his with a confused expression. "How on Astral World is that a good thing?"
"Because I have you, my lovely wife." He pecks my lips as my face grows warm. Ay! Stop blushing!
"And besides," A gasp escapes my lips as he hoists me up into his arms. "You fell for this clueless guy, honey."
"H-Hey," I gulp as he leans closer. "P-Put me down!"
"Why?"
"B-Because-Mph!"
Soft lips touch mine as butterflies flutter in my stomach. My heart rate increases as the guy kissing me pulls away with a charming smile.
"You sure you want me to do that?"
Argh! This happens every single time!
"You-"
"My dear wife," A shudder runs down my spine as I feel a hand slip under my dress towards my womanhood.
Oh no…
"C-Cut that out!"
He blinks tilting his head. "Cut what out?"
"Y-Your hand." I bite my tongue holding back a moan as my private aches. His cool fingers run along the edge of my panties. I grit my teeth keeping my breathing steady as a smirk graces his handsome face.
I… cannot… give in…
"Do you know how cute you look in this dress?" My body tenses as a warm tingling sensation flows into between my legs. Darn it!
"Babe," Breathe. That's it. Just breathe. "I really have to-"
"Can't you do it tomorrow?"
"But it won't look as good tomorrow."
My husband blinks with a sigh as he puts me down. "Alright but," He envelopes me tightly burying his head in the crook of my neck. "Allow me to hug you."
Why is he so touchy today? Not that I'm complaining or anything but it's odd.
"Of course, my love."
Astrana's POV:
I place my cup down as my parents let out another sigh. This is getting to him. I can already feel it.
"Have you tried apologizing?"
"I have but he wouldn't budge." My dad lets out a yawn as my mom pats his shoulder in a comforting manner. "At this point, I don't know what to do anymore."
True… if there was only a way he can accept his apology… everything would be fine and go back to the way it used to be.
"Honey, don't worry so much. He can't stay mad at you forever."
"I know," His green and red eyes meet hers. "But-"
"He's our son. There's no way-"
"It's because he's our son that I know him."
"Maybe this time will be different." I chime in as their eyes revert back to mine.
"This time is different. It's different as in I committed an unspeakable offense to my own son regarding the woman he loved."
"Love,"
"No, Enna. I shouldn't have done that to him. There were other ways but I literally chose the worst one! I caused-"
"Listen to me," Her hands grip his shoulders staring him down. "What's done is done. You did that because you didn't want him to be in pain. That was a bad move but what else can you do at that time?"
"Plenty! I could've-"
"Yes but you didn't and that's the thing." A breath escapes her lips. "What's done is done. Rather than blame yourself for it, shouldn't you be looking for a way to resolve this?"
"Tell me, what can I do now?" His tone rises throwing his arms in the air. "He didn't accept my apology. What can I do?"
Dad…
"Does he hate me?" His head buries itself in his hands with a groan. "What if-"
"Nonsense. There's no way he would hate you."
"It sure seemed like it." A mutter escapes his lips as my mom looks at me then back at my dad. "He's been ignoring me for over a month now."
"Yeah but that doesn't mean he hates you, honey."
"I agree with mom, dad. Astral doesn't hate you." If he does, he would ignore you completely. In this instance, there is still communication but limited. "I just think you two need to have a proper conversation about this."
"Our daughter is right. You need to-"
"You think I haven't tried?" My dad's eyebrows raise. "Every time I try to initiate a conversation with him, he finds an excuse to avoid me."
That is definitely problematic.
"Hm," She places a hand under her chin. "If only there was a way to convince him…"
If only…! I wonder…
"Mom, dad, I got a plan."
Maria's POV:
In the morning:
"You what?!"
"Shhh!" She clamps a hand over my mouth to stop me from yelling. "Do you want the whole world to know?"
I free myself from her crossing my arms. "Astrana, you don't think this is pushing it a bit?"
"I agree," My white haired friend chimes in. "She's his wife. She already has it tough as it is considering this relationship."
"I know that. You think I don't know this but…" A sigh escapes her lips. "My dad and my brother are drifting apart every single day. If this keeps up, I fear this will escalate."
