3rd Person (P.O.V)

Winter sighed it had been almost a month since prom, and she was now enjoying her summer vacation. Her and Jasper would be spending the week in Vancouver.

Life for her has improved significantly, although she has been a bit under the weather the past week. She had a nagging suspicion of what it was, but was in denial as it was impossible, and she hadn't been able to bring herself to ask any in the family.

Jasper glance from his provisional vision to see his mate was still looking off into the distance. She has been quiet since departure from the airport to his cabin, he would visit it a few times a year when he wanted peace and quiet.

Jasper with his vision could see the cabin within the distance. "What's on your mind darling?". He asked startling Winter out of her thoughts.

"Sorry, what did you say Jaz?". Winter asked feeling the heat going down her neck.

"You've been quiet since we left the airport, even before that it seemed as your mind was somewhere else". Jasper said pulling the SUV rental into the snow covered driveway.

"Honestly I've been doing a lot of thinking lately whether or not I would return to school after summer break. I have enough credits to graduate early. There aren't many people I'm close to other than Angela, but sooner or later she unfortunately won't be able to be apart of my life anymore". Winter said although it wasn't what really was on her mind during the drive.

Jasper knew there was something more to it as he felt Winter's heart falter a bit but decided not to push it. "If you decide not to do our final year we can always do some type of traveling while doing school online. In the future we will end up going back to school it's honestly not a big deal". Jasper said as he knew they had an immortal life down the line, they had all the time in the world.

"Maybe next summer, if I decide to leave school early I'd rather stick around town for a bit and spend time with my dad. He's still a bit depressed of what happened with Bella. I don't wanna leave him alone". Winter said as her eyes went down to her hands.

Charlie had kept his promise of not mentioning Bella around her but she knew it still hurt him that her sister didn't want to see him and it seemed that she wasn't getting any better. Renee also kept her promise and they were in contact regularly.

Winter was startled again as she felt the cold wind hit her face from the passenger side, Jasper stood next to her as he held out his hand for her. "Let's get you inside, you can get some rest while I head into town and get some groceries for our stay". He said helping her out of the SUV.

The couple of minutes Winter had been thinking, Jasper had unloaded the SUV leaving their bags on the porch.

Hand and hand Jasper lead Winter to the front door. The moment he pushed the door open the living room was the first thing she notice.

Jasper brought their bags inside, closing the door behind them. He grabbed Winter's hand leading her through the cabin the one he picked out years ago knowing he would possibly bring his mate to see it.

On the first floor of the cabin, after the living room was a huge kitchen and Jasper's private study. After meeting Winter, the cabin had gone through a bit of remodeling to accommodate a human.

Up the stairs was a guest bedroom and bathroom that was unfurnished. The couple walked down the hallway to the master bedroom which had had a bed added to it.

Winter immediately fell in love with the bedroom especially the fireplace. "The Cabin is absolutely beautiful. I could see us visiting it frequently". Winter said as she removed her jacket looking around their bedroom.

"I'm glad you like it. I've had this place for a while. It's where I go when I want to escape everyone's emotions and need to recharge". Jasper said as Winter laid her coat on the bed.

"Well I can't wait to experience the peace you get. It's been a difficult time lately with this vacation I'll be going back to Forks as good as new". Winter said sitting on the bed before laying down and letting her body sink into it much to Jasper amusement.

Jasper walked towards the bed, he towered over it looking down at Winter who smiled at him. He could see the strain on her, He didn't need to feel her emotions everything could be seen in her eyes. "Get some rest darling, I'll go into town and get what we need. I'll be back within the hour". He said as bend down leaving a kiss on her forehead.

"I love you Jaz". Winter said as he stood back up.

"I love you too darling". Jasper said as he grabbed the blanket that was at the feet of the bed and draping it over her body. "I'll be back soon". He said before leaving the room.

Winter laid on the bed, staring at the wooden ceiling as she waited for Jasper to put some distance from the cabin. She sat up five minutes later before getting out of the bed and headed towards her luggage to retrieve what she had bought in Port Angeles the day prior.

In her hand was a bag with a few pregnancy test and a ziploc bag. Winter returned to the bedroom, passing the bed to entered the bathroom.

She didn't waste any time as she knew she would have time to admire the bathroom. Winter set the bag on the counter before taking out the test. She opened one of the boxes and began reading the instructions. Before she knew it she opened three boxes in total.

It took five minutes for her to be standing in front of the sink again with three test sitting side-by-side. Her phone was also on the counter with the timer set, it would take a total of three minutes for the results.

Winter impatiently tapped her finger on the counter her mind wandering, wondering what she was going to do and if this was really happening. She wanted to laugh at the foolishness of taking pregnancy test when her mate was a vampire but he was also a man she was having sex with unprotected even though she didn't think it was needed.

Her mind was on overdrive, wondering if Jasper would accuse her of cheating or think she was crazy. It wouldn't be far-fetched as her sister was proof that some sort of mental illness ran in her family. Winter was brought out of her thoughts by the timer going off, she took a deep breath as she turned it off.

Winter picked up the first test within reaching distance before bringing it to eye level, her hand faltered a bit with the bold letters staring at her. "Positive". She whispered audibly before rushing to pick up the other two test that read the same as the first.

With the shock her brain controlled her hand, bringing it to her flat stomach wondering if it was possible or had she finally lost her mind. On auto pilot Winter put the tests inside of the ziploc bag, Once it was closed her legs finally gave out and she sank to the floor with her back against the cabinets.

She honestly didn't know how long she sat there, she didn't remembered Jasper calling out her name once. All she remembered was her hand resting on her stomach, her mind constantly repeating the word positive.
