Hello again, I am back, with a brand new story, it's been so long since I last published anything, but here I am, and here's the first chapter of the story.
Rainbow Dash arrived back home, bored out of her mind, it may be the start of summer break, but she was already bored, nothing to do, she laid down on the couch, and switched on the TV.
She got to her favorite program, and she chilled on the couch, however, halfway through the program, commercials appeared, one advertising a shampoo product, another being a trailer for an upcoming film, an Anti Drug PSA, and other common commercials she listens to on a daily basis.
However, it wasn't until one commercial caught her eye, it looked like they were advertising a gameshow.
" Do you feel brave enough, strong enough, and smart enough to take on a fortress filled with danger, filled with terror, filled with gold...", said the announcer.
" Gold", said Rainbow Dash.
"...Then register now for a chance to claim the legendary treasure, and conquer Fort Boyard", said the announcer.
Rainbow Dash got onto her computer, and looked up Fort Boyard, and discovers, it's an adventure gameshow, where a group of contestants work together to conquer a giant fortress in the middle of the ocean, and claim a large fortune.
She searched through the applications, for her country is being invited to take on the fort, maybe she could give the game a go.
After looking, she notices that each team must have seven people.
" Well, looks like it's time to get the gang back together, we can go on an adventure that doesn't involve Equestrian Magic", said Rainbow Dash.
The next day Rainbow Dash met up with her friends at Sugarcube corner.
" You said you wanted us to meet up Yesterday Rainbow, what's up", said Sunset.
" Have any of you guys been watching TV Yesterday", said Rainbow Dash.
" I have", said Pinkie Pie.
" Did any of you see that new commercial, about a gameshow coming to Equestria, what was it again, Fort something", said Rainbow Dash.
" Fort Boyard", said Twilight.
" Yeah that", said Rainbow Dash.
" It's a game show taking place in a fortress in the ocean, outside of the coast of Prance", said Twilight.
" I went to Prance last year while on Vacation, and while in a hotel, I watched some of it on the TV, the things these contestants have to do, it's like watching fear factor", said Rarity.
" The application says each team will have seven players, and there are seven of us", said Rainbow Dash.
" Are suggesting what I think you're suggesting", said Applejack.
" That we take on the fort ourselves yes", said Rainbow Dash.
" I don't know, it is in Prance by the way", said Applejack.
" If you're talking the cost of transport, that fine, in the application it says all travel expenses, and hotel expenses will be paid", said Rainbow Dash.
" Well, I enjoyed my last vacation there, who am I to turn down a free trip back", said Rarity.
" Plus I'm sure it's going to a lot of fun, I'm also in", said Pinkie Pie.
" Okay then, that's three, what about the rest of you", said Rainbow Dash.
" I have been working hard all week, Granny Smith tells me I deserve a break, you know what, I'll do it, I'm in as well", said Applejack.
Sunset, Twilight and Fluttershy also agreed.
Twilight then took out her laptop, and being showed the site, being filling in the details.
" Team name, do we just use our usual name the Rainbooms", said Twilight.
" Might as well", said Rainbow Dash.
" Okay then, Rainbooms, contestants, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie", said Twilight, typing in the names.
After finishing the application, Twilight turned to the others.
" Now we wait, hopefully we'll get notified that we've been picked, I reckon thousands of others have applied to be on the show as well", said Twilight.
A few days later, Twilight contacted everyone through a face cam.
" What's up", said Sunset.
" I got a response regarding our application to take on Fort Boyard, we've been accepted", said Twilight.
" Alright", cheered Rainbow Dash.
" In a couple of weeks we'll be flown to Prance, free of charge, that should give us enough time to make any adjustments we've made", said Twilight.
" I'm not doing anything then", said Rainbow.
" I'll be able to finish my work before then, I just need to make sure I don't schedule anymore until I get back", said Rarity.
" And I'll see if I can get Treehugger to look after the Animal Shelter", said Fluttershy.
" Okay, we are to be at the airport next Tuesday at 8:00 AM", said Twilight.
Over the next couple of weeks, the girls got ready, and when they met at the airport, they boarded the plane, and it took off.
