It was a calm night in China, specifically near the Great Wall. This wall was 21,196 km (13,171 mi) long and was built to protect China from nomadic nations in the northern regions. Somewhere in the nearby forest, a leaf fell on some pieces of charcoal that were still hot and caused the leaf to catch fire. The fire grew more prominent and spread across the forest causing tree trunks to fall to the ground. Pieces of the tree trunks landed on an egg capsule, cracking it open, and inside were two cards. One was grey and the other was a pale orange with a fire symbol. The flame grew closer to the cards and began glowing red once they reached the card. The glow grew bigger until it took the shape of a large green theropod dinosaur. The dinosaur roared and then shot a fireball from its mouth causing another part of the forest to catch fire. It roared again as the fire around it raged on.
-Cue intro theme-
On a mysterious island somewhere in the Pacific, Zander was testing a new invention while Rod and Ed watched. "Wow! This is fantastic!" Zander said in excitement as he jumped up and down higher than normal. "I love this! It's like I'm walking on air! I'll never take these off! I love them!" He said amazed by some springloaded shoes he was wearing while Rod and Ed were watching him.
"Cool, huh? I think it's one of our best inventions so far." Rod said.
"I wouldn't know; Zander won't take them off so I can find out," Ed said bummed out.
"So, if you run in those new jumping shoes, you can get all the way across a football field in only five steps," Rod said.
Suddenly, Zander began to lose control of the shoes. "Hey! Hey, how do you stop these crazy things?! Help! Aaah!" Zander said panicking.
"Zander, those are just a prototype! There's a button to shut'em off, but I can't remember where!" Rod shouted to Zander.
"Are you telling me I'm the first one to try these crazy things out?! Thanks a lot!" Zander said sarcastically as he continued jumping and crashed into an elevator tube. "Still going!" he yelled.
Meanwhile, Ursula was doing something she wouldn't normally do unless she was very bored. "So, tell me again why you're doing my hair again?" Lexi asked.
"Because you're the only other girl on the island with whom I can do this," Ursula said.
"But, isn't Laura also a girl too? Why didn't you ask her?" Lexi asked again.
"Laura doesn't like getting her hair done, especially if I'm doing it," Ursula replied. "And why are you complaining so much?!"
"Well, I get the feeling you don't like me that much," Lexi said in a low tone. "What gave you that idea?" Ursula said.
"You were against me staying/joining you guys when Rod and Laura told Dr. Z," She said. "Well… That's all in the past now, and besides, compared to Rod or Laura you're more tolerable." Ursula said.
"Uhh, thanks, I guess," Lexi said. Suddenly, she heard something coming down the hall that connected to their room. "Hey, do you hear that?" She said. The noise got louder and louder until Zander came into the room jumping. "Help! Ursula! Help me!" He said as he bumped into Ursula causing her to smack her face on the table she was sitting at, and also causing her to pull on Lexi's hair. "Ow!" She shouted.
"Grrr! Hey! Watch it!" Ursula shouted. "Sorry about that." She apologized to Lexi. "Get back here!" She tried catching him but missed "Stop, Zander!" Ed said showing up to help catch him but also missed.
"I'd liked to, but I can't." He said as he jumped around uncontrollably bumping into the table and chairs and knocking them down. Lexi got out of the way and took cover while Zander continued bumping into things in the room and knocking them over. "Ed! Help me catch him!" Ursula said annoyed. "I'm trying to, but it's like catching an eel!" He said continuing to fail at catching him. "Together now! Got ya!" Ursula said as she and Ed finally caught Zander.
Dr. Z came into the room angry about all the noise that was happening. "How can I build a dinosaur kingdom with all this racket going on?!" He yelled. "Sorry, we were admiring one of your inventions," Ursula said. Rod and Laura then came into the room holding an Alpha Scanner. "Grandpa! Oh hey, Lexi." Laura said.
"Hi." She said back.
"What are you doing here?" Rod asked her.
"Ursula was doing my hair." She replied.
"Really?!" They both said surprised. "That's surprising," Rod said.
"Oh, thanks by the way," Lexi said to Ursula.
"No problem," Ursula said in a monotone voice.
"Oh yeah," Laura said remembering why she came into the room. "Guess what, Grandpa. Another dinosaur has appeared."
"Huh? Show me where." Dr. Z said.
