Chapter 20 Causing Trouble
Ponyville
If one had to complain that the ride was bumpy for the students that would be a lie, however one has to declare that Discord had something in stored for the Hogwarts students. The teachers arrived right at the entrance of the School of Friendship without trouble and were greeted by Starlight.
"Greetings and welcome to Ponyville, dear professors. My name is Starlight Glimmer deputy headmistress of the school." Starlight started coming before them.
"Greetings." McGonagall started bowing her head a bit to indicate greetings before Fluttershy looked around for the students.
"Excuse us but where are the students?" Fluttershy asked.
"We were wondering the same thing to be honest." Snape drawled already guessing what had happened.
"I found a group of them." Pinkie called as she pointed to the hufflepuffs who were sent literally in the school's garden on the snow covered plants.
"What are you doing there?" Professor Sprout asked.
"It wasn't our fault professor we swear." Called Susan Bones.
"The others aren't that better." Ernie said before Discord appeared.
"Oops, sorry I believe my mind had slipped a bit when doing the portals." He said although he did that on purpose.
"Discord where are the other students?!" Trixie demanded.
"It's OK they are fine, the Ravenclaws are over there." Discord said as he pointed to the frozen river where the Ravenclaw students were skiing on the ice or trying to stay still on the ice or even trying to get to the shore.
"Ooh and the lions are also there, I believe they aren't so much for cold as others might be." Discord said referring to the Gryffindors who were now struggling to get out of the snow that was reaching to their abdomens.
"That draqoniqus is really a public menace." Ron said trying to literally swim out of the snow.
"Obvious from the first meeting." Harry added as he tried to move out and help the others out of the snow, while some ponies were there trying to give them a helping hand/hoof.
"Seriously Discord." Applejack commented as she went to full gallop with a lasso to throw it to where the Ravenclaws were before tying it to a nearby fence.
"Catch my lasso to get off the ice." Applejack called as the students complied knowing to be their only way out before the ice could break as they now moved to the shore one by one some even slide to the shore.
"Well they are getting back to their feet." Discord started trying to make the ones around laugh but to no avail.
"Can I ask you something Mr. Chaos, where are the Slytherins?" Snape asked very crossed.
"Ooh, the serpents are over there." Pinkie called as the slytherins came to their head of house, by the look they got they seem to have been in some very hot place, Snape noticed a bit of sweat on their foreheads.
"Let me guess the portal lead you to a sauna?" Snape asked as Draco and the other node.
"Good thing we got out of there quickly." Draco said, of course even the two ponies Aloe and Lotus weren't too happy of Discord getting a bunch a wizard students in without them knowing, finding them coming out of the sauna of their spa was not something they expected and were weary of seeing the house of serpents coming out displeased by the random destination.
"What a destination you got us to." Tracy commented.
"Well portals are not always easy to manage."
"Either that or you did this on purpose." Draco said although he couldn't deny he and some others enjoy the struggle Gryffindor students have getting out of the snow. While that was done the hufflepuffs and some other slytherins went to help their schoolmates out, of course they helped the Ravenclaws first joined by some ponies and some other creatures to get them out of their predicament. Of course the Gryffindor students had to get the snow out of their clothes and shoes.
"Well somehow it wasn't that bad, could have been worst, we could have been in icy water now." Twilight said.
"Ravenclaw was nearly in that predicament." Harry said before Pinkie Pie came with some muffins.
"Who wants some muffins?" Pinkie asked coming around giving some muffins to them.
"Sure." Ron said taking one muffin although Hermione noticed that there was too much sugar in them and with too many decorations.
"Ron wait." Too late, he took a large bite and Ron immediately felt discomfort with the muffin, it was too much sugar in it but he couldn't however refuse now.
"Hmm, not bad." Ron said with a smile to the pink pony that immediately went for the others.
"You sure you can eat that Ron?" Harry asked.
"I took it I have to live with it." Ron said as he tried to finish it although he didn't like it too much, too much sugar.
"But I do admit that it could make someone sick, no one can eat with that much sugar."
"Still we are here now, let's go around." Twilight said as everyone now started to move around the place.
