Beginning Of…
Our story begins out in the Atlantic Ocean; a large passenger liner has left a small harbour of Denmark about a day ago, carrying its passengers of cars across the ocean.
This is a story that centers around four young cars leaving their home of Denmark, heading out for the USA.
The ocean liner whom they were traveling wasn't really big and or fancy like many other liners of the time. It was just fine for everyone on board. Well, mostly everyone. Still the cars had a good time for the three days.
On this day, out on one of the outer decks, standing alone by himself, there is a young car.
At the moment, he is starting back in the direction of his hometown. He was thinking about something when a loud voice on the loudspeaker interrupted him.
"This is your captain speaking," the ocean liner said, "Captain, Barclay. We will be cruising along to the USA! And it will be a U. S. of an A! Okay, I made that up. We'll be there in 2 days. Yes, it takes that long and, uh you all know that."
This announcement didn't bother the young car that much. "Man," the young car said, "He sure likes to show off with his announcements. Out loud! Luckily, I'm not getting seasick. But just the thought of it will."
While most of the other cars were excited to hear this news, this young car continued to stare out in the direction where he came from. "Yeah," he said to himself, "What an excitement. Leaving home. But for what? Grandfather?" The young car, who is wearing goggles, continued to stare in the same direction.
Just then, he noticed a small propeller plane. "Hang on," the young car said, finally taking notice, "It's a plane. But why is it flying towards this ship?" Then he noticed that the little plane is in trouble and is having a hard time flying. "Oh no," the car said, "It's going to fall into the sea! I got to save it!"
He immediately got out a long pole with additional supports, which he packed and placed it right in the path of the falling plane. "Hang on!" he called out to the plane, "I'll catch you! Just fly closer!"
The little plane had almost missed the pole, but it eventually landed safely on the prongs. "There," the young car said, reeling in the pole with the little plane safely on it, "That was a close call. I didn't want you to end up in the sea, little fellow."
The little plane was glad to be on something solid and had eventually gotten itself settled. "Looks like you've flown a long way, haven't you?" the young car said to the plane, "I take it that you've used up all of your fuel. Are you lost, little fellow?" The little plane nodded to say 'yes'.
"I understand," the young car said, "I'm kind of lost myself, too. Just in thought. Yes, I know I'm heading to the USA. But for what purpose? Trying to figure that out." The little plane shrugged in confusion.
"Yeah," the young car said, "I don't know either. Well, we're on the ship for the next two days, so would you like to stay with me until we hit land?" The little plane jumped up and down to say 'yes' again.
Then the young car thought of what to name the little place. It didn't take him long to come up with a name. "Would you like to be named 'Clipper'?" the young car suggested. The little plane spun its propeller to say 'yes' again.
"Great! Clipper it is then," the young car said, "Oh, sorry, Clipper. I should have introduced myself first. My name is Skylar and I'm happy to meet you." The little plane was happy to meet a new friend, but then, he noticed something on Skylar. It is his goggles. "Oh, these?" the car, named Skylar replied, "These are some kind of fashion accessories. See?"
Skylar strapped his goggles on his eyes. Clipper was amazed. "Looking great," Skylar smiled, "And I think they're cool." He then removed his goggles. "Anyway," he went on, "Want to rest?" Clipper nodded again. "All right," Skylar said, "I think you deserve it. After what you've been through."
Skylar then put away his retrieving pole and he headed towards his cabin room with his new friend, Clipper.
On his way, Skylar noticed another young car. "I wonder what she was doing?" he asked himself as he continued towards his assigned cabin, "I've seen her twice yesterday."
Soon enough, Skylar entered his cabin and both he and Clipper got settled in. "I don't know if mini planes count," Skylar said to himself, "But I'll let it slide." Clipper was a little bit confused.
"I'll figure something out," Skylar said to the little plane, "In the meantime, you can make yourself at home. And I'll get you something. You can come outside with me, but you have to be careful. There's a word, but I'd dare not call you that word. Don't worry. For now, just rest. Oh, and if the captain makes an announcement, well, I don't know what to say about that. He just likes to make announcements that are amusing."
The little plane agreed and Skylar was about to close his cabin door when suddenly, another car came barreling into his cabin room. "What the radiator?!" Skylar exclaimed as the car ended up startling Clipper.
"Hi," the car said, "I'm hiding in here, just to let you know." "What?!" Skylar replied, confused, "Wait a minute!" Clipper then warned Skylar that trouble is approaching.
"Wait here," Skylar said to the little plane as he exited his cabin and immediately ran into two huge trucks and a large forklift. "Can I help you with something?" Skylar asked the three.