Everyone went to the map room and saw a red dot on China, pointing out the dinosaur's location. "It looks like the dinosaur is located near the Great Wall of China. Did you know that's supposed to be the greatest work of architecture in the history of mankind? Pretty cool, huh, Grandpa?" Rod said.
"Big deal, it's just some big old wall. When my dinosaur kingdom is completed, it'll go down in history as the greatest achievement in mankind and make that wall look like a pile of rubble!" Dr. Z proclaimed.
"That's right!" The Alpha Trio agreed.
"And how will we do that?" Dr. Z asked.
"By capturing dinosaurs using every dirty trick in the book," Ursula said while pulling on Zander's two hair strands. They then looked in a particular direction and got scared. "Huh, Ahhh!" They said as they ran away.
"I guess I'll get back to my homework now," Rod said nervously.
"Yeah, right," Laura said.
"Me too," Lexi said as all three kids ran out of the room.
"Huh? Was it something I said?" Dr. Z said confused. "Doctor!" Helga yelled causing him to jump a bit. "Could you please tell me why the room next door is a disaster?!" She said sternly.
"Yes, it wasn't me… it was Zander." Dr. Z tried explaining.
"I do not care who did it, Doctor, just get over there and clean it up now!" Helga said getting up in Dr. Z's face. He whimpered and did as he was told.
Meanwhile, in a forest somewhere…
The D-Team and their dinosaurs were out in the woods. Rex was digging at a cliffside and Ace and Chomp were playing while Paris slept. She then woke up when she heard something coming from the bushes. "Yes! I found another stone! Awesome!" Max said coming out of the bushes and rubbing the dirt off it. It was revealed to be a plain old rubber ball. "Oh, never mind it's just a dumb rubber ball." He said disappointed.
"Come on, Max. Do you really think it's that easy to find them?" Zoe said as she walked to Max. "As a member of the D-Team, it just so happens to be our mission to find the stones and cards. Then we can rescue the dinosaurs. Maybe you and Rex could start searching too." He said.
"Max, they're scattered all over the world. It's pretty hard to believe they'll be conveniently located right in our backyard." Zoe explained. "Also, don't ya think the Alpha Gang might also have some of the stones too? I mean they've been able to call out dinosaurs like that T-Rex, Spinosaurus, and Saichania. So, they must have some stones in their possession." She theorized.
"Yeah, you might be right, but we don't know how many stones and cards are out there, so we should keep searching," Max said.
Meanwhile, Chomp and Ace were chasing each other around. Chomp and Ace jumped over where Rex was digging causing him to fall to the ground. "Aah! Watch it! Hey Ace, could you and Chomp please calm down?!" Rex shouted at them.
"Let them play. I think it's great they're having so much fun." Max said walking toward Rex. "I'm not against them having fun, but can they do it somewhere else?" Rex asked.
"Alright, I think this will help. Hey, Chomp! Hey, Ace! Fetch!" Max threw the rubber ball he found earlier at Chomp and Ace.
Rex went back to digging when he suddenly found something. "Hey, look at this! An ammonite!" He said holding a nearly perfect ammonite fossil. "A marine animal fossil and it's nearly in perfect condition. Wow!"
"Congratulations! Those can be really hard to find." Zoe congratulated her friend on his impressive find. "Way to go!" Max congratulated him as well.
Chomp threw the ball at Ace which then bounced off his face and was sent in the direction where Max was. He dodged it but accidentally bumped into Rex causing him to drop the fossil, which shattered into pieces.
"Uh oh…" Max said.
"Oh, Rex…" Zoe said.
"Grrr… I told you they were playing too rough! There goes my nearly perfect fossil!" Rex yelled at Max.
"But they didn't do it on purpose," Max said to him but he just scoffed. Rex then bends down to pick up the pieces of his fossil. "Let me help," Max said bending down as well to pick up some pieces.
"That's alright, don't bother!" Rex said.
"Come on, Rex! How come you're mad at me? I didn't do anything" Max said.
"Exactly! 'You didn't do anything!'" Rex shouted at Max.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Max shouted back as Ace threw the ball at Chomp which got stuck on his nose horn, and then tried to get it off.
"You guys, stop fighting!" Zoe said trying to defuse the situation.
Meanwhile, in China…
The Alpha Trio was flying a three-person hand glider on their way to where they believed the dinosaur was. "This is great," Zander commented.
"I just wished I wasn't flying in the front," Ed said.
