Death returned to his meal again. He showed no reaction to the sudden bombshell. Castiel tried his best to hide his annoyance but the silence started to grate him.
"Well?" He asked.
Death swallows and eyes the angel up and down. He then feigned surprise.
"Oh you are being serious?"
Cas had to stop himself from rolling his eyes.
"That's quite...ambitious. The usual hunts have become tiresome? Speaking of hunts where is the boy?" They all looked at each other. Death again pretended to look shocked. "Oh he doesn't know. Secrets." He tuts. "Never a good idea."
"Answer the question." Cas demanded. "How do we kill God?"
Death gave out a low chuckle.
"An angel wants God dead? Ironic. Lost faith in Him I see?"
Cas glared at him.
Death sighs.
"It was coming."
"What was coming?" Patrick asked.
"God's death. His behavior it was going to come back and haunt Him eventually. I do have to say His choice of killers...are quite odd."
They all looked at each other. Crowley raised his hand.
"I have no part in this."
"Yet here you are."
"It was his idea." Crowley pointed at the Irish witch.
Death looked at the He-witch.
"How did it feel to be close to death?"
The question threw Patrick off guard.
"Excuse me?"
"An immortal witch who thinks he is untouchable. Death seems impossible to him until now. You almost died. I ask how did it feel?"
"We are here to talk about Chuck. Not me."
"I can see it." Death looks Patrick over. "The horror, the shock beneath that mask I can see it all. You were scared no scratch that you ARE scared. It changed you, you are not the same person you once was no...They do say death changes everyone."
"I'm not scared." Patrick laughed. "I'm more annoyed than anything."
"Because you lost your armor? Your shield? You can't hide behind your youth? The bravado you put on." He shakes his head. "You can't fool anyone now not with your current state. You are vulnerable now and your fear is that you experienced dying once you will very likely experience it again and next time you may not make it back. Dead for good."
Death sucks on his straw. Patrick stared at him as he tried to process what the Horseman said.
"Next time you may not make it back."
This is the part where Partick would laugh it off but the words he wanted to say are stuck in his throat.
"Dead for good."
The tremble returns to his hands.
Not wanting anyone to look Patrick puts his hands under the table. The corner of Death's lips tug upwards. He knew he hit a nerve.
"Look are you going to tell us or not?" Cas asked steering the conversation back to the main topic.
"Can God die? Yes and no."
"But you just said..."
"He can but His powers cannot." They looked at him waiting for him to elaborate on that. Death again sighs. "Light and darkness. Yin and Yang. Two sides of the same coin. Balance. It all requires balance. If one goes it causes an imbalance. If God dies it will cause an imbalance. Why do you think the Darkness is locked up? If she dies it will cause an imbalance. The world the universe will be at stake."
"So what does mean?" Patrick asked after regaining his compose.
"As I just said He can die but His powers cannot so..."
"They need to be separated?"
Death nods.
"How are we going to do that?" Crowley huffed a sigh.
"You can't. " Rowena shakes her head. "His powers are immense that would be impossible. "
"Well you have your options. Option one: Like the Darkness you could trap God. Create a prison for Him. Another Mark."
"How do we do that?" Cas asked.
"There is someone who knows how to trap Him. His favorite son."
Cas didn't hesitate.
"Michael. "
"Hmm."
"But Michael is in the..."
"Rotting away in the Cage correct."
"The Archangel Michael." Patrick glanced at the others. Another conversation added to the list of conversations Patrick never thought he would have in his life time. "Where..."
"Lucifer is." Cas shakes his head.
Patrick grits his teeth.
Yeah that's probably not going to happen.
"Option two: God gives up His powers willingly. "
"Thats definitely not going to happen." Patrick runs a hand down his face and glares at the Horseman. "You said God can die."
"I did."
"Then how does He die?"
"That I can't reveal. Whatever is in His Death book I can't share it."
"So these options you shared with us could be crap as well?"
"I'm just giving you the options. I'm not forcing you to do anything. You may kill him you may not it may even be someone else who performs the deed."
Patrick again grits his teeth this time with anger.
"Can you stop fucking around and just tell us."
Death smiled.
"This is a waste of time." Crowley muttered.
Death continued to smile.
"His ego is a weakness." Death eventually said. "Feed into that ego and it will lead to reckless decisions. Maybe you will see it is not impossible. All you got to do is play your cards right?" He looked at Patrick as he said it. "Now if you excuse me." He stands up. "I shall be off."
"That's it?" Patrick said as he rose to his feet.
Death raises an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"You didn't tell us anything?"
"I just did."
"Enough with the games." Partick sounded desperate now. "Just tell us how can we make this all stop how can we get our lives back?"
"You are discussing life with me?" Death huffed a laugh.
Patrick was getting annoyed by the cryptic talk.
The laughter died down and Death turned serious.
"Witch. Dying doesn't affect your brain. You will figure it out."
Patrick sighs.
"Do we win?" He whispered.
Death snorted.
"I'm not going to ruin the ending for you all."
"Just please."
Death stared at him. His face is blank. He isn't going to reveal anything.
Well it was worth a shot.
"Thank you for the meal." Death said. "Now if you could..."
Rowena removes the bindings and spells. Death nods.
"Thank you."
Then the Horseman vanished.
Patrick punched the table with his fist and swore out loud.
"Fuck!"
I know the chapters have been short recently but I don't have so much a writers block I'm just trying to figure out how do the showdown. Trying to bring everyone together. Come up with the plan. Death has given some hints on how it might go. I got some ideas is is mainly to do with putting it into writing. Don't worry I won't abandon the story I will finish it. I have to think (Loki is definitely not helping my muse at the moment lol) If anyone has any ideas feel free to share in the reviews.