"Where is that punkhole?!" one of the bigger trucks asked fiercely. "He caused us so many problems!" a forklift said out loud, "Where the hell is he?!"
Skylar had to think of something quick. "He went all the way down there," Skylar told the three jerks, pointing out in the wrong direction on purpose. "Thanks, kid!" the other truck replied, "I'm going to enjoy breaking him!"
So the trucks and the forklift went down the corridor, going the wrong way. "Bye, and good riddance," Skylar said, "And that was one big, fat forklift. Jerks." He then closed his cabin door before anything else happened. "All right," Skylar said to the car, "You can come out now. They're gone."
The other car then came out from hiding. "Oh, you saved my tailpipe there," the car said. "What were you really doing?!" Skylar asked the other car, "To get yourself into trouble like that?!" "I was just messing around with them," the car answered, "Just pulling a few pranks on them here and then."
"Well, think for once next time!" Skylar scolded, "You're lucky I've decided to help you! Otherwise, I would have let them have you!" "Okay," the car said, "I'll be more careful." "You'd better," Skylar said sternly. "Oh, by the way," the car said, "My name is Kaz. What's your name, gogglehead?"
"My name is Skylar," Skylar introduced himself to the car, whose name is Kaz, "And I get that all the time. So, Kaz, are you going to behave from now on?" "Uh, yes," Kaz answered. "Seriously, I-," Skylar was about to say something, but he decided not to. Clipper was amused.
"Anyway," Skylar said, "This is Clipper. I, well, let me just say that I kind of air-fished him. You get what I mean. Kind of." "You have a plane?" Kaz asked. "Yes," Skylar answered, "I couldn't let him swim in the ocean. He might have dove into an angry submarine out there."
"Well, you know what they say about subs," Kaz said, "They're really upbeat." "Whatever that means," Skylar said. "Say, want to explore around here?" Kaz asked. "Sure," Skylar answered, "Just don't insult any more cars."
"Come on!" Kaz said, "Captain Barclay has lots of cool stuff on board! Well, you know." Skylar decided to go with his new friend, Kaz. "Clipper," Skylar said to the little plane, "Want to stay here for now? I'll bring you something to eat later." Clipper obeyed as Skylar and Kaz left the cabin.
"What do you think planes like?" Kaz asked. "Aviation oil," Skylar answered, "What do you think?" So the two friends left the cabin. "So what do you want to show me?" Skylar asked. "Lots of cool things," Kaz answered, "On deck!"
"Well, can you explain?" Skylar asked. "Yes," Kaz answered. "And you'd better not insult someone again," Skylar added in, "You know what will happen."
However, Skylar almost backed into another car by mistake. "You almost hit it," Kaz said. "Oh, I'm sorry!" Skylar said, realizing his mistake, "I didn't mean it." The car said nothing. Instead, she gave off a cold stare with her eyes.
"Maybe she's just shy," Kaz said, "We're sorry." "We'd better get going now," Skylar said nervously. The car said nothing. Instead, she tuned to leave with that cold look in her face. "Okay," Skylar said, "I take it that she is shy."
But to their surprise, the car turned to look at the two young cars and said, "My name is Spiritstrike." "Okay," Skylar said nervously, "My name is Skylar and this is my newly met friend, Kaz." "Hi," Kaz said, "You look nice." "We'll see each other again, Skylar, Kaz," Spiritstrike said in a mysterious tone before leaving.
"What's up with that?" Kaz asked, confused. "We may see her again," Skylar answered, "That's what she'd said. I guess that she has her reasons." Skylar looked to see that Spiritstrike turned away to avoid a nice little family. "Really," he added.
And the two friends began to explore what the ship had to offer. "Ready?" Kaz said. "Uh, sure," Skylar answered." "Now let's go!" Kaz exclaimed. "And I need to get something for Clipper, too," Skylar added in.
Afterwards, for some time now, Skylar and Kaz had a good time together. Although Skylar realized that Kaz can be irresponsible a lot of the time and makes a few mistakes. Nonetheless, Skylar liked his goofy antics, well, most of the time.
"Grandfather," Skylar said, "Is this what you sent me out here for? Friends? That it?" "Who are you talking to?" Kaz asked. "No one," Skylar answered. "Okay," Kaz said. "Just my grandfather," Skylar said to himself, "Thank you."
The two continued exploring and they eventually ran into another young car on her way to America, too. "Oh, hi," she said. "Hello," the young car said. "So," Skylar said, "I've seen you multiple times today and yesterday." "Glad you noticed," the young car said.
"Well, it's nice to meet you," Skylar said shyly, "Um." "My name is Jinny," the car said. "I'm Skylar," Skylar said, "And." "My name is Kaz," Kaz said. "Don't worry," Jinny said, "We'll, meet again." "Okay," Skylar said.
