A Celebratory Dig:
NOTE: The adult versions of Willow, Hunter, and Boscha from 'The Owl House' epilogue are featured here.
It was a few days after the Loud family had returned from their fun vacation in Europe. At the backyard of the Loud House, Lynn Jr., and her younger sisters Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa were discussing what activity they should do...
Lana: Does anyone know of a fun activity we could do together?
After thinking for a bit, some of the sisters had answers...
Lynn Jr.: We could each do an extreme sport, while Lucy would film them using my smartphone!
Lisa: Okay, filming something is great, but could we do it for something besides sports?
Lucy: (smiles) How about a graveyard?
Everyone else shook their heads.
Lisa: I suggest the science museum.
Again, everyone shook their heads.
Lola: (ecstatic) How about a fashion show? Though, how about we take pictures instead? I could dress up in fabulous clothes, then I could pose, and then you all could take lots of pictures!
Lana: Lols, I like the idea of taking pictures, but I thought of a better idea we could do it for.
Lola: What's that?
Lana: How about digging a deep hole, and taking a picture with all of us in it.
L.J.: Our very own selfie!
Lana: Let's all go to the beach! Let's plenty of sand there, so there's lots of room to dig our hole.
Everyone else nodded, with Lola replying, 'If I'm going to dig, I better change into some proper clothes for it.'
L.J. and the younger sister waited for Lola to change into clothes for the outdoors, (Lola had on her pink sweatsuit and sneakers) then they headed for the beach. When they arrived there, they soon found a perfect spot (the middle of the beach) to dig at...
Lana: This is the perfect place for our celebratory dig!
L.J.: Yeah, we could dig a hole right here!
Lisa: And also, we get a perfect view of the ocean in sight.
Lana: I got the shovels right here!
Lucy: Let's dig.
The five Loud sisters immediately started digging the hole. A short distance away, at a concession stand, were Guy-Am-I, his wife Michellee Weebie-Am-I, holding their son Guy, Jr. in her right arm, and his stepdaughter (and Michellee's daughter) Elanabeth, or 'E.B.' for short, were enjoying frozen popsicle treats together...
Guy-Am-I: (licking a grape popsicle) Man, this stuff is good.
Michellee: (with a orange popsicle in her left hand) And cold.
E.B.: (licking a cherry popsicle) That's what makes them great, Mom!
As the Weebie-Am-I family were having their popsicles, sand was flying over to the concession stand area, and people were distracted by the sand pouring and getting onto their food. E.B. saw that sand got onto her popsicle...
E.B.: (cries out) Guy, sand is on my popsicle!
Michellee, who was backing away by the oncoming sand, asks, 'What's going on?!
Guy and his family then saw that there was a hole nearby, with someone in there digging sand out of it, and he immediately walked over to it...
Guy: Hey, excuse me!
The five Loud sisters were almost finished digging the hole, when they saw Guy glaring at them...
L.J.: Hello, Guy, what's up?
Guy: Are you girls digging up that hole there?
Lola: (nods) Yeah, we doing it so we could take a selfie.
Lana: Once we get this hole big enough, we're going to take a picture with all of us in it. Won't that be cool?
Guy just gave them a disappointing glare, and gestured for the five Loud girls to come out of the hole, which they nervously did so. When they climbed out, they saw Michellee, E.B., and other people who at the concession stand giving them an annoyed look.
Guy: (sighs) You can't dig your hole here, kids. You're getting sand on everyone's food. Go do it somewhere else, please.
The Loud sisters were disappointed, but took their shovels, walked away from the hole, then got their bags, and walked off the beach. While walking in town...
Lana: Oh, dang it, we couldn't dig our hole there!
Lola: And no selfie!
L.J.: Is there another place we could dig at?
After a moment of thinking, Lisa asked, 'Why not Ketcham Park?'
The other sisters nodded, and then they went to Ketcham Park. When they got there, at the middle of the park, they saw a small hole already dug up...
L.J.: We already found the perfect spot to take the selfie!
Lola: And the best part is, that we don't even have to dig. There's a hole already here!
Lisa: It looks like it's meant to be.
Lucy: Lucky.
Lana took a good look at the hole, then says, 'Yes, it can fit one person, but it's way too small to fit all of us. We need to make this hole bigger.'
Lola: (sighs) I hoped that I wouldn't have to do this.
The girls got out their shovels, and dug the small hole, into a bigger hole...
Lana: That's better. Now, we just need your phone to take the selfie, Lynn.
L.J.: The phone is in my duffel bag. I left it in a cubby by the playground.
Lola: (sighs) Alright, why didn't you just bring in with you?
L.J.: Because I didn't want it to get broken, Lola!
Lisa: (sighs) Let's just go get the phone.
The 5 girls then walked away from the hole to get L.J.'s phone. As they were doing that, three adult witches, Hunter, Willow, and Boscha were walking to the hole, carrying an oak tree...
Willow: (happily) This tree is gonna look great!
When Hunter, Willow, and Boscha put the tree into the deep hole, it fell down, and they were surprised...
Hunter: It looks like it's a little short.
Willow: (confused) Alright, how did this hole get so deep?
Boscha: (points to the Loud sisters) I bet those humans saw what happened.
The three witches saw the Loud sisters come back to the hole...
Lucy: Hello.