Near Hogwarts
"MOVE IT! MOVE IT! MOVE!" Shouted the British tactical commander droid, he alongside his colleagues were now outside the command center before a squad of 14 droids, all of them veterans for 5 to 7 years that participated during the battle against the Death Eaters last year. The news of the recent 2 attacks that happened immediately after the senior students went this Saturday to Canterlot and Ponyville before the official start of the winter holydays had traveled very quickly and this time an order from the main governor on Diagon had sent a written order via Owl to the nearest garrison at the border. Which was officially the Hogwarts-Hogsmead Garrison, with the highest concentration been at the castle. The 3 tactical commander robots on receiving the order had immediately came with a course of action that wouldn't mean a provocation for the natives. At first they had mobilized 3 battalions for patrol at the border and the roads from the castle to the village and the train station. As for the assembled squad they were inspecting, they had calculated the necessity that for the rest of the visit, the students had to be guarded. However to not cause tension, especially with the natives that were reported as friendly had to assemble a small escort for the group of students.
The droid squad that they were inspecting was formed by one medical battle droid with a larger backpack that contained medical supplies for first aid like morphine and other medicine, 2 big water flasks, bandages, disinfectant and so on painted in white with a red cross and a blue Aesculapius staff on the chest and the backpack. Another was an engineer battle droid painted in black with the same big backpack containing tools which was also heavier, both he and the medical one only had a small blaster. Another one was a bulking B-2 battle droid that had special arms, aside from the laser weapons mounted on it; it also was able to grapple an opponent in close quarter combat. Another special one was a commando droid that was equipped not just with a laser weapon magnetized to its back alongside a special sword and a pistol attached to the pelvis, while on his chest he was equipped with a leather collar containing 3 medium straight combat knives in their leather casings also having the markings of an officer near the marking of a British flag on the chest and on his right hand on the wrist he had a small mechanism of a grappling hook.
While the others been regular droids, however 2 of them were equipped with bolt action rifles with their cartages hold in their boxes attached to the pelvis, been 2 boxes each, alongside their long bayonets in leather casings while 2 of them had assault rifles and the rest of 5 droids had regular DC-laser carbines, 2 of them also were equipped with a sheaths each to carry, not swords but sticks the size of a long sword that could be use to beat opponents or to simply interrogate them alongside stun batons that all regular ones had. Behind them was a patrol LAAT gunship 12 meters in length and 6 wide that could carry a total of 15 passengers with a B1 pilot with blue markings near it. Not known to many was the fact that inside the mountain was a hidden hangar that contained a number of 4 alongside 2 double propeller helicopters meant for patrol and transport.
"As you already know we had received news that 2 attacks had happened right after the senior students had left for this one day exchange program to the natives. This short stop that happened was something to calm the situation so this program to precede for sure, even with that, the attacks didn't stop. Your squad had been assembled in order to escort the students; they now have order to leave in approximately 2 hours after you arrive, the departure must be at 4:00 sharp, if there are still some minutes it shall be used only for gathering and preparation. My colleague will tell you next of what must be known." Said the British programmed tactical droid before the German one came in with a hologram projector to show a map with the location.
"You shall land in this area, nearby this town called Ponyville right at the outskirts. Your mission is primarily protection not aggression, there shall be no casualties among civilians, all the laser weapons must be placed strictly on stunt and paralysis, no lethal power unless strictly needed, we must not risk accidents especially among friendly natives and no public executions allowed." Said the Romanian made commander droid.
"And since the natives like fancy names so much this squad shall be named Noble Squad, with the commander." Started the German made one pointing to the commando droid that was on one end alongside the medic and engineer "Been designated as Noble 1 with the rest coming in the raw." He said before another engineer started to paint in red the capital letter N and near them the numbers on each of the droids in the squad.
"Remember your objectives and whoever terrorist or aggressive local try anything; deal with it in the swiftest manner possible in collaboration with their guards if necessary." Ordered the British made commander.
"All of you now, prepare to leave." Said the German one while the whole squad saluted.
"Roger Roger, yes sirs." They said in unison going for the transport, the larger B2 droid went behind the ship to attach himself to a special seat that is meant for his design, it literally was a seat where he could magnetize himself to it or be tied with strong belts to not occupy the interior.
