"I got sick with the serum that they gave us so they sent home earlier." I bite my chicken

"They are already talking about something bad about us . You can't do that." Father isn't happy with it.

"Who are they?" I narrow my eyes

I know that I shouldn't ask because it is out of curiosity. And curiosity is prohibited for abnegation.

"Erudite." Father asks . "They have released antagonist report about us . Even it isn't Abby or Jason but they still hate us."

"What did they write in the report?" I ask

"Delia why don't you finish listening to your father?" Mom sighs

I be quiet for a long time. I duck my head and finished my meal

"They said the reason why your mom chose abnegation is because that she was fighting with her ex boyfriend who is from Candor Alexander davis ." Father hisses

"Is that true?" Beatrice opens her mouth.

"Of course not." Father smiles at beatrice . "Your mom doesn't has any ex boyfriend."

My dad is very confident but my mom is quiet. I feel that she is hiding something from him

We finished dinner so quickly and I am washing dishes with beatrice and Maria . Dad and mom come inside

"You should rest early Delia because you have a lot thinking to do." Dad hugs me . "We love you"

Mom hugs me as well. Her hug is very powerful

"I love you no matter what." Mom kisses my cheek

Maybe my mom already knows what I am going to choose

"Good night Delia and three of you." Dad grabs mom's hand and walks away

Caleb stands beside me . He looks like that he wants to say something

"Sister I know that you should think about us but also you have to think for yourself." Caleb puts his hand on my shoulder. "I want you to be happy."

It is first time that I hear Caleb telling me to think about myself . He is the most selfless person in our family. I can't say the same thing about beatrice and Maria .

"Thank you Caleb."

When I get back to my room, it is around 9pm. I sit on the balcony doing nothing. Then suddenly someone are standing in front of my house

"Delia?"

It is Jason coulter . Why is he here? He waves at me . He wants to talk to me something. I sigh. I have to do it quick and quiet.

I run downstair and sneak out the house

"We can have a walk. We can't stand here." I grab his arm and yank him forward .

"I am here to talk to you about something that you should know about me ." Jason grabs my shoulder . "I want you to know before you choose."

"Yeah what should I know that you released that report about my mom?" I yell at him. "She is my mom."

I push him away. My eyes are full of tears

"I didn't write anything? Anyway what report?" Jason looks innocent.

"The report from erudite said that my mom fought with her ex boyfriend Alexander Davis from Candor so that's the only reason why she chose abnegation." I cover my face with my hands. "My mom chose abnegation all because she is selfless."

"Who are there!" A familiar voice appears behind us

I turn around and ted is standing there . He was awake by me

"Delia? Why are you out? Jason coulter you shouldn't be here . Especially erudite who hurt Delia's mom." Ted smirks

"Ted gives us sometime okay? I am talking to Jason about something else." I say. "Please."

"Fine , five more minute." Ted walks away

Jason looks at me painfully. Did he really not knowing about this

"Delia, you know what? I love you . I really do love you. I will never attack any of your families or abnegation. Please trust me . I may know who did that. Do you want to come with me so I can show you something?" Jason says

"Where?" I frown

"Erudite compound ." Jason says. "My car is not far away."

I want to know the truth . I look back at our house . Ted will lie for me even . He will not give me in.

"Okay sure ." I nod at him

I have to trust Jason coulter . He and my dad were best friend before even they have a big age gap.

I walk beside him toward other side of abnegation. There is a silver car with a solar power panel on it.

"You guys don't use power engine ?" I ask

"No , we use the solar panel to conserve energy." Jason shrugs .

We sit into the car and driver starts to drive . I look out of the window into the darkness .

"Jeanine is doing something that I am sure behind my back." Jason rubs his temple . "Maybe she did release something about abnegation and your parent but mainly he is researching about the fear landscape serum for dauntless."

"Why is she doing that?" I frown

"She is looking for divergent and she is frequently seeing my brother . I want to let you hear something." Jason looks disappointed

We arrive at erudite headquarter . I follow Jason into the headquarter . He leads me into elevator and presses his fingers at the top floor . I stand beside him. He doesn't say a word

When the elevator comes to a ding, my heart elevated . Do I want to know the truth at all? I should leave but I am already here so I better know something

What if they are right about my mom, that she does has a ex boyfriend but she didn't tell my dad . What am I going to do with it!

He brings me to a lab . It is a secret lab .

"This is lab which I assigned to Jeanine . She is searching something about a long range transmitter for divergent and also she is writing something but I am not sure ." Jason sits in front of the computer and typed something.

"You know all the passcode?" I frown

"Yeah I am the leader of erudite so that's what I know ." Jason smiles at me .

He opens the computer and opens a file . There is a report about my mom .

"It is really her." Jason says . "I will do something about it. Okay?"

"I am sorry Jason for yelling at you." I bite my lips

"It's fine but Delia . I told you that I love you which is true . I want you to think about it." Jason looks at me seriously

I don't know what is love and I don't even know should I love him or not

"I am sorry Jason. I know that we have being best friend since school but I only see you as friend ." I shake my head

"Delia , I will give you time okay? Tomorrow at the choosing ceremony, what you choose will be the answer ." Jason says

I don't say yes or no . I just leave . Jason's driver drives me back home and I know that ted will be angry

"Why are you here so late . It is around 2 am." Ted looks at his watch

"I am sorry. I don't know that this is already so late." I am embarrassed

"What did he tells you?" Ted asks

I don't know should I trust him or not but he is my best friend

"He told me who released the report and he ….." I stop there

"He confessed to you right ?" Ted is angry. "Do you know that I have the same feeling for you?"

"Ted you can't! I am not going to go to dauntless with you most likely and I only see you as a bigger brother."

The second day comes so quickly. I go to the choosing ceremony with my families and ted . When we enter the room, Ted's friend invites him to sit with them.

"You should go." I nod at him

He doesn't follow me anymore . I walk to the last row . Jason and Jeanine are there. Jeanine looks at me and then away

"Delia!" Abby waves at me . "Here , you are on the first to choose."

"Why?"I say

"They randomly picking the name this year." Abby sighs. "I am last."

I stand beside her . She is happy today. Eric is looking at our direction. If he is working with Jeanine Matthew , then something is going to happen.

"I believe the faction system in a living being. Every of you guys are the cells which makes up of it. Our bright future belongs to those of you who knows where you belong." Jason claps his hand. "The first one : Delia prior ."

I walk toward the stage . I look at my family. They are all smiling at me . I walk on the stage . I will choose abnegation even I have to suppress it.

I take the knife from Jason and cuts my palm opens . The blood is dripping. I put my hand above the abnegation bowl but then shift to my left side toward the dauntless bowl.

"Dauntless."

My parent look at me surprisingly but my mom is smiling still. Does she also wants me to choose dauntless or she just knows that. I walk down the stage and toward the dauntless

One of the boy stands up and welcomes me

"Welcome to dauntless."

He gives me his seat and I sit down in the middle . I look at everyone around me

"Hello I am Marlene and this is my best friend Shauna ." Marlene gives me her hand

"Delia prior ." I shake her hand

She smiles at me . She is so friendly maybe they still accept abnegation as their friends .

"Abby." Jason calls

"Abby? Her mother was the mistresses before ." Shauna rolls her eyes

"Abby is my best friend." I argue

They all looking at me weirdly . When Jason calls out dauntless, I am shocked

"Abby transfer? I don't like her ." Lynn snorts . "She is pretty but bitchy."

"Don't say that please ." I shake my head .

"Why?" Lynn raises her eyebrows

Abby comes and sits down beside me . I cough a little

"Hey." Abby nods at me . "Surprise to see you here ."
