Samira Noori arrives at dr Vaachaspati's office. Kyle Singer begins asking her some questions.

Kyle: My name is Kyle Singer, do you speak english?
Samira: Enough to get buy.
Kyle: I'm sorry to bring you here under false pretenses but we need your help.
Samira: I am not sure I can speak to your side.
Kyle: I understand why you think it is dangerous, but the fact is that your life is already in danger. We have intelligence that Razi was planning to assasinate you before he died. If you have any idea why he wanted you dead, or who else might still want you dead, we might be able to help you.
Samira: Abdul Qadir G'ulom.
Kyle: The vice-president of Afghanistan?
Samira: I have been investigating his corruption.
Kyle: The fact that he's corrupt is the worst kept secret in Kabul.
Samira: I believe he was using Razi to eliminate his enemies, drug lords who wouldn't cooperate, the communists, general Kharal.
Kyle: Razi might have been trying to embolden his own people, that doesn't mean Gulom was involved.
Samira: Razi also massacred an orphanage two weeks ago.
Kyle: Yeah that never made sense to me. Massacering children just drove people away who might have otherwise agreed with him.
Samira: Gulom wants to use child soldiers, and to bring back child marriage.
Kyle: And president Daoud strongly opposes these things.
Samira: I have uncovered evidence that Gulom wishes to do it anyway. He might be plotting a coup against Daoud. But the director of this orphanage made it clear that he would not allow his children to be used in this manner. And so Razi murdered a lot of these children at Gulom's request.

President Keaton discusses the situation in Afghanistan with Templeton.

Templeton: If this is true, that elements of the Afghan government planned the assault on our embassy, we cannot just leave them in power.
Keaton: I agree, but we have already been there for nearly 20 years. The war has to end sometime.
Templeton: True, but if their government is involved in attacks against America, then the war is not over, not yet.
Keaton: Maybe, but I am not going to keep us in Afghanistan without some evidence of wrongdoing on their part.

Tony Almeida answers questions from Ryan Chapelle. He tells the truth, he hasn't had time to come up with a convincing lie. Tony tells how Jack asked for his help, how they tried to arrest John Walker, and how Nina Myers tried to turn Jack and Tony against each other. The only thing Tony leaves out is the fact that Chloe called him mere moments before he entered CTU. As far as Chapelle knows Tony Almeida has no idea he's the real traitor. At least that's what Tony hopes.

Ira Gaines watches the news. All over the country children are going to school, though many parents are keeping their kids home. The attacks originally would have been occuring in less than one hour, now the parents will be lulled into a false sense of security. Gaines assumes that fewer people wil be going to the baseball games than originally expected. Still, there will be more than enough casualties to satisfy Dmitry. Where things go from there is not Gaines' concern.
