Busara is Janja and Jasiri's daughter, sister to Kenzie and to Mrembo, and third in command of the Wildlife Guard, and leader of her hyena clan. She bears her mother's appearance but her mane is sand-colored.
She's fearless, smart and she always finds a solution to the problems. She acts like and has a close relationship with her mother. She also speaks with a hint of an Australian accent. Busara is very careful and cautious around strangers and doesn't take sudden offers of friendship very lightly.
Busara is one of Leah's best friends and the two have been friends since childhood. When Leah reveals she wants to build her own Lion Guard, Busara is impressed by Leah's ferocity in her duties, coming up with the name Fire Pride. Busara accepted a mashindano request from Koshi, the jackal to be the new second in command, but lost the duel. Regardless, Leah made Busara the third in command.