"She's right," A masculine voice rings throughout my ears. "There are already rumors starting to form about this."
"Oh?"
"Yeah," His blue eyes meet mine. "The officials are getting tense over the fact that during the last court meeting, His Highness and His Majesty seemed to disagree over every little detail."
That's not good. If the royal family isn't in unison, it will make it easier for betrayals to happen and when that happens…
"But Brandon, don't you think bringing this up again will stir up old wounds? After all, he's in a good spot and the last thing I want is for him to isolate himself again."
"Yeah, what if bringing this up causes a relapse?" I stare as the two of them look at each other. "And besides, you know how Lily is. It's not easy for a woman to know her husband is still thinking about another woman."
She's in pain as much as it is. Why would we need to bring this back up? Can't we just let this die?
"Maria, Star, I know how you two feel but letting this go isn't going to work." My friend sighs flipping her hair over her shoulder. "If anything, it will cause them to drift further and further apart."
"I know but still…"
"To have her bring up Astraea…"
"What else can we do? I mean, you should've seen the meeting." He shivers. "I was lucky enough to get out of there alive."
Was it that bad?
"Auntie," A girl with two pig tails come up to my friend. "Mommy is missing again."
"Again?" She carries her in her arms with a sigh.
The girl nods. Her stunning eyes look into hers. "Can you play with me?"
"Of course, I…" Her eyes widened as a grin surfaces.
"I got it!"
Astral's POV:
"Dada, is something going on between you and grandpa?"
"Why would you assume that?" My hands flip through files of documents
"I just feel something is off… like the way you speak to him…"
Huh…
I glance up from my files to see my daughter sitting on the couch fiddling with her fingers. Why is she nervous?
"Is there something wrong with the way I talk?"
She looks towards her lap as I blink. What's the matter with her today? My feet glides over towards her, carrying her into my lap while sitting on the couch.
"Daddy?"
"Sweetheart," My fingers removes a lock from her face. "Why are you nervous?"
Her purple eyes widen as a pout forms on her lips. "I… don't want you to be mad at me." An audible whisper rings through my ears as my brows furrow.
Mad? What did she say to upset me? Did I unknowingly show anger?
"Why would I get mad?"
The girl in my lap stays quiet as a breath escapes my lips. "Is something the matter?"
She nods.
"Want to tell me what it is?"
A hesitant look flashes on her cute face as her eyes drift downwards. "Promise you won't get mad?"
Wait… did she do something outrageous? Hurt someone? Gotten hurt? Did she commit an unspeakable act?! No. No. No. That's simply not possible. She's only 2 and a half. What act could she have possibly committed?
"Promise." My pinky interlocks with hers. "No matter what you did, I won't get mad."
The expression of relief crosses her face as she holds my hands. "Then, can you make up with grandpa?"
What…?
I blink at her as her head tilts to the side cutely. "I don't know what happened but I want you to be happy like before."
Is this about…
"Silly," My lips strain a smile. "There's nothing going on between your grandpa and I."
"But then why you and grandpa haven't been talking like you used to?"
"I've been busy these last few days and…"
"Dada," Her eyes pierce mine as I trail off. "You're a liar."
My eyes widen at her words. Liar? "You dare accuse your father to be a liar?"
A melodic giggle escapes her lips. "You are." I poke her forehead as her brows wrinkle. "But I want you and grandpa to make up."
"What's there to make up?" My shoulders shrug biting the inside of my cheek. "I told you, you're overthinking-"
"Did he do something wrong?"
"He didn't-"
"Then why are you not talking to him?"
Oh, I've got a dozen of reasons to not talk to him.
At my silence, my daughter grips my hand with a serious look. "I don't know what he did but he's your dada."
(Flash):
"Her status is of that of a mere commoner. She holds no political power or prestige that will enable you to gain and consolidate power."
"That doesn't matter!" My voice raises as it echos throughout the room. "All that matter is-"
"It might not matter now but it will in the future." He stands from his throne. "I will not let my only son date such a useless individual."
(Flash)
"No. We have never kept anything from you that we deem beneficial."
