The weekend was officially over and it was now time to let the work and school week begin.
Kai what do you want for breakfast and lunch?
Hmm..
He put his thinking face on because he really couldn't decide
Ill have some pancakes and a bowl of strawberries. For lunch can I have a turkey sandwich and the Spicy Doritos please??
He gave liv sad eyes because he knew she didn't like him eating a bunch of spicy foods but he was just like her and wanted spicy food all the time.
Kai, you know you're just like me except you're the cutest little boy anybody could ask for.
She laughed kissing him on his forehead.
Okay Ill let you have the spicy chips today but you have to have a healthy choice of fruit.
Thank you mommy, Can I have a baby Orange ?
She giggled at him
Okay, ill give you a baby orange. Your breakfast will be finished in a few minutes

5minutes pass
Kai is eating his breakfast and so is Olivia
Uh mommy..
Liv looks at kai raising her eyebrow
Yes? Are u ok?
Yes im fine mommy but can I go to work with you again today? I don't really want to go to school
He gave her a look she always fell for

As much as I would love to have you come to work with me I did let you stay home Friday so you do have to go today. How about I come pick you up early? let's say around 11 we can go get lunch and come back to the office.
She looked at him grabbing his chubby cheek kissing it

Because I do have some people that are expecting to see me mommy.

He looked at liv raising his eyebrow

That Im a veryyy important person in my kindergarten class if Im not there nobody will be happy. So 11 is ok mommy
Olivia laughed looking at him knowing he was very serious.

She began giving him kisses picking him up because it was time to go

Okay. Will Mr Fitz Be at the office today?

Olivia stopped and thought about the next words she said because she has been thinking about him since the zoo but convinced herself the feeling would pass especially because she may still have a feeling it two for Tamia but she did have a minor crush on him.
Uh yes , he's a nice friend.
Wait!! I don't have my cars
He jumps down from Olivia's arms running to his toy room to get two cars one for him and one for Fitz to keep

20minutes later at Kai's school
Okay we're here. I will email your teacher to let her know I'll be picking you up early ok?
Okay mommy. Kisses now.
He pointed to his cheek
Liv did just that. Gave him a bunch of kisses on both of his cheeks

He ran into the building smiling.

Fitz on the other hand was having a pretty rough morning because he woke up a little later than usual which kind of threw his daily routine off and he didn't have enough time to do his workout he usually does so he decided to just do an at home workout instead.
After his workout he was sweatier than normal which didn't bother him much he got into the shower washed his hair and shortly after he got dressed for work.

His dog ran to him wagging his tail trying to jump on fitz
Fitz picked him up giving him his morning rubs and making sure he had food and water in his bowl.
Ok buddy I have to go I'll see you later ok?
He sat blaze back down on the floor and he just sat at the door like he usually does when Fitz is about to leave.
20 minutes pass
Fitz makes it into the office greeting Tyler and going directly to the conference room because there was a daily meeting at 9am.
The meeting ran for about an hour because there were some major concerns that had to be dealt with.
After the meeting Fitz went back to
his office because he did have a bunch of emails to respond to from clients who he was already currently representing.
In the midst of him working hard and going over case files he heard a gentle knock at the door and he sat up straight.

Fitz stood up going over to her giving her a hug
Im sorry I wasn't here for your first two days last week I feel like a horrible friend for that.
Fitz laughed
No reason to feel horrible I knew you weren't feeling your best I don't hold anything against you. Im so glad to be here everybody here is so amazing and good at what they do. I can't thank you enough for letting Olivia know that your good friend needed a job
He smiles thinking about Olivia but he plays it off like he's smiling at Harley.
You're welcome. You're like a big brother to me Ill do anything for you.
She smiled and began to walk out but stopped
Oh yea, olivia wants to see you when you have a minute.
Fitz began to feel a tingly feeling in his stomach at the mention of Olivia's name.
Okay thank you.
Fitz walked out after Harley shutting his door going to Olivia's office and knocking on the door

