Ranma 1/2: Anything Goes in the Apocalypse

Before you Read: As the Chapter title suggest, I am starting this story at the same point as the Ranma 1/2 Anime.
Episode 1: Meeting the family/Episode 2: The Secret
(?) RANMA, get a grip, we got to barricade the house and the dojo! There's no telling when there will be more of those things!
Ranma was in a daze, he looked around, but everything was a blur. It was going so fast that he could barely keep up with events. It rained, people he was unfamiliar with were running all around him, there was the color red everywhere. There was so much that he couldn't understand, but there were two things he saw and understood. There was dread in his heart and chaos happening all around him. A detail he came to remember, was the dark blue hair of a girl he had never met. Was he dreaming? Was this the future?
The dream continued until he felt something behind him and everything went black.
In real life, his father, Genma Saotome was carrying his son, whom he had just knocked out after Ranma wouldn't shut up about the fiancee situation.
Although it was his father, Genma was cursed to become a panda after being doused with cold water. His son was also cursed, but his son became . . . . his "daughter".
The shameless father carried his unconscious daughter to the home of his good friend, Soun Tendo. Although he didn't know about the curse, Genma was sure that everything in the next few months would be JUST FINE...
{At the same time, in the Tendo home}
Soun Tendo, a single father of three after his wife's passing, had failed to tell his own daughters about the agreement that he made with his best friend, Genma Saotome.
After calling each daughter down from their rooms, he explained for a good while what was about to happen in their lives.
The three deliberated only for a few moments before deciding that it was best for the youngest, Akane, to be the bride of her soon-to-be fiancee.
(Akane) (Laughs) Okay, I'm gonna take it that you two are joking right now and you aren't really considering this!
Her sisters were silent, basically telling Akane, that they were in fact, considering this.
(Akane) I don't care if he's the most beautiful man of all time, I'm not marrying some boy I don't even know! Also, I don't have to go along with this!
The girl stormed off and slammed her door shut. Leaving the rest of the three to deliberate, pondering their next steps.
It was beginning to get dark and rainy when Soun heard foot steps outside. He gathered the girls once again to greet their guest.
When their father went outside to greet them at the gate, the girls listened closely and tried to make out what he was saying, but couldn't hear over the rain hitting the ground.
He sounded confused at first. Asking them questions, discerning who they were. But after a few minutes, the girls scrambled back into place as their father introduced them to their guests.
They saw a wet panda in their common room, along with a small, Red-headed girl that had a similar face to Akane, one that said "Can I go now?"
(Nabiki) I thought the fiancee was supposed to be a man? Hell, if Akane doesn't want him, may I'll take 'em.
To this Ranma almost felt the ill intent and discreetly gave her the finger.
(Nabiki) Whatever then.
Before introducing themselves, Genma went to the bathroom and came back a human.
Shocked by this, Ranma told the family about their curses. He didn't allow his father to do it because he had been irresponsible enough lately.
This time, the eldest sister, Kasumi Tendo spoke up.
(Kasumi) So does this mean you're not really a girl?
TO answer her question, Ranma went and did the same thing his father did.
Afterwards, the families introduced themselves to each other.
But when Akane introduced herself, Ranma couldn't help but recognize her uniquely blue hair.
After he finished, he asked her.
(Ranma) Akane was it? Have we met before?
Akane, still outraged from before, let off a bit of steam on Ranma.
(Akane)(Aggressively) No, we haven't, please don't talk to me!
(Ranma) The Fucks your problem? You just met me!
(Akane)(Under her breath) Not because I wanted to...
(Ranma) Really, this is how it's gonna be? Pops, I can't marry this chick! She even looks like a dude to be honest...
The two argued like a very old married couple for a while before both father's told them to SHUT UP.
After some more conversation, and a few glares and off-handed remarks between Ranma and Akane, the Saotome's ended up spending the night. It was an uncomfortable night for everyone, mainly due to the pair of unhappy fiancees.
For a few days everything went as they normally did. Ranma and Genma would fight in the morning, the Ranma would fight Akane after school and then they would glare at each other over supper.
The two were so invested in being uninterested in each other, the almost failed to see everyone glued to the tv, watching the news. It was a broadcast about a new parasitic disease being discovered in the southern part of China.
Broadcaster) In recent news, we have learned that this new disease is highly infectious and can be severely damaging should you be infected. The CDC is currently working with each of it's entities from several different countries to figure out just what this new disease is and where it came from.
We will keep you informed if any new details arise in the wake of this small scientific horror.
The news went into another segment, seemingly about fashion then politics.
(Soun) Say, Saotome. Wasn't that where you and Ranma were cursed? You should go get checked out immediately if that's the case!
(Genma) Relax Tendo, if it'll make you feel better, then I'll go. But this is just the media tryin to scare the public with another "discovery".
The two headed to a local clinic, Dr. Tofu's office. The doctor ran tests on the both of them and found nothing out of the ordinary.
After heading back a little after noon, Genma proudly showed Soun that there was nothing wrong with either of them, other than, you know, their curses.
