"The Vampire Strikes Back"

There were characters in this episode with accents. It makes it difficult to tell what they are saying. You can only rewind and watch the scene over and try to listen closely to what a person is saying so many times before you just give up. So, I'm sorry if some things aren't right. Please enjoy and review!

Getting a call from their old friends Luna, Dusk and Thorn, otherwise known as the popular Hex Girls and their Digimon partner Impmon, the gang became excited.

The trio of singers invited the gang to join them on set to watch them film their first music video.

Everyone happily piled into the Mystery Machine and took off for the town where the music video was being filmed, excited to see their old friends and see how the video was going to be put together.

Before she left, Daisuke "Daisy" Motomiya made sure she was wearing the necklace that Thorn had sent her for her birthday.

It was a pendulum made from rose quartz and it was on a silver chain.

Daisy loved it and wore it quite often much to the amusement of Veemon and her older sister Jun.

"Like, why are we in a creepy place already? Our vacations usually start out normal and end up creepy." Norville "Shaggy" Rogers commented.

It was raining heavily outside as the Mystery Machine drove through a small village which looked to be quite old and spooky in the gloomy atmosphere of the storm.

"We're only passing through this Transylvanian village on our way to an awesome old castle." Velma Dinkley reminded.

"Call it what you like, but old castle still rings creepy to me." Shaggy said, and Scooby nodded in agreement.

"Relax, Shaggy, the Hex Girls are shooting their new music video there. And I'm hoping they make me an extra." Daphne Blake smiled.

The redhead threw her arms up and posed while everyone else in the van gave her wary expressions, knowing that she was being a bit too eager.

"Uh, maybe you shouldn't push it, Daphne. It was nice enough that they invited us to watch the shoot." Fred Jones said.

"Yeah, I can't wait to hear the new song they're recording." Daisy leaned over the seat and shared a smile with her cousin.

"Let's just hope we can make it there safely. This rain is a safety hazard." Veemon commented.

Lightening then struck making Shaggy and Scooby whimper as they huddled together.

"Yeah, Fred, remind me to thank them for inviting us in this kind of weather." Shaggy frowned.

The Mystery Machine then pulled up in front of an old bridge that looked like it had seen better days and across from it was the castle.

"Like, if we turn back now, we can still hit strudel fest in Bavaria." Shaggy jabbed his thumb behind him.

"Ooh, strudel! Yum!" Scooby licked his lips.

"But the castle is just up ahead." Fred pointed.

"And between here and there is that rickety old bridge saying 'don't cross me, man'." Shaggy said with a serious expression.

"You know what I to that? Eat my tire tred, bridge." Fred smirked as he switched the van into forward and stepped on the accelerator.

"Are you insane?!" Veemon yelled.

Everyone cried out in fear and worry as the heavy Mystery Machine drove across the bridge, watching as the wood fell apart from under it.

Shaggy and Scooby looked at the window, staring fearfully at the sight of the river below them.

The cowardly duo cried out in fear and grabbed a snorkel and goggles, preparing themselves in case they ended up falling into the water which made the duo of Miracles sigh in disbelief at their friends.

Then again, with how rough the ride was and the way how the bridge was falling apart, perhaps it was possible they would end up drowning.

The group all prayed they would manage to make it to the castle before the bridge completely fell apart and sent them plunging into the river below them.

"Can I drive or what?" Fred grinned smugly when he managed to park the van in front of the castle just as the bridge crumbled into the water.

No one spoke as they tried to get over their shock of nearly drowning while Fred simply smiled, oblivious to the trauma his friends had gone through because of him.

As soon as the Mystery Machine drove up to the front of the castle, everyone was quick to jump out and run off inside to greet their old friends.

"I think I can hear them over that way." Veemon pointed.

"Lead the way, Vee." Daisy told him.

Nodding, the dragon took off into the castle and the gang were able to hear the voices of the three Eco Goths arguing with each other which took them by surprise.

Usually, the three best friends didn't argue about anything and were always in agreement with each other.

When they finally reached the three girls, they found them to be wearing wedding dresses.

Dusk, the girl with pale skin, blue painted lips, dark eyes and blonde hair tied up into pigtails looked distressed.

Luna, the dark-skinned girl with short orange-red hair, purple painted lips and dark eyes was frowning along with the leader of the group Thorn who had green eyes, long black hair with red highlights and red lips.

Standing at Thorn's side was a two feet tall purple doglike creature with green eyes, a white face and was wearing red scarf, red gloves and wore a bat necklace to match the one his partner wore.

