Hurricane, Utah
Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex.
3:30 P.M.
Nixus woke up to the sound of someone knocking on his door. Realizing he fell asleep on his couch again watching Soaps, he slowly dragged himself up, groaning as his bones made their own special rendition of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Slowly making his way to the door with a grimace on his face, he looked out the peep-hole.
"Vess? Lewis? The hell are they doing here?" He grumbled. Opening the door, he faced the two intruders to his nap.
"Hey, Nixus!" Lewis waved. Nixus noticed now that he was lugging a fast food bag and a bottle of wine.
"Morning, Nixus. Stopping by to see if you want to hitch along to a company party the higher ups are hosting." Vanessa explained, still wearing the exact same outfit she's been wearing since he started working at the Pizzaplex. I mean, he had no legs to stand on in that front, still wearing purple button ups and jeans, but he at least had like, 30 different pairs of em'.
"We're bringing some wine and burgers, Jerry's bringing some films, and Maria's bringing some cool dishes her mom made before she moved over from Korea!"
Nixus silently reached into his pocket for his phone, checking the time, and the single message he actually had.
"You mean the company function that was just canceled because Maria brought a bucket of Kimchi?"
Vanessa gave him a confused look, pulling her own phone out and looking at the same message he got. "... Oh son of a Bitch!"
Lewis looked sick. "Does that mean we gotta make that three hour drive again?" He gave Nixus a silent look of desperation. "I don't think I can survive Vess's driving for another three hours dude."
Nixus chuckled, while Vanessa shot Lewis a nasty glare. "Well, I guess y'all can come in to make up for it, if you don't mind sharing lunch." He winked, though neither of his co-workers could see it, on part of his hair being so damn long. "Payment for waking me up on our only Holiday."
Vanessa shrugged, while Lewis gave him a look that regarded him as a Savior. Nixus stepped aside and let them in, and the two had to admit, they weren't expecting what they saw.
Nixus's house was surprisingly comfortable for their pay grade. Stepping inside put them in the Living Room, a simple yet warmly lit room with a massive tv on one wall, and weirdly biblical art on the walls around it. In the middle was a large curved couch.
Looking closer, Vanessa realized that the biblical paintings were parodies of famous art, but with the lovable cast from Freddy's replacing key icons. Like Freddy taking Jesus's place in the Last Supper.
Nixus noticed her confused and bewildered looks. "Painted those back when I smoked weed to deal with some chronic joint pain. When I came down, I found the paintings so damn funny that I just had to keep 'em around."
"It's… certainly something, man." Lewis mumbled, setting the food down in the marble island in the kitchen, one room over to the right. Nixus simply laughed, and slumped into his couch.
"Take a seat wherever, just bring some food over."
Lewis dragged over a chair from the kitchen, tossing Nixus a wrapped up burger. Vanessa sat down in the couch seat opposite of Nixus, only taking some fries.
"Didn't think you'd own a place like this, Nix." Lewis said, taking a chomp out of his burger. "Looks way bigger than I'd expect from someone like you."
Nixus shrugged. "Got it for free a long time ago. Old Man had a lot of people indebted to him before he kicked the bucket, so when he dropped dead, I got everything owed to him."
"The hell your old man do to get something like this?" Vanessa raised a brow, having quickly ran off to get a glass.
Nixus chuckled. "Not much, really. He was a Fazbear Entertainment Engineer, before Mr. Emily liquidated the company back in '24. A Lot of shit went down back then, as you all know, but my dad was smart about it. He recorded blackmail, 24/7, got dirt on everyone except for Mr. Emily. Dude was clean like soap."
"Heh, that he was. Actually met the guy before everything was burned down. He was not happy about Fazbear's Frights. Hell, he'd probably beat each and every single one of us to death for opening up this Mega Pizzaplex after everything he did." Lewis sighed, downing a sip.
Nixus frowned. "Yeah. Mike probably would have burned the place down if he was still kicking."
Vanessa gave him a look. "Mike? Like that night guard in the first game?"
Nixus gave her a tired, but… Angry look. Not that Vanessa could see, his eyes instinctively shutting down. 'Bring up those games again, and your body will never be found.'
Instead of vocalizing those particular thoughts, Nixus just waved his hand. "Don't worry about it. Been wondering, Lewis, shouldn't you be back at your place taking care of your kid?"
Lewis waved him off. "Nah, it's only a holiday for us Fazbear Employees. She's still off at school." His eyes glanced away. "And… my ex has custody for today…"
Nixus winced, and Vanessa reached over and patted his shoulder. "That case was a scam. And hey, she's only go One day a month with her, no real lasting damage can come from the lying bitch."
"Yeah, I guess so… Hey, her birthday's coming up on the eleventh next month, y'all mind helping me get a private party planned through with Janet?"
