Day 9
Luna had her hand on the gun, Lana was ready to lunge, and I was afraid. With dripping blood, Missus Coconuts stood in front of us, cackling. "Relax, I'm not going to kill you... But we'll have lots of fun!" Luan yelled before running to the backroom. I grabbed one of the guns and ran after her. She was opening the box we kept mom and Lisa in when I got there. I aimed the gun at her as she opened it up. "We'll make good dummies out of them honey!" Mister Coconuts laughed. The box was open, the stench was rife. I can't shoot her, I'm sorry. Slowly I walk up to her, and I kicked her in. She fell in the crate, her legs dangling out. I didn't care. I slammed the box shut. I could hear her screaming as I pushed the lid, forcing it to close. Her legs were starting to bleed from the force, but I don't care. I have no time for crazies. I opened it, and I slammed it again. Again. Again. Again. Again. AGAIN. Finally, she pulled her legs in. I clicked the latch shut, and I sat on it. The box shook and shook. I guess I broke it because I could hear her voice, it was supposed to be air tight. She struggled and struggled, screaming bloody murder as I struggle to keep it down. Lana rushed in, she saw what was happening, I thought that she wanted to stop me. No, she climbed up and sat on it with me. "LET ME OUT OF HERE!" She screamed. She wasn't our sister anymore. She was feral. She was gone. As her voice grew louder, we heard Lily crying. Her crying got louder and louder, and we saw Luna carrying her in one arm with Lola behind her looking at us.
"Guys?" Luna asked, I could see the tiredness in her shaking leg, the fear in her voice, the sadness in her eyes, but she stood tall.
"Is Luan in there?" Lola asked. I could see the redness of her eyes bulging.
"She's not Luan anymore," Lana said before jumping off the crate. "Let her tire herself out, we'll know what to do after that," Lana said as she went back to the common room.
I got off the crate, and left the backroom. Luna and Lola followed after. When I got to the common room, I saw that Lynn wasn't sitting at the pole anymore. I looked around and I saw her on her cot. I can't blame her. I can't blame anyone. We're all slowly losing our minds.
"Lincoln," I heard Lucy called for me from the vent entrance.
"Hey Luce, you alright?" I asked her.
"Luan is dangerous." She asked. "What should we do?"
"I don't know." I told her before lying down on the mattresses we laid on the floor. I looked at the ceiling and I saw the grey lifeless stomach of the bunker. It wasn't nice, it smells, and it is slowly breaking down. I just stared at it. Staring and staring, hoping that I get another revelation from the Gods. I have to survive. I will survive.
Day 10
I woke up with a headache from hell. I didn't move from the spot I laid on. I sat up. Luna, Lola, Lana, and Lily were huddled up together, sleeping. I could see the dried tears in their eyes. The fatigue in their faces, the sorrow, how does it manifest really? I couldn't give more care about the philosophical things surrounding feelings anymore, I just want to do the good I should have done. I stood up, and I stretched. The headache was still there. What time is it? I looked at my watch, 2 AM. Maybe water would help. I walked to the backroom, and there I saw Lynn and Lucy standing in front of the box we trapped Luan and kept mom and Lisa in. Lynn had one of the guns in her hand, and Lucy was holding a kitchen knife.
I was about to say something when Lynn fired all of the rounds in the gun at the box. She threw that gun to the floor and took out another one, and with that one too she fired all the rounds at the box. I couldn't speak. Just as I fall to the ground, Lana came running with Luna following behind her. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!" Luna yelled.
Lynn didn't say anything, she unlocked the latches on the box and she opened the lid. She turned around and she smiled.
"I did the world a favor," Lynn said. Just as Luna was about to say something, Lynn's hair was pulled into the box. I froze. Luan was still alive.
"I GUESS THE LEAD WASN'T ENOUGH TO MAKE ME DEAD!" She screamed before biting into Lynn's neck hard. Luna rushed to them, grabbing one of the guns. Frantically, she loaded it.
"LUAN STOP!" Luna yelled. Luan didn't stop, she just bit harder. Lynn didn't struggle, it was as if she had accepted her fate. "I TOLD YOU TO FUCKING STOP!" Luna bashed the gun into Luan's face, making Luan much more enraged.
"It's no use, we're all gonna die..." Lynn gasped as Luan stabbed her in the back with a bone.
"I'm sorry," Luna said, before putting a bullet through Luan's skull.
One second they were struggling, and the next was just silence. Luan's body falls back inside the box. 8 bullets in her body. Lynn laid there, bleeding from her neck. Luna didn't know what to do. Her face was of shock. "What have I done?" She cried. "Lincoln help," She looked at me. I rushed to her and sat her down. I put her crutches beside her. Lynn looked at us. Her face smiling. Lucy didn't budge.
"What're you waiting for? Shoot me," Lynn gasped for air. Lucy saw the blood. Lana went to Lynn and she applied pressure on her wound, but Lynn didn't appreciate that, so she pushed her to the ground.
"LYNN YOU'RE BLEEDING!" Lana shouted as she got back up.
"FUCK OFF LANA, JUST LET ME DIE!" Lynn yelled.
Lana didn't care, she just went straight back.
"... Why did you try to kill Luan?" I asked. I don't know what kind of face I made, but I assume it was the same as Luna's.
"Why? She's-" Lynn couldn't finish her words. Luna shot her. Ending her life.
I jumped back.
I saw the look on Luna's face turn from shock and confusion turn to emptiness. She broke. She finally broke. I looked at Lana, Lynn's blood splattered on her face. Luna didn't say anything. She aimed the gun up in the air and fired the rest of the bullets inside before putting it down.
"Luna?"
"Lincoln get back!" Lana pulled me.
"What happened to us?" Luna asked as she stared at the two dead people she killed. Tears rolled down her eyes.
6 of us left. Just 6. We made the number become 6.
"What have I done?" Luna cried.
Lucy dropped her knife and got away. Leaving the backroom and into the vents.
Broken. That was us.
Luna slid her hand inside her hoodie pocket and took out the bullets. 4 left. She looked at us, and she looked at the gun. She cried.
