Jyn and Finn have been sent back to a few years after the Clone Wars. They have been training for the past six months with Jedi Purge survivors, Mace Windu, Xelena Sev, and Jyn's mother, Lyra Erso. Jyn and Finn also have occasional help from the force ghost of Revan. After working very hard to get back in shape, Finn is now ready for his final test.

Finn is now with Mace at the entrance to the obstacle course, a canyon filled with rows of stone pillars, which must be crossed to gain access to the ancient vault on the other side.

"You have practiced this many times, and you have improved with each attempt. To continue your journey, you must gain access to Master Tiel's vault." Mace says.

"And to open the vault, I have to make it across." Finn says.

"Exactly. I've sent Xelena ahead, and she will assist you once you are on the other side. Proceed whenever you're ready." Mace says.

Mace activates the obstacle course, and the rows of stone pillars begin to move up and down randomly. Finn steps out to the first pillar. He maintains his balance, jumping from pillar to pillar as they rise and fall randomly. Eventually, he reaches the last pillar, and his goal is just a short distance away- the vault door. Xelena, standing in front of the door, gives Finn a reassuring nod. Finn closes his eyes, then jumps across, landing directly in front of the door. Xelena runs to him and gives him a brief congratulatory hug.

"Told you you could do it!" Xelena says.

"I… finally made it." Finn says.

"I think you always could do it. You just had to believe in yourself to make it happen." Xelena says.

"Along with a lot of exercise. With your help, of course. Thanks for that." Finn says.

"You're welcome. Now, let's get a look inside this vault, shall we?" Xelena asks.

"I'm ready whenever you are." Finn answers.

"Go ahead and walk up to the door. It'll open on its own." Xelena says.

Finn walks up to the vault door, and it opens immediately.

"This is your quest. I'm just here to show you around the vault and answer any questions you might have. Assuming it's a question I can answer." Xelena says.

"I appreciate that." Finn says.

"Well… after you." Xelena says.

Finn and Xelena enter the vault, which turns out to be a circular room containing shelves of holocrons along the walls, and a small table in the center. On this table are several white crystals, and a large hammer that appears to be made of stone.

"These holocrons are all over twenty thousand years old. The personal journals of ancient Jedi Masters… preserved here forever." Xelena says.

"It's a museum." Finn says. He walks around, looking at the holocrons.

"Essentially yes. Master Windu and I spend a lot of time in here… learning. Well, trying to learn anyway. There's so much here… it would take a century to go through all of it. We found this place a little over a year ago… and I've only gotten through four of the holocrons. So, I've barely scratched the surface." Xelena says.

Finn walks to the table, and looks at the hammer.

"So… that's it. What are these things? Lightsaber crystals?" Finn asks, taking notice of the crystals on the table.

"No. Those are Dai-Bendu meditation crystals." Xelena answers.

"Meditation crystals? How do they work?" Finn asks.

"I actually don't know. Master Windu and I can't use them. According to Revan, only those that the Whills consider worthy are able to use them." Xelena answers.

"The Whills…. right. Those other dimension people that Revan told us about." Finn says.

"A race of people that… are way beyond our comprehension… apparently watching over all of us, and making sure that things happen the way that they think they're supposed to. I'm not sure whether to be grateful or scared." Xelena says.

The force ghost of Revan appears.

"You still have your doubts. I can understand that. Let me try to put this in words the best that I can. The Whills… don't have absolute control. They're caretakers. The Force… has its own will. The Whills just make sure events play out as the Force intends. They train us to be their agents, so that we can guide you." Revan says.

"So… you talk to these Whills." Finn says.

"Yes, but there's a lot more to it. The Whills can speak to us, but rarely do. They prefer to communicate with thoughts and images." Revan says.

"Other dimensional beings that we can't see… sounds way above my pay grade." Finn says.

"Wait… you guys get paid now?" Revan asks.

"It's just an expression." Finn answers.

"I know. I'm messing with you, kid. Don't have to be so serious all the time." Revan says.

"That's what I'm always telling him." Xelena says.

"You were asking about the crystals, Finn? I think I can help out with that. As a matter of fact, the crystals are part of your next lesson." Revan says.

"Are these things going to help me get the hammer?" Finn asks.

"The crystals… are how you get the hammer." Revan answers.

"How do these crystals fit in?" Finn asks.

