It's quite remarkable how time flies in a place where each day is rife with wonder and peril. The Lost World, the Plateau, Avalon — this land has reshaped all of us in ways we could never have fathomed upon first setting foot here.

I find myself scribbling these thoughts beneath the glow of a lantern, with the steady chirps of nocturnal creatures resonating from the thickets and woods around. We've witnessed and experienced things that the civilized world would consider myths or outright fabrications.

Dinosaurs, ancient civilizations, portals to other times and places, and of course, the ever-present threat of Mordren. We've endured trials that tested not just our physical mettle but the very fabric of our souls.

In the middle of it all, my relationship with Veronica has blossomed. A bond that began as friendship has transformed into an undeniable love, guiding us through the most treacherous of times. We dream of the future, of exploring the world beyond the plateau, and, perhaps, of a family. A thought that, a year ago, would have seemed a mere fantasy.

Challenger and Summerlee, once near rivals, have come to respect and admire one another, the boundaries of academia giving way to a genuine friendship. Roxton and Marguerite have finally found their path to each other, and their moments of stolen glances have matured into a deep, sincere love.

But this isn't just about recounting the relationships that have evolved. It's also about documenting the incredible discoveries we've made — from advanced communication devices of an ancient civilization to the mesmerizing landscapes and deadly predators of The Lost World. These are tales that would make headlines worldwide, yet Challenger, in his newfound wisdom, has realized that some stories are best left untold, preserved for their intrinsic value rather than public spectacle.

A sense of finality lingers in the air, as we prepare for what might be our ultimate confrontation with Mordren. The future remains uncertain, but the past — these moments we've shared, the bonds we've formed — are indelible, immortalized in these pages.

No matter what tomorrow brings, I am eternally grateful for this adventure, for the friends who stood by my side, for love rediscovered, and for the countless tales that await beyond the horizon.

With hope for a brighter future and an enduring spirit of discovery,

Edward T. Malone

A note from author:

The Final Battle will be a separate story. It is being written at this very moment.

I want to give special thanks to Hera, who has been very kind in leaving beautiful reviews on my stories and showing me that I am not the only one who is crazy enough to be still invested in these characters 20 years later. Thank you!
