Battle for Wu Part 3
The battle began with both warriors clashing once they were in range. With several attempted blows, Taishi Ci attempted to use his strength to dominate his opponent. But Sun Ce was strong too and pushed back before making a few attempted strikes himself. Taishi Ci blocked these blows before also ducking under one of them, which resulted in Sun Ce's Great Sickle trimming some of the plume from Taishi Ci's helmet off. They backed up and charged in again, this time they struck with a powerful enough blow that they both knocked the other off their horse. Rolling back onto their feet as they hit the ground, the duo charged in again, this time on foot and began their clash once again, they blocked and countered each other's strikes again and again. Finally Sun Ce gained a small edge when he managed to land a strike with his Great Sickle, which Taishi Ci's helmet deflected, but said helmet was knocked off in the process.
"You fight well." Taishi Ci remarked.
Sun Ce grinned. "So do you, it's a shame you are my enemy, I can only imagine what we could do together."
Taishi Ci grimaced. "You speak nonsense, I owe Lord Liu Yao a debt, I must serve him."
"Really, yet he treats you so poorly." Sun Ce queried. "You can do better than that, he's simply taking advantage of you."
Taishi Ci seemed to hesitate, but then, with a yell he swung his twin rods and disarmed Sun Ce.
But Sun Ce wasn't deterred, he simply managed to yank one of Taishi Ci's twin rods out of the man's hand and soon they were both using one each to try and attack each other until finally knocking those weapons out of each other's hands too and ended up relying on their fists until finally they had locked hands and met each other with a mutual headbutt, pushing against each other.
"You really believe that Lord Liu Yao is using me?" Taishi Ci grunted.
"It's obvious." Sun Ce remarked. "Every chance we get to fight, you get called off. It's that really the kind of man you want to serve, rather than someone who understands and would gladly spar with you any time?"
Taishi Ci narrowed his eyes. "You...you are right. You are far more than I thought, Lord Sun Ce."
They finally parted and stood, both smiling. Then, without hesitating and already showing their newfound camaraderie, they retrieved each other's weapons, with Zhou Yu passing Sun Ce Taishi Ci's helmet and they exchanged them back.
"I will gather my troops and help you from now on, I will return." Taishi Ci explained.
Sun Ce nodded and Taishi Ci left, reassuring his men who doubted Taishi Ci's sincerity. Sure enough, by noon the following day, Taishi Ci returned with him men and soon was helping spread words and were beginning to reach out and placate the lands of Wu, gathering more allies and restoring order.

Finally Sun Ce smiled as he sat at the head of his army.
"Well everyone, this is it, it's been a long time coming, but finally, after all these years, we're going to finally drive out Liu Yao and claim the lands of Wu, Yang Province will be ours and we can finally build our own land." He announced. "Just one more push, it's time to besiege Jianye and defeat Liu Yao."
With that he gave a rallying cry, his army responding and they readied their siege weapons and together they began their advance upon the castle. Seeing the encroaching army as he stood on the wall, Liu Yao was panicking.
"This cannot, how could this happen, this upstart should have been destroyed long ago, how can he have come this far!?" He cried out. "Our allies…Taishi Ci…"
"My Lord, they're coming, your orders?" One of his remaining officers asked.
The Lord turned to him. "Stop them, no matter the cost."
With that he turned and left and the others were left to try and carry out that rather broad order, while Liu Yao retreated to the inner ward of the castle. This of course left his army to try and deal with the encroaching Sun army, all the while Sun Ce was in the thick of things with his own men, urging them on, sharing in their perils and inspiring them as they besieged the castle. This naturally had a detrimental effect on Liu Yao's forces, seeing their enemy doing something their own Lord wasn't doing, all due to cowardice, it wasn't long before the encouraged Sun Army broke through the gates and set up siege towers and began pouring into the castle as Liu Yao's forces broke.
Breaking through the castle gates and charging in, Sun Ce and Taishi Ci were in the lead.
"Let's go, we can win this." Sun Ce called out.
Taishi Ci then noticed something. "My Lord, look!"
They spotted something right away, it was Liu Yao, he and all his treasures, attempting to flee while the battle was ongoing.
"Lord Liu Yao, you coward." Taishi Ci growled.
Cheng Pu snarled. "Such cowardice, I won't let him get away with this."
Then, in a shocking display of temper, the veteran broke ranks and charged straight for Liu Yao. Seeing this, Liu Yao panicked and tried to plead for mercy, however it was useless and he was soon cut down by Cheng Pu. It had a naturally devastating effect on the morale of the rest of Liu Yao's forces and they were soon surrendering. Sun Ce and his army let out a cheer as it finally dawned on them all, they had won, they had conquered Yang Province, the lands of Wu were once more under control of the Sun family. By the following day, things were settled and Sun Ce settled into his new role as Lord of Wu, working on restoring peace and order around Yang Province and gathering and settling his forces, while looking for new officers to help him in his endeavours. There was also still the matter of Yuan Shu to deal with.
