Chapter 38!
More Saiko x Izumi but a new idea. I'll still be continuing the other one but more of this pair never hurts. Saiko is of course a 2nd year at Seiai and this Izumi also goes there but is a 1st year.
Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Universe
*Saiko POV*
Things didn't always goes as you wanted.
Discreetly eyeing the taller girl across from her, Saiko took in the other student's barely concentrated expression as she scribbled away at some worksheets. The girl may have been one year her junior but she could have easily been mistaken as the older of the two with her 200cm height and ample show of musculature that had nothing to do with her quirk. Saiko had offered to tutor her junior and that had been the start of their now companionship and she would have mused more but a groan left the 1st year student while she herself put down her own book and tapped a pencil against the desk.
"Focus, Midoriya," Saiko reprimanded for what she knew would not be the last time. "You'll fail your make up test at this rate," she stated but her tutee grumbled while a look of annoyance drew across her face.
"Let's at least take a snack break," Midoriya complained, clearly not interested in ever getting back to her papers, and Saiko shook her head negatively.
"In a moment," the older student answered, trying to coerce just a bit more effort out of her junior, "I realize studying bores you but bear with it please."
"Ehh...Okay," the greenette complied but she barely even began scribbling before she was distracted once more. "I brought some stuff that goes good with tea though," she grinned, pulling out a bag of rice crackers that she liked as well, though Saiko leveled a stern eye at her.
"Answers, Midoriya," she sighed, hoping that even some progress would be made, yet Midoriya only scratched a few more things with her pencil and set her worksheets aside.
"You're bossy senpai," she said bluntly with a laugh while Saiko took the papers and glanced them over.
"I would not appear so if you would take your studies more seriously," she replied sharply, irked by the other student's carefree nature, but Midoriya was already out of her chair.
"Tea's ready!" the green haired giant relayed with a beam as Saiko circled the many incorrect and blank answers.
"Don't skip out halfway through," she scolded despite still receiving the tea being placed beside her.
"But it's no good if it goes cold," Midoriya stated obviously, taking her seat again and opening the bag of rice crackers before taking a few of them out and standing them on their side to roll over to Saiko, to which the older girl held back a yell.
"This is work time, Midoriya!" she admonished, managing to half dial down her frustrations. "Don't play with the snacks either!" Saiko ordered, swiping up the food that Midoriya was rolling over before trying to recompose herself.
"Loosen up," the greenette shrugged in amusement and Saiko held her annoyance despite the laugh that followed her reaction.
Saiko must have been the biggest fool out there. Of all of them, of every possible person in the world, she just had to fall for the one moron who would never look her way. To think that the person who made her heart flutter also made her head ache and acted like the biggest ball of innocent menace that ever graced her life. The greenette was so unlike anyone that Saiko had ever met, so unlike Saiko herself, yet she couldn't help her strange feelings of admiration and budding affection.
Midoriya was an ungrateful, selfish, muscle head of a girl who was loud in everything she did. A girl from who knew where with her tales of fighting bears over fish in her junior high days and getting a scar beside her eye from headbutting a boar unconscious when she was 6. Her fists could reduce boulders to dust, her anger could freeze anyone in their tracks, and she always managed to poke fun at Saiko by guessing exactly what she was going to say. She was a girl who ran through life like a storm with her boisterous and rude attitude.
Yet she was also a girl who was so loyal and fearless. One whose wide smile said that nothing could go wrong when she was there and her loud obnoxious laugh tickled Saiko's heart. She was an exuberant girl comparable to a mini sun that Saiko could only hopelessly orbit. Someone she could rely on, someone who so easily got through her defenses, and someone she fancied but knew she could never have. A person who cut right to the heart of things and whose emotions ruled her life. An amazing anomaly that somehow existed in this world.
It was laughable really, to think that her first love would be so comically doomed to fail from the start.
Saiko was in love with the girl who was too free to stay.
Notes and Stuff
I needed more Saiko.
Izumi is 200cm/6'5" and is based off of Garp with all three forms of Haki as her quirk. Her quirk is called 'Will' and considering that Garp is who I'm basing her on then she's OP. Since this is a different world than One Piece and she's younger, Izumi also has a touch of Luffy mixed in to get a bit of a 'younger' more free Garp since we don't have much from his youth and he and Luffy are similar.
While I could still turn this into a full fic, a Garp Izumi would be less restrained than my other One Piece Izumis while being just as incredibly busted so there wasn't much action or introspection I could do specifically for her and it would always end up focusing on someone else's perspective.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
