Adventure City

3 years before the event

A mixed breed pup named Rocky was wandering around an alleyway, searching for food. Unfortunately, he couldn't find any. As he exited the alleyway, he noticed a small shop across the street. Curious, he approached the entrance and peered inside. To his surprise, he saw a variety of food displayed in front of him, along with small plastic bags on a stand near the entrance. He hesitated at first, unsure if he should take the risk. However, the thought of starvation outweighed the potential consequences. Taking a deep breath, he filled a bag with food and quickly tied it shut before sprinting out of the store. The owner gave chase, but Rocky managed to enter another nearby alleyway, where he hid until the coast was clear.

Once he was sure he was safe, he started eating what he grabbed. It wasn't much - just some apples and a few other fruits - but it was enough to prevent him from starving. Once he was done, he got up and walked down the alleyway to the other end. He exited and started walking as far away from that shop as he could. After a few minutes of walking, he noticed a Dalmatian following him. He had seen that same Dalmatian at the shop just walking around. Rocky walked into another alleyway, hoping to lose him, but the Dalmatian just followed him slowly. Rocky reached the end of the alleyway, but it wasn't an exit; it was just a dead end. He turned around and saw the Dalmatian put on a black-and-white cow mask. Rocky recognized him now from the news; he was a member of the PAW Patrol..

The Dalmatian looked at the mixed breed and noticed the fear in his eyes. "Hey, hey, calm down. I'm not here to hurt you." The Dalmatian said, trying to comfort him.

Rocky looked a little less scared but he was still cautious. "W-Who are you?" Rocky asked.

"I'm Marshall, my leader told me to come get you and bring you to him, please just make this easy and follow me." Marshall responded.

He waved toward the mixed breed, signalling him to follow. Rocky followed him not wanting to know what'd happen if he refused. Marshall took off his mask before they left the alleyway and started leading Rocky to a certain location.

30 Minutes later.

Ryder's Apartment

Marshall opened an apartment door and let Rocky in. As he entered, he saw a Cockapoo and a German Shepherd sitting at a table talking to each other. They both looked over at him as he entered, and the German Shepherd called out to someone in another room.

"Ryder sir, Marshall returned with the pup you requested." The Shepherd said.

Rocky saw someone walk out of a room with Ryder written on it. The person saw him and walked over towards him, He kneeled down in front of him and started talking to him.

"Hey Rocky." Ryder said to the mixed breed.

"Hey... wait, how do you know my name?" Rocky asked, surprised.

"Don't worry about that. Rocky, I've seen what you're capable of and I've researched your past." Ryder said to the pup.

"Researched? Researched what? I don't have a job, I don't even have a home, what could you have possibly found about me?" Rocky questioned.

"Well, with your... history of crime." Ryder said, referring to his constant robbery for food to survive. "You have quite a record on the ACPD database." Ryder told him.

"I'm not a bad guy i swear, I'm just doing it to survive." Rocky replied.

"I know Rocky, but the ACPD doesn't care about why you're doing it, They're not gonna try to help you. That's why i want to invite you to join the PAW Patrol." Ryder said to the pup.

"I-I...What? Really?" Rocky responded, surprised.

"Yeah. So, What is your choice?" Ryder asked him, Rocky looked past him and saw the German Shepherd staring at him.

"Will I still have to steal food and fight for myself to survive?" Rocky asked.

"Nope, we'll supply you with food, you can even move in if you want." Ryder replied. Rocky thought about it for awhile before making a decision.

"A-Alright, I'm in." Rocky said. Ryder grabbed a blank white mask and led Rocky into a room at the back of the apartment; it had a bunch of shelves in it, with multiple different items on them. Ryder threw the mask onto an empty table in the room and grabbed some paint from a nearby shelf, then placed them both on the table.

"Here you go Rocky." Ryder said to him.

"What do i do with this?" Rocky asked him.

"Design your mask, make it your own. This mask is what people will see; it'll represent you." Ryder told him before leaving the room. Rocky looked over at the paint and grabbed three colors: Green, Orange, and Grey.
