Lucy had rolled onto the grass , feeling her body ache from the fall. "Ow, my legs," She growled as she stood up and she shook the leaves, sticks, and pieces of grass out of her red and white fur.
"Oh... ow! Ow, ow," Bolt groaned, limping by a tree. Mittens had climbed up a tree that was in the yard.
"The real world hurts, doesn't it? But You wouldn't know about that, wouldn't you?" Mittens scolded Bolt looked up at her
as she said that .
"Get down here, cat! We don't have time for this," Bolt said strictly, glaring at the cat. "I'll get a ladder," Rhino said, rolling away to fetch a ladder. Lucy and Bolt watch him leave.
Lucy looked back at the white shepherd, figuring it was the right time to give this scatterbrained dog a reality check .
"Now, you listen, Bolt. That crazy hamster
said you're part of a tv show. Do you have any idea what that means? I know there's enough knowledge in that empty brain of yours to know what it means. It's entertainment for humans. It's all fake! It's not real!" Lucy sternly said, lifting her fluffy, curled tail.
Bolt curled lips at this. "That's preposterous!" he spat in disbelief. "She's right, Bolt! Just think about it! Since you got lost, none of your powers are working, are they? You're hungry, you're bleeding. Did you really believe that you were born with a birthmark in the exact shape of a lightning bolt?" Mittens agreed.
Bolt glanced over at his mark, but still didn't want to believe it wasn't fake.
"It's my mark of power, cat," he sternly replied, slowly looking back at her. "It's the mark of a make up artist, dog," Mittens replied, her voice more angered.
"You're ridiculous, now get down here," Bolt said, stomping a paw on the dirt. Mittens tied the leash on a loose part of the branch she sat on and sat back.
"No," was all she said, "Lucy, can you get her down?" Bolt asked the husky. Lucy sat down and turned away. "Nope, you're on your own," She stubbornly said, closing her eyes . "Well , I will super bark her out of that tree," Bolt growled, baring his teeth.
All Mittens did was roll her eyes and laid down on the branch, clearly not amused. "Yeah, go nuts. Let's see how that works out for you," She said.
"Then, you leave me no choice," Boit said , getting into his super bark position . When he did it, nothing happened. Lucy rolled her
eyes and laid down on the dirt, letting out a bored yawn.
"Oh, the super bark. Scary, scary, Yeah, that's really super," Mittens mocked him, rolling her eyes. Bolt's eyes became wide in shock. "It's not true. This is not true!" he exclaimed, squeezing his eyes shut. He tried super barking again, but once again, nothing happened.
Mittens rolled onto her back. "Wow, that felt really super. Wait, no it didn't," Mittens mocked again, further agitating Bolt.
Bolt started to back at the cat. "Okay, okay. Mmm-hmm," the cat nodded, turning over to look down at the barking dog, Lucy listed her head and glared at him, "Would you shut up?!" She growled, standing back up.
She growled at him with her teeth bared, ready to fight him if he so much as pounced. "Seriously, dog, stop! We're not kidding!" Mittens shouted, standing up on the branch.
"Would you cut it out?!" Lucy barked at him, her hackles raised up to a point. To their terror, Lucy and Mittens saw animal control pulling up. 'Oh, please, no...' Lucy thought fearfully, feeling her heart starting to pound.
"Okay! Bolt, you're a superdog! Bolt, be quiet, please!" Mittens shouted, fearfully. But Bolt kept barking, not paying attention to the animal Catcher behind him.
"Bolt, shut up! We need to run!" Lucy shouted, about to push him down to get him to stop barking. However, the dog catcher threw two catching poles to restrain Bolt and Lucy.
"Bolt! Lucy!" Mittens shouted as the two dogs were restrained. Lucy fought to get loose, fearing this human would take her back to the dog fights.
Mittens was grabbed after the dogs were caught and all three were thrown into the animal control's truck. Lucy backed into the furthest corner of her cell, her ears dropped all the way .
