"Are you done yet? Are you done yet?" Steve asked excitedly from outside the bathroom.

Laura leaned back against the bathroom door and laughed. "No," she said firmly. "I literally just walked in here.

"Hurry up!" Steve whined.

Laura shook her head and walked over to the toilet. She pulled down her jeans and panties and sat. She opened the box with the pregnancy test and pulled out the instructions. They were pretty straightforward. She moved the stick below her and released her bladder. When she was done, she placed it carefully on the box to avoid getting pee on the counter.

"What about now?" Steve asked.

"Almost," she sighed, rolling her eyes. She flushed and washed her hands. She paused and looked at herself in the mirror. She shook her head again as she thought about Steve. That boy was too much. They had started trying the second he got his memory back, but that was only eight days ago! The only way this test could be positive was if she got pregnant on their very first night. She fixed her hair and walked back to the door. She opened it, and Steve tumbled to the ground. He had been listening intently at the door, resting his full weight against it.

"Wah!" he cried as he fell.

Laura looked down at him in shock. "Were you eavesdropping on me? Going to the bathroom?!" she sneered in disgust.

He stood and adjusted his glasses. "No," he said. "I was eavesdropping on you taking a pregnancy test."

She shook her head, completely baffled. "EW!" she said eventually.

He smiled at her and pulled her against him. "Did you do it?" he grinned.

His smile was so pure, it was infectious. Laura couldn't help but smile back at him. "Yes," she said softly. "Of course, I did, but we can't check it for five minutes."

"Can I see it?" he asked, bouncing on his heels excitedly.

"No," she laughed.

"Please?"

"That's weird!"

"Pretty please? Pretty please with ice cream and pickles on top?" he begged.

Laura sighed and closed her eyes in exasperation. "Fine. It's on the counter."

He rushed immediately to the counter and picked up the test.

"Ew! Don't touch it!" she said, but it was too late.

He held it close to his face and began to search desperately for a sign. He had purchased one of those new, fancy digital ones, hoping to avoid all those confusing pink lines, and was suddenly terrified that it was broken. How many times were they tested? How many trials were done? On how many women? He'd never get an accurate result!

"Steve," Laura said behind him, "it takes five minutes. I set the timer in the kitchen. Come sit down with me."

"No, thanks," he said, watching the test intently. "I'm good."

Laura's jaw clenched as she reached the end of her patience. "Steve Urkel, put that test down, and come sit with me on the bed right now."

"But, Laura," he began to argue with her.

"We are supposed to be going through this together. Wash your hands, and come hold your wife," she ordered.

He nodded and set the test down. He washed his hands and dried them on his way back into the bedroom. He sat on the edge of the bed, and she took his hands.

"Steve, honey, you're scaring me a little bit."

"What do you mean?" he asked. "How?"

"You know we're not pregnant, yet, right?"

"You could be!" he argued. "We've been going at it like bunny rabbits since I got my memory back!"

"Eight days ago!"

"I know, but that new test says it can pick it up as early as six days in!" he said.

"I know, but, baby, making a baby takes time," she said gently. "You need to be patient."

"Laura, lots of people do it on accident! It can't be that hard!" he said.

Laura laughed and shook her head at him. "I just don't want you to get your hopes up and be disappointed," she said.

He looked down at their joined hands. "Oh, my hopes are on the moon, Sweetums. You are way too late."

Laura took a deep breath and sighed. "Ok, but if I'm not pregnant, promise me you won't flip out. It's perfectly normal for couples to take a little time to get it right."

"I promise," he said as confidently as he could.

Still, she could see the freak-out coming. He began rambling like a crazy person about baby names and nursery colors and child-proofing as she just sat there trying to keep herself together. They both jumped when the timer went off. Laura walked slowly out to the kitchen to turn it off as he tugged on her hand.

"Laura! You're going the wrong way!" he grumbled, pulling on her gently as she ignored him.

She turned off the timer and turned back to him. "Take a deep breath, ok?" she said as she gripped his shoulders firmly. She waited for him to follow her instructions before she began to walk back to the bathroom. She picked up the test, and Steve exhaled heavily behind her. She realized he had been holding that deep breath and glanced back at him. He was watching her intently.

"What does it say?" he prompted.

Laura felt a few butterflies in her stomach herself. She lifted the test in front of her and couldn't believe her eyes. "Oh, my God," she breathed.

Steve's eyes widened. "What does it say?" he asked excitedly.

"Oh, my God," she repeated louder.

"What does it say?" he yelled.

"OH, MY GOD!" she cried, looking up to him, beaming wildly. "Oh, God, Steve, I'm pregnant!" she announced, opening her arms for him.

His eyes rolled back in his head, and he fainted immediately. Laura ran to catch him, hoping to help him avoid another head injury, but she missed. Thankfully, he landed on his side, and his head hit his arm rather than the tile. She knelt beside him and pulled him into her lap. She wiped the tears that were streaming down her face. She couldn't stop smiling as she stroked his head, waiting for him to wake up and join her in their big moment.