(Flash)
A lump forms in my throat as I look down towards the girl in my lap. What if…
"What if…" Her purple eyes blink with a head tilt as I gulp. "What if… I did something to betray you? Would you forgive me?"
Ah, I must be nuts. What are you doing Astral? Asking a little girl this question? Have you really stooped this low?
"What does betray mean?"
"It means…" How to put it in simple terms? "For example, you tell me to look after your cookie so you can eat it later. But instead of doing that, I ate it. How would you feel?"
She blinks. "Why would you look after my cookie?"
My lips curve upwards a bit shaking my head. "It was an example."
Her brows furrow placing a hand under her chin clearly in deep thought. "I would be sad."
"Why?"
"Because it's my cookie and I didn't get a chance to eat it."
"Aside from sadness, what else would you feel?"
"Um…" Her shoulders shrug. "I don't know."
"Like… what would you feel towards me?"
She blinks again looking at me with a blank stare. Am I not wording this correctly or something?
A breath escapes my lips. "Wouldn't you be angry at me?"
My daughter blinks yet again in silence.
"You know, because I ate your cookie without permission?"
Is this too complexed for a 2 year old?
"Why would I be mad at you?"
What?
"Because I ate it without your permission…"
"So?"
…
…
…
Does she not understand this situation as well as I hoped?
"I… uh…"
"Daddy, you must've have a good reason to eat the cookie, right?"
"Yeah, I was hungry."
"So how can I get mad at you for that?"
Really?
"You're… not angry at me for eating it?" My eyebrow raises as she nod with a grin.
"Why would I be mad at you for a little thing like that?" A hand pats my cheek. "Besides, you said you were hungry."
"But I ate it without your permission though…"
"You said you were hungry though."
"Just because I was hungry, you let me eat the cookie?" I ask as she nods.
"Yuppie!"
Huh…
"Just to clarify, you won't be angry if I just eat your food without asking?"
"Why would I?" Her head tilts blinking a bit. "You would've had a good reason to do so, right?"
"Yes, but-"
"Yeah. So why would I get mad at that? You were hungry so you eat food. Isn't that what you and mommy taught me?"
"Yes." My eyes lock with hers. "But Melody, wouldn't you feel hurt if I wronged you somehow?"
She raises a brow. "But… you just ate a cookie though…"
"Okay," I place my hands on her shoulders. Let me do it this way. "Yes, I ate your cookie. The cookie that you entrusted me to keep an eye on. But instead of saving it for you, I ate it. Wouldn't my actions make you feel betrayed?"
…
…
…
"Dada," A small hand lays on my cheek. "How can I be mad at you?"
What…?
"But…"
A smile appears on her lips as she pecks mine swiftly pulling away. What…? My eyes widen at her actions as my hand unconsciously rubs my lip in disbelief. Did she just…
"I love you too much to be mad at you." Her head leans on my chest wrapping her little arms around it.
What the…? Huh?! Wait, wait, wait… what just happened? Is she really not angry? And did she kiss me on the lips?
"Are…" My eyes drift to the young girl in my arms. "Are you really not mad at me?"
"Nope because I know you did that for a reason."
(Flash):
"It was either erase your memory or look at you isolate yourself in guilt and regret for the rest of your life."
(Flash)
"What if it was intentional?"
Her brows furrow as I continue.
"What if… I didn't have a reason for eating that cookie?"
"Then why did you eat it without a reason?"
"What if my intention was to hurt you because you disobeyed my orders?"
Her eyelashes flutter with each blink as a pout appears on her lips. "Am I a bad daughter?" My eyes widen as tears shine in her big eyes. "What did I do for you to use that as a mean of punishment?"
"Snowflake," I carry her closer so she straddles my lap. "Why would you ever think that?" My fingers dry her cheeks as I peck her forehead. "You've done nothing wrong.
"Then why did you say that?"
"That was just a-"
"Did you disobey grandpa, dada?"
(Flash):
"I'll quit this role of Prince."
(Flash)
I bite the inside of my cheek. I guess… yeah.
"Sort of,"
Her lips purse drawing into a thin line. A distant gaze shines in her eyes as silence fills the room. What is she thinking about so deeply?
"Are you sure there isn't any way for you two to go back to the way you used to be?"