However while the German and Romanian tactical droids started to leave, the British one remained behind and before the squad could leave another regular droid came by armed with the same DC-laser carbine magnetized to the back but was also carrying another thing, it was square in shape, attached to something similar to a grip with a round lens, a camera. Despite the fact that droids can stock everything they see and experience in their heads and could even download the recordings they make, it was decided by a certain tactical droid to equip one with a camera both to not look suspicious as well as to gather intelligence on the equestrian soldiers and warriors or anyone else that could be there. That been done because they didn't had the necessary equipment to transfer the necessary data to the tactical droid that ordered the gathering of intelligence.
"At last you arrived and I see that you got the camera." He said.
"Yes sir, sorry it took this long till I manage to came here. I see that I had lost the other commanders." He replied saluting his superior.
"They don't matter at this moment what I want is only for you to gather all the required intelligence that I want, no matter the ways done." He said.
"Roger Roger."
"Go and accomplish the mission." He ordered and the droid went in the shuttle that was preparing to get airborne. The troop bay was now by all accounts pretty cramped with all the members of Noble squad, especially after the doors had closed while starting to get in the air. Of course he was noticed by the commander.
"And what are you doing here?"
"I had been ordered to come by commander TB-6 on a special assignment."
"To take photos?" Asked Noble 3.
"Roger Roger we must look as harmless as possible, not to mention that the younger students would want to see the place for sure as well as gathering some intelligence."
"Hope it will not be necessary to fight the locals." Said a regular one that was marked as Noble 7 while taking up the turret that was attached to the ship, on the right side.
"Not the locals, but if terrorists come by we have our orders to stop them at any cost from doing too much damage or harm." Said Noble 1.
"The locals from what I saw aren't very tough they present themselves quite fearful of possible heavy action taken. This was quite obvious from when the messengers came in November." Reported Noble 10 adjusting his bolt-action rifle.
"Meaning the civilians will not interfere too much if there is an incident." Commented Noble 4.
"We must not take anything lightly." Commented the commando droid Noble 1 turning to the medic.
"Noble 12 have all necessary medical equipment at the ready, we have to suspect incidents happening. If students get injured they get priority if not you take care of the locals."
"Roger-Roger commander."
"We are across the border." Reported the pilot from his cockpit via transmitter in the troop bay, the border was with all intents and purposes decided from the beginning to be the other end of the forest, which also overlooked a small hill. From the ground at the base of it one could imagine that hill as either a place where an adventure could start or in the case of garrison the total limit of where they are allowed to go and advance. The hills themselves once you climbed them not only you are outside the territory but it was also designated for the general public as a no go point for security measures, it didn't matter if the land across it was a peaceful land. For the garrison of droids that was placed on high alert, the land across the hill could only mean a place where only the fog of war could loom and only by a direct order they could advance or go across it.
"Well I guess I have to say. Welcome to Equestria." The pilot declared.
"It shall be the experience of the students and us who shall decide if it will be a warm welcome or not." Commented Noble 7.
"I got a bad experience with the black Shape-shifters 6 years ago, I once plunged my bayonet in one." One droid labeled Noble 10 commented looking at his bolt action rifle.
"Can't believe they found us despite the clocking shield. Good thing they were given a hard time." Noble 10 said.
"Yeah maybe that was reason why their old ruler was deposed, and they now are labeled harmless for now." Noble 12 commented.
"Cut the chatter now, no need to use our vocabulators for remembering old experiences." The commando droid said and they complied.
"Roger-Roger commander." All responded as they stayed in silence, however they droid manning the gun noticed what seemed to be a red Pegasus in the distance who seemed to look at them, but was out of sight very soon.
"It seems we are been watched commander."
"Keep your sensors sharp, let them be if they keep distance, if not, only warning shots." Noble 1 said.
"Roger-Roger."
"Hope they will stay away for their sake." Said Noble 12 the medic.
"Yeah, me too, don't want something broken before arriving." Said Noble 3 the mechanic.
Ponyville
Despite the rocky start with the mishap destination for the students of each house, it didn't took a lot of time to start readdress themselves and started to go around the town. That happened right when Pinkie literally started the welcome party early for the students many, had also went into the Castle of Friendship where a table with the apple family products were present and many were delighted to try them.
"It is amazing to be here, the castle of the Princess of Friendship, not big like the one in Canterlot where we had the lessons but still." Ron said.
"It isn't like this place is less." Seamus added.