"And by the way," Jinny said, "I think you're cute with those goggles." "Uh, thanks," Skylar said as Jinny drove off. "That was a nice compliment," Kaz said to Skylar, "And I think-" "What?" Skylar asked. "Just trying to have a clear sense of direction," Kaz said.
Just then a van drove by, not knowing where to go. "Better than that guy," Skylar said to himself. Then he turned to Kaz and said, "I hope you can have a clear sense of direction." "Okay," Kaz said.
"Anyway," Skylar said, "I got to get this aviation oil to Clipper. Thank you, Kaz!" "No problem," Kaz replied as Skylar drove back to his cabin. The little plane was happy to see his new friend.
"Hey," Skylar said, "Clipper, here you go. I got you something to eat. Like you want." The little plane had its aviation engine oil. "Glad you like it," Skylar smiled, "Happiness. That's what my grandfather wanted me to find. I understand."
And Skylar sat in his cabin. Kaz was outside thinking about something, too. "Well, at least those big fat jerks hasn't found me yet," Kaz said, "But I may be wrong." So he decided to return to his cabin.
Also, Jinny and Spiritstrike returned to their assigned cabins to think about what they've planned to do when they get to the USA. Also, Jinny did something else in her cabin room, too.
Those who were near her cabin says that they could hear singing. This is what captured Skylar's attention since day one. "Maybe," he thought.
For the rest of that night, Skylar thought about a lot of things. First is what his grandfather had told him and the new friends that he met on the ship. "This is the beginning," Skylar said at last before falling asleep.
Finally, after three days, Captain Barclay spots land. "Land ahoy!" he announced to everyone, "And it is a land and, well, oh, how this is going to be a blast!" "There he goes again," Skylar said to Clipper with a chuckle, "I've told you that he gets too excited with these announcement."
Clipper had to agree. Immediately, the four friends got out onto one of the decks and started out at America. Also, Skylar brought Clipper out with him. He was careful not to let the sailors see him.
"Well," Skylar said, staring out at the new land, well, something like that, "This is it, we're starting a new journey here. We? I'm about to find out." "We is right!" Kaz exclaimed, tire bumping Skylar, "We're going together!"
"Hey!" Skylar cried, "Watch where you're hitting that thing!" "Sorry," Kaz replied. Also, Jinny and Spiritstrike were waiting too. Both look content. "I think it's a girls business," Kaz whispered to Skylar. "I agree," Skylar answered.
"Hey," Jinny said, "You got a nice plane." "Oh," Skylar said, "I named him Clipper. Clipper, meet Spiritstrike and Jinny." "Hello," Jinny said to the little plane. Spiritstrike just said in her cold voice, "Hi." This made Clipper nervous.
"Don't worry," Skylar said to the plane. "She's nice, once you get to know her," Jinny explained. "Yeah," Spiritstrike said coldly. "Yes, I've talked to her," Jinny explained. "Oh yes," Skylar said, "So we're docking at the harbour in the Chesapeake Bay." "You're right," Jinny said, "We'd better get ready-"
"Before the captain makes another announcement," Skylar said. "Right," Jinny replied. Just before the big ocean liner docked, Skylar then told Clipper, "Well, this is your stop. You may go if you want."
Clipper was happy to see land and prepared to fly off. "Take care, Clipper," Skylar said as the little plane had flown away. But as the little plane flew off, it was sad to leave Skylar. "We'll see each other again," Skylar called out, "Hopefully."
He felt sad about letting Clipper go like that, but he knew it was the right thing to do.
Finally, as soon as Captain Barclay had been docked safely, without running into anything, obviously, every car on board had gotten off the ocean liner and drove off in all directions.
Skylar looked at the new land. "This is where it begins," he said. His friends, Kaz, Spiritstrike and Jinny had gone off in their own directions. "Thanks, everyone," Skylar smiled.
The moment after Skylar got himself registered, he had left the docks and was about to hit the roads when he heard a familiar buzzing sound. "Clipper?" he thought. He is right, as it is the little plane he rescued on the ship a few days ago.
The little plane circled around Skylar, excited to see his friend again. "Wait a minute," Skylar said, "You like me?" The little plane circled around to say 'yes'. "So you want to come with me?" Skylar asked Clipper. The little plane agreed.
"Okay," Skylar said, "Welcome along!" And the little plane settled on top oh Skylar's cab. "Okay!" Skylar said to Clipper, "Get ready for an adventure!" With that said, Skylar with new plane companion, Clipper, set off together.
The other cars, Kaz, Spiritstrike and Jinny were also ready to start their new lives, too. But they didn't that they would immediately meet each other sooner than they thought.
