Hello, friends, readers, avid anime lovers!

My name is Jess, and I'm one of the authors of this story.

It's been a long time, huh? Sierra (my best friend and co-author) wrote this fanfic for fun back in… 2009 or so, during the peak of our One Piece days.

And yes, I DID watch the live-action One Piece on Netflix and loved every moment of it.

It's now—at the time of this addition—2023, and I would like to share something with you all.

Sierra and I published a book. A real book.

Frost and Sunshine by J.S. Alexandria

Available wherever books are sold: Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Waterstones, everywhere.

Frost and Sunshine has a lot of elements that anime fans will love: Asian Fantasy, modern setting, angsty romance, magic, characters you will want to die on the sword for, martial arts.

Here is the back cover summary:

"Once the fae—once the Silver Valley Council—wants you," Roger lifted his eyes to Slate, "they will stop at nothing until they have you."

Welcome to Faerloch, Germany, the City of Wonder, where magic thrives deep within a modern metropolis.

Daniella O'Callaghan has a unique talent, a secret talent known to only a few in the hidden world of Lorekind. But the world of the Lore can be a dangerous one, something Dani knows firsthand. With the exception of a witch and a vampire for best friends, she's managed to keep her life almost normal.

That all changes when she meets Slate Melisande, a human who suddenly finds the fae hot on his heels. He is as charming as he is clueless of the Lore and its dangers. Logic tells her to walk away, but Slate and his wicked humor ignite a heat inside her that burns away her resolve to stay away from anything involving the dangerous fae.

As the mystery surrounding Slate unravels, Dani finds herself balanced on a precipice, caught between the nightmares of her past and the promise of a future worth any risk. Dani and Slate are soon embroiled in an unexpected faerietale that may not have a happy ending.

After all, in the City of Wonder, there's always a little magic in myth.

And magic can be dangerous.

If you loved this One Piece fanfiction, consider checking out Frost and Sunshine. Its sequel—Summer and Snow—will be releasing in 2024.

And I want to say one last thing before I go—Sierra and I got into writing through fanfiction, and our love and passion for characters, imagination, adventure, and magic has given us amazing opportunities. If you are an aspiring writer and all you want to write is fanfiction… do it. Do not let anyone ever tell you that writing fanfiction is stupid and pointless. Be passionate. Be bold. Be brave. And write.

And to all the readers, all the people who have read this fanfiction and commented and favorited—you are the first ever readers. You are the encouragement and support that springboarded Sierra and I into original stories and into the magical world of publishing, of holding a physical book that we wrote in our hands. Thank you for those early years of support. You are all incredible human beings.

Thank you.
