Legend of The Lion King: Stampede and Rafiki Mourns

Then Dijonay appears on the left side of the Stage while on the right side scar explains his plan to the Hyena on how they were going to kill both Mufasa and Simba.

Dijonay: "And so Scar plotted with his faithful hyena servants to eliminate, Two kings at once."

Squilliam: "I want you to go to the gorge and on my signal, you are to cause trouble with the wildebeests."

The hyenas laughed in agreement as they left the stage. Later Simba runs to his Uncle Scar wondering what he wants him for.

Craig: "What are we doing Uncle Scar?"

Squilliam: "Your father has a marvelous surprise for you."

Craig: "What is it?"

Squilliam: "If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?"

Then the curtains roll up to be a deep wide Gorge with two cliffs on both sides as Scar got his nephew to sit on a ledge.

Squilliam: "Oh Here We Are! Now you stay here, While I'll go get him."

Craig: "I'll go with you"

Squilliam: "No! No, just stay on this ledge. This is between you and your dad, you know a Father and Son sort of thing? I was thinking while you wait for him, You should give him a surprise in return, a gift perhaps?"

Craig: "But he's the king, What can I give him?"

Squilliam: "Maybe, Work on that little roar of yours?"

Craig: "My Roar!"

Squilliam: "Yes! (echoes) Did you hear that? You see this gorge is where all lions go to, to find their roar."

Craig: "All lions even my Dad?"

Squilliam: "Yes, even Mufasa when he was your age. He refused to leave until his roar could be heard from above the rim."

Craig: "All the way up there?"

Squillaim: "Yes, And with a little practice, You'll never be called a cub again."

Craig: "Watch this!" (Meows)

Squilliam: "You'll get it Simba, It just takes time, I'll go get him now!"

Craig: "Dad will like the surprise won't he?"

Squilliam: "Yes, it's a gift even he will never forget."

Craig: "Hey Uncle Scar, will I like the surprise?"

Squilliam: "Oh Simba, it's to die for. now, I'll be back, with your father. So stay here, and keep practicing your roar."

Craig: "Okay then, I will."

Scar leaves from the right side of the stage

Craig: "Little roar. Puh! Rrrrow!"

Then he notices Gus' Chameleon Palisman crawling by.

Craig: "Rrrrow! Rrrrow!"

On the left side of the stage, the Hyenas stick their heads up.

Wobbuffet: "Wobbuffet!"

Jessie: "Would you be quiet?!"

Meowth: "But we're starving1"

James: "Yeah, I gotta have a Wildebeest!"

Jessie: "Not yet, you two! Stay put!"

James: "Can we at least have one of the little sick ones?!"

Jessie: "NO! You know the plan We need to wait for the signal from Scar."

Meowth: (sighs) "All right, You got it."

Scar appears on the cliff on the right side of the stage.

James: "Something tells me, that's it?"

Jessie: "Yes, there it is, Let's go!"

The Hyenas cackled as they disappeared

Craig: "Rrrrow! Rrrrow!" (Takes a deep breath) "ROAR!"

Simba's roar scares the chameleon off into hiding, Simba's roar echoes through the canyon. Then Eerie high-pitched music was played as Simba turned around to see at the top of the gorge the silhouettes of a herd of Wildebeest dropping down followed by a shriek. A rolling set piece resembling a conveyor of Wildebeests running followed by two rolling set pieces of Wildebeests figures one small and one bigger in the front as Simba ran for his life.

Dijonay: "Suddenly Simba was alone and trapped in a wildebeest stampede."

Then Dancers with wildebeest masks come onto the stage with Simba in the middle of it running as fast as he can. On the left side, Mufasa and Zazu stood on a cliff observing the scene as Scar appeared on the right side of the cliff.

Squidward: "Look sire, The herd is on the move?!"

Thomas: "That's odd!"

Squilliam: "Mufasa! Quick! Stampede in the gorge. Simba's down there!"

Squidward: "What?!"

Thomas: "Simba?! Simba!"

Squidward: "I'll find him!"

They disappear to the left side of the stage as Simba climbs onto a dead tree branch prop lowered down from the ceiling as Zazu flies into the gorge.

Craig: "Zazu help me!"

Squidward: "Help is coming! Your father is on the way! Hold on!"

Craig: "Hurry?"

Squidward: "I'll go get help! Sire, I found him he's there on that dead tree!"

Thomas: "I'm coming Simba hold on!"

As Zazu leaves the stage from the left, Mufasa climbs down the will and once in the gorge runs towards where Simba is.

Thomas: "Simba! Jump on!"

Simba lets go of the branch and falls into Mufasa's arms as he carries him through the stampede until he finds the left edge of the cliff.

Thomas: "Now go!"

As Simba climbs to the top of the left cliff. Mufasa in the stampede searches for a way out. Then he starts climbing the right cliff, But once at the top, he is greeted by Scar who looks down on him.

Thomas: "Scar! Brother, help me!"