"The crystals… are a very rare form of Kyber Crystal. Not meant for lightsabers. They're meditation crystals… or phasing crystals as they were sometimes called. The ancient Dai-Bendu used them on Tython thousands of years ago. Whoever had one of these crystals could shift themselves to other dimensions, able to make themselves invisible to everyone else if they went far enough out of phase. However, they only work for those that the Whills consider worthy." Revan says.

"Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just so someone can meditate in private." Finn says.

"Yeah. It's a pain in the ass. Of course, I never really liked to meditate anyway." Revan says.

"You and me both." Finn says.

"But… it's got to be done." Revan says.

"Yeah… I guess you're right." Finn says.

"So… that's it. These crystals are how Master Tiel took the hammer out of phase." Xelena says.

"Exactly. One of the ancient masters appeared to her and trained her." Revan says.

"These crystals… phasing into other dimensions. Those are things… we shouldn't be able to do." Xelena says.

"You're afraid." Revan says.

"You're damn right I'm afraid! But… I'm not supposed to be. This is really hard for me. Jedi aren't supposed to feel fear." Xelena says.

"Says who?" Revan asks.

"Every master I've ever known. They say fear is the path to the dark side." Xelena answers.

"Wrong. A single feeling cannot lead you to the dark side. Bad choices lead you to the dark side. Fear can lead to anger, but only if you allow it to. Feeling fear is not the path to the dark side. Fear… is a part of life." Revan says.

"What am I supposed to do?" Xelena asks.

"Only you can answer that. But, I can make a suggestion." Revan answers.

"I'm all ears." Xelena says.

"You can either suppress the fear, as the Jedi teach you, keep it with you forever, or… overcome it. You're the only one that can make that choice." Revan says.

"This… sounds like a lesson." Xelena says.

"It is. You've had your doubts. You question why things happen the way they do. You think you don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. To that I say… you're a part of this too. Everything happens for a reason, and you're right where you're supposed to be." Revan says.

"It sucks that all of your friends died. I'm sorry for that. But you lived. You're here. Now. Everything we're doing… leads to the end of the Sith. Forever. That's gotta be worth it, right?" Finn asks.

"Yeah." Xelena answers.

"I used to be scared. I doubted myself. But I overcame that. You can too. All you have to do… is choose." Finn says.

"I choose… to overcome my fear." Xelena says.

"Good. Because once Finn has the hammer, he's going back to his own time…. And you'll be going with him." Revan says.

"I'm… going with him?" Xelena asks.

"The Empire is going to find this place in a month. You and Mace… will be long gone. Your life in this time is over. You'll help in the final fight against Umbra, then… after that… you live whatever life you choose. This is your destiny. Always has been." Revan says.

"Then… I'm looking forward to it. Looks like Finn has some work to do. You want me to go?" Xelena asks.

"No. You can stay. Don't you want to see this thing in action?" Revan asks.

"Yeah." Xelena answers.

"That's what I've thought. You've always been a curious one." Revan says.

"I like to learn. Nothing wrong with that, is there?" Xelena asks.

"Absolutely not. You hunger for knowledge. You seek to better yourself. I think that's why the Whills have placed this path before you." Revan answers.

"Then, I'll do my best." Xelena says.

"I know. Now, what do you say we get started?" Revan asks, looking at Finn.

"What do I need to do here?" Finn asks.

"First thing's first… grab that big white crystal." Revan answers.

Finn does as instructed, grabbing the crystal from the table in front of him.

"How do I use this thing anyway?" Finn asks.

"Think it. Command the crystal with your mind. Tell it that you want to shift to the same dimension as the hammer." Revan answers.

FInn closes his eyes and concentrates. The crystal begins to glow. A brief, musical tone is heard, stopping after a few seconds. The crystal stops glowing.

"Okay. You can open your eyes now." Revan says. Finn opens his eyes.

"Did it work?" Finn asks.

"One way to find out." Xelena answers. She walks to Finn, and reaches out toward him. Her hand passes right through him

"Wow. That's freaky." Finn says.

"Yeah. I still felt you. Kind of. It's like you're there but you're not. If that makes any sense." Xelena says. Finn looks at Revan.

"This is weird." Finn says.

"Weird to you, but this used to be normal for the Dai-Bendu." Revan says.

"So… that's it? I'm in the hammer dimension now?" Finn asks.

"See for yourself. Reach for the hammer." Revan answers.