(Soun) Thank you Saotome, I am a little more at ease with this.
Another few days passed in the summer, same things, Ranma finds himself in awkward situations, finds a way out of them, everything goes back to normal and the day ends.
After a couple week of no coverage, a morning comes when the news returns.
(Broadcaster) Today we bring you a special broadcast. New information has been found regarding the unknown disease that has recently appeared. It appears to seem that the disease is spread through parasitic infection and eventual fatality of the victim. Unfortunately, the parasite is able to gain control of the host by sending the infection through the bloodstream and into the brain, but also, through this means of gaining control, the parasite is able to use every transmission at it's disposal. This includes, air, water, contact with skin, blood contact and it can even stick to surfaces after they have been touched by someone who is infected.
There is an upside to all of this. Only the original strain was able to survive outside of a host for long periods of time. After constant evolution, the parasite can only survive outside of the infected's body for only a couple minutes, unless it finds another victim.
With this information in mind, please take any and all precautions. The parasite has already found victims in places such as the United States, Canada, South America, the U.K. and others.
Limit your time outside and monitor your family.
One last thing. We urge everyone to remain calm. There are people at work to make sure this parasite never becomes a threat to anyone, ever.
After this broadcast, everyone seemed a little on edge, even though there was a lot of reassurance, it felt like there was just this nagging feeling that something was clearly wrong out there.
(Ranma) Okay, that was a little weird.
(Akane) I see we finally agree on something.
(Soun) Well, this means that you three are to leave this place only when necessary. Especially you Nabiki Tendo. I don't know what you do on your spare time, but I always see you just before you leave the house.
(Nabiki) Fine. (I guess the 10k yen I was gonna make from Kuno today is gonna have to wait. Damn parasite.)
After a few hours of this declaration, Ranma was in the training hall when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. It was Akane, she was in her usual Gi for when she trained alone.
(Akane) Mind if I join you?
(Ranma) I don't see why not.
The two trained together, giving each other tips and suggestions as to perfect the other's technique.
After training, the two sat on the patio, allowing themselves to cool off after the work out.
(Akane) I got a question for you, Ranma.
(Ranma) What's up?
(Akane) What's it like? You know, being cursed.
(Ranma) well, it's better than I thought. I thought I couldn't change back for a second, but after the guide told us how, I felt fine.
(Akane) But what about when you're a girl? Doesn't it feel wrong? You become someone else whom you were cursed to become after you transform into your cursed form.
Ranma looked down, he had never really thought of the person he transformed into. She had once been a living, breathing human being who died at a young age. Now she was just a curse that made her a doll for whoever she cursed to do whatever they wanted with her face. It was a sad reality he had never thought of before.
But it didn't bother him. All he knew was that he was cursed to look like her, and that was that.
(Ranma) So, wanna spar me in my cursed form?
(Akane) If you want to get your ass kicked that badly then lets go!
The two sparred for half an hour before Akane was able to grab Ranma by her light shoulder and send her to the ground with a thump
Afterwards, they rested and washed themselves of the workout.
Somehow, even though there were time they would be at each others throats, they found interesting ways to slowl connect with one another
After the baths, the two walked passed the common room and up the stairs because Ranma told Akane, he had never heard of Manga or anime.
Making sure the two were out of ear shot, Soun spoke to Genma as they played one of their daily Shogi matches.
(Soun) You know Saotome, I believe our children are finally starting to get along. I guess we won't be forced to call off the engagement.
Soun waited for an answer, but forgot that he was severely overpowering his friend like he usually did. This meant that Genma wouldn't hear anything unless he was either defeated or an outside force knocked him back to reality.
Soun finished the game and Genma was back.
(Soun) Did you even hear what I said Saotome?
(Genma) Yeah. I did. About our children getting along.
Soun was surprised that his friend had actually listened.
(Genma) I'm glad it was your daughter he's gonna marry Tendo. If it were any other girl, he would be too much for them.
Soun couldn't believe it. Genma was happy, not for himself or something he had done, but for his own son's future.
The two sat on the patio, thinking about the great things that are in store for these two.
End of Episode 1(Redo): Meeting the Family
Episode 2: The Beginning
It was the next day, Ranma and Akane were taking a break from training when Ranma had an idea.
(Ranma)(M) Hey Akane. It's been awhile since we've left the dojo. Let's see what the outside looks like!
Akane immediately had a disapproving face upon her.
(Akane) You know we can't just do that right?
(Ranma) Why not? It's not like buildings are burning and society is collapsing
Although it sounded wild. Akane had to admit, seeing only the dojo walls day in and day out was getting boring.
The two went to Soun and Genma, who were sitting on the patio like they usually did and drinking tea.
(Ranma) Mr. Tendo, Pops. Would it be alright if me and Akane went for a little walk?
It was as if Soun had already pondered the question beforehand, because he had already prepared an answer.
(Soun) That's fine, there hasn't been any news recently and I do need some groceries from the store. Here's the deal. You two can go outside, but you go to the store and come right back, understood?