Suddenly. Scar claws his paws and then his face.

Squilliam: (Evil chuckles) "Long live the king!"

Scar throws Mufasa off of the cliff falling to his death as he screams plummeting to the ground.

Craig: "Nooooo!"

Then the stage turns dark as the Wildebeest dancers disappear.

. . . . .

Then the light slowly returns to the stage as Simba climbs down to the Gorge searching for his father/

Craig: "Daaaad! Dad? Dad?!"

Simba finds him lying on the floor and runs to Mufasa, only to find out that he's dead.

Craig: "Dad, come on. Ya gotta get up. We gotta go home."

Simba cried as he hugged his dead father as Scar climbed down to see him.

Squilliam: "Simba, what have you done?"

Craig(crying): "There were wildebeest, and he saved me. It was an accident. I, I didn't mean for it to happen."

Squilliam: Oh, of course you didn't. No one ever means for these things to happen. But the king is dead. And if it weren't for you, he'd still be alive. And what would your mother would think? Along with everyone, else A son who causes his father's death? A boy who kills a king?"

Craig(crying): "I didn't know, What am I going to do?!"

Squilliam: "Rub, Run away, Simba. Run away and never return."

Young Simba runs off blindly, obviously broken. Slight pause, for the audience to catch its emotional breath. Music ends. The four hyenas appeared from the left side of the stage.

Squilliam: "Kill him!"

Scar walks off stage right. The hyenas took off after him who ran down the left ailseway and stopped.

James: "Whoa! Where is he?"

Jessie: "Hey... There he goes! There he goes!"

James: "So go get 'im."

Shenzi: "Into the desert? Are you nuts? Ain't no way I'm going there. No cub will ever survive out there? Listen we're gonna tell Scar, We went in and ate him!"

Meowth: "Good because I'm starving!"

Wobbuffet: "Wobbuffet!"

Jessie: "No, we tell him Simba is dead."

James: "We gotta finish the job. What if Scar finds out?"

Jessie: "He won't unless you open up your big snout. Anyway, he's as good as dead out there. And if he comes back, we'll kill him. That's all he ever has to know!"

James: "Yeah! You hear that? If you ever come back, we'll kill ya!" (Laughs)

Jessie: "What Scar doesn't know certainly won't hurt him?"

Meowth: "Works for me!"

Wobbuffet: "Wobbuffet!"

The Hyenas leave stage right. The hyenas make their way off the cliffs back to the Pride Lands. However, When Rafiki sees the dead Mufasa, he shakes his head. As he sings, he wipes away a tear.

Charlie(singing): Madi ao [Spilled blood]

Leka sebete chia ho oele sebatha [Try courage so the beasts may fall]

Mo leka qeme o tsaba hoa [Those who defy mountains are, in truth, cowards]

Lebo haleng ha o bue ka le ha [Even in anger, you do not speak against wrong...]

Lebo haleng ha o bue ka le ha

Oh, oh

Halala humba heh heh heya heeyahee

Halala humba hela hela hela

Halala humba heh heh heya heeyahee

Halala humba hela hela hela

Then the lionesses and the animals from the left and right side of the stage gathered around to mourn their Deceased King joining in the chanting.

Charlie, Lionesses, and Animals: Halala humba heh heh heya heeyahee

Halala humba hela hela hela

Halala humba heh heh heya heeyahee

Halala humba hela hela hela

(They keep repeating this as they wailed)

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

Mufasa goes back below the stage as he is buried. Scar addresses the lionesses on Pride Rock. The lionesses are deeply sad. Sarabi bends her head in extreme pain. Young Nala is close to her mother, crying.

Squilliam: "Mufasa's death was a terrible tragedy; He was the greatest leader the pride has ever known, to lose a brother was such a deep personal loss to me. But to lose little Simba, who had barely begun to live A cub whose blood held our future, it's almost too much to endure. I only wish I had gotten to the gorge in time and been there to save them. And so it is with a heavy heart... That I must... assume the throne. Mufasa and Simba are gone which means I... am your king. But I must admit I cannot bear this burden alone and I will need some help to ensure... the safety of the pride. Yet, out of the ashes of this tragedy, we shall rise to greet the dawning of a new era. In which lion and hyena come together, in a great and glorious future!"

Scar ascends Pride Rock as the hyenas start emerging, they appear in full force causing awe and further pain to the lion pride as the hyenas chanted.

Squilliam: (Singing) It's time you were all introduced

To your ruler's executive staff

Perhaps not the kind you've been used to

But certainly game for a laugh

Be Prepared.

The hyenas laughed as everyone left the stage except Rafiki, Zazu, Nala, Cheesesticks, and Sarabi with spotlights shining on their mourning. For Rafiki and Zazu, a great leader and Friend and their heir, Sarabi is deeply in mourning over the death of her husband and son, and Nala is mourning over a great leader and her best friend as Cheesesticks comforted her.

Squidward: "Oh dear!"

Charlie: Mi-Leh-Leh