I…
My fist clenches. If that means going back to forgetting about Astraea. If that means going back to living a lie. If that means going back to being clueless and naive. If that means going back and blindly getting betrayed again and living through this… no.
"Never."
We can never go back to the way things were.
"Daddy…" A whisper rings throughout my ears as a small figure hugs me tightly.
Estrella's POV:
"Give it."
Her purple eyes blink with a head tilt. "Give what?"
"You know what." My eyes narrow holding out a hand. "Hand them over."
The room grows silent as I lock eyes with my half-sister. I can't believe she would stoop that low just to frame my friend!
"I'm afraid I don't understand-"
"The photos. I know you hired someone to take them. Hand them over."
…
…
…
A clueless expression etched into her face as she blinks raising a brow. "Photos? What are you talking about?" Her body rises from the couch staring at me in concern. "Are you feeling alright?"
That innocent façade…
"It's only the two of us in this room," I said after a moment of silence. "Your lies won't work on me."
"Now," My feet starts to approach her. "Give them here."
"I still don't understand what you're getting at…"
Playing the innocent role huh? A soft sigh escapes my lips. I didn't want to do this but…
"I don't know why you're doing this but shut it down." My eyes lock onto hers with an icy glare. "I mean it, Katherine. Nothing and I mean nothing good comes with messing with the royal family especially when it comes to the Prince of all beings."
The woman in front of me raises an eyebrow feigning confusion. "Why would I do something like that?"
Because for some reason, you want him all to yourself.
We stare at each other as the only sound in the room is the ticking of the clock. Why won't she admit it? Moreover… if she says the truth then who has the photos?
Star's POV:
Who was that man?
(Flash):
"Hey Brandon," I shoot him a wave as he waves back approaching me.
"What a coincidence." He pulls out a chair across from me and sits down. "Never thought I would meet you here."
"Well," My eyes shifts from him to the masses of beings below. "I have to get out of the palace once in a while. Plus, it's peaceful here."
"Yeah," A breath escapes his lips as his body shift towards the beings. "I guess it really is peaceful."
With everything that's going on lately… the undeniable tension between the king and prince is enough to make a person go insane. Not only that, Katherine seems to be actively trying to break up my friend's marriage.
"How have they been doing?"
"They?" My gaze turns back to my friend as he sips coffee. "You mean Astral and Lily?"
"Who else?"
How to say this…
"Well," Hm… where to start?
His eyes widen leaning forward. "Don't tell me they got into an argument again?"
"No no. That's all resolved but there's a new problem now."
He blinks blankly picking up his cup again. "And that is?"
"Well, a lady named Katherine just entered the palace and-"
My friend freezes at her name. His blue eyes widen and lock onto mine. "Katherine? Like the Katherine? The Katherine who's the daughter of a super rich and powerful multi-millionaire?"
Super rich and powerful millionaire? I never knew that she had such power behind her.
"Yes?"
"Purple hair and eyes? Slender frame?"
"She's the one."
The guy in front of me slouches back into his chair with a breath. "Are you kidding me right now? Just what on earth are you planning, Astral?" He mutters as I raise a brow.
Huh? What is he speaking about?
"Hey, um…" His complexion grows significantly pale as he massages his temples. "You're looking a bit pale… are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Star." My friend leans forward with a serious look. "I need you to tell me, has anything happened in the palace lately?"
What is he…
"Uh…" I place a hand under my chin. "The baby was somehow poisoned and it seems like Katherine is trying to come in between Astral and Lily."
"She actually poisoned a-" He bites his lips. "I can't even… ugh!"
"Is something the matter?" I ask after a moment as he meets my gaze.
"Ah," A chuckle escapes. "No. Nothing is. Don't worry about it."
Uh-huh… right. Your acting could use some work.
My eyes drift towards the cherry tree down below as the array of beings flood the streets going about their daily lives. If everyday can be like this with no war, then things would be so ideal.
"Lily, over here." A masculine voice rings throughout the crowd as my eyes drift towards a brown haired man with stunning ocean blue eyes carrying a bouquet of pink roses.
"Sorry I'm late." A black haired woman rushes towards him wearing a pink dress with a denim jacket and white sandals.
