This was my favorite chapter so far! The next chapter will probably be the last, so if you have any ideas about the play I'd love to hear it.

I'm working on something about Kuroko no Basket, so stay tuned!

Ps: In the previous chapter Choso thanks Satoru for Yuji's recommendation letter, but it was my mistake, he was referring to Suguro.

CHAPTER THREE

Family Reunion

- Oh, I think I finally understand. So Megumi is your stepson, but he's the son of the scammer Toji Zenin, and he was adopted by your husband and now you two are raising him.

- Yes, but please don't say that he is the son of a criminal, that hurts Megumi.

- And what is your husband's relationship with Toji Zenin?

Suguro shrugged, he seemed a little less stressed after he found out that Megumi Fushiguro was hiding in my house. He called his husband right away to break the news and now we were all heading there so they could talk to the kid.

I hadn't warned Yuji about what he would find when he got home, for fear of Megumi running away again, I just asked them to arrive early since Suguro insisted on taking me home.

Honestly I couldn't complain, the car was very comfortable and I could sleep on those big leather seats.

- The kids might be hungry when they get home, but I won't let you cook for everyone, so I'll order something, okay?

- Thank you - I replied, If it weren't for the family drama I was about to witness I might even sleep more today - you can turn around that corner.

I noticed that Suguro dodged the question about Toji Zenin and I wouldn't insist on that, I was already happy to have a ride home today.

- Is here? - Suguro asked as we entered a street a little narrower than the highways he was used to.

- Yes, you can pull over.

I was already used to the smaller houses and the sound of children playing in the dead-end street. For me it was a welcoming sound and I didn't have to worry about who Yuji would spend his afternoons with.

- Your house is beautiful - Suguro said upon entering, I took his coat and put it in the small closet we had under the stairs.

- Thank you - I replied as I turned on the lights and collected the dirty clothes that I had left scattered around the room before leaving - it's enough for Yuji and me.

Suguro sat on the couch to order food while I finished washing the dishes I had left in the sink before leaving for work. He had integrated the kitchen with the living room to keep an eye on Yuji when he was little, but now he realized that it was also a good idea for when we had guests.

- What's upstairs?

- Oh - I served Suguro some tea, he looked very luxurious and elegant for a simple house like mine - I turned it into an independent apartment for rent, but I still have access from the inside. I think now that Yuji is older would be a good time for that.

- You always talk about Yuji - Suguro laughed after taking a sip of tea, but he wasn't making fun of me, it was a sincere compliment - you're a good brother, Choso.

He looked at the walls of the house some more, looking thoughtful.

- At first I wanted to live in a place like this with my girls, but Satoru likes big houses and big gardens.

- And how are Nanako and Mimiko? Last time you told me about them was when they went to study abroad.

- They are fine, they like London, they like being independent, but still they call me every day saying they miss home - Suguro sighed, he placed the cup of tea back on the table, practically empty. - I miss them too.

We heard the door open and Yuji and Megumi entered the house. They talked about random things, but Megumi's almost smile soon left his face when he noticed Suguro was there.

- Megumi - Suguro stood up, there was relief in his voice - you're okay!

- I'm not going back home, if that's what you came to try to do.

Refusing to look him in the face, closed expression, arms crossed. I needed to thank the heavens more that Yuji didn't have such a complicated adolescence.

- We already ordered food, come and sit down - I decided to intervene, I called the boys with my hand and at least Yuji obeyed me.

- Who is this man? - Yuji asked. I patted his head like I did every day.

- He's my friend from work, he was the one who wrote the letter of recommendation for you to go to the new school.

- Oooh, the guy you have a crush on!

Blank stare. I was completely shocked when Yuji said that out loud. I didn't have a crush on Suguro, I just admired him a lot and may have talked about him to Yuji sometimes.

-Yuji...

- What? I don't care if you like boys or girls...

- Shhhhh - I covered his mouth with my hand and he sat down.

I always tried to teach Yuji good manners, but for some reason he did whatever he wanted when he was with other people around.

At least his actions served to relax the atmosphere a little, as even Megumi started to smile at my embarrassment.