Olivia said putting her ink pen down
Fitz walked in slowly
Ms Pope you wanted to see me?
It's Livvie remember Fitz? I think we are past Ms pope wouldn't you think?
Just the sight of her sent shock waves through his body and he really wasn't understanding because his body never reacted this way with anybody he has been remotely attracted to

He closed her door and sat in a chair in front of her
So am I trouble?
He said jokingly
In a matter of speaking. You could be if you don't let me get you lunch today after all you've done for me.
Fitz let out a playful sigh
You are persistent aren't you?
Ive heard that a time or two. She shrugged So what will you be having for lunch Mr Grant?
It doesn't matter I'm not picky I will eat pretty much anything.
Mkay I will keep that in mind. I am about to leave for a second I have to pick up my son I promised him that I would get him out of school early so he could come to the office with me.
Okay I know he will enjoy that. Have I told you how cool your son is? He's so bright. I can only assume he gets all of that from you?
Oh Fitz thats so sweet of you. I won't take all the credit. He's just a smart boy
She laughed waving him off
Is there anything you need me to do while you're gone?
Nope, Ill let you know when we're back everybody usually has lunch in the lounge room but I usually let Kai Decide so ill let you know where to find us.
Sounds good , Ill see you when you get back
He gave a slight smile getting up fixing his jacket going back to his office
Damn that man is beautiful
liv thought to herself but immediately brung herself back to her senses.

10minutes later
She grabbed her bag and her car keys and headed downstairs to her car looking down at her phone seeing a text from fitz that reads
Hey Liv, could you possibly bring me back a blue gatorade? If they have it wherever you are getting lunch from? Its my favorite
She laughed at him being so specific.
I can make that happen ill be back shortly.
She was smiling at her phone not paying attention and walked right into Tamia.
What the-
Tamia...why are you here?
Liv looked at her backing up because she felt uncomfortable around her.
Who were you texting just now? You're smiling pretty hard.

olivia said locking her phone putting it in her bag
Well it must've been somebody you rather talk to more than me because you haven't been texting me back. You resulted to fucking around after our little argument?
Olivia was in a pretty good mood so she wasn't going to let Mia piss her off right now.

He's my son Tamia. He doesn't belong to you in any way shape or form. Don't ever mention My son to me again. Say whatever you want to me but don't say his name again ok?
He's my son just as much as he's yours Liv we raised him together remember?

Olivia got in her car and drove off as fast as she could and called her security to let them know to remove Tamia anytime she approached the premises and if needed notify the local authorities. She was fed up with Tamia and her insane cheating ways it was indeed time for a change.
20 minutes later
It was now 10:58 and Olivia walked into Kai's school to pick him up and she wasn't even surprised that he was walking down the hall to come to the office and wait because he knew liv was never late for anything if she said 11:00 she would be there on time
Mommy!
He walked over to her holding onto her leg while she signed him out
Hi baby. say bye to Ms Gallagher.

Kai waved at the office staff and walked out hand in hand with liv to the car
Kai did you eat your lunch or no? Im stopping to get me some lunch.
No I didn't eat lunch I was going to ask for pizza from that place we went to when I didn't go to school.
We can get that again ill call ahead just to make sure its ready by the time we get there.
Ok & Mommy?

Is Mr Fitz There today?
Yes he's working today why do you ask?
Because he is my friend and I have a toy car he can keep.
Olivia looked at Kai through the rear view mirror smiling
Ohhh he must be a really good friend of yours because you never give your cars to anyone.

Olivia Parked into the buildings garage and because it was so nice outside olivia and kai decided to walk to the corner pizza shop.
It smells yummy in here

Liv remembered fitz wanted a blue Gatorade so she grabbed herself a iced tea kai apple juice and fitz his Gatorade and a bunch of packets of hot pepper flakes because that was her and Kai's favorite and headed back to the office.