"It's fine." A small smile flashes on his lips. "I just got here."
"You wouldn't believe how hard it is to leave the palace. I had to find a good excuse for my bodyguard not to follow me everywhere."
A laugh escapes him. "I see. But now you're here. That's the most important part."
"I got you a little something." He gives her the pink bouquet of roses as she blinks in disbelief.
"These are absolutely gorgeous!" Her lips curve up into a bright smile. "Thank you so much!"
"Anything for you."
"But seriously, you don't have to get me flower every time we meet."
He shrugs. "It suits you."
A giggle escapes her lips as she digs through her purse to pull out a box of chocolates. "If I remember correctly, you have a sweet tooth, right?"
A smirk flashes on his lips as he accepts the box generously. "You memory is as sharp as ever."
My friend's eyes roll. "Shall we get going?"
"After you, Your Highness."
(Flash)
Who is that guy? What's their relationship?
Astral's POV:
"Estrella?" I open my bedroom door to see my green eyed friend. "Did you need something?"
"I need to talk to you."
I blink as she strolls into the room plopping herself on the couch.
"What about?" I swing the door shut sitting across from her.
"What do you think about Katherine?"
Why is she asking?
"Why are you asking?"
"I'm curious."
I doubt it. Hm… considering that they are half-sisters, I got to be careful how I respond.
"She's nice." I start out placing a hand under my chin. "A sensible woman who is very pretty."
That should be enough. Albeit, none of that is true besides the pretty part. Her looks are fairly attractive though the difference is night and day compared to my lovely wife that is.
My friend blinks in shock as her eyes widen. "What? Did you just say she's a sensible woman?"
"Mhm."
"What the…" She lets out a breath. "You're kidding, right?"
"Um… no,"
"Do you not see her plan, Astral?" Her arms swipe up in frustration as I tilt my head to the side. "Seriously? With your intellect, surely you can see what she's doing here!"
I don't get it. Why is she exposing her own sister?
"Tell me," My legs cross. "What plan are you talking about?"
Perhaps… I can coax some information from her.
The woman in front of me bites her lip avoiding my gaze. "I… just don't get too close to her."
"Why's that?"
"Just don't get too close to her. It's best for you."
Huh… guess she still won't reveal it. Well, family comes first after all.
My lips curve into a smirk. "How close are you talking about?"
An exaggerated sigh escapes her with a facepalm. "Like don't reciprocate her flirting and you'll be fine."
"Way ahead of you." My arm waves with a scoff. "Who do you think I am? I'm married. Even if I flirt back, my wife would most likely kill me."
A giggle rings though my ears. "Considering what happened when you brought home a newborn baby, I'll prep for your funeral."
"Heyyyyy!"
She rolls her eyes with a smile. "Oh, by the way," Her face turns serious. "Look after Lily, okay?"
"And why wouldn't I look after my own wife?"
"It's a reminder that's all."
Hm… if she's say that… does that mean Katherine will make her move?
5 minutes later:
(Knock)(Knock)
"Brother, I need to speak to you."
The door flies open as my sister walks in. "Astrana, haven't you learned anything from last time? Knocking then bursting in a millisecond later isn't really ideal."
"Whatever. Lily isn't here so no chance of what happened last time to happen again."
She plops herself happily on the couch next to me as I let out a soft sigh. "That's not the point." This sister of mine. "What if I was changing or something huh?"
"So? It's not like I haven't seen you shirtless before."
I blink at her. Oh my poor sister. Why is she so innocent?
"Anyway, what can I do for you, little sis?"
"Oh yeah," A force pulls me in by the neck as gold eyes narrow into mine. "Listen to me, don't get too close to that purpled haired witch."
Uh…
"Purple-haired witch?"
"Who else has purple hair around here?"
She doesn't mean…
I burst out laughing as her grip tightens on my collar. "I'm serious, big bro. If you keep this up, your relationship will be in trouble!"
Purple… haired… witch… hahahaha! I know she's not a good person but referring to her as such is a bit mean.
"My relationship?" My fingers loosely undo her grip as I readjust my shirt. "Exactly how will getting close to her endanger my relationship?"
