Chapter 5: When a maniac has your face…?!

I tensed my body and energy I've never really felt coursed through my veins. I knew people I had interacted with when I was a part of Rocky…I now have thoughts and feelings, but above it all was this strong intense desire for evil, making fires, dynamite…chaos, destruction and explosions were also in it, too.

This was the first feeling I'd ever had, and my first dream for it to come true…except, this dream could happen.

Mordecai burst into the room, exclaiming, "Introducing Rocky 2.0!" I was disgusted, while Rocky looked like I came out his nightmare. Who wants to have a name of their once-was? "I need a new, better name." I told Mordecai.

"Y-you…"

I turned to my former self. He still looked freaked-out.

"Who are you?!" He managed to say.

"A better you, is what I would say, but it's not a name. Can you think of one?"

I flashed him a creepy, wild grin. I didn't know if he could do it, but I was enjoying his creepied-out face. "I don't know a name for a guy who acts like a maniac." He responded.

I grinned even larger. That was it! "That's my name. My name…is Maniac!" I said.

"Can we blow things up? It's quite boring in here, don't you think?" I asked Rocky. He still looked terrified of me. "What's the problem? Never seen a smile before?" I teased, drawing nearer.

We were now face-to-face. "I just want to thank you for touching that mirror. Even though I was part of you, the power that it used to give me life…it was incredible." I told him-personally.

His eyes gave the slightest narrow. "That mirror took life out of me to give it to you. I don't know which position is worse: Afraid to go back to Lackadaisy ashamed, or lifeless without a smile or laugh of happiness." His voice shook with emotion.

"Ouch. Kid, you would have better off in office just sitting there than speaking to a big crowd." I said. He grunted, looking the slighted irritated. "Yeah…thanks, I guess."

"This guy can't even take a joke!" I thought.

Mordecai broke our conversation. "Ahem. We Marigolds have a date planned with Lackadaisy that involves guns, knives, oh, and explosives. You up for it, Maniac?" That grabbed my attention. "Oh yeah. You bet I'll be there!" I said to him, excitement in my veins. I turned to go with him.

"Wait!" Rocky stood up. "I-I thought you were part of me! You'll be attacking Mizzi! Victor! Ivy and Freckle and everyone else! Don't you care?! Don't you remember?! I was friends with them! I'm good! What about you?"

I turned to chuckle at him. He was making such an effort to make me change to a side I wasn't even made for. "I don't think you understand. This part of you LIVES for chaos and destruction. I don't care about friends. You do, but I only care about myself. You do remember the pig farmer "accident", don't you?" I asked, knowing he would emotionally deal with that and stop bothering me.

Regret flashed in his eyes. "But if you'll excuse me," I said, walking to the door, "I'll be going now." Rocky's eyes widened, and he made a beeline for me.

"No!" He yelled.

Kinda pathetic if you ask me. I gave him one final grin, then slammed the door in his face for good measure. I chuckled. The Marigolds outside were planning to hitch a ride, but I remembered something and walked right in on their conversation.

"I have a more suitable idea instead."

"Oh yeah? What's that?" Nico demanded.

"Near the horizon. Parked on a small hill. Ladies and gentlemen, it's your free car! (Definitely no robbing or stealing going on here.)" I announced in a game-show voice, pointing to the car Rocky left.

All of the Marigold's eyes lit up at the sight of it. We walked to it and got in. Nico and Mordecai took the back, and Serfine with me in the front. "What's this?" I looked back to see Mordecai pick up a small cactus in a flowerpot with a face. "That's…oh. That's cactus friend. You do not want to know how creepy that thing is." I told him, and started the car.

"Well, now. Don't you have some taste?" Serfine purred. I tried not to act uncomfortable around her. "Did she just now develop a crush on me?!" My thoughts screamed. Oh, well. What do I have to lose?

I liked this villain stuff. Rocky wasn't going to pry me back over my dead body. I grinned and hit the gas. I laughed like crazy. Yep, I was definitely Rocky's dark side compared to the rest of him.
