Chapter 6 Growing Up

AN: Sorry I didn't have Kaos in the last chapter, these chapters are getting really long and I can't put everyone in the same chapter.

As Kaos sank his teeth into the taco, an explosion of flavours danced upon his palate, a symphony of tastes that seemed to resonate through his entire being. The smoky tenderness of the meat, the sharp crunch of the onions, harmonised with the creamy richness of queso fresco. The salsa provided a zesty counterpoint, setting his taste buds ablaze with a lively tang. In that moment, the world around him faded, leaving only him and the taco—a divine communion of tastes and textures that transcended the ordinary. Each subsequent bite revealed a new layer of flavour, a sensation to be cherished and savoured.

Malefor inquired about the taco, and Kaos responded with a nonchalant, "It's okay."

A flicker of hurt crossed Malefor's features, a subtle wince, almost imperceptible as he continued to savour his own celestial bite. Despite the apparent disappointment, he pressed on. "So, you're interested in the whereabouts of Spyro's parents. It's intriguing, considering I believed them all to be dead. But that theory no longer holds water after witnessing him fluttering about my lair with my daughter, brainwashing her into a do-gooder." Cynder maintained a false smile as she nibbled at her taco.

"So do you know where they are or not?" Asked Kaos as he ate another taco.

"Kind of, though I don't know if they're still alive or not."

"You don't know? What's the point of coming here if you don't know?"

"I have a few ideas where they could be hiding, but I'll need your help. Before the incident, they created a magical barrier so I couldn't get to some of their realms. They most likely kept these barriers up in fear of my arrival. Cynder who is my own fresh and blood also can't get past those barriers but you can. I'll need you to enter those realms and disabled their barriers."

Malefor wore a knowing smile, as if he had anticipated Kaos question. "Ah, my friend, that's where the fun begins. You see, while you may not be a dragon, there's a nifty little trick I've got up my sleeve."

- Scene Change -

Peril and Stealth Elf met up with Coco and Mipha at the academy. Where Stealth Elf welcomed them to their new home. As Peril steped onto the grounds of the Skylanders Academy for the first time, her eyes widen with wonder and amazement. The academy stood tall and imposed, a grand edifice nestled against the backdrop of a lush, vibrant landscape. The structure itself exudes an air of both strength and elegance, its architecture a harmonious blend of ancient and modern elements.

Massive stone pillars rise from the ground, flanking the entrance with an air of solemnity. Each pillar is adorned with intricate carvings depicting legendary battles and heroic figures, their stories etched into the very foundation of the academy. The stonework, weathered by time, carries an aura of history and reverence.

The entrance opens up into a grand courtyard, paved with smooth, worn cobblestones. Lush greenery surrounds the area, with carefully tended gardens bursting with an array of vibrant, exotic flora. The scent of blooming flowers mingles with the earthy fragrance of the surrounding forest, creating a heady, invigorating atmosphere.

Towers of varying heights stretch towards the sky, their spires reaching for the heavens. Each tower seems to house its own secrets, its windows gleaming with the faint light of knowledge and power within. Banners bearing the symbols of legendary Skylanders flutter in the gentle breeze, a testament to the heroes who have trained within these walls.

The central courtyard is a hive of activity, with Skylanders of all shapes and sizes going about their business. Some engage in training exercises, their movements a graceful dance of combat and discipline. Others gather in animated clusters, sharing stories and laughter, forming bonds forged through countless adventures.

In the distance, Peril spots the academy's training grounds—a sprawling expanse equipped with various obstacle courses, combat arenas, and magical training areas. The sound of clashing weapons and the occasional burst of elemental magic fills the air, a symphony of dedication and skill.

As Peril takes in the sight, she can't help but feel a sense of awe and belonging wash over her. The academy feels like a living, breathing entity, a place where heroes are born and destinies are forged. It's a realm where the potential for greatness hangs in the air, tangible and electrifying.

In this moment, Peril knew that she's not just stepping into a school; she's entering a realm of endless possibilities, surrounded by allies who share a common purpose. The Skylanders Academy is more than just a place of learning—it's a sanctuary for those who dare to stand against the darkness, and Peril is ready to embrace every challenge it offers.

Stealth Elf showed everyone to their dorm. It's a small place, there are five rooms, one for each member but since Fluffkins doesn't need a whole bunch of space Stealth Elf said they could tear down a wall to create one big room if need be. Coco told them they'll keep it as a storage place for now.

Stealth Elf clapped her hands together as she squelead with excitement. "This is going to be so much fun! Sorry we couldn't find any other Skylanders to to create a full five person team but I'm sure you'll be able to fill that spot in no time. Get to know each other now because tomorrow…" Stealth Elf took out a piece of paper. "Cullen is teaching you!" Stealth Elf felt a bit down as she wanted to spend more time with the other girls. She tried to hide her disappointment but failed. "It's fine, I'm sure Master Eon has his reasons. Anyway, it looks like Commander Cullen will be teaching you all how to fight tomorrow so make sure you rest well for that. Any questions?"

None of them said anything so Stealth Elf wished them well before disappearing. When she was gone, Coco asked everyone question. "So, we should get to know each other but the writer of this fic doesn't want to write any of that, so you know what that means? Montague time!"

With the sun casting a warm golden hue over the academy grounds, Peril, Coco, and Mipha embarked on a journey of camaraderie and laughter. The trio quickly found themselves in a series of light-hearted adventures that solidified their newfound friendship. First, they decided to explore the academy's enchanted gardens. Mipha's affinity for nature shone through as she shared her knowledge of the various plants and flowers that thrived within the lush greenery. Coco's tech-savvy nature led to playful debates on how to create an automated watering system, while Peril contributed with amusing anecdotes about her fiery encounters with particularly stubborn thorns.

Next, they ventured to the training grounds, where Peril and Coco couldn't resist the urge to test their mettle against each other. Their sparring match was a whirlwind of sparks and quick reflexes, with each move met by a well-timed counter. Mipha watched in awe, her healing abilities on standby just in case, and offered gentle encouragement to both combatants. As the day progressed, they found themselves at the edge of a tranquil pond, its surface reflected the colours of the setting sun. Coco, always the curious one, shared stories of her adventures in realms beyond, regaling them with tales of strange creatures and ingenious inventions. Mipha listened intently, her eyes sparkled with fascination, while Peril chimed in with her own daring escapades and narrow escapes.

Their laughter echoed through the academy corridors as they discovered a hidden room filled with dusty relics and forgotten treasures. Coco's eyes gleamed with excitement at the sight of forgotten gadgets, Mipha marvelled at the craftsmanship of ancient artifacts, and Peril couldn't resist playfully trying on an old knight's helmet, much to the amusement of her newfound friends. In the evening, they gathered around a crackling fire and shared stories and dreams under the starlit sky. Coco's Minccino, Fluffkins, curled up contentedly in her lap, a silent observer of the newfound bonds forming before him. Mipha's soothing presence seemed to draw them all closer, her wisdom and kindness created a sense of trust and unity among them.

As the night grew darker, Peril couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude and belonging wash over her. She looked at Coco and Mipha, the stars reflected in their eyes, and knew that she had found something truly special—a friendship forged in the fires of adventure and shared experiences. With a smile, Peril leaned back, basking in the warmth of the fire and the company of her new friends. In that moment, the academy felt less like a school and more like a home—a place where bonds were forged, laughter echoed, and the promise of new adventures danced on the horizon.