"Are you kidding me?" She screeches. "Are you that clueless and oblivious? Can't you see she's actively trying to get in between you and your wife?!"
Even she can see it? Wow, talk about subtle.
"Of course I can see that." I respond after a moment as she huffs crossing her arms. "And why are you so concerned about this anyway?"
"Excuse me?" An eyebrow raises as she looks at me with a disbelieving expression. "You're my brother! Of course I'm concerned about this. Also," Her eyes narrow once more. "If you dare divorce Lily-"
My eyes widen. What?!
"Divorce?! Why would you ever think-"
"Ah, ah, ah." A finger connects with my lips as my sister glares at me. "Let me finish."
Why would she ever think I'll divorce my wife?
A hand pulls me in by my shirt collar as our noses touch. "I swear, if you dare divorce her, you'll suffer the consequences not only from me, but from everyone. That includes our friends as well." My sister's grip tightens. "And if my sister-in-law gets replaced by that wicked witch, Katherine, oh I swear you will never be happy. I will never and I mean never forgive you."
"You got that, Astral?"
…
…
…
What the… did she threaten me?
My fingers loosen her grip with a curve of the mouth. "It's nice to know that you like my wife so much."
"I'm serious. If you-"
"Alright, alright." I place my hands on top of hers. "First of all, who on Astral World said I will divorce her? And-"
"Then care to explain this?" My sister summons up a pile of papers and slams it on the glass table.
Those are…
My heart beats faster as she glares at me. "Why did I find these in a drawer?"
"Where did you… they were locked in a drawer… how did you…"
"I have my ways." Her golden eyes narrow. "Brother, what are you thinking?! Why on earth would you want to divorce her?"
Why did I not throw them away when I gotten the chance? Ah great. How will I explain this to her?
(Pulse)
Great… him again.
I let out a sigh. "Must you do this now, Dark? I'm trying to-"
"Katherine placed listening devices all across the room when you were absent today."
"What?! She placed them around the room yet now you notify me?"
"I just now sensed them."
As if things can't get any worse.
"Do you know where they are located?"
"No. My guess is she used a spell to disguise them."
Isn't this an invasion of privacy? You'll go as far as listening to me in private?
"I'm assuming you know what to do?"
"Thanks for the heads up. I was so distracted by my sister that I failed to notice them."
"No need to worry." A smirk crawls on his lips. "Can you let me out though? Just a bit?"
"No."
"Please! I'm bored! And think about it, who is more capable of this plan than me? I can get close to Katherine and expose her secrets while playing the role of an affection husband."
Hm… that might not be such a bad idea…
"I swear on my life, I will be good. I won't do anything to harm your wife, daughter, sister, parents, and friends."
"I-"
(Pulse)
My body shakes as my vision blurs. "Wake up!"
"What on earth are you doing?" I stutter out as a relieved expression crosses her face.
"I thought you were dead or something."
I pinch the edge of my nose bridge with an eye roll. Just like that, I lost the connection between Dark and I. On another note… My eyes scan the room cautiously. Hm… where are the listening devices?
"Bro!"
"What is it now?" I ask a bit irked looking back at a pair of golden eyes.
"Are you okay?"
Far from it. I had many stalkers before but they never went far as to plant listening devices in my room before. On another note, what do I say?
(Pulse)
I wince at the sudden pounding headache slamming into my skull. Where did that come from?
Wait a minute…
"Dark? You there?"
"I'm here."
Another pulsing pain rams into my head as I grit my teeth. "What is happening?"
"Hm…" His hand lays under his chin. "Perhaps it's because our connection suddenly got severed."
"How does that make sense?"
"You ask me who should I ask?"
"Wait, shouldn't you suffer the consequences as well? Why is it only me?"
"I don't know…"
(Pulse)
And… it disconnected again. Why does it keep doing this?
A hand touches my arm as her angry disposition morphs into concern. "Brother,"
"I'm fine."
"But-"
"But nothing. I said I'm fine."

"Does your head hurt?"
"What do you think?" A snarl escapes my lips as my eyes widen. Did I just…

The being next to me frowns as the room grows silent. Why did I snap at her like that?