"Is it safe to put this down? It won't go through the floor will it?" Finn asks.

"No. It'll be fine. You're only slightly out of phase. Just enough to interact with the hammer. Go ahead whenever you're ready." Revan answers.

Finn puts the crystal on the table in front of him. After a moment of hesitation, he reaches for the hammer, and soon feels it in his hand.

"I feel it!" Finn says.

"Go ahead and pick it up." Revan says.

Finn picks up the hammer. Despite the weapon's size, he is able to maneuver it easily with one hand.

"Wow." Xelena says.

"Not as heavy as it looks." Finn says.

"You have passed the final test. The hammer is yours now." Revan says.

"That means…. It's time for us to go back." Finn says.

"That's right. But first, you need to return to the proper dimension." Revan says.

"Right." Finn says.

"Same as before. Just think it." Revan says. Finn picks up the crystal with one hand, while holding the hammer in the other. He closes his eyes again, and concentrates. The crystal starts to glow, and the musical tone sounds again.

Meanwhile, Jyn, Lyra, and Mace are waiting in the training room. Eventually, Finn and Xelena appear. In Finn's hand is the newly acquired hammer.

"Finally! Now we can go back!" Jyn says.

Suddenly, a glowing round portal appears.

"Looks like our ride's here." Finn says.

"For all of us." Xelena says.

"Wait… they're coming with us?" Jyn asks.

"Yeah. Revan said they were supposed to." Finn answers.

"Indeed. Our time here is over." Mace says.

"If we're leaving, we need to seal the passage to the vault and collapse the cave entrance! Revan said the Empire's going to find this place in a month!" Xelena says.

"Then, we need to do more than that. We need to destroy everything. Even the holocrons." Mace says.

"Are you sure about that? All that knowledge?" Xelena asks.

"We have no choice. I can't risk Palpatine getting his hands on it." Mace answers.

"You're right. If we have to choose between the Emperor getting all of that knowledge, and no one getting it, I choose no one." Xelena says.

"You could probably save a few of the holocrons. However many you can carry." Mace says.

"I'll get right on it." Xelena says.

"We'll have to leave the rest behind." Mace says.

"The question is… which ones do we take?" Xelena asks.

"I'll help you pick." Revan says, as he reappears.

"Okay then. Let's go." Xelena says.

Xelena returns a few minutes later, carrying a large gray satchel.

"Grabbed as many as I could. Twelve… out of two hundred." Xelena says.

"Better than none." Jyn says.

"Indeed." Mace says.

"So… what now? You said something about destroying this place?" Finn asks.

"We've rigged the cavern entrance with explosives in several places. We'll collapse the entire route. No one will be able to get in here without excavating equipment." Mace answers.

"What about your house? The lab?" Jyn asks.

"We'll destroy that too." Xelena answers.

"We will save one thing. I had Xelena make a copy of Master Tiel's logs. We'll be taking that with us. We'll have to erase the originals and destroy all of the computers.." Mace says.

"Anyone that manages to get in here will only find a cave full of old machine parts and destroyed computers." Xelena says.

"Sounds like you're well prepared for this." Jyn says.

"A necessary part of being on the run. Leave no trace." Mace says.

"And don't let them catch you." Jyn says.

"Exactly. Xelena, go ahead and erase the logs, then activate the charges." Mace says.

"On it." Xelena says.

Xelena leaves to set the explosives, and returns a few minutes later.

"The charges are set to go off in ten minutes. We don't want to be here when they do." Xelena says.

"Then, let's get out of here!" Finn says.

"Not just yet. I'm carrying a satchel full of holocrons, and a disk with a copy of Master Tiel's logs. I'm not sure it's the smartest idea to be going into a fight with a Sith Lord with all this stuff. Won't we have to worry about her trying to steal it?" Xelena asks. Revan reappears.

"You can keep the holocrons in the world between worlds until Umbra is defeated. It'll be safe there." Revan says.

"I guess we could do that." Xelena says.

"Then, it's settled." Mace says.

"Looks like you have everything in order here. Go ahead and enter the portal whenever you're ready. I'll meet you on the other side." Revan says.

"Understood." Mace says. Revan bows, then vanishes.

"Well… I guess we're ready. I suggest we get to it." Jyn says.

"May the force be with us." Mace says.

Everyone nods in agreement, then enters the portal.