"Trust me, Ed. I did you a favor. You really don't want to be flying behind Zander right now either." Ursula said.
"Well it's not my fault Helga served pork and beans again today," Zander said.
"Hey, there it is! I can see it! The Great Wall of China!" Ed shouted spotting the long wall. "But do you see the dinosaur?" Ursula asked.
"That wall has to be about 4,000 miles long! Maybe Dr. Z could have been more specific. A mile marker or some sort of sign, perhaps." Zander said.
"Well, the Alpha Search Signal only tells us the general area of where the dinosaur is, but not an exact location," Ed explained as a loud roar was heard, scaring off a flock of birds."Hey, those must've been scared off by the dinosaur. That must be the sign we're looking for!" Ursula said happily.
"Yeah you're right, but don't you think those birds are flying too close?" Zander said worriedly. "Oh no!" Ed exclaimed. "Come on, you two turn this thing! Hurry!" Ursula ordered them.
The trio leaned their glider to the left avoiding some of the birds, but unfortunately, some of the birds ripped holes in their glider. "That can't be good," Zander commented. They began plummeting to the ground screaming, but lucky for them they bounced back up to the sky. "Hahaha! Good thing I thought to wear the jumping shoes. I knew they come in handy! You're welcome." Zander said.
"Whoa, we're really high up," Ed said looking down.
"Watch out! Zander, how do you shut these things off?!" Ursula exclaimed.
"I still have no clue," Zander replied as they crashed into a tree.
Meanwhile, in the D-Lab…
At the central computer lab, Rex was busy trying to piece back together his ammonite fossil carefully. Max then showed up to offer his assistance. "Hey Rex, let me help you." He said gathering some pieces and placing them incorrectly. "You're not really doing it the right way. You have to make sure the pieces match up to each other." Rex explained to him.
"They are, and I think it's looking great again," Max said.
Rex signed. "You know Max, thanks for trying to help me and everything, but actually, you're not." He said.
"What do you mean? I'm putting it together the same as you." Max said. Suddenly, their Dino Holder began beeping. "Another dinosaur has appeared," Rex said.
They went where Reese was looking at the world map with a red dot on Asia. Zoe and Dr. Taylor also came into the room. "Where is it, Reese?" Max asked.
"Looks like it's in Asia. More specifically, right near the Great Wall of China." Reese replied.
"Right!" Max said as he and Rex went to the teleporter.
"Hey, wait for me," Zoe said catching up to them.
"You do realize the Great Wall of China is incredibly long. Almost twice the length of the entire Japanese Archipelago. Back in my younger days, I used to study that mighty wall and would be more than-" Dr. Taylor said but was interrupted by Reese. "Dr. Taylor, the children already left," She said as they teleported away. "What?! Wait! No!" Dr. Taylor said frantically.
Back in China…
The A-Team was still jumping up and down but at least were heading in the right direction. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling tired of all this jumping," Zander commented.
"I'm just feeling… like throwing up," Ed said.
"Well, I'm feeling really irritated! I've had enough of this jumping around! Where the heck is the off switch, Zander?!" Ursula exclaimed.
"Hang on, we're almost there. I can see the wall from here. Just think of it as a trampoline." He said.
"I hate trampolines!" Ursula retorted
"Hey, do you think those people over there are running from the dinosaur?" Ed asked as the trio was trampled by the fleeing crowd of people.
"Well, at least we stopped jumping," Zander said.
They then heard a loud roar and got up on their knees spotting the dinosaur. "There it is the dinosaur! A 'Car-'...a 'Carchera-'. How do you pronounce that thing?" Ursula asked failing to pronounce the dinosaur's name
"I think it's called 'Care-', 'Curry-', 'Cara-dinosaurus'?" Ed said.
"No, you're both wrong. It's pronounced 'Cara-orthodonto-saurus'...I think." Zander said.
The dinosaur looked around at its surroundings and roared before continuing to roam up the mountain near the wall.
Meanwhile, the D-Team arrived inside a tower in the Great Wall. They looked out the window and spotted the dinosaur. "Wow!" Max said.
Zoe put on her goggles to get a closer look at it. "That's a really big one, and see those long razor-sharp teeth. That's a Carcharodontosaurus!" Zoe explained.
"And it's a carnivorous dinosaur like T-Rex, only slightly bigger," Rex added.