"It is however odd that she is not present here. One who had organized all those events should usually be around." Hermione said with suspicion.
"Maybe she has some other things she has to do, you know how Royalty is." Ron commented.
"Still is off if you tell me." Harry said somehow making Twilight a bit nervous about this. "But despite all that maybe something had intervened and even if she is not here, let's raise our cups." Harry started raising his cup "To the Princess of Friendship and all the Princesses of Equestria for doing this event for Hogwarts."
"To the Princesses!" Each student said raising their cups to give loud cheers to the delight of all ponies around and to Twilight's delight feeling great pride for this.
"Everything seems to work perfectly; we are off to a good start." Starlight said while listening from behind the door to the main hall as she was watching the students talking and having a good time, even among each other despite their different houses.
"And with the pictures taken of them getting along with everpony and raising their cups to the princesses, it is solid proof to foil all of Mislead's lies." Rarity said before Pinkie jumped up in excitement.
"Yay and I shall prepare the next party now."
"Let's not rush still, we need to see if the mood is right." Applejack said trying to approach Harry and Ron.
"Coming here really had proven to have been a good idea despite the first reservations we had." Ron said.
"Thank Twilight for this; she was the one who insisted the most." Harry said with a smile.
"Yet you have to agree that she insisted quite a bit about this. Not in the form of a fuss but she seemed quite unconcerned regarding possible dangers." Ron said a bit thoughtful making Applejack a bit disturbed as she was listening.
"I do have to agree with it Ron." Harry said thinking about this "Yet even you have to consider that we are kind of familiar with dangers."
"I know that, but the demonstration our teachers and we had to give to them during the lessons in Canterlot was quite something. The one professor Flang put us to do was the most unpleasant with the Boggarts." Ron said.
"The part where we had to face them as if we face the real deals I have to agree." Harry said feeling quite sick about this since he never had the chance to try his own boggart-banishing spell when he had to face the Dementor."Still feeling a bit sick by that."
"Are you sure it is not the muffins that pink pony made with too much sugar. Still feel them when I think about it and I barely ate one." Ron commented getting his hand to his neck.
"Don't need to tell me I heard that Neville nearly got sick. I wonder who in this whole world or in the whole galaxy could be able to eat those." Harry commented as the 2 moved back towards their classmates.
"Hey they weren't that sweet." Pinkie came tracking the 2 wizards' attention but they didn't saw her when they turned around since her friends made sure to be out of their sight.
"They didn't want to say it out of bad or ill fate Pinkie." Applejack said.
"Yet you can't deny that they were too sweet, even Mr. and Miss Cake thought so." Starlight said.
"Alright, maybe I had dropped a bit too much sugar, but you can't deny the effort of doing my best especially with our situation we are in."
"True, but let's make sure that things will go in the best way possible for them so we get enough evidence to demonstrate that what Mislead's had said isn't true." Rarity said.
"Good thing we got enough time." Starlight said as they went back to the town square as a group of students left the castle to where all the other students both from Hogwarts and the School of Friendship were living in the spirit they wanted to give. Fluttershy was the first one to come to them.
"So how are things going?" Applejack asked.
"As best as they could. Things are getting very well."
"And we almost got all the evidence needed to topple all Mislead had said." Rainbow Dash came. "Everything is going in the right direction."
"We just need to talk to professor McGonagall regarding some spells; she managed to give a small book on them." Starlight said.
"Wonder, we should tell Twilight that she should switch to pony form. I heard some students that gave praise to the 'Princess' who initiated the entire visit at the castle." Spike said while Gallus watching in the distance in the sky and noticed something approaching and something told him it wasn't good news.
"Might be a good idea, I will try to tell her when she is alone…."
"Professors I believe we got some more company." The griffon said.
"Ooh, more wizard friends." Pinkie said excited.
"I don't think they are quite friends in this case." He said tracking the attention of the other students.
"What makes you say that?" Sandbar asked.
"Well the students and the teachers came here by the means of Discord's portals, a magical way, and that over there" Gallus said pointing to the strange shape coming and it seemed it was starting to land.
"Isn't a magical thing."
"What the hay is that?" Applejack asked trying to focus more on it.
"They call them drop ships or transport ships, their non-magical humans are building them for either military or law enforcement use, as an air transport vehicle for personnel. Here they are usually employed by their robots." Gallus explained before Ocellus came.
