-Alison's POV-

I looked down at Binx, the poor cat looked terrible. His fur was tangled and he looked like he had not been sleeping well. He may have the body of a cat, but his soul is still human. I looked worridly at Max. Whatever it was, it was really effecting Binx, and not in a good way. I looked down to see that Binx ended up falling asleep. I slowly put Binx on the bed next to Dani as I continued to pet the sleeping cats head. "What do you think Binx is hiding?" I asked quietly, careful to keep my voice down so I wouldn't wake Binx up.

Aged a few moments of silence, Max spoke up. "I'm not sure, Alison. I just hope he will tell us soon." As he was talking, he went over to a desk and grabbed a brush witch he handed to me. I then began to brush Binx's tangled fur. The cat started to pur as I continued combing him.

"Well we might get him to tell us in the morning. It's getting pretty late: we should all get to bed." I said as I looked from Dani, to Max, and to the still sleeping Binx.

"Poor Binx. He looks so exausted, I hope he's willing to tell us what's wrong." I heard Dani wisper quietly to us as we all got ready for bed.

Max and I were the first ones awake. It was still really early in the morning, I looked to see that Binx was gone. I slowly stood up from the bed as I quiatly called for the cat. I turned to Max as I whispered.

"Max, I can't find Binx anywhere. Do you think he snuck out last night?" I asked Max worriedly as I looked out the window.

Max thought for a moment before he answered. "It's possible, I mean, remember when we first met him and he showed us those two gravestones? One of them beeing his sister's. He probably went there. But I could be wrong." I nodded my head at that. I was about to say something more but the sound of a door quiatly opening caught our attention. It was Binx.

"Where did you run off to, Binx?" I whispered so that I wouldn't wake up Dani or Max's parents. The black cat visably tensed as he looked up at both Max and I with fear? Or was it gilt? I took a small step closer to Binx.

"I-I don't want to talk about it. What else do you want me to say?" Binx whispered as he looked about ready to bolt and run.

I gave a tired sigh as I spoke up once more. "Binx, please tell us: we just want to help you." I said as the cat's ears lowered and he looked down at his paws.

"I don't want to talk about it. Please just leave me alone." Binx said wearily as he looked up at Max and I with watery eyes. Tears were now running down his face and wetting his fur. I just let it go for the time being as Binx curled up next to Dani on the teenager's bed.

-Binx's POV-

I was awoken by Dani later that afternoon. I had not slept the night before, but Dani didn't need to know that. "Are you okay, Binx?" Dani asked me as I slowly ate my food. I knew I had to tell the truth because if I didn't, Dani would start questioning me again. I then spoke up quietly after a few moments of silence.

"Well to be honest, I haven't really been sleeping lately." I said as I lowered my ears and Dani frowned worriedly down at me before speaking up once more.

"Are you telling me the whole truth, Binx?" Dani asked me and I just gave the girl a tired smile and sighed softly before replying.

"Yes, yes I am, Dani." I told her truthfully as I dunked my head into the water bowl. "That was cold!" I grumbled to myself once I had shook the water droplets from my eyes.

Dani just gave me a weird look in response. "Uh, Binx? Why did you do that?" Dani asked me, giggling slightly to herself at the sight of my wet fur and folded ears. I hissed lowly and shook myself dry, cursing lowly under my breath as I did so.

I covered a yawn with a paw as I answered, her question a few seconds later. "To keep myself awake. It wasn't really pleasant though. But hey! At least It will keep me awake." I said with a hint of amusement in my tone as I spoke. I licked my paws to get them dry while Dani just watched me while gigging quietly to herself.

After a few more moments of awkward silence, she picked me up and gave me a tight hug. I purred on instinct as Dani kissed the top of my head.

"I love you, Binx." She whispered into my fur. I looked up at her with loving eyes as I licked Dani's face affectionately.

"I love you too, Dani." I whispered quietly. Dani blushed a deep red at that before putting me onto the bed.

"Are you hungry, Binx?" Dani asked me and I nodded my head in response to her question. Dani picked me up and went downstairs to look for some food.

"Here, eat this. It's sweet." Dani said with a mischievous smirk forming on her face. I sniffed the food, felling a little skeptical of the smell drifting in the air. But after another minute of staring at it, I bent my head forward and hesitantly took a bite of the sweet-smelling treat.

"uh, hey, Dani? What was thou stange food you just gave to thee?" I asked the girl after I had swallowed the sweet. She just laughed quietly in response and replied back with a loving smile.

"Silly Binx. It was a peace of cake." She told me simply while giving me a funny look. I just blinked slowly up at her before laughing softly to myself.

"How art thou doing this morning, Dani?" I asked her with a small tilt of my head. Dani just blinked confused at my weird choice of wording the question.

"Uh, Binx? Don't you mean how are you doing?" she asked me and I shook my head.

She just gave a shrug and replied after a few moments of awkward silence. "I'm good. How are you doing, Binx?" she asked me with a small smile.

I thought for a moment before I answered. "I'm better, for the most part." I replied after a moment of hesitation before licking my paws and jumping on top of the kitchen counter to be more eye-leval with the girl.

It was silent for a while before Dani spoke up in an attempt to break it. "So...what do you want to do today, Binx?" I tilted my head to the side in thought as I pondered how to answer Dani's question.

"I'm not really sure," I eventually replied, curling my tail over my back paws as I looked up at Dani. "Don't you have homework? Or did you do that already?" I asked her curiously, sounding a bit like the girl's mother as I asked her about her schoolwork.

Dani laughed and flicked one of my ears with a finger. "I already did it. But thanks for checking, Binx." She told me with a teasing grin forming on her face as she spoke. I chuckled softly and turned my gaze to the window as I watched a bird fly past.