Before Ranma could protest, Akane quickly spoke for the both of them.
(Akane) That sounds fine, RIGHT RANMA?
(Ranma) Sure, sounds great.
The two got the list from Soun and they were on their way.
As they walked, they saw that there were barely any people out.
In the market, they were luckily able to find everything they needed on Soun's list. Certain items in the store however, had either sold out or were stolen from the packages.
On the way home, they walked a little faster because it seemed that some people, looked dead. Not in the exaggerated way that family and friends say. These people looked like they had escaped from a lab after their bodies were experimented on.
Although they weren't making themselves seen, they were completely covered from head to toe, with only their wrinkly, diseased face showing with their cloudy white eyes tracking those who went near them.
When they arrived home, Genma was waiting for them outside the gates.
(Ranma) Pops, what're ya doin out here?
Genma took a deep breath before saying his next words.
(Genma) Ranma, your mother... She's here to visit us. A friend that says he knows you is also here.
Okay, the friends a mystery but, did you say... my mother?
(Genma) Yes and she would like to see the both of us. I thinks it's in our best interest to tell your mother about our curses.
(Ranma) REALLY!? I thought you would want to hide so she wouldn't know. Well then, let go greet her then.
As Genma shut the gate behind them, he called Akane.
(Genma) Oh and Akane!
Akane looked at him.
(Genma) Although you two aren't really fiancees yet, I think you should meet his mother, as his friend.
Akane smiled and agreed. It was the first time that someone other than Ranma and her sisters didn't force her to use the title fiancee.
The three walked into the common room to find Soun Tendo talking to two people. Ranma recognized the friend immediately, it was Ryoga. The other, was a woman with bright flowing hair who was dressed traditionally. He was able to recognize her from the distant past, it was his own mother. After 14 log years, he remembers her from when he was just a toddler. She spoke.
(Nodoka) Genma... Ranma... OH HOW LONG IT'S BEEN!
How are you two, tell me everything!
She went on to ask them many questions about their travels. Genma intentionally left out the bits where he married Ranma off to random girls for food and other items... and Jusenkyo.
After the initial shock wore off. Ranma and Genma looked at each other and nodded.
(Ranma) Mom, we have to show you something, and you're not gonna like it...
(Nodoka) What is it?
Both of them poured cold water on themselves to transform into their cursed forms. Genma a panda and Ranma a girl.
(Nodoka) Huh? I don't get it. magic trick?
(Ranma)(F) No mom, It's me and dad. We got cursed in China at a cursed spring. I turn into a girl, dad turns into a panda.
(Nodoka) Ha ha, very funny child, I don't know how you did that, but I applaud you. Soun, where are my son and husband?
(Soun) *Sigh* Ms. Saotome, I regret to inform you that, those two ARE your husband and son.
Nodoka sat there for a second, staring at the two.
(Nodoka) I see... How did this happen again?
(Ranma) We went to a training ground in China where there were cursed springs. We each fell in.
(Nodoka) Well, I see. It was your dad's fault wasn't it?
(Ranma) Definitely.
(Nodoka) I see.
Since Genma couldn't talk, he just looked at his family, with judgement.
(Ranma) Now that that's out of the way, it's great to finally see you. And Ryoga, been a while!
(Ryoga) It's good to see you as well Ranma. I gotta admit, I came here still pretty pissed at you for not fighting you, but I guess I'm just glad to see friendly faces.
(Ryoga) By the way Ranma, Who is she?
(Nodoka) I was beginning to wonder the same thing. Who is she Ranma?
It took a moment for Ranma to realize that the two of them were referring to Akane.
(Ranma) Would ya want to introduce yourself?
(Akane) Sure
(Akane) I'm Akane, a friend of Ranma's. Nice to meet both of you.
(Nodoka) Well, at least he met a nice girl here. Akane, does Ranma use his curse for "dishonorable" purposes?
(Akane) No, not that I know of.
(Nodoka) Well, if he ever does, let me know and i'll strike him down.
Everyone talked for a little while longer, coming to the agreement that Nodoka and Ryoga would stay the night before going home.
After everyone went somewhere else, Soun went to watch the evening news, but was startled by the loud emergency tone on the tv. It was a special announcement
Soun gathered everyone in the common room to watch the announcement.
Everyone waited for it to start. Everyone was a little nervous, this type of thing was only reserved for things such as earthquakes, tsunamis or outbreaks.
But this was different. It didn't show an earthquake or a tsunami. It showed something very different.
The Prime Minister of Japan walked into view.

JUSENKYO TRAINING GROUNDS. THIS PLACE IS LOCATED IN THE BAYANKALA MOUNTAINS OF THE QINGHAI PROVINCE. WE KNOW THAT THE INFECTION SPREAD FROM THESE CURSED TRAINING GROUNDS TO A
NEARBY VILLAGE OF A FEMALE-DOMINANT TRIBE. IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW HAS BEEN TO CHINA RECENTLY, QUARANTINE THOSE PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY AS THEY MAY BE INFECTED! IF YOU SEE SOMEONE ACTING