"Well, it looks like we beat the Alpha Gang here this time, right?" Zoe said removing her goggles.
"Wrong! We're here, and that Cara-cora-...donka-dinka-saurus is ours!" Ursula shouted.
"Oh! Look, there's the old lady!" Zoe said pointing to a tram car the Alpha Trio were on.
"Stop calling me an old lady! And anyways, brats this is a serious expedition the Alpha Gang is on, not some silly little field trip for kids! So, pack your bags and go home!" Ursula shouted at them.
"You're not getting that dinosaur before us!" Max yelled.
Ursula continued ranting about how the dinosaur was theirs and theirs alone. However, they didn't see that the Carcharodontosaurus was getting closer to their tram car until they heard it. "How strong do you suppose these tram cars are?" Ursula asked her teammates.
"Not strong enough to withstand the jaws of that dinosaur!" Ed said panicking.
"Don't worry, it's probably not hungry for human beings" Zander tried reassuring the team.
"But, what if it's hungry for three human beings?!" They all panicked together. The Carcharodontosaurus rammed its head into the tram car causing it to shake back and forth, and making the Alpha Trio scream. "Hey, pal! Do you know who you're knocking around? You better prepare yourself for we are…" Ursula started. "...The Alpha-" They all said together. But, were interrupted by the Carcharodontosaurus ramming its head into the car again causing the door to fall off, and causing the A-Team to fall into the dinosaur's mouth. Lucky for them, however, they bounced right back onto the tram car before it snapped its jaws.
"Like I said earlier, you can thank me for insisting on the shoes!" Zander said in complete shock reminding them of how these shoes have now, saved them twice from certain death. "I'll thank you now while I'm still alive," Ed said shivering.
"I'll handle this! Listen here you ugly, big-headed, short-armed, dinosaur with a name nobody can pronounce." Ursula said fearfully pointing at the dinosaur.
"Do you really think it's a good idea to insult it?!" Zander asked her.
"Whatever! I guess I have no other choice but to summon Terry! Ha! Go!" Ursula said slashing the card on her Alpha Scanner.
"Wait! No! Ursula!" Ed shouted.
"Not in the tram car!" Zander said.
Terry was summoned in his full size causing the tram car to explode and send the Alpha Trio flying. They then landed on their tippy-toes. "I figured it out. The stop button is located on the tip of the shoe." Zander said before Terry landed on them, knocking them back. "Right!" They said.
Terry turned around and roared at Carcharodontosaurus. They both stared each other down. Meanwhile, at the wall, the D-Team noticed the sky color change and the roars from the incoming battle. "Hey guys, it sounds like a battle has begun!" Zoe said. They went over to the edge of the wall to see what was happening. "It's Terry," Rex said.
"Aw man, they beat us to the dinosaur again. I'm going down there." Max said as he went down some nearby stairs.
"Max! What are you doing?!" Rex asked.
"I'm going to try and capture the dinosaur before they do!" Max replied
"Nuh-uh. It'll be faster going from the rope station above us." Rex pointed out.
"No, this way is the shortcut," Max said, continuing down the stairs.
"It's not Max! Fine! Suit yourself!" Rex said going in a different direction.
"This way is faster? But, wait up!" Zoe said following Rex.
Terry charged forward and tried to bite at Carcharodontosaurus, but it dodged the attack and tried doing the same to Terry. He also avoided it and they both went back and forth trying to bite each other. Max and Chomp, however, managed to make it down to where the battle was taking place.
"Rex, hold on! It's definitely faster going Max's way!" Zoe shouted. She then heard the Carcharodontosaurus roar. Having been fed up with the back-and-forth snapping, it began glowing red and then shot a fireball at Terry. Fortunately for Terry, he managed to get out of the way of the incoming fireball. But unfortunately for Zoe, the fireball hit the tower she was in causing an explosion and trapping her inside the rubble.
Max and Rex looked out in shock. "Zoe!" They yelled.
"Zoe?! Are you okay?!" Max called her on his Dino Holder. "Zoe?! Can you hear me?! Answer if you can hear ?!" Rex called her as well. Inside the rubble, Zoe seems to be okay. She got up and groaned.
Carcharodontosaurus and Terry roared at each other while the Alpha Trio watched. "This is going to take longer than I thought. Obviously, it has a fire move card." Ursula said.
"I guess that means its move card was inside the capsule, like that Saltasaurus from last time, right?" Ed said.