Twilight was sitting on one of the seats, looking out the window, when Sunset approached her.
" I hope we meet Cadence as well, she said she was going to be there to visit Celestia and Luna", said Twilight.
" Hang on, Celestia and Luna are in Prance too, vacation", asked Sunset.
" Not exactly, when I visited Cadance just after summer break started, she told me they were going there to volunteer on something, I can't exactly remember the basics", said Twilight.
" It might be something work related", said Sunset
After a long flight, the girls were taken to their hotel, after resting for a bit, due to jet lag, they met up at a dining area.
" Amazing, relaxing, even though it's a year since I last came here, it feels like I have never left", said Rarity.
" I was hoping we would stay a bit longer, maybe even see the louvre, and the Eifel Tower", said Fluttershy.
" I'm sure we enough time to see all those things tomorrow, as for Fort Boyard, we'll be picked up on Thursday 8:30 AM, to be taken to the coast, where we'll be sent across the ocean via boat", said Twilight.
" I thought it was via helicopter", said Pinkie Pie.
" There is a way to enter by helicopter", said Twilight.
" There's something else I was curious about, the prize, what exactly is it", said Pinkie Pie.
" I never actually gave it much thought", said Rainbow Dash.
" It depends on how well we do in the game, we could win thousands, or even a hundred thousand", said Twilight.
" A hundred thousand what", said Rarity.
" Dollars", said Twilight, much to Rarity's excitement.
" Each", said Rarity.
" Uh no, to allocate equally between the seven of us", said Twilight.
" But, a hundred thousand dollars, divided by seven, that's over fourteen thousand dollars each", said Rarity.
" That sounds like enough", said Twilight.
It was now Thursday, 7:00 AM, the alarm clock on Twilight's phone went off, and she switched it off.
She groaned as she got out of bed, Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack woke up as well.
" Well this is it", said Rarity.
" Where are Pinkie, Rainbow, and Sunset", said Fluttershy.
" Still in bed of course", said Applejack.
" We better get them up, or we won't have enough time to get breakfast", said Twilight.
" I know how to get Pinkie up", said Applejack.
She then approached Pinkie Pie's bed, and then let out a fake groan.
" Oh boy, those chocolate chip muffins were so filling", Applejack said.
" Muffins", Pinkie Pie said, instantly lifting her head up, and a second later, dashed off her bed, and out the door in a pink blur.
" That's one problem solved, but now once we get the other two up we'll need to go down to the buffet room and get Pinkie, there's really chocolate muffins down there", said Applejack.
An hour and a half went by, and after having breakfast, the girls began to get ready, each of them were given sport clothing to wear while in the fort, sleeveless tank tops with knee high shorts and the tank tops have the Forty Boyard Logo on it, each with a different color.
One by one, the girls went into the bathroom, got changed out of their regular clothes, and into the sports clothes.
Applejack walked out in her matching lime green tank top and shorts, twirling her Stetson around before placing it on her head.
Fluttershy walked out next, nervously, while wearing a matching colored teal shirt and shorts.
Rarity strutted out seductively like she was on a catwalk, wearing a matching colored purple shirt and shorts that matched her hair.
Sunset walked out afterwards, wearing a matching colored black shirt and shorts.
Pinkie Pie bounced happily out, wearing a matching light blue shirt and shorts.
Twilight was the second to last to walk out, also wearing blue attire like Pinkie Pie, only it's a darker blue, and it's also matching both shirt and shorts.
And finally, Rainbow Dash walked out, wearing a matching red shirt and shorts, shrugging her shoulders like a boxer.
" Alright, everyone's ready, let's get going", said Rainbow Dash.
" Hang on a second, before we go, there's one last thing I want everyone to do", said Twilight, holding out a small bag.
" I want everyone to hand over their geodes", said Twilight.
" Aww, really", groaned Rainbow Dash.
" Yes really, if we're going to win this, we're going to do so fairly, without unfair advantages", said Twilight.
Rainbow Dash sighed as she gave Twilight her geode, one by one, everyone else did the same.