"Are you insane? You want to keep shooting this video with that vampire freak on the loose? I barely got away from him!" Dusk exclaimed.

"We're gonna shoot this video with or without you!" Thorn pointed at Dusk.

"Go right ahead!" Dusk stormed off.

"Come on, girls, don't be that way." Impmon tried to defuse the situation, but Dusk had already left.

"I wonder what's going on with the Hex Girls." Velma mused.

"Oh, Dusk's dumping Thorn and Luna to go solo." Daphne stepped up beside her.

"What? There's no way." Daisy denied.

"How do you know that?" Velma asked.

"Popular Magazine. I never leave the States without it." Daphne said as she pulled a magazine out of her purse that had the Hex Girls on the cover.

"How do you fit so much stuff in that purse?" Veemon questioned as he wondered in Daphne was secretly a witch to accomplish that.

Spotting their old friends, Luna and Thorn happily ran over to them, pulling the three girls into a hug.

When Thorn was standing in front of Daisy, she pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her cheek making the raspberry haired girl blush.

"I'm so glad you guys are here. We could really use your help." Luna said after she pulled away from the hug.

"No problem! Where's my wedding dress and black finger nails?" Daphne asked eagerly.

"Cool it, Daph." Daisy elbowed her in the side gently.

Veemon and Impmon smiled at each other, performing their own special handshake they had crafted.

"The shoot is on hold since this rude vampire dude decided to crash it." Thorn explained.

Hearing the word vampire being spoken, Daisy tensed up as memories of Myotismon flittered across her mind.

Ever since she had met the vampire Digimon, she had grown a total hatred of all vampires.

"Okay, between rude and dude, did anybody else hear vampire?" Shaggy asked.

"Yep." Veemon nodded as Daisy seemed to be stewing over in anger.

Scooby whimpered and hid behind Shaggy.

"This scary vampire guy came out of nowhere, chased us all over and then disappeared." Luna explained.

"So, like, there's a creepy castle, a vampire on the loose…" Shaggy counted on his fingers.

He and Scooby whistled as they backed away, about to run out of the castle and escape from the situation they were now in.

They didn't get too far since they backed into a suit of armour and sent it crashing to the floor, making them cry out in fear and run off towards the cauldron in the fireplace to hide in.

"Still a couple of scaredy cats, eh?" Impmon sighed.

"There's no such thing as vampires, Shaggy, but it sounds like someone's trying to scare you out of here." Velma told the girls, which made them reel back in shock.

"Why would someone do that?" Luna asked.

"Someone's jealous of your fame and wants to break up the band. The castle has a hidden treasure, and someone wants to scare everyone away, so they can find it. Pick a reason." Daisy shrugged.

"That's what we're going to find out." Velma said placing a hand on Daisy's shoulder.

"And I know exactly what we need to do." Fred grinned.

"Split up?" Daphne asked.

"Nope. Set a trap." Fred stated.

Everyone stared at him in confusion and surprise.

"What? But you always want us to split up before you set a trap." Velma said.

"Really? Never noticed that." Fred shrugged as he walked off to gather supplies.

"That was weird." Veemon commented.

"No kidding. Guys, come on out of there. It's not safe to hide in a fireplace." Daisy called over to Shaggy and Scooby.

With the cauldron still on top of them, the duo walked on their hands and feet as they followed their friends to set a trap for the vampire.

(Later on…)

The trap was set up and Fred had chosen Daisy to play the bait much to her annoyance.

Thorn and Luna helped her into a wedding dress, slicked her lips with maroon lipstick, painted her nails black, placed a long black wig on her head and handed over a microphone before she walked out onto the set.

"This seriously sucks." Daisy grumbled.

"How come she gets to wear the dress?" Daphne pouted in jealousy.

"Because Shaggy doesn't have the hips for it." Fred said making Impmon and Veemon snicker while Shaggy and Daphne were stunned by what the blond told them.

As for Velma, she chose to ignore it and focus on the trap and be thankful that she wasn't forced into the dress.

"Daisy'll kill ya if she knows you took a picture of her." Impmon whispered to Veemon.

Veemon simply snickered evilly while Scooby shook his head at the dragon.

"Okay, Daisy, start singing." Fred whispered over to her.

Resisting the urge to roll her eyes at the blond, Daisy tapped the mic to make sure it was on before she started singing.

"Who do voodoo?

We do voodoo

We do

Who do voodoo

We do voodoo

We do, we do

We do, we do." She sang.

