Hello All! Sorry about the lack of uploads and what not. I have had many issues in life and with writing. I want you all to know that I am currently trying to write another chapter for FTF, as well as a potential short story as well. I do have something else in the works but that one seems to be farther out.

In hopes that I could find motivation to continue moving forward with writing I decided to write a one-shot of an idea that I had. I will warn you all that it is a little more on the dark side and has suicidal thoughts to it, so please be advised. Thank you all once again for reading and reviewing my works and I sincerely apologize.

Weiss stood at the podium in the giant room staring up at a man sitting high above her. Above and off to her left are ten chairs set aside for the heroes of Remnant. Only two of these chairs are currently occupied, given that one was meant for her as well she knew at least one would be empty, but it still hurts that her once friends wouldn't even come for one of her last days on Remnant. The two who did come were her sister Winter and Qrow Branwen, at least they hadn't forsaken her as well. Though Winter is giving her a curious glare as to why she is up here at the moment, and thinking about it from an outsider's perspective it is rather odd.

After all, she is one of the great heroes that stopped Salem and saved Remnant, also known as the ten. That was mere weeks ago and since then what remains of Remnant is rebuilding. It took a week for them to configure the two broken towers enough to reestablish the CCTS across the globe and allow communication again, and after that the trials began. First it was anyone that had helped Salem, both alive or dead. For those no longer among the living it was merely for informing the public and having their names written down in history as the most vile people to exist. The only one on that list that was currently out in the world was Cinder, and that was Weiss' fault.

Next came those that had betrayed their country and the people of Remnant. All under that list were dead already, but it did serve to ruin their names forever. Weiss was happy when she heard that Ironwood would go down as one of the worst tyrants in history for how he led to the fall of Atlas. Lionheart was also mentioned here as Ozpin had finally allowed the truth to come out about what really happened at Haven Academy. The outcry in Mistral was heard across the world.

Now it was on the SDC and the Schnee family, for crimes against humanity among many other heinous acts committed by her father. Too bad the man died in the fall of Atlas, she would have loved to see his face as they decided that he will go down in history as the worst of scum. But at least the world now knew of his many crimes, some of which even she hadn't known about.

The trial started with the judge asking both Winter and herself if they wanted to be part of it, after all the world knew of their sacrifices and deeds to save it. They could have said no and either one of them would have to stand trial. Winter of course said no, she has gone through so much and cut her life from that vile man so many years ago that she shouldn't have even been asked. When it was Weiss' turn she had stunned the world and said yes, she wanted to be on trial like the rest of her family. She did ask to be tried last though. The judge accepted this with a confused look and the trial went on.

Her mother was the first of those still alive. Luckily there were many ways to defend her, and three different people that helped with it. Obviously both Weiss and Winter had said their pieces about how she had no say in the company or the treatment of its workers. How their father mentally broke her to the point where she could only drink alcohol all day to make the pain go away. After the fall she helped as many of the Atlesian refugees as she could, often forgoing food to give it to others. Qrow helped by saying how she had stopped drinking and stayed sober since she arrived in the refugee camp, and how truly hard it was for an alcoholic to stay that way. He also brought up how she was the one that found out Jacques had betrayed Atlas and rigged an election, and gave that information to the proper authorities at the time. Though seeing it now, Ironwood was not a good choice, but alas at the time they didn't know.

Thus she was found not guilty of any crimes and her name was cleared before all of Remnant. The news spread fast across the globe now that the CCTS was operational, and based on how it was received the world agreed. Next was Whitley. It was even easier to prove his innocence, he was far too young to have any true say in the company and when he did have some power he used it for good. Though Ironwood destroyed the ships he was the one that came up with the idea to use the Schnee cargo ships to try to save the people of Mantle. His help in orphanages in Vacuo after the fall also helped. So it was not hard to imagine when he was found not guilty.

Yet now it was finally Weiss' turn. So the judge announced "Weiss Schnee stands before us as a Schnee. Part of a family connected to the Schnee Dust Company that committed many terrible crimes in its history on Remnant. She is also one of the ten and has done many great deeds for the people of Remnant. Weiss, what do you say to the reason you stand before us today?"