"Yeah, and you know Ursula, this battle could've been over quicker if we had summoned Spiny," Zander said.
"Whatever, Terry can handle it just fine, plus it's not like he's at a disadvantage," Ursula explained.
Meanwhile, back at the wall, Paris was trying to nudge some of the rubble while Rex looked at it. "Okay guys, we've got to figure out how to get inside of there somehow," Rex told the two dinosaurs.
"Zoe! I'm coming! Hang on!" Max shouted as he ran over to the rubble. "Can you hear me, say something?"
"Help me, Max," Zoe said over her Dino Holder.
"Zoe! Are you Alright?!" Max said.
"I think so," Zoe said as she crawled around in the rubble.
"Are you hurt at all?" Rex asked.
"No. but, I'm pretty much trapped." Zoe replied.
Rex let out a sigh of relief knowing that she was okay. "Don't worry, we're gonna get you out right away," Max said. Paris began moving rocks with Ace helping as well.
"Hey, Max! The entrance is totally blocked so we need to move away all the rubble. Can you come on up here?" Rex said.
"I'll just have Chomp do it with one move," Max said as he pressed a button on his Dino Holder and turned Chomp into a card. "That's dangerous! Come on up!" Rex warned him but Max didn't listen.
"Let's go, Chomp! Dino slash! Triceratops roar!" Max slashed the card and summoned Chomp in his full size. "You ready to help, Chomp?" Max asked and Chomp roared in response and walked over to the rubble.
"Max, I really think this is a bad idea. Stop him!" Rex said.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine," Max said as Chomp began moving away some of the rubble with his horns, but as soon as he stuck his horn deeper in the rubble it began collapsing even more. Zoe screamed and covered her head.
"You're gonna hurt her!" Rex shouted.
"Oh no. Chomp, don't move any more!" Max said and Chomp stopped what he was doing. "Zoe! Answer me!" Max asked but there was no response. He went to the rubble.
"Can you hear me? Are you alright?" Rex asked.
"I'm not sure," Zoe replied.
"What do you mean you're not sure? Hang on, we're coming for you." Rex said.
"Hmph. Well don't bother, I'll get myself out of here, thank you." Zoe stated.
"What are you talking about?" Max said.
"I'm sick of you two fighting all the time," Zoe said, shocking the boys in surprise. "That's right! Even when it comes to helping me, you two can't seem to stop being selfish and work together as a team. Max, you can't seem to take 'no' for an answer and Rex, you are so irritable. I get that the fossil you found is rare and stuff, but that's no excuse to get angry at Max and refuse his help. The same thing goes for that book and Ace. So, either work together or leave me alone!" Zoe ranted.
Meanwhile, Terry and Carcharodontosaurus circled each other trying to bite each other's tail. Terry did a tail swipe but Carcharodontosaurus avoided it.
Max sighed. "She's right, Rex. We gotta work together. We'll stay here, you take care of the dinosaurs." Max told Rex.
"All right, promise me you won't let anything happen to Zoe," Rex said. "Okay, Ace let's go." He pressed a button on his Dino Holder and turned Ace into a card. "Dino slash! Blast through! Carnotaurus!" He slashed the card summoning Ace in his full size. "Look, Ace! Don't let them get too close to us, okay?" Rex said. Ace roared in response and knocked away some rocks that were headed in their direction.
"Great, now we've got another dinosaur to deal with," Ursula said.
"See, I told you we should've summoned Spiny," Zander said.
"Would you quit bringing that up?!" Ursula said annoyed.
"Hey but look, that Carnotaurus isn't coming anywhere near us," Ed said noticing Ace just standing there.
"You're right, Ed, it must be a setup of some kind," Ursula said.
"It's possible, that he's just protecting something at the moment," Zander said readjusting his glasses.
"Really? Then what's the story with the Triceratops over there?" Ed asked pointing at Chomp just standing there with his horns inside the rubble.
"Ummm… Wait, wasn't one of the brats inside that tower when the dinosaur shot a fireball at it?" Zander said.
"Hey, you're right. That must mean they're trapped inside all that rubble." Ed said.
"Oh, I see what's going on here. That Carnotaurus is trying to keep the fight away from the rubble, while the Triceratops is digging them out or keeping the rubble from collapsing." Ursula explained. "Well, that just made our job a heck of a lot easier, with those brats busy digging out their friend we can capture the dinosaur ourselves."