I couldn't look at Suguro after that, so I don't know how he reacted.

- Oh no - Megumi said, he was looking out the window - that guy too?

- Is Satoru here? – Suguro said - Finally, now we will all be able to talk together.

Megumi opened the door for the man who must have been his father, the man ran in and hugged him as if he were a stuffed doll, kissing his cheeks.

Even though it was already getting dark, the man wore sunglasses, his hair was white despite how young he looked, and his suit was as expensive as Suguro's.

- Megumi-chan! -said the man, his voice was unpleasant - What do you think you are doing here? You ran away without telling anyone!

- That was the point.

From the way Megumi pushed his father away and wiped his cheeks, they shouldn't get along. I automatically looked at Yuji and pinched his cheeks. If he ever did that to me I think I would end up dying.

As the man approached us in the living room he finally took off his glasses, revealing two luminous and frightening blue orbs that I had already seen before.

- You are the car maniac! - I pointed at him as soon as I recognized him - You ran over me that day and didn't even apologize!

- I can't believe you're that annoying guy from that day! - the man looked at Megumi, who had now sat next to Yuji - Megumi-chan, are you really friends with this boy or is he kidnapping you?

- You were hit by a car and you didn't tell me?

- Satoru! - Suguro finally intervened - Please sit down, I work with Choso, he is a good man. Megumi met his younger brother at school.

The strange man still seemed distraught with rage, but Suguro's words seemed to have had some effect on him, as he sat down next to his husband.

I took a deep breath to calm down, there was no point in fighting there.

- Yuji and I will let you talk as a family, we'll be at the end of the hall.

I felt bad leaving Megumi there because he looked at me like he was asking for help, but I could only go so far, after all they were family.

I carried Yuji by the hand and took him with me to the end of the hallway, they would have had more privacy if we had gone upstairs, but I didn't want to go there again. Furthermore, through the window at the end of the corridor you could see whether the food was arriving or not.

- You were hit by a car and didn't tell me?

I nodded, there was no point lying to Yuji now.

- So I can never lie, but can you have a near-death experience and not tell me?

- It wasn't a near-death experience - we were whispering as we didn't want to disturb what was happening in the other room. Suguro was the calmest among them, I still couldn't believe he was married to that scandalous man - that man is crazy.

- And? You would have died and left me alone.

It hurt deep in my chest to hear Yuji say that to me, because that was exactly what happened to me, or what would have happened if he hadn't existed.

- I'm sorry - I said, untying my hair - I shouldn't have done that, I was irresponsible, and we have to admit our mistakes.

Yuji nodded, then it was his turn to patted my head.

- Your boyfriend is handsome. - he said, if he had changed the subject it was because we were fine.

- I have no boyfriend.

- But you could have one.

- He's literally married!

- Then find someone single! I'm sure uncle Nanami knows several people who might be interested in you.

- I'm too tired for this conversation.

I leaned my head against the window, I saw a biker entering the street, the food was finally here.

Suguro had placed a large order at an Italian restaurant, so soon the table was filled with pasta, a salad and some types of tender meat.

- I'm sure this is better than anything I've ever cooked - I said after tasting some of the white sauce pasta.

- This is good - said Yuji - but I still prefer your food.

- Really? - I said, surprised and moved by the comment - But this is the food of a professional chef.

- You are also a professional chef, but my private chef.

- You are very kind to your brother, Yuji - I heard Suguro say while I was distracted trying to hold back my tears of joy.

His husband, I think his name was Satoru Gojo, was eating silently in the corner, looking at me menacingly. Megumi looked better, although his eyes were red again. He ate on our side of the table.

- So it's decided - Suguro continued - Megumi will stay here for a while, but of course we will pay for it.

- What? It is not necessary...

- Shut up - Yuji said.

- We think he can stay here until the school play, so he can calm his emotions.

- What school play?

- The annual school play - Suguro continued - all students participate, Megumi did very well last year, I'm sure Yuji will do well too.

I looked at Yuji, having to control a shrill scream of emotion that I was holding in the back of my throat.

A school play!

I needed a new camera.