Weiss clears her throat as she prepares her speech. One of the best things her father has taught her throughout her life was how to keep a neutral mask on, to never show your emotions. Ever since the defeat of Salem she has worn it. After all her world collapsed on that very day… "I, Weiss Schnee, daughter of Jacques Schnee, wish to be charged with the crimes that the previous CEO of the SDC has committed." Murmurs spread throughout the hall from the crowds that have come to watch the trials. Her sister yells out at her to stop, her mother just gasps and tears start to form in her eyes, and her brother looks like his mind has gone completely blank.

The judge coughs to grab the room's attention once more and states "You have done much good for this world and do not share your fathers beliefs. Why do you want this?"

Weiss feels nervous, this is what she wanted after all, a way to finally end her misery. She still remembers the moment her world broke.

Weiss was panting horribly as her legs gave out after the fight had finally finished. Yet she was so excited now. They had done it! They had defeated Salem and saved the world! That all came crashing down when a red blur came right in her face and started yelling at her.

"What the hell were you doing! I could have stopped her before and you stopped me! Why!?" Ruby yelled at the sitting white haired woman.

Weiss winced at the yelling but she defended herself "You were going to sacrifice yourself! That is not the way to win!"

Ruby just angrier at her "So you ruined my plans! I thought you trusted me!"

"I do, but not when it involves killing yourself!" Weiss screamed back as tears rolled down her eyes. Ruby promised that she wouldn't go on her hero complex and yet she tried to do that. She promised Weiss that she would work together for a better solution so that they could finally be together when Salem was gone.

Fed up, Ruby started to walk away and yelled over her shoulder "I hate you! I never want to see you again!" Weiss felt her heart break into so many pieces, her world felt hollow as the only thing that brought meaning to it left. She saw Yang give her a look that showed that she appreciated what she had done, but wouldn't say anything. Blake gave her a sad knowing look that told her that she was on Weiss' side, but neither said a word. Both just followed Ruby away. Before Weiss could respond and try to save her world from complete collapse, Jaune got into her face.

"Because of you, Cinder escaped! Because of you, team CRDL is dead!" he yelled at her.

This caused Weiss to look at the rest of his team and Oscar( well really Ozpin, the boy lost control long ago). Nora and Ren had looks of hate directed at her, Ozpin only had a neutral look on his face. So Weiss whimpered "I did what I thought was right.."

"Well you thought fucking wrong!" screamed Jaune in her face. "If you had let Ruby do that initial attack she would have destroyed both Salem and that bitch Cinder! But instead you stopped her and Salem killed CRDL before we could stop her! Their blood is on your hands!" With that he turned and walked away with his team, leaving Weiss all alone once again in her life. She couldn't stop the tears from flooding down her face.

Eventually she felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see her sister giving her a saddened look. Eventually the older Schnee knelt down and gave her a rare hug as the younger cried into her shoulder. Qrow stood guard near the two Schnee's, letting them have their moment before the trio walked away together.

"As the current head of the SDC, I believe it is my responsibility to be held responsible for my predecessor's crimes." Weiss starts her speech, in the distance she can hear her brother's cries that it was not true. Yet she pushes on "I also believe that someone must be held accountable for the crimes that the SDC has committed, so that something like this will never happen again."

The judge hums to signify that he understands what she is saying, yet he still poses a question "From my understanding you were not the heiress of the SDC upon your father's death. Your brother held that title and thus he is the true owner of the company."

Weiss rebuttals once it is her turn "While my father stated as such, that is not the truth. I had looked into the legal files that I had submitted to the court that my father had never changed who was to be his heir. Thus upon his death I became the owner of the SDC."

With this the judge looks through some field on his desk for a few minutes, scanning to see if what Weiss says is true. Once he is finished he looks back at her and replies "It seems that you are correct, you are indeed the heiress in his will. Yet that does not mean that you should bear his crimes. You have helped many faunus among your journeys and have spoken many times for them to have better rights. Something that your father would never do."

Weiss understands that, during her travels across Remnant she had encountered many faunus and helped them many times, not just physically but emotionally. She held many speeches with Blake in small towns about how they are all supposed to work together and how everyone is different and we should not judge one solely on those differences. She felt pride knowing that she was making a difference in many people's worlds, and yet now she felt nothing. It was all washed away once those sterling silver orbs left her life.

She shook her head and finally responded "Yes I have. I do believe that faunus should have equal rights in all regards to humans. That does not have to do with the crimes of the SDC though. I wish to be tried for its crimes only, as the current head of the company."

The judge just looked down at her once again and thought for a moment. After much consideration he finally asked one more question "The crimes of the SDC are great, if you are found guilty of them you will be sent to the gallows. You do understand this right?"