" We're going to be out all day, what if something happens, like another dark magic incident, and we don't have our geodes", said Rainbow Dash.
" We can go for a day without them, besides the rules of the game say we can't bring necklaces with us, some sort of safety regulation", said Twilight.
After they were ready, the girls waited by the lobby, and after being escorted to the coast, they got onto a boat, and put on some coats.
The girls were then seated as the boat took off, Twilight then turned to the others.
" This box must be for us to store our valuables in, also our shoes, luckily we've been giving these waterproof shoes", said Twilight.
After some journey, the girls arrived.
" Look at that", said Pinkie Pie.
" There it is", said Rainbow Dash.
" It's amazing", said Rarity.
And so it was, a large stone fortress in the middle of the ocean, on top of it is a tower.
" Hundreds of years old, and still looking amazing", said Twilight.
Meanwhile, inside the fort, inside a dark lair, was a man, grey haired and grey beard, he looked into the screen as the seven girls arrived at the fortress, his name is Father Fouras, master of the fort.
" Seven brave adventures have arrived at my fort, and they think they can steal my treasure, try as they might, but they'll never get it so easily, each of them will be subjected to challenges, challenges to test them physically and mentally, if they prove themselves that they are strong, brave, fast, and smart, then they might be able to receive my treasure", said Fouras.
The group stood around a small balcony in the middle of the fort, an man in his late forties, and a dwarf stood in front of them.
" Good morning, and welcome to Fort Boyard, I'm Antoine, and I'm your host, and this is Passepartout", said the man, introducing himself and the dwarf in respective order.
" Your objective is to get hold of the treasure kept in the fort, the gold is stashed inside that treasure chamber, guarded by tigers", said Antoine, pointing at the bottom floor, where a large chamber laid, almost looking like a tiger's habitat in a zoo.
" However, before you can get the gold, there are three quests you'll need to first, the first task is getting the keys, the chamber is locked, so you'll need nine keys in which to open it, you can do this, by solving the riddles and challenges", said Antoine.
" I take it another quest will involve keeping the tigers from attacking us", said Applejack.
" No need to worry about them, once the chamber is opened, the tigers will be kept in cages", said Antoine, he then holds out a handful of tokens.
" I have here 14 tokens, split them among the seven of you, that's two each, these tokens will grant you access to the challenges, but you only have enough to play 14 challenges, this includes the challenges set in these rooms around the fort, or by solving the riddles up in that tower", said Antoine, pointing at the old watch tower at the top of the fort.
It was then two familiar boys arrived standing next to Antoine.
" What are you two doing here", said Rainbow Dash.
" Ah, these two, Snips and Snails, will be helping out in the fort", said Antoine.
" After seeing on the site they were looking for volunteers, we applied, at least we get a free trip, and a look inside this giant fortress", said Snips.
" Our master told us to give you these", said Snails, giving Antoine two scrolls.
" Master", questioned Rarity.
" He means Father Fouras, he rules the fort, and it's his gold you're all trying to grab", said Antoine, accepting the scrolls, and opened the first one.
" The first challenge is in fact a riddle, who's the brains of the group", said Antoine.
" I am", said Twilight.
" Very well, this challenge is for you, there is someone up there, who for a price of a token, can give you a riddle, answer it correctly, and you'll win a key", said Antoine.
And so, Twilight followed Snails as she made her way to the tower.
" Now, not to worry, if she fails to get the riddle right, you can still get the key, but at the price of another token, but we'll cross that bridge if we get to it", said Antoine.
" In a few hours from now it will be noon, hopefully by then all the tokens will be used up, and hopefully you'll have the nine keys needed for the treasure chamber", said Antoine.
" What type of challenge will we be facing", said Rarity.
" For this stage mostly physical challenges, anyway, you're friend is on her way to the watch tower for the first challenge, and so, the journey to Fort Boyard has officially begun", said Antoine.
As he said that, a tall muscular masked man approached a gong, and with a large stick, slammed it onto the gong, signaling the start of the adventure.
And the journey has begun, this first was just the beginning, the calm before the storm, the real deal is in the next chapter, and it will be up soon, until then that's all for now.