When Steve opened his eyes, he looked up at her lovingly. "Laura," he began before he noticed she was crying. "Laura Lee, what's wrong?"

She shook her head and wiped her tears as he sat up. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing," she laughed. "Oh, God, I thought I'd be terrified, but I'm not. This is the happiest day of my life," she whispered as her tears stole her voice.

He cocked his head at her. "Why?"

Laura laughed as she realized he hadn't fully processed what was happening before passing out. She held out her hand to give him the test. "That's why you fainted. I'm pregnant, Steve," she smiled. "We're having a baby."

His breath hitched, and his shaking hand took the test from her. He held it close to his face and smiled brightly as he read the word again and again. He began to cry, too. He looked up at her and smiled. Suddenly, he leapt forward and knocked her to the ground, just barely getting his hand behind her in time to protect her head as he tackled her. He lay down on top of her and covered her face in kisses as they both giggled and cried. After several long minutes, he paused his attack and looked down at her. He stroked her cheek gently. "We're having a baby?" he confirmed.

"Yes," she nodded adamantly. "We're having a baby."

He began to kiss her again, this time much more passionately. Soon, he was pawing at her top, slipping his hands underneath it to grope her breasts. She quickly got the point and began to unbutton his shirt. She tossed it aside and went to his belt as he continued to kiss her aggressively. He lifted her shirt up and tugged it off of her. He unhooked her bra and tossed it aside. His hands began to knead her breasts and his agile fingers stimulated her sensitive nipples. He kissed between her breasts and motorboated her. "These are gonna get so big for me," he purred.

"I thought you liked them the way they are," she complained.

"I do," he promised, peppering her breasts in kisses, "but I'm also gonna love them full of milk."

"Mmmm…" Laura moaned as he began to suckle on her nipple. She gently stroked the back of his head.

He unbuttoned her jeans and pulled them down with her panties, he pulled away from her to slip them off. He leaned down to her womanhood and began to eat her as he unbuckled his belt and slipped his own pants partway down, far enough to expose his member.

"Oooooooo, Steve…" she whimpered as his tongue worked its magic on her. He sucked greedily on her clit as he began to finger her, stroking her G-spot again and again.

"Come for Daddy, Baby," he purred. "Please, come for Daddy."

"Daddy…" her strained voice moaned.

He kept at it until she began to moan and tremble around him, at which point he quickly pulled away. He spread her legs hard and lined himself up with her entrance. "We're gonna have a baby," he said again.

"Yes," Laura nodded in agreement.

"Can I make love to you, Laura Lee?" he asked softly.

"Absolutely," she promised. "Oh!" she cried as he pushed himself hard inside her. "Oh, yes…"

He began to move in and out of her quickly, unable and unwilling to hold anything back. This was the mother of his child and the love of his life. She had agreed to share her body with him. She had agreed to carry their child and make their love stronger every day for the next ten months. She had given herself to him completely. He treasured that feeling and took her with all of his might, calling her name again and again.

When Steve was completely finished, he rolled off of her naked body and propped himself up on an elbow to look at her. She was panting heavily, but turned slightly to look up into his eyes. He smiled down at her and placed a timid hand on her flat stomach. "We're having a baby," he said again.

She placed her ring hand on his hand and held it tightly on her. "We're having a baby," she repeated.

"She's going to be beautiful and brilliant and kind, just like her mother," he said.

"What makes you think it's a girl?" she challenged.

"I can just tell," he said.

She laughed and shook her head at him. "I have to call my OBGYN so we can get this confirmed," she said.

Steve's face grew nervous. "But the test…"

"They're not always accurate, Steve. It's probably fine, but we have to double check."

"Ok," he nodded, sitting up, "but can I go with you? I want to be there when we know for sure."

She smiled. "Of course, you can."

"And it has to be soon. I need to know, my love."

"Ok, I'll call right now," she answered, standing up. She slipped on Steve's shirt and buttoned it as she walked to her address book to call her doctor.

Steve picked up the pregnancy test and set it carefully back in the box. He pulled his boxers back up, took his pants the rest of the way off, and began to gather the rest of their clothes. He tossed them in the hamper and slipped on his robe before going to sit by Laura on the couch. He wrapped an arm around her as she flipped through her calendar and marked some important dates. When she hung up, she turned to Steve. "My OB can't see me until I'm eight weeks along, but they suggested I go to the clinic at IOU. They can do a urine test and a blood test to give us firmer results. Plus, they take walk-ins, which my GP does not."

He nodded. "Ok, when can we do that?"

"Can you take a long lunch Monday?" she asked.

"For this? Absolutely," he confirmed.

"Ok, then it's a date." Laura leaned closer to him. "I love you," she said.

"I love you, too… Mama," he purred.