Weiss just simply smiled her fake smile and responded "I do."

When they finally arrived back in Vale, Weiss still felt hollow. The ten were received as heroes and those lost along the way were seen as great allies. Ozpin had made sure that CRDL was stated to have died giving them the chance to get to Salem and not by her hands. He did not want the world to know of her choice and the consequences that it had. Shortly after their great reception the group split apart. Team JNR immediately left to go on the hunt for Cinder across Remnant. They would not stop until she was dead. The guilt that she had made their journey even longer rested inside of Weiss like a lead weight.

Ozpin joined up with headmistress Glynda and the two of them went to work finally rebuilding Beacon. The Wyvern had finally disintegrated when Salem had died, being a Grimm of her creation, and led to Beacon slowly being cleared of Grimm. It had nearly been five years but the school looked like it could be salvaged once again. They also had a team make a quick solution to getting the CCT back up and while it didn't look appealing it was functional.

The rest of Weiss' team went somewhere unknown, at least to Weiss. She had a hint that Qrow knew, but she didn't ask. Her heart couldn't handle Ruby yelling at her again. The only two to stay with her were her sister and Qrow himself. The man felt he should stick with them until the whole Atlas situation was settled, mainly what to do with the one third of the population that escaped its fall.

Weiss didn't know what to do anymore, and thought that she should just end it all. Yet that was too easy for someone that has done such moronic acts. For someone alone once again. She had to continue on and suffer, that was her atonement to the world. That was until she heard about the trials that were going to be held so the world as a whole knew what happened, until she heard that her family was going to be a part of that trial for what Jacques had done. That's when she came up with a plan.

It had been three hours since the jury had gone into recess to discuss the plea. By far the longest of any of these trials. To be fair most of them were done deal cases, and mostly for people long dead to the world. The Schnee's were the first to have a decent amount of actually living people on trial and among them none were truly guilty of the crimes charged. Weiss knew that she was even reaching with her excuse to be found guilty of crimes against humanity. Yet the world became silent as the jury came back into the room.

The judge didn't even need to silence the room as the jury sat back down on their chairs. Though he did cough to make sure his voice was ready after the extended break. "Has the jury made a verdict on the crimes against humanity on Weiss Schnee?"

A thin man in the front of the jury stood up and replied "We have your honor."

The judge nodded his head and said "The charges of Crimes against humanity that the SDC has committed to thousands under its employment against Weiss Schnee, how do you find her?"

The suspense is felt across the world, the entirety of man waits on one simple response. The response is finally given by a male voice filled with guilt "Guilty." The room explodes with anger, cheers, wails, and disgust. Less than a month after the ten saved the world the first one was sentenced to death for crimes that they had never committed. To serve as an example of what happens to those that think that they can do what they want to other people. Weiss is elated at it, she finally has a way to end her misery. She finally has a way to atone for her sins, she has a way to sacrifice herself to better the world. Out of the Schnee's she is the only one happy, and even she does not show it. Her face still stays in that neutral expression that it became after the battle as she scans her other family members. She sees Winter's face of pure shock and horror staring back at her with a hand of support on her shoulder from a sadden Qrow. She sees her mother openly weeping, getting comforted by Klein and she sees her brother looking as if his world has just shattered, trying to figure out how it came to this.

All were confused on why it came to this, but Weiss understood. Until this point all the accused had been deceased and thus the public could not place their blame truly on them. No, the public needed someone alive to point their anger towards, their regrets at, and Weiss had chosen to be that person. She was the first person to be present that offered to take it, sure Cinder was alive and out there, but she wasn't here. Not in front of the people, ready to take blame. No, instead Weiss chose to be that person. With this the world could finally rebuild, with this they can finally move on, and so could she.

The judge hammered his gavel down multiple times to gather the room's attention again. It worked extremely well as he almost never used it until this point, for he had no need to. The room fell quiet and all eyes turned towards him. His face looked even more guilty than the man who had answered earlier, a look that said he didn't want to do this. Yet it was his job and thus he announced "The hero Weiss Schnee is guilty of crimes against humanity in suit of the SDC. She may not have committed these crimes herself but has taken on the responsibility of the SDC crimes in the face of her deceased predecessor. She is sentenced to be hanged tomorrow at noon in the Grand Vale Plaza in accordance with Valian law. While she is an aura user she had voluntarily chosen to represent these crimes and is thus deemed not a flight risk. She will be allowed to spend her last day with her family." With one final swing of the gavel the room dispersed.