Growling was then heard, and she looked to her side to see that the vampire had appeared.

Glancing him up and down, Daisy frowned and placed her hands on her hips in disbelief.

"Oh, that is such a bad makeup job. I can totally tell you're wearing gloves with fake claws, too." Daisy stated.

Frowning at that, the vampire then opened his mouth to show off his fangs, but Daisy simply rolled her eyes and kicked him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground.

Turning, the DigiDestined of Miracles took off for where the trap was set up.

Getting to his feet, the vampire followed her into a room, and she paused in front of a stack of barrels, then jumped to the side just as he pounced.

The barrels were knocked down and the vampire clung to one of them as they rolled into a rope that was set up, which caused an axe to cut the rope and a curtain fell on top the man as he stood up.

Fred was quick to tie the vampire up while everyone gathered around, stunned that the trap had gone off without any issue.

"Your trap actually worked?" Velma voiced everyone's thoughts.

"Well, what part of fool proof didn't you understand?" Fred asked.

Daphne then pulled out cotton balls and makeup remover from her purse making everyone turn to the redhead.

"Like, I don't think now' the time for a makeover, Daph." Shaggy said as Scooby shook his head.

"There's always time for a makeover, especially when it's also an unmasking." Daphne said.

Kneeling down, she used the makeup remover on the vampire and cleaned away the face paint to reveal an attractive male face that was scowling underneath.

"Who is that?" Everyone gasped.

The Hex Girls, now dressed in their regular clothing, joined the team and Daisy was all too happy to shed off the wedding dress and wig, but she still had the black nails and maroon lipstick.

"Now why would a cutie like you want to ruin our video? Frustrated singer? Actor? Trick or treater?" Thorn asked as she listed the reasons off on her fingers.

"I don't have to tell you anything." The man snapped.

"Then allow me to fill in the blanks." Someone spoke up.

Turning around, the group saw a man walking over to them and it appeared that he knew the fake vampire.

"I am Owen de Castle and this is Steve Fortescu. I bought this place from Steven's parents, distant descendants of reputed vampire Bela Fortescu." The man explained.

"You mean you stole my family's pride. Stomped on our souls and now you're profiting off my legacy." Steven glared.

"As you can see, the boy has some…issues. Now, I will leave my castle to take him to the village where the authorities will deal with him." Owen said, and Steve stood.

"Um, Mr. de Castle? We just came that way. Sorry, but the bridge is out, and the road's all flooded." Fred informed.

"Then we're stuck here all night with the freaky Fortescu kid?" Shaggy asked as he was held in Scooby's arms as they shook in fear.

"I know a very safe place to keep him out of trouble." Owen smirked and gestured for everyone to follow him.

No one expected that Owen had meant a dungeon.

Being handed torches, the group walked down the stairs of the cold, dank castle and towards the dungeon where Steve would be held captive for the night.

As they walked down the stairs, Shaggy stopped at the sight of a skeleton chained to a wall.

"This is a safe place? Ha, ha! Like, I'm feeling a lot of things right now and safe isn't one of them." Shaggy said.

Scooby sniffed at the skeleton which made it slump forward.

Frightened, the duo took off running down the stairs and accidentally pushed Steve into the dungeon, then raced out and slammed the metal door behind them.

"You can lock me up, but that won't make a difference, old man. Your problems won't end with me. You want the real vampire." Steve then laughed manically.

"Why can't we ever meet any cute foreign guys who aren't…" Daisy trailed off.

"Insane in the membrane?" Veemon chirped.

"Insane, got no brain." Impmon added.

Both Digimon started snickering at each other while Thorn and Daisy shared amused expressions.

Veemon and Impmon always acted so silly when they were together.

"I don't want the real vampire; I want to go back upstairs!" Shaggy cried out and Scooby sobbed.

"And you will. As soon as I take care of one more thing." Owen told them.

Grabbing a noose, Owen pulled it and revealed it to be a bell.

Then, a man that reminded the group far too much of Igor from the Frankenstein movies appeared.

"You called, master?" He asked.

Yelping in fright, Scooby and Shaggy jumped into the air in fright, and then landed in the man's arms.

"Regfield, why don't you show these nice people to their rooms. And make sure they are all…comfortable." Owen instructed.

"Youch! Get off of me, man!" Shaggy jumped up and started scratching at himself.

He turned around to reveal a bug on his shirt and Regfield gently retrieved it.

"Bad beetle! My apologies. Max must have wriggled out of his leash." Regfield said.

He pulled out a leash and hooked it around the beetle, then proceeded to walk it.