"And unfortunately when they came, it isn't quite good news, it means there is an emergency. And they had been sent to deal with it as harsh as possible, speak from experience due to an unfortunate event that happened some time ago." The changeling explained which made them a bit nervous.
"We need to tell the royal guards that are here about this, we can't allow an incident to happen." Rarity said.
"As well as Mayor Mare and Professor McGonagall I shall try to sound not too nervous about this." Added Applejack while going in the direction of them, luckily they were talking.
"It really was an honor to come here I believe her highness really worked hard to make this visit happen." Said professor McGonagall.
"Oh the honor is also ours, the Princess really believed that doing so would be the best especially with-" The mayor started adjusting her glasses before Applejack came.
"Ahh excuse my interruption but did someone though of bringing some more guests?" Applejack asked.
"Excuse me?" Asked the deputy headmistress before the earth pony pointed to the sky to the transport ship annoying the witch and was also noticed by the other students around.
"This is not a good sign." Commented one of the Hogwarts students.
"Urgh, what could be the reason for them to be here?"
"Professor I believe if there will be trouble we can easily declare this trip will be cut short." Hermione said.
"Prefects with me." She ordered.
Back at the transport
"Check your weapons!" Ordered the commando droid as the group complied.
"Check." All declared as the ship landed and the green light came out and the door open.
"Door open, let's move." The commander said getting out of the shuttle followed then by the rifle bearing droids then the ones with DC-laser carbines, the medic and the engineer while the super battle droids detached from the harness to get to the others and the last were the ones with assault rifles.
"So this is the area, it seems like a peaceful place." Commented the medical droid.
"For the moment, we got our orders let's not ignore them." Said the commander.
"Can I ask what is going on?" Called professor McGonagall whom the droids noticed and immediately stood strait at attention, of course she wasn't with such things.
"Who send you here?" She demanded.
"Deputy Headmistress we received official orders from the governor." Said the commando giving her the parchment to read.
Due to recent attacks by natives, the colonial government is ordering for all activities in native territory to cease immediately. The Hogsmeat-Hogwarts garrison is ordered to send a squad to the visiting students in Equestria to order them to return immediately and to protect them in case of attack.
The order is to be carried out immediately without delay, every single threat must be dealt with swiftly and quick.

"How many attacks had been?" Asked professor McGonagall before the prefects came.
"3 attacks all happening today, there is however no rush but departure must be in 2 hours and 30 minutes. But if there will be an incident it shall be immediate departure."
"Some natives will not like the news professor." Harry said.
"It isn't me who decide on those things, however." She started turning to the droids "No entry in the town unless important and no harm to the locals or any creature."
"Roger." Said the commando droid before the elder which and the other wizards started to go back to the others, it was already obvious there was no good news.
"I guess there are problems." The mayor said.
"Some 'incidents' is forcing a quicker departure." She said before turning to the students.
"Departure shall be in 2 hours and 30 minutes due to recent events." McGonagall said which quite great news wasn't for the students and some of the ponies.
"Oh can't believe this." Pinkie Pie said sad by those news.
"This is how it is but there is still time Pinkie, quite enough I would say." Starlight said before looking at the robots in the distance that seemed to be receiving some tasks from their more intimidating black leader before turning to Harry.
"Ah, a quick question how should we do in their case?" She asked pointing with her hoof to the robots.
"You don't need to worry; they wouldn't do anything unless provoked." Harry said before Ron came by.
"Whatever you do, do not provoke them with anything, no snowballs, no rocks or anything else that could be provocative. When on tasks like this they had received they don't mess around." Ron explained before Starlight alongside Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy exchanged worried looks before looking again at the squad of droids.
"Noble Squad you all know your tasks, spread out." He ordered before the other droid with a camera came.
"I need to collect intelligence commander."
"Go with noble 7 and 8 they will assist you."
"Roger Roger." He said as he go with the 2 droids starting the camera as they were moving at the outskirts of the town fixing the camera on the royal guards first before moving on. One droid Noble 10 with a rifle went to the bridge as if on guard duty with weapon ready and with fixed bayonet while nobles 4 and 5 with small assault rifles remained near the gunship while noble 14 was walking around. As for the others they were walking only around outside, weapons set on stun. The guards, the ponies and other creatures in general looked at them with some suspicion and worry, due to what the students told them but by looking at them they didn't seem dangerous as long and they don't bother them. In general they were doing like what royal guards were doing. There was however one aspect that Spike noticed and that is that 2 of them seemed to carry sheaths similar to swords but weren't very thick like the royal guards had but were long.