That night had been a wild ride for Weiss. Her family was furious with her for her decision to represent the SDC. When it had seemed that the whole family could be saved from what remained of the vile man known as Jacques, Weiss had willingly chosen to follow him to her death. She still remembers the sting of the slap that she received from Winter before she saw her sister break down for the first time. Qrow helped console her and even refrained from any nicknames, knowing all too well that the Atlesian specialist was not in a great spot mentally. She heard her mother cry more than she could ever remember and begged her to just run away and live or for her to take Weiss' spot. Of course Weiss had refused, she wanted her mother to live and finally have some happy moments after her evil husband was gone. Whitley for the first time since he was four actually acted like a kid and would not leave Weiss' side the entire night.

Of course the news was going absolutely wild over the events of the day. One of the ten had been sentenced to hang, before even the award ceremony was set up for them. It had been delayed so much due to the fact that JNR had disappeared so fast to track Cinder. The news went over how Weiss decided to willingly take over the crimes of the SDC to show the world what happens to those that try to get away with doing such crimes. How Weiss was making sure that the future would be brighter for the generations to come, and mainly on how seven of the ten never even showed up for it. That last part stung worse than Weiss could ever imagine. She had hoped that at least Blake would have shown up to see the results of the Schnee trials, and yet none did. She could only imagine how happy they all were hearing that she was soon to be put to rest and how they would never have to see her again.

That night Klein made dinner for the six of them present in the little house owned by Qrow on the outskirts of Vale. It certainly wasn't large but it felt cozy for a place rarely seeing any guests until recently. Klein had made her favorite meal, a beef stew with extra carrots. He even made sure to grab her favorite dessert, blueberry frozen yogurt. It was a fitting last meal for her, if she had any say in it. Of course she went to bed that night cuddled by her sister, and she felt cozy. She knew Winter would miss her the most, the two sisters had grown really close over their lives in and out of that cold manor, but now she had Qrow and she knew that Winter would eventually move on. Luckily for Weiss, for the first time in many days sleep found her quickly.

The battle of Haven had just ended the day before and many of her comrades still held wounds from it, especially Weiss. If it had not been for Jaune unlocking his semblance she would have died in that academy surrounded by her friends, and yet she survived. So she did what she wanted to do, talked to the many faunus that had helped stop the white fang from starting another Beacon. It had been rather awkward at first, many still fearing a Schnee, but she eventually found the conversations moving smoothly. She had thanked them for helping and risking their lives, apologized for what the SDC had done to many innocent faunus in those mines, and truly got to know them as people. It felt liberating, and the only thing that stopped her was the flaring of her injury and Ruby.

Ruby had been acting rather oddly since the battle, she was almost overprotective of Weiss. Any sign of distress of the white haired woman and Ruby would try almost carrying Weiss back to a chair and asking if she needed anything. Weiss found it both enduring and annoying. So she decided to lay her foot down about it and that led to Ruby taking her to one of the cliffs at the top of Mistral. Once the two had reached the top Weiss was blown away by the breathtaking view, from here you could see all the wilderness that surrounded the city, bathed in the soft light from the shattered moon above. The moon itself looked so close to them as they sat down on the cliff.

And yet the thing that really looked the most beautiful of all was the woman who sat down next to Weiss. The moonlight shone down on her and almost gave an angelic look, softly outlining her red hair that grew in vibrancy towards its tips. Her silver eyes glowed in the crisp night air, looking even brighter than the moon above. Her small smile gave off an innocence that Weiss had never seen anywhere else before, but felt that her leader had always had. People had always told Weiss that she was beautiful her entire life, but if they saw what she was currently looking at they would truly know beauty. Weiss continued to stare and take in the view of her partner until she heard an ahem from said woman. Weiss' eyes immediately locked onto Ruby's and the ex-heiresses face immediately blushed brighter than the cloak the Ruby wore. She turned her head away and Ruby only laughed.

"I found this on my first day looking around the town. A local told me about it, and I just had to show you." Ruby lightly said as she swung her legs in the air.

Weiss quickly found her voice and replied "It really is a beautiful view."

"Yup!" Ruby happily replied while popping the 'p'.

Weiss just chuckled at that and finally asked "Ruby, why are you being so protective of me?"

Ruby tensed at this and sheepishly laughed "I don't know what you mean.."

