Arin took a snowberry pie out of the oven. Baking helped him with his stress, and it helped having Sora to talk to about the strange behavior of the ninja. But he still wasn't sure if they were actually up to something. Worse than that, was that he was starting to doubt ever having seen his parents in the mergequake. He wondered if they'd seen him, or if it was his hope of them being alive that made them appear. He just hoped that whatever was going on would be quickly dealt with. That felt like alot to hope for.
"Take it easy, Arin. Not so hard. Be more fluid." Lloyd said as he threw another shuriken at the target. "Yes mast- I mean Lloyd" he groaned. Lloyd frowned as he yet again, threw a shuriken at full force. He didn't usually want to disappoint Lloyd, but he couldn't stop thinking about the ice and green ninjas' encounter in the library a few days ago. "Not so hard," Lloyd said again. Arin nodded, but continued at the same force. Lloyd seemed to be frowning even harder. Sora was working on some machines, but not as well as she could. She looked like she was toying around with them. Lloyd wasn't watching her right now, but if he were, Arin was sure the green ninja would have a bigger frown than the most strict teacher out there. Arin focused on the target again. He threw a shuriken. It took on some spinjitzu. "Lloyd! Did you see that? I did it, I-" Arin realized that his teacher's attention had drifted. Lloyd stared at the sky. It was late, so the moons peaked out a bit. Lloyd seemed to be staring right through it. Sora glanced over at Arin, confused. He shrugged. He wasn't sure why Lloyd was acting strange. He cautiously put his hand in front of Lloyd's face, and clapped, snapping him back into attention. "Well, um, good. We'll keep training tomorrow." Lloyd said, he sounded kind of off, then walked distractedly into the monastery. "That was weird, right?" Arin asked. "Yeah." Sora said slowly. "Strange." His friend walked into the monastery as well. All Arin could do was follow.
