melisvladd: Well this story does take place three months before the Aurelian War would have began.

Here's chapter 37 everybody.
Chapter 37: Adversity.
At Area 95, many civilians were running towards the entrance to the underground shelter as the City Destroyer is slowly approaching the base. Lincoln and Jennifer also noticed a large squadron of alien attackers approaching the base with deadly intentions. The Osean ground troops aim their anti-aircraft guns and SAM defenses at the approaching attackers and fire at them.
"Come on! Come on!" Lincoln said, grabbing Jennifer.
The alien attackers then fire their green pulse laser beams at the base, destroying everything in their path ruthlessly with the civilians running for their lives. They destroy many RVs, military vehicles and the AA defenses. The AA gun crews and SAM positions fired back as much as they could before some were destroyed by the laser beams. Jennifer and Laila approached the entrance before Lincoln yelled at more civilians to move it before he eventually entered the elevator.
Back at the Mothership, Michael was still trying to free the alien attacker with no success.
"Michael! Michael!" Henry said.
Meanwhile, the alien supreme commander sees the attacker budging and emitting sparks at the clamps. The alien taps on a console to check on that particular craft. After a few minutes, the alien clicks on the console, which causes the window's doors to open. Michael sees this.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" Michael asked.
"It's not me. They're overriding the system." Henry said before seeing that the windows are opening. "Oh...shit! Um...hide." Henry said as he and Michael got out of their seats to hide so that the alien supreme commander couldn't see them.
Meanwhile, all the civilians and base personnel arrived at the main underground research facility to take shelter as the massive air battle took place outside. Jakob gathers some people as he can to join him for prayers.
"Everybody hold someone's hand. Hold hands!" Jakob said before seeing Hurley. "Come on in."
Jakob then begins his prayers as Hurley sits down with the others.
"I'm not Christian." Hurley said.
"Nobody's perfect." Jakob said before continuing prayers.
At the same time, Elliot was with Marie and the boy she encounter yesterday,
"God! Where are they?" Elliot asked.
"This could be our last night on Earth. I don't want to die." Marie said.
"If we do, we'll both die together." the boy said before Marie rests her head on his shoulders.
The people continue to take shelter as they hope the fate of the world relies on their ace pilots, who are bravely fighting against the invaders in this final stand.
And that's the end of the chapter. Now comes the one chapter you all have been waiting for. The massive air battle/final battle. Stay tuned and please review. :)