"I mean, ever since the battle you always treat me like I'm a little kid. I will let you know that I am older than you." Weiss replies with a light scolding.

"Yea, but I almost lost you Weiss." Ruby replies quietly.

Oh so that is what this is about, how she got injured. "I understand Ruby, but we are fighting in a war. There will be injuries, so that doesn't mean you should coddle me."

Ruby just sighs at this and replies "But I don't want to lose you Weiss, you are my world. Without you I don't know what I will be fighting for anymore."

Weiss instantly blushes at this, did Ruby just tell Weiss that she loves her? Or is this just Ruby saying something without thinking again? "W-what do you mean?"

"Weiss, I love you. I care about you so much, and if you were gone I would be losing something that I just couldn't live without." Ruby replies as her cheeks get redder and redder.

Of course Weiss' cheeks are also on fire at this moment as well. Yet she still finds the power to reply "I feel the same about you Ruby. You brought a light and warmth into my frozen dark world that I never knew existed. Without you I would feel alone again, and I never want to return to that."

With her confession down Weiss looks anywhere that isn't Ruby. She had finally said her emotions out loud and it scared her so much, and yet it also made her feel so warm inside. Soon Weiss found that there was a calloused hand on top of hers and her face erupted into an even stronger blush. She didn't never even know someone could blush this hard! Before she could contemplate how hard she truly was blushing, a hand cupped her cheek and her face was turned back towards Ruby.

Their lips touched softly at first and when they did electricity surged through Weiss' body. Ruby was not her first kiss, that had gone to some nobody Atlas elite, but Weiss had never felt a kiss like this before. She wanted more and soon the two were going deeper and deeper into their kiss until they had to part to fill their lungs with that much needed air.

Weiss breathed out "Wow.."

Ruby seconded it "That was amazing.."

They looked at each other in the eyes, both of their cheeks making Ruby's cloak look rather dark now. And yet they both knew something, something that told them this was wrong.

Weiss was the first to say it "We can't do this now can we?"

Ruby responded "I don't think it is the best time with everything going on at the moment."

Weiss just hummed sadly at that, if only they weren't in the middle of a shadow war against a woman that commanded the Grimm. Yet she asked a question "Can we try after the war is over?"

Ruby thought about it for a moment and answered "Yes! But only if you stop getting injured!"

Weiss just chuckled at this "The same goes for you, I don't want you going on some noble crusade where only you can shoulder the responsibility."

Ruby hums in agreement and the two once again stare at the beautiful sight before them.

Weiss awoke the next day with a tear streaming down from her eye. Why she had remembered her happiest memory on her last day she does not know, but it just reminds her that the warm body currently next to her is not the one that she so desperately wanted. "You lied.." she softly murmurs out as she starts to get ready for her last day.

She soon finds out why Winter was the only one that stayed with her when she arrived in the family room of the house. She could see her mother sprawled out on the couch surrounded by both Klein and Qrow in a protective manner. Most likely the two men had been on duty to ensure that her mother did not relapse and drink again last night with the events that had happened. From what Weiss heard it was rather easy to get right back into it if one was not careful and Weiss was happy that her mother had people in her life to help make sure that she would not fall victim to such a fate. Her brother had opted to hide in his room ever since the meal ended yesterday, so Weiss didn't even need to wonder where he was.

Weiss checked the time, it was nine in the morning and she knew that they should leave around ten to make it to the plaza a little early. So she went about waking everyone up and telling them to get ready for the day. She got herself ready and decided that for her last day on Remnant she was going to wear her combat gear from when she first arrived at Beacon all those years ago. Where she met the most clumsy, kind, caring woman in the entire world. Her world truly started that day in that outfit and she was determined that it would end in it as well.

After some more attempts from her family to simply run away were put down the group of six began their travel to the plaza. To Weiss' end. Of the group she was the only one that was fully prepared for it and even looking forward to it. The only question was, would she see that familiar red cloak today? She highly doubts it, she was mostly on the opinion that Ruby will only remain in her memories until the very end. Weiss could only hope that the saying 'Your life flashes before your eyes' when you are about to die is true, then she can see Ruby in her full beauty one more time.

Taking a slow way that had less traffic on it to the plaza made them arrive thirty minutes before noon, thirty minutes before her time was up. Weiss quickly looked around the large gathering of people, her eye catching multiple flashes of red, but none turned out to be the woman that she was looking for. Her heart sank once again, she was hoping to be proven wrong. Hoping that she actually meant something to Ruby still, once again Weiss had made a mistake. So instead she turned back to those that did come with her and bid them goodbye one last time. Many tears were shed and even she shed some. It might not be her rose, but it was still good to have some people truly care about her.