Hunter: Did you girls see what happened to this hole?
Lana: We saw that it was too small for all of us to take a selfie in, so we decided to make it bigger.
Willow: Okay, so you were the ones who did this?
Lisa: (sighs) Yes. We just went to the cubbies at the playground to get a smartphone to take a selfie on.
At that moment, all Hunter, Willow, and Boscha could do is shake their heads...
Willow: That was not a good thing to do.
The Loud sisters were silently surprised...
Willow: (sighs) We were the ones who dug that small hole so we could put our tree here. This wasn't for your selfie.
L.J.: Ooooh...
Boscha: Yeah, we had permission from the mayor to put that tree there.
Lana: We're very sorry, guys.
Lola: Yeah, we had no idea you were going to plant something here.
Willow: (sighs again) If you girls must dig a big hole, then please do it someplace else.
Nodding, L.J., Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa left the park, then spoke about their predicament as they walked through town...
L.J.: Oh, crud! Where are we going we dig our hole to do our selfie?
Lana: What I do know, is that we can't where other people are, or where someone else already dug a hole at.
After a bit of thought, Lana remarked, 'I know of another place we can dig!'
Lola: Where?
Lana: Our backyard!
Lucy nodded, with Lisa saying, 'Okay, that makes the most sense.'
L.J.: Even though that wouldn't be the spot I would choose to get our hole.
Everyone seemed to agree that their backyard would be where they would take their selfie at, so the Loud sisters went home, then to their backyard, and started digging. Next door, the Louds' neighbor, Mr. Bud Grouse, was watching blue tulips that were in his garden...
Mr. Grouse: Oh, my beautiful blue tulips, soon you'll grow to be big and tall.
At the corner of his yard, Grouse saw dirt flying in from next door, sprinkling on his tulips...
Grouse: (groans) Unless some neighbors mess them up.
Grouse then walked over to the fence, where he saw the Loud sisters were almost finishing digging the hole...
Grouse: Hey, Louds!
Lisa, L.J., Lucy, Lana, and Lola immediately stopped digging, and turned to see their grumpy neighbor...
Grouse: Would you mind doing your digging somewhere else, please? Dirt is getting all over my tulips.
The 5 Loud girls were in disbelief, in that even in their own yard, they unintentionally caused trouble for someone else. In frustration, they all took their shovels, and walked out of the backyard. Now sitting on the front steps outside, the 5 Loud girls didn't know what to do...
L.J.: Wow, just... wow.
Lola: Every time we try to dig our hole somewhere, we bother someone else!
Lana: Yeah, first the beach, then the park, then even our own backyard!
All of them sighed in despair, because it didn't look like they were going to dig their hole. At that very moment, Aunt Shirley's limo make a stop in front of the Loud House, and Lincoln came out...
Lincoln: Hi, sisters.
The Loud girls dejectedly said 'Hello' to Lincoln.
Lincoln: I'd thought I would stop by to see my old home, for old time's sake.
Lana: Well, that's cool of you.
Lola: Thanks, Linky.
Lincoln saw that his sisters looked disappointed...
Lincoln: What's the matter?
L.J.: (sighs) We can't find the perfect spot to dig a hole and take a selfie inside it.
Lisa: It's because we keep digging where people are something else at.
Lucy: Unlucky.
Lincoln thought for a little bit, and soon, he had an idea...
Lincoln: I know of a place where you could dig that hole and not bother anyone!
Lana: Where?
Lincoln: The outskirts of town, or the countryside!
The 5 Loud girls then looked at each other, and smiled...
L.J.: That's perfect!
Lisa: Yes, the countryside has a lot of dirt and space.
Lola: Which means, there's so much land, we can find the best place to dig our hole without bothering anyone!
Lana: (happily) Alright, Lincoln!
Lincoln: Get in the limo, and we'll give you a ride there.
L.J., Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa went inside the limo together, they rode it out of Royal Woods, and into the countryside. When they got there,
Lincoln talked with a farmer who lived there. The farmer showed them an abandoned dirt patch that was in his field, and he explained that the girls could dig their celebratory hole there. The girls were ecstatic...
L.J.: We finally found a great place to take our selfie!
Lana: And to dig our hole!
Lisa: Normally, I'm not the one for inane emotions, but... (she excitedly jumped up and down)
Lola: Way to go, Linky! Thank you!
Lincoln: You're welcome. Now you can all dig that hole.
L.J., Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa had their shovels ready, and dug a big hole on that spot. This time, no one told the girls they were causing trouble.
Lucy: (smiles) A perfectly good hole.
Lola: I'll say.
As everyone went into the hole, and got ready to take their selfie, L.J. looked back, and said, 'Get in here, little bro. You deserve to be in this picture, too.'
Lincoln: Why. thanks.
Lincoln went into the hole with his sisters, and then L.J. held her phone up...
L.J.: Say 'Happy digging.'
Lincoln/Lucy/Lana/Lola/Lisa: Happy digging!
L.J. took the selfie, and the picture showed Lincoln and his 5 sisters in the hole, smiling and giving a thumbs-up. It was a great hole that the girls dug together, and also a great picture they and their brother took if themselves standing in it.
Lana: This is a keeper.
Lincoln and his sisters climbed out of the hole, and they looked over in the view of the countryside, happy that they took their selfie there.
