"So I heard your father is coming for a visit?" Alexander asked Sam.
"Yes, the Tok'ra think one of the Goa'uld may be hiding on Earth. One that was left behind when the Goa'uld abandoned Earth 5,000 years ago. They want our help to find him. He goes by Seth or Set."
"So why am I here? Not that I wouldn't like to meet your father. The fact that these Tok'ra are the same species as the Goa'uld, but don't take hosts by force or rule over humans is interesting. I wonder what kind of feeling one of them will give me? Every Goa'uld I've met gives off the same feeling Junior does, hate waves."
"You're here, Leutenant because we want you to go undercover. Seth's cult is mostly young people around your age. I know you haven't had any training in this yet, but you're the youngest person on base. We'd like you to at least try. If you can get inside, then you can disable him and we can take custody of him."
"Wow. Wasn't expecting that. Sounds simple enough. Main thing would be to not get caught. Okay, I'm willing to try."
"Come on, we'll introduce you to dad." Colonel O'Neill said.
Alexander's lips twitched. He was well aware of the fact that Jack and Sam liked each other. Sooner or later, they'd do something about it.
"Hey, dad."
"Jack. Who's this?"
"Lt. Alexander Harris, U. S. Army, sir." Alexander saluted General Carter.
"Alexander is my son, dad. He arrived last year from another reality." Colonel O'Neill told General Carter.
"Really? That's a new one. So you told Jack you were his son?"
"No, I had no idea. At least I don't know if I did. Whatever process brought me here, erased most of my memory. It's interesting to meet you, General Carter. I can sense the symbiote in you. The one in Teal'C gives off waves of hate. Yours is rather neutral. I can tell it's there, but that's it."
Gold eyes flashed and a dual toned voice asked. "You are aware of me?"
"Yes, I am. I don't know how, I just am."
"That's why Alexander is going to be the one infiltrating Seth's compound." Sam said. "That ability, whatever makes it possible, means he'll be able to confirm the presence of the Goa'uld. He's also in the age group Seth prefers to recruit."
"How old are you, Alexander?" The dual toned voice asked.
"I'm eighteen and a half."
"And you're already a Leutenant?" General Carter was back in control.
"I was an enlisted Private when I arrived here, sir. On General Hammond's recommendation, I attended and graduated from OCS. I'm currently attending Colorado State's local branch, studying Astronomy and am the junior officer on SG 22."
"He's doing well, too. His first week here, he caught alien infiltrators, pissed off a politician and helped negotiate with said aliens for trinium."
"You sound proud, Jack." General Carter.
"I am. Especially the pissing off the politician part."
"Yeah, I always enjoyed that too. Well, shall we go? We have a Goa'uld to catch."
Once they arrived in the area of Seth's compound, Alexander went for a walk. He'd been briefed on the fact that the cultist dressed a certain way. He went looking for them. Once he did, he waited for them to approach him and begin their recruitment pitch. He agreed to go with them. Once inside, he was brought before Seth.
"What is your name?" The dual tone asked. This one didn't give off hate waves, but it certainly wasn't neutral. Arrogant, definitely.
"Alexander."
"Alexander, I have a gift for you. Soon you will understand, I am a god." Pink mist began to flow out of the braziers on either side of Seth. As it reached Alexander, he reacted. With sneezes.
"What is that stuff? It stinks."
"It is nish'ta. How you resisting it?"
"Because it stinks? How should I know. What's it supposed to do anyway? Because I don't think you're a god."
Seth raised his hand, a gold device wrapped around his arm with a jewel on the palm and activated it, hitting Alexander in the forehead. Instead of intense pain, he began to experience a seizure, so violent the beam couldn't stay in place and Seth deactivated it. Alexander stopped seizing.
"What the Hell are you trying to do to me?!"
Seth opened his mouth to issue an order. An order Alexander was sure involved his death and he surged forward and hit Seth in the throat, grabbing and twisting the device on his arm and pulling it off. Alexander punched him and using a technique Teal'C had taught him, quickly knocked the Goa'uld out. Seth's cultists were staring at him, not understanding how this man had subdued their god. SG 1 arrived and began to secure people.
"Leutenant. let's get you checked out." Colonel O'Neill said to him, trying to contain himself. He'd been scared when he'd seen Alexander's reaction to the nish'ta and the seizure.
"Well Doc, how is he?" Colonel O'Neill asked Dr. Frazer. "What happened in there?"
"He had an allergic reaction to the nish'ta. Selmak says he's never seen anything like it. The seizure the hand device caused is something Selmak has seen before, he examined Alexander with his hand device and found no damage. He'll be fine, Colonel."
"You know, General Hammond said you being here was going to be interesting. He didn't know how right he was."
"It's good to know, I can keep surprising people."