The gang then followed Regfield as he lead them to the rooms they would be staying in while the Hex Girls went off to their own with Impmon following behind them.

"Uh, Mr. Regfield, sir? If you don't mind me asking, how long have you worked here?" Velma questioned.

"I've given my LIFE to this castle. It used to be a serene place filled with glorious chamber music. None of this ear bleeding garbled garbage that they dare call MUSIC!" Regfield yelled making everyone jump in surprise at the anger in his voice.

"Think I hit a sore spot." Velma commented.

"I feel like our grandparents would feel the same way about this generation's music." Daisy shrugged.

Fred and Velma then walked into the rooms that were shown as theirs before Regfield gestured for the others to follow and ran off.

Daphne was shown her room next.

"Hmm, not a hideous space, but positively void of personality." Daphne mused.

Redgfield then showed Shaggy and Scooby to their room.

When the hippy and his dog walked inside, they exclaimed in shock at the sight of the insects covering the bed.

"Uh, that doesn't look like a mint on my pillow. Like, I think those beds are already taken, Scoob." Shaggy pointed at the beetles.

Peering down at the number of beetles scuttling on the mattress, Scooby gave a full body shudder of disgust.

"Okay, so, it may not be a fancy hotel with bug free beds and tiny soaps, ha-ha! But at least we're safe from that creepy vampire." Shaggy said as he shook off a pillow and curled up on the floor.

Scooby laid down to sleep as well while Daisy and Veemon were shown to their own bedroom, hoping that their sleeping quarters would be in better condition.

(That night…)

Thunder boomed and lightening lit up the sky as everyone in the castle slept peacefully.

Feeling a cold breeze from her window, Daphne awoke and was shocked to see a shadowed figure creeping towards her.

When lightening struck, it lit up the room and revealed the familiar face of a vampire standing over her, hissing.

Daphne let out a scream that awoke her cousin and friends who all quickly rushed out of their beds, racing towards the distressed redhead's room.

Daisy, Veemon, Fred, Velma, Impmon, Thorn and Luna all ran into the room.

Shaggy and Scooby ended up slipping on the clothing that Daphne had left on the floor, and they skidded across the room, knocking into the vampire who was thrown out of the window from the impact.

"Uh, sorry, Mr. Vampire." Shaggy said as he and Scooby peered out the window.

Daisy rushed to Daphne's side and pulled her cousin into a hug before everyone rushed to the window, searching for the body of the vampire, but it was gone.

"Where'd it go?" Velma asked.

"Hey, what's going on in here?" Dusk demanded as she walked into the room making everyone turn to look at the blonde.

"Your vampire crasher made an unscheduled guest appearance in my room." Daphne informed.

"Ugh, what a creep!" Impmon exclaimed.

"Daphne, were you able to get a good look at the vampire?" Velma questioned.

"You bet I did. There's no doubt it was Steve Fortescu!" Daphne said stunning everyone.

"But that's impossible! He's locked up in the dungeon." Fred stated.

"Are we sure about that?" Daisy asked.

Sharing a look, the Mystery gang snuck down to the dungeon to check the situation out for themselves.

Peering around the wall, Fred and Daphne saw Owen was standing guard at the cage while Steve was sitting on stool, arms crossed and expression grim.

"Now wait a minute. Steve's still sitting right in that cell where we left him? I don't get it." Daphne frowned.

Coming up with a theory, Scooby then fixed his appearance to resemble a bat and acted out what he believed happened.

"Maybe, Scoob. Maybe when Mr. de Castle bent down to tie his shoe, Steve turned into a bat and flew out between the bars." Shaggy guessed.

He then peered around the wall to take in the sight of Owen and was disappointed when he saw that his theory was proven wrong.

"Scratch that, Mr. de Castle's wearing slippers." Shaggy informed.

"Just because Steve is in that jailcell now, doesn't mean he wasn't able to get out earlier." Velma said.

"So, you agree with our bat theory?" asked Shaggy.

"No. I think somebody's been letting Steve out." Velma stated.

"Someone's working with him?" Daisy frowned.

"Velma's right. That must be it. That's the only way he could be in two places at once." Fred grinned.

"Or he has a twin brother who's roaming around while Steve is locked up." Veemon suggested.

Everyone turned to stare down at the blue dragon in surprise.

"What're the chances of that?" Daisy wondered.

"Guess we'll just have to find out. Now, let's split up and search for clues." Fred said.

"I knew that would come up sooner or later." Velma mused.

To be continued…