"Shouldn't we help them?" Ed said.
"And why would we help the enemy, Ed?" Ursula said.
"Well… They're just kids and-" Ed said but was interrupted by Ursula. "Kids or not we're here for one goal alone, and that's to capture that dinosaur. Those brats can stay inside that rubble for eternity for all I care. You got that Ed?" She said.
"Yes," He responded.
Meanwhile, in the fight, Carcharodontosaurus charges forward and knocks over Terry. He slid across the ground, but Ace stopped him before he got too close to the rubble. Carcharodontosaurus then began charging up another fireball in its mouth.
"Rex, they're getting too close!" Max shouted.
"Go! Ace!" Rex told him.
Ace jumped over Terry and ran toward the dinosaur. He rammed his head into the dinosaur's stomach causing it to shoot the fireball off in the wrong direction and hit the tower again instead. Zoe screamed as the rubble was coming apart.
"Hang in there, Chomp," Max told his Triceratops.
"Now, enough of this child's play. Neck Crusher!" Ursula slashed the move on her Alpha Scanner.
Terry glowed for a bit and roared. He ran towards Carcharodontosaurus and went under it throwing it into the air. He then spun around and hit the dinosaur with his tail on its neck knocking it away in the direction of the wall. "Ace you gotta block him!" Rex said and Ace got in front of the Carcharodontosaurus and slowed it down before it could hit Chomp.
"Even when they're not actively fighting, these brats are still a pain in the butt," Ursula said frustrated. "Go Terry! Show them all why you're the king of the dinosaurs!"
Terry roared and ran forward preparing to attack again. The Carcharodontosaurus however, lifted its head and started charging up another fireball in its mouth. Meanwhile, Rex was about to use his move card. "Go! Cyclone!" He slashed the card and a pillar of wind came crashing down on Ace enveloping him in wind power. He charges forward and rams into Terry hitting him, and just as that happens, Carcharodontosaurus fires its fireball hitting him as well and making him go flying.
"Terry!" Ursula cried out as he landed on the ground and turned back into a card.
"The card's flying away!" Ed said as the card flew off in the wind.
"Oh no! Ed, come with me and help me get Terry's card back." Ursula said.
"Okay." He said.
"Zander, you stay back and use Spiny to get that dinosaur. I'm not letting those brats win that easily!" Ursula ordered Zander.
"Got it!" Zander said as Ed and Ursula hopped after Terry's card.
"We did it!" Rex cheered. The Carcharodontosaurus began getting up and then roared at Ace ready to fight him. "Hey, what are you doing? We were just working together, don't you remember?" Rex said confused.
Meanwhile, Max was still moving rocks from the rubble trying to free Zoe, while Chomp held the rubble in place. "Chomp, hang on pal," Max said. Inside the rubble, Zoe stumbles upon Chomp's horn sticking in the rubble. "Hi Chomp, thanks for your help," She hugged his horn. "I'll work from this side too." She started moving rock as well.
Back at the battle, Rex stared at Carcharodontosaurus. "I guess there's no other choice but to fight." He said.
Ace charged forward and bashed his head with the dinosaur pushing it back. But suddenly, out of nowhere, Spiny showed up to the fight and bit Carcharodontosaurus' neck pushing it back and away from Ace. "What? Where did Spiny come from?" Rex asked confused.
"I hope you didn't forget that I'm still here," Zander said.
"I thought you chasing Terry's card with the others?" Rex said.
"Ed and Ursula have that covered. I'm here for that dinosaur and you best stay out of my way, go help your trapped friend or whatever." Zander said.
"Grrr! Ace make sure those two don't get close to the rubble, okay?" Rex said and Ace roared in response.
Spiny continued biting on Carcharodontosaurus' neck until it was finally able to break free and charged a fireball in its mouth and fired it at Spiny. This sent him flying in the opposite direction of the rubble. However, Spiny was fine and got back up.
"Tragedy of The Sphere!" Zander slashed the move card on his Alpha Scanner. Spiny glowed blue for a bit and roared. He formed a water sphere around his head and then shot it at Carcharodontosaurus, trapping and drowning it. Spiny ran toward the sphere and jumped into it ramming into the dinosaur, knocking it to the ground. Carcharodontosaurus tried getting back up, but couldn't due to exhaustion and turned back into a card. Spiny roared in victory and Zander went over to pick up the two cards.