"Dunno, she's really strict about that kinda stuff…" Vanessa started, but Nixus waved a hand.
"Don't worry, I'll plan something." Nixus smiled, his eyes reactivating. Lewis smiled, while Vanessa simply grumbled at being cut off.
"So, y'all want to watch something or some shit? Ain't got much, but I do have cable and Twolu."
Nixus, at first, wasn't much a fan of being interrupted from his nap, but Vanessa and Lewis were surprisingly fun company. He hadn't enjoyed sitting in his own house like this in Years, truth be told.
One particularly offhand comment from Lewis about animatronics and boobs flicked a reminder in Nixus's brain.
"Oh, Lewis, I actually got something to show you."
"Oh?" Lewis's brow perked up.
"Yeah, I was going to keep it until your Birthday, but I realized I had no fuckin' idea when that was." Nixus chuckled. "Follow Me."
The two followed close down the hall to the left, the door at the end leading to his seldom used bedroom, but they took a sharp turn into a stairwell. Down, and Down, and Down, past a strange metal door, and into a room darker than pitch. Nixus blindly reached out and flipped a switch.
For a moment, Lewis and Vannessa were blinded by the lights, each flicking on one by one with a Thick industrial Ch-Chunk.
The stark grey walls were lined with tools, parts, and Endoskeletons from every generation. A clear bucket of mechanical eyes in one corner, another with a dozen and one arms, hooks, jaws, even a line up of the First Generation of Animatronics, set up like they were on stage. Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy, all standing at attention.
But what drew their attention was not the tools, the parts, or even the band. It was a table in the middle of the room, with a torn up Glamrock animatronic sat upon it. Maroon torso and legs, baby blue casing, and a head that was cracked wide open.
"Holy Shit…" Lewis gaped. Nixus simply patted him on the back.
"I've been doing a little… side project since April, when I found Roxy having a breakdown in Bonnie Bowl." He glared at Vanessa. "By the By, stop threatening them with being Replaced, Vanessa."
She didn't even register what he said, staring blankly as Lewis walked closer. "How- How did you even find him?"
"Found him behind the shut down alley in Bonnie Bowl, torn to shreds and surrounded by the Little Guys." Little Guys being their nickname for the wet floor signs. "Beeped like crazy when I got in there. Seemed really happy when I dragged him out." Nixus slowly ran a hand over the damages.
"His torso servos and motors were shot to hell, Memory Chip and Personality Card were corrupted, but I've got those being cleaned up right now. Everything else is, surprisingly, in working order." He glanced at Vanessa. "Strange how he ended up in Bonnie Bowl, when he was last seen in Gator Golf, hm."
Vanessa blushed and looked away, drawing a dark chuckle from Nixus.
"I expect I'll have him fully repaired by next month, around your kid's birthday party, Lewis." Nixus patted his shoulder again, shocking him out of his surprise.
"Wait, so soon? These guys take literal Months for us to get replacement parts, how..?"
Nixus laughed. "I just used some older parts, reused some Toy Bonnie shells I had lying around, even used an authentic Foxy Arm to replace the rusted left arm. Was a pain figuring out the wiring between the old tech and the new Glamrock Hands, but I made do."
"This is insane, man…" Lewis was left agasp, once more. And this time, Vanessa was in the same boat. She wasn't smart when it came to engineering, but she'd watched others work on the Animatronics before. It was a Mess, even when simplified using the Red-Blue-Yellow-Green game they had installed, for some reason.
And Nixus had reverse engineered a Glamrock Endo, to work with a Gen 1 Endoskeleton, likely several Other Endo Generations as well, in under two months.
Who the Hell is this guy?!
Suddenly, Lewis's phone beeped. He pulled it out, and smiled like a mad man. "One good thing after another! I just got a message, my Ex got a D.U.I and I've gotta pick Little Miss Number 1 up! Vanessa, you're sober, let's go!"
Lewis rushed off to her car, Vanessa slowly following, still looking confused. Nixus just smiled, though he did have a thought spring to mind. "Oh, right, gotta get those flowers over!"
Nixus's car pulled up to a hill, out in the middle of damn near nowhere. A single oak tree gave him some shade, covering up six Gravestones. Five down at the bottom of the hill, one underneath. He placed flowers before all of them, Brown Cymbidiums, Red Daylilies, Sunflowers, Lavenders, and Yellow Roses.
The Sixth grave didn't get a flower. 'She never liked flowers much.'
On the other side of the tree were three more tombstones. The smallest, and the Oldest, he placed a Glamrock Freddy plush. 'He hated them, but he still loved the plushies.'
The second, he placed a Toy Foxy plushie. 'She loved tearing that poor action figure apart. The little jerk, heh.'
And the final tomb, he sat beside. Brushing off the dust and vines, he simply leaned back.
"You woulda hated this place, Mike."
Tomorrow Is Another Day.