"Ahem, hey I want to ask something about the 2 robots over there?" Spike asked Ron.
"What exactly?"
"Why do they have sheaths for swords and why are they so long and thin?" The dragon asked.
"That is the reason why we tell you not to provoke them, the sheaths they carry don't have swords, they have sticks or canes used for beating and corporal punishment." Harry explained making the dragon and the ponies around a bit nervous now.
"Corporal punishment?" Starlight asked.
"There is a law that is usually much criticized but is applied. According to it if they see a provocation they are allowed to use them to either disperse aggressors, to intimidate or to apply a corporal punishment." Harry explained feeling unpleasant to tell them that.
"It's unpleasant but if it will be your case for example if they see you harming one of us they are allowed to apply up to 20 hits depending on the harm caused." Ron said.
"This is really unpleasant." Fluttershy said fearful.
"Worst is the material it is made from." Hermione came "They are made from the wood of a 'special tree' from which several very good instruments are made but whose sap is usually irritant to the skin and needs to be cleaned and polished very good. What they have is from the bark that has an abrasive surface and once it is touched it irritates the skin, if one hits a person with it, it hurts very badly." Hermione explained shocking the ponies and Twilight in her human form.
"How many times did they use it for corporal punishment?" Applejack asked.
"Theoretically it should work only as a deterrent, that according to official records. From what I heard it wasn't applied too many times." Harry said reliving them a bit.
"Even with that there are critics of this law, problem is they didn't give enough evidence to suggest that the corporal punishment using those sticks are counterproductive. That is the reason why professor McGonagall told them to not enter unless something important, when on escort duty they could perceive whatever as provocation especially with things that could harm others."
"And that is why we tell you again, don't try to provoke them with anything either verbal or with a reckless action which triggers immediate response."
"Nodded." Rarity said not expecting that one could create such guards who could resort to measures like those told by them, Twilight also felt a bit unease although she was declared a student of Hogwarts, with such guards doing things like those, one could think that the students were more under surveillance rather than protection and also it was no wonder why they are trying their best to tell others to tread as carefully as possible when their guards are around. The Princess of Friendship could easily tell that with someone like Mislead and his group a single incident that could trigger beatings could easily be distorted to become a propaganda tool for his machinations.
In the meantime in the Everfree Forest
"Nearly complete." Said Mislead with a mask on as he placed pictures of different creatures and royal guards on the trees around, he also had pieces of mane for each picture alongside their cutie marks(in the case of the dragons, hippogriffs, diamond dogs and griffons it wasn't that much necessary with the exception of their portraits carved in the bark with magic).
"Those stupid Diamond Dogs should have taken up our offer to trash this 'trip'." Commented Cruel Deed showing three of the dogs whom they took as hostages all three been tied up. "Despite our offer of payment."
"You don't need to worry about that, only try to dispose of them in some way. Did you found someone who is willing to do this spell and other to make the pictures?"
"Affirmative, the Pegasus photograph I had already sent as for the unicorn I found one, I had to be very persuasive for that." Cruel Deed asked with a smirk.
"Excellent work and you told him what would happen if he doesn't do what we ask?"
"I had my methods." The red Pegasus said not noticing that one of the Diamond Dogs managed to get near a tree to a part which was abrasive and sharp enough for him weaken his bondage.
"Did you also make insurance if he gets captured?"
"He doesn't know my name at all neither the real ones nor the fake ones." Cruel Deed said as one of the Diamond dogs managed to free himself before freeing his 2 companions before trying to sneak out. They didn't get far since one of them stepped on a branch tracking their attention.
"Hey you, stop!" Called Cruel Deed as they hurried the pace to the place where they were about to send their 'copy troops'.
"NO!" Cruel Deed called wanting to get after them till a hoof came over his shoulder.
"Leave them be."
"What?"
"Their guards are now present and from what you told me despite some of them been jokes when they are coordinated they are lethal when confronting with some like them. They will surely be either chased away or silenced."
