Two people showed up at Cheyenne Mountain the next morning carrying IDs they shouldn't have had. A boy of about fifteen and another boy of about ten. How he managed to drive the Jeep he arrived in is something of a mystery given that his feet shouldn't have reached the pedals. The IDs they were carrying were for Colonel Jack O'Neill and 1st Luetenent Alexander Harris.

"You do know you can get into alot of trouble impersonating an officer don't you.?" Sam asked.

"I'm not impersonating anyone. I went to bed in my apartment and woke up looking like this. You want proof? I convinced an entity possessing your body that we'd kill you as well as it, in order to protect our world." The miniature Alexander said.

"A Tok'ra named Jolinar gave her life to save yours, Carter. Had your Tretonin yet, Teal'C? And Danny boy, you recently got kicked out the Ascended club." The miniature Jack said.

"I convinced you to come home after SG 1 found you on the planet the Ascended dropped you naked on." Miniature Alexander said. "The first time I saw Teal'C, I attacked him. I have nearly no memory of my life prior to arriving in this reality."

"Okay, I'm convinced." Daniel said. "We need to figure out how this happened."

"Janet can take samples from you both and we can check out your places."

"Fine, the sooner we do it, the sooner we can get this fixed." Miniature Jack said.

Dr. Frazer's analysis turned up several interesting things.

"They're both clones." She told General Hammond. "But I found something else in Alexander's tests I didn't see before. An anomaly in his DNA. The Alexander we know, is also a clone. I compared his results now, to the initial tests I ran when he first got here. He's been a clone all along. Whatever process sent him here, his original body may not have survived it or the original may still be in his home reality. We may never know, especially given the fact that he doesn't know. I can't begin to explain how they managed to duplicate injuries and scars, either. I don't think the Asgard could that."

When SG 1 and Alexander arrived back, they were informed of the findings.

"I'm a clone of a clone? Like the Asgard? And my original body may be dead or still in my home reality. I'm still real, right? The Asgard are real and they've been cloning themselves for thousands of years."

"Stop it!" Miniature Jack said. "You're real enough for me and the original Jack's going to say the same thing."

"I wonder if this has anything to do with what Oma said."

"Oma? When did Oma talk to you?" Daniel asked.

"The day you Ascended. She told me my memories were still there, just locked away. That a specific trigger was needed to access them. That the people in my dreams, especially the girl, were real. That I'd see her again some day and that Jack is my chosen father. I tried to tell myself it's just because I'd choose him over whoever raised me. But it might be more. I might have picked him on purpose to be my father. Maybe I had a choice, what reality I would be sent to and I chose this one and consequently, this Jack."

"Maybe, but without your memories, we won't know. You said, Oma said you'd see this girl again. Did she say when?"

"Oma said she has to make a choice and when she makes that choice, Oma would make sure, she knew what her options were and then I'd see her again."

"Cryptic crap, as usual." Miniature Jack said.

"Question. If we're clones, where are the originals? Or in my case, the first clone?"

A good question that led to figuring out other people had been abducted and eventually figuring out, a rogue Asgard was responsible.

Meanwhile, on board Loki's ship, Loki woked the older Alexander up.

"Where am I?"

"You are aboard my vessel. I am Loki."

"You're an Asguard."

"I am. I wish to ask you some questions."

"First, you answer my questions. Why am I here?"

"I wish to study you and your father. When your father first came to us for assistance removing the database from his mind, we learned he was genetically advanced. As his son, you are even more so. I hope to construct a new clone and hoped your genetics would help me achieve this."

"Okay, I get that. I don't appreciate being abducted though and where's my father?"

"In the next room, he is unharmed, I assure you."

"Let me make sure of that and then I'll see if I can answer your questions."

"Very well." The little grey alien led him into the next room and Alexander saw Jack on a biobed. He quickly checked him and found he appeared to be asleep and unharmed.

"He seems fine. Go ahead and ask your questions.

"When were you cloned? Can you explain to me the process used to clone you? You are very stable, are you a new generation clone?"

"Woah, wait a minute. What are you talking about? Since when am I a clone?"

"For approximately four Earth years and perhaps a few months."

"Since I got here?"

"Got here?"

"I'm not from this reality. I arrived here a little over four years ago with virtually no memory of my past life. I had no idea I was a clone. And why are you studying us anyway. I thought the Asguard decided to go with my idea of constructing artificial bodies and downloading their consciousness into them. At least temporarily, until a better solution can be found."

"I was unaware of that. The Asgard Council and I are often at odds. They do not approve of my methods. You said you came from another reality. Was it via a Quantum Mirror?"

"No, Major Carter called it a reality shift. I just appeared and was glowing."

"That explains it. Your body would not have survived such a shift. Without the stabilizing forces of a Quantum Mirror, a new body would need to be constructed and your consciousness downloaded into it. It is unfortunate you do not remember the process. It would have helped my research. But it seems my research is no longer necessary."

Alexander took a deep breath. This was alot to think about. But the biggest question was, how would Jack take it?

"Could you wake my father up? I need to talk to him."

"Very well.

Once Jack was awake. Alexander explained what Loki had said.

"You're still my kid." Jack said. "That hasn't changed." Alexander sagged in relief.

"So now that you don't need us anymore, can we go home?" Alexander asked.

"I will need to dispose of the temporary clones I left in your domiciles."

"Temporary clones? There's more of us?!" Alexander exclaimed.

Which led up to beaming the clones up.

"Is there a reason they're mini uses?" Alexander asked, staring at the ten year old him. Jack was staring at the fifteen year old him.

"At least you're going to get to live. We just found out, we're not stable. In a matter of days, we'll be dead." Miniature Jack said.

"Fix it!" Alexander said, glaring at Loki.

"You wish your clone to live?"

"Yes. He doesn't deserve to die."

"Stabilizing him will erase his memory, resetting his mind to when you first arrived here."

"Can you go further back and erase it all? Because I had some knowledge when I arrived here."

"If that's the only way I can survive, do it." Miniature Alexander said.

Loki stabilized both clones and then the four were beamed down to the SGC. After explaining the situation to General Hammond and SG 1, along Dr. Frazer, General Hammond said.

"We'll need to find young Alexander a new home."

"I'll take him." Janet offered. "Cassie would like a brother or sister, god knows, she's hinted at it enough."

"Thank you, Janet, but no. He's my kid, just as much as Alexander is, he's coming home with me." Jack announced. "And given that he has no memory at all, he's going to need a name."

"How about George?" General Hammond offered. "It's a good name."

"Yum, no." Said little Alex. "I want to be Jesse."

Alexander looked startled.

"Alexander, what is it?"

"Are we sure Loki erased everything? Because that name is pinging the familiar button big time."

"We may never know. But Jesse is a good name." Jack said. "If Jesse is who you want to be, then Jesse is who you'll be."