"That's one dinosaur and one Fire Cannon card," Zander said with a smirk. Spiny turned around and roared at Ace.
"Get ready, Ace!" Rex told his dinosaur as Ace roared back ready to fight. However, Rex was surprised when Zander called back Spiny and turned him back into a card.
"As a thank you for doing most of the work, I won't be taking your Carnotaurus," Zander said.
"Plus your hands are already full," He said referring to Zoe being trapped in the rubble. "Good luck saving your friend, see ya!" He said as he hopped off in the direction Ed and Ursula went.
"Darn it! How's Zoe?" Rex asked.
"We're almost there. I can hear her pretty good through the rocks now." Max said continuing to dig out the rocks. Inside the rubble, Zoe also continued digging out the rocks until finally, the rays of the sun hit her and she saw Paris in the open.
"Paris!" Zoe said. The hole in the rubble opened more and revealed Max and Rex.
"Hey," Max said.
"You okay?" Rex said
"Max! Rex! Thank you." Zoe said.
"Here grab ahold of my hand," Max said extending his hand to Zoe. "No mine," Rex said doing the same.
"Come on you guys. No fighting. We're a team." Zoe said as she reached both the boy's hands and they both pulled her out. "Right." They both said.
"Okay Chomp, we're good," Max said returning Chomp back to a card, which caused the rubble to cave in. The D-Team all met on the ground and Max went over to thank Ace. "Thank you, Ace. Everyone is safe because of you." He said petting him.
"So, the Alpha Gang got the dinosaur card?" Zoe asked.
"Yeah, I'm sorry you guys," Rex replied disappointed in himself.
"I should apologize too. If it wasn't for our fighting, you wouldn't been trapped in that rubble and we could have captured that dinosaur before the Alpha Gang did." Max said.
"Hey, hey, it's okay at the end of the day you both put aside your differences and learned to work together as a team. That's what matters most." Zoe said smiling. "We'll get them next time and that's a promise," She said confidently
"Yeah!" Max and Rex replied.
Meanwhile, somewhere else, Ed and Ursula were jumping up and down trying to reach Terry's card which landed up high in a tree branch.
"Come on, Ed! Jump higher. If you think I'm going back to Dr. Z without the dinosaur and Terry, you can forget it!" Ursula said.
"I'm trying, but I can only jump so high!" Ed said trying to reach Terry's card.
"There you guys are," Zander said joining them after the battle with Carcharodontosaurus. "Did you get Terry's card back yet?" He asked.
"I should be asking you whether you were able to capture that dinosaur or not?" Ursula said.
"I told you Spiny would have taken care of it much faster," Zander said holding Carcharodontosaurus' card. "Ah! Great job, Zander!" Ursula said happily. "Now we just need to get Terry's card." She said pointing at the branch where his card was.
"Hmmm… Wait, I have an idea." Zander said as he hopped over to another tree branch and jumped up and down really quickly. This sends him rocketing in the air as Ed and Ursula look on.
"Talk about going out on a limb," Ursula said.
"Come on, let's try it too," Ed said as he grabbed Ursula's hand. "Huh? Wait! Ed!" Ursula protested, but it was too late and both she and Ed repeated the action Zander did. They were launched high into the air and Ursula without her knowing, had grabbed Terry's card in her mouth.
"Ursula, you did it!" Ed prised her.
"Nice catch," Zander said, congratulating her.
"Thanks," Ursula said, sounding muffled because of the card in her mouth.
"Hey, we're covering a lot of ground this way. We should arrive on the island in no time." Ed said.
"Yeah that's nice and all, but how are we supposed to get across the ocean?" Zander asked. However, out of nowhere, a flock of birds was flying in their direction. "Watch out!" Ursula said as the flock went through them and they all screamed.

Hello, it's been a while, sorry I didn't post this earlier. College has eaten up most of my time, so yeah. Anyway, I again don't have much to say about this chapter because not much changed here, except for the Alpha Gang winning. I do plan on giving the D-Team a win so don't worry. I just found it annoying that in the original, the D-Team always won. So, in this story, both teams are gonna have a similar win-to-lose ratio. I also made Ed more compassionate because to me he wasn't as bad as some of the other two. I believe Ursula to be crueler, Zander to be in the middle mainly influenced by who he's with, and Ed to be the nicer one in the trio. Well, that's all I have to say thank you for reading and see you next time.