Five minutes until noon she stood on the wooden platform above the trapdoor that will release to allow her body to hang from the noose. Said noose was being firmly tied around her neck, if she wasn't prepared for this then she would have complained about how rough they were being. Those last few minutes were truly the longest of her life as she stared at the clock across from her, watching as the time slowly ticked by. Then noon finally arrived.

Weiss was not paying attention to whatever the judge was saying to the audience, something that she felt was rather odd to see in modern Remnant. People crowding around to see someone die before them, it was rather dark if you asked her. She knew the law was rather old, being from the Great War for war criminals and all. She had seen death before and she knew that she wouldn't be here to see someone else die, maybe it was because it was for the crimes of the SDC, maybe it was for the fact that she was one of the ten, or maybe it was because they were just curious to see something like this. Or it could be all of the above, she didn't know, but what she did know was that the entire plaza was full to the brim.

She felt a slight shift and she knew that the executioner was getting ready with the lever. Her time was nigh and she was ready for it with that Schnee pride that she thought she lost so long ago.

Yet before it all could start Weiss heard a shout of "Wait" above all other noise in the plaza. She knew that voice instantly as the woman that she missed so much. She smelt the roses in the large gush of wind that arrived next to her. The rose petals drifting by her lazily made Weiss' head snap to her side and see the woman that she missed so much standing next to her. Ruby was here for her final moments, it warmed Weiss' heart so much until a new train of thoughts ran through her head. Maybe Ruby was here because she wanted to be the one to pull the lever that ended Weiss' life, and that singular thought caused Weiss' heart to nearly freeze over.

To her bewilderment Ruby instead addressed the crowd "Are you all really okay with this!? Sentencing an innocent person to death for crimes committed by another!" Weiss felt a new fear, Ruby was trying to keep her alive to live the rest of her life knowing that she was wrong. Weiss had taken Ruby's sacrifice away and now it was Ruby's turn. Fear kept bubbling inside of her gut as she noticed the last two of her teammates arrive on the stage, giving her pitiful looks that she could not understand.

Ruby continued on "Her father was the true criminal! She did everything in her power to try to right the wrongs that he committed and this is where it gets her!?"

That is when Yang cuts in "She joined Beacon so that she could escape his influence and restore the SDC to the company it had been under her grandfather! A company that treated all of its workers equally and with great care!"

Blake takes her turn "When she found out that I was a faunus and once part of the white fang she didn't discriminate against me, she didn't turn me in, she just said that it didn't matter and to come to your teammates for help! She has helped so many faunus on her journey and yet she has to pay for a crime that is not her own!?"

A random man from the crowd shouts back "She is the one that chose to represent the SDC for its crimes!"

Ruby gets angry at this and shouts back "Yes, well she is an idiot! The moment Atlas fell is the moment that company no longer existed! The crimes that it held went with its CEO Jacques, not Weiss! Weiss is a caring woman who comes off a little icy, but will put your needs above her own, just like today! So do you truly want to put someone like that to death today, while the true evil is still out there or would you rather stand together and stop this senseless killing!?"

Weiss looked confusedly at the crowd as the many faces within looked to one another to get their answers. Soon the murmur of the crowd started to change into something that started as a slight rumble and rose to a thunderous chant of "Let her live!"

Tears streamed down Weiss' eyes at this, this is not how she wanted it to go. She did not want a knight in shining armor to save her at her last moments, and she certainly didn't want it to be Ruby. She still feared that Ruby was only doing this for revenge, and Weiss only wanted it all to truly end for her. She didn't want to feel the emptiness anymore, the pain from missing her other half that made her feel whole. So she whispered "Why?"

This caused Ruby to look back at her and smile a sad smile and respond "I don't want to lose my world." Weiss could feel as more tears poured from her eyes, Ruby remembered.

Through her sobs she said "Y-you d-dolt, I di-didn't either."

Ruby gave her a full smile and replied "I'm sorry, I almost broke our promise and got mad at you about it." Ruby tenderly lifts the noose off of Weiss' neck and Ruby leans in so her mouth is next to Weiss' ear. She then whispers "I gotta pay you back for the rest of my life."

Weiss could only smile as she whispered back "I would love that."
