Chapter 6: Great Vengeance
Peter's blood went cold as he couldn't believe what he just heard and that's when noticed the blood stains on his aunt's shirt and realized it was his uncle's blood.
"H-he's been shot?" He choked out.
"Somebody broke in and shot him, then took his keys and drove off in his car. And by the time I got back from the store, I found him there on the kitchen floor bleeding, so I quickly called an ambulance after checking his pulse and they came and took him to the hospital." May clarifies.
Minutes later, Peter and May are both sitting on the couch and Peter trying his best to console his aunt, while he himself is still trying to reel in this revelation.
Just then, a man came into the house, he looks to be in his early forties, has blonde hair and a goatee, dull blue eyes, is wearing a blue suit with a red tie and white dress shirt underneath, with black shoes. He looked to be one of the detectives in this crime scene.
"Excuse me, are you May Parker?" The man says getting the attention of both Peter and May.
"Yes, that's me!" She answers.
"My name is Captain George Stacy of the New York police department!" He introduces himself.
'Stacy? He must be Gwen's dad!' Peter thought remembering Gwen's dad being a police captain.
"I'm here to inform you about your husband's current condition!" George says.
"Oh dear Lord, please tell me he's going to be okay!" May says, still hysterical.
George is hesitant for a second before speaking "Mrs. Parker, there is no easy way to say this, so I'll just just be frank with you… by the time the ambulance arrived at the hospital, your husband went into cardiac arrest, I'm terribly sorry, but he didn't make it!"
"NOOOOOO!" May screams in anguish.
She and Peter both embrace each other again. Peter is trying his best to comfort his distraught aunt while tears start pouring out of his own eyes.
"I promise you both, we will find the man responsible and bring him to justice!" Captain Stacy vows.
Just then, an officer calls Captain Stacy's name and they go over to the next room, Peter uses his enhanced hearing to listen in on their conversation.
"Captain, we just received word that someone matching the description of our suspect in Ben Parker's murder was just spotted robbing a liquor store on 39th street and is driving his stolen vehicle and is currently at an abandoned warehouse down at 7th avenue, they're requesting backup right now." The officer informs him.
"Alright, let's get down there!" Captain Stacy says.
After hearing everything, Peter runs upstairs to his room leaving behind a very confused Aunt May.
"Peter? Peter, where are you going?" She asks.
"It's okay ma'am, kids take these things the hardest, he just needs to find a way to let it all out!" A female officer says
Inside his room, Peter grabs his backpack and pulls out his costume. With all the emotions going through him right now, there was one thing he was feeling as he stared at his mask, and that was rage.
'As soon as I find this guy, I'm going to make him pay for what he's done!' he thought in fury.

Somewhere in the city…
Cops are stationed outside an old abandoned warehouse by the docks ready to bust the door down at any moment. Captain Stacy is standing front and center with a megaphone in hand.
"Attention Dennis Caradine, we have the place completely surrounded, come out with your hands up, or we will come in by force if necessary!" He says through the megaphone.
Inside, there is a man all dressed in black and wearing a ski mask with a gun in hand. He is currently hiding behind a bunch of wooden crates trying to form a plan of escape.
"Gotta find a way outta here, or the cops will be all over me!" Dennis mutters to himself.
"Oh trust me, the cops are the very least of your worries right now!" A voice was heard.
Caradine looks up and sees a person sticking to the side of the wall, with his hands and feet. It's Peter dressed up in his wrestling costume.
"What the fuck?!" Dennis says shocked.
"Murderer!" Peter says in a dark tone.
'OH MY GOD!" Dennis shouts.
Panicked, Caradine starts shooting at Peter, who easily dodges every bullet without a scratch. The gunshots are heard from outside and the cops immediately react to the sound.
"GET DOWN!" Captain Stacy yells.
He and the other officers quickly take cover behind their squad cars completely unaware of what's happening inside. Meanwhile, Caradine runs out of bullets and Peter jumps right in front of him. Caradine tries to hit him with his gun, but Peter blocks him and punches him in the face, sending him back a few feet. Peter runs up to Caradine, grabs him by the shirt punches him a few times, then throws him across the room, making him crash into a bunch of crates.
"No…please…stop!" A now bruised and bloody Dennis breathes out.
"I'm going to make you suffer for what you've done!" Peter snarls as he walks over to Caradine and lifts him up again.
"NO, PLEASE HAVE MERCY!" Dennis cries out.
"MERCY? DID YOU SHOW ANY FUCKING MERCY WHEN YOU SHOT AN INNOCENT MAN AND STOLE HIS CAR!?" Peter roars in fury.
"PLEASE, I'M SORRY, I WAS DESPERATE, DON'T DO THIS!" Dennis begs pitifully.
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU'RE SORRIES, I JUST WANNA HEAR YOU SCREAM!" Peter yells with the intent to kill.
With that, Peter rips off the ski mask, but stops in his tracks completely stunned after the man's face is revealed. It was the same thief, who robbed the fight promoter's office after winning the match against Crusher, the one that he let escape.
"No it can't be,... You're the guy from before!" Says a still stunned Peter.
"Please…you can't do this!" Dennis says before slipping into unconsciousness.
Peter lets Caradine go, making him fall to the floor. Peter just stands there frozen, looking at the unconscious man on the floor. He immediately snaps out of it, when his spider-sense shows him what's happening outside, a SWAT team has just arrived and one of them is carrying a battering ram. Knowing what's about to happen, Peter quickly jumps and crawls up to an open window and escapes before the door is busted down and the place is completely raided. Captain Stacy enters the scene and sees an unconscious Caradine, he walks over to him and checks his pulse.
"He's still alive, quickly someone get a medic!" He orders.
'What the hell happened here?' He thought.

Elsewhere…
Peter is now sitting on top of an empty building and curled up in a corner with his face buried to his knees. After realizing that he inadvertently caused his uncle's death, he breaks down into tears and is completely distraught.
"Oh God, what have I done?... He went right past me, and I just let him go…. I should've stopped him when I had the chance, and now because of me-" he continues sobbing "oh Uncle Ben, I'm so sorry!"