Kai said giving him a fist bump
Mommy can we eat in your office?
Yes go ahead
He walked directly to his moms office sitting on his beanbag
She followed and sat the box of pizza and plates down on the table in her room grabbing her phone to text fitz
Hi , lunch is here. In my office
He seen the message and didn't respond he just went to her office holding a bag with something he has for Kai
Kai look who it is. Your good friend
Olivia said laughing a little
Kai jumped up and ran to fitz giving him a fist bump
Whats up!
What's up Kai! I have something for you
He gives kai the bag

Kai smiled big reminding fitz of Olivia's smile
He opened the bag and seen it was a hat just like the one fitz let him wear at the zoo
Olivia was shocked
Aw Fitzgerald thats so sweet of you. I would've gotten it
Fitz made a face at Kai whispering but olivia can still hear it
Tell your mommy this is boy talk right now shes too girly for boy talk
Mommy! This is boy talk you're a girl
He laughed giving her a smile
Well I guess I should just get my slice of pizza and let you two enjoy your boy talk
She smiled at fitz then kai walking past them to get her pizza and her tea

Kai said to Fitz running to get his book bag

Kai came back holding a blue toy car that looks just like Fitz's jaguar
This is for you I want you to keep it so you can remember your good friend Kai.
You know what? I will be honored to keep it Ill keep it on the front of my desk so everybody can see it how does that sound?
Sounds good to me! Now lets eat before it gets cold. I like it spicy do you?
He held up a pack of hot pepper flakes

Fitz looked over to Olivia smiling a little
Im just fine Mr Grant.
She looked down at her plate just to hide the fact that she was blushing

After lunch there were 2 more meetings the team had to attend before the work day was officially over.
Liv was back in her office and Kai was with Harley he sometimes went to her house to have play dates with her two Sons so Olivia was kid free tonight.
Olivia and Fitz were the last ones in office because they did like to get a head start on the work they would have to complete the next day.
Olivia continued to respond to emails and file paperwork until her phone rang and not to her surprise it was Tamia.

Olivia answered
Hey..liv I went to go pick up Kai from school because I missed him and haven't seen him in a while and the school told me I was removed from being an authorized person to pick him up from the school. You know how childish you are for that Olivia?
Olivia had to take a deep breath before she lost her cool and really snapped out on Tamia
Tamia how many times a day do I have to remind you that Kai isn't your son?
You can continue to say it until your head swells for all I care Olivia He's my son just like he's yours. Remember I'm the only one that didn't abandon you I was the only one that stuck around after finding out that you had a kid. Remember?
Tamia Knew how to tap dance on Olivia's Nerve knowing Kai's father not being around hurt liv more than anything
You care for Kai so much but you're depriving him of having another parent figure because of your petty grudges. That's not fair to him liv and you know that.
Olivia hung up the phone immediately when she heard how deep and personal Tamia was getting out of spite
Olivia began crying hard not realizing that her door was cracked
Fitz was getting ready to say goodbye to olivia and head home when he approached her door and heard her crying, he knocked so he could let his presence be known
Olivia..its Fitz can I come in?
Olivia wiped up her tears pretty fast but her eyeliner was now smudged which was a dead give away

Are you ok?
He sat his briefcase down going over to her literally towering over her
No.. I'll be ok I just need a hug.
She looked up at fitz still teary eyed

Fitz grabbed her hand helping her stand up pulling her into his warm embrace
Olivia Sighed of relief as her head against Fitz. She forgot about everything she was currently experiencing and just thought about how peaceful laying her head into him felt. She wrapped her arms around him to complete the hug and they just stood there in silence for a few minutes.
He pulled back a little putting his finger under her chin so she would be looking at him

He looked at her now feeling sad because he knew something terrible was happening to her

She wiped her face with her tissue
Some ice cream may make me feel totally better
We can go to the ice cream stand near the park we went to after the zoo since its only two blocks up.
He suggested and she obliged.
That sounds like a great Idea Fitz.
They Walked down to the park where they would both get ice cream and walk around in the park in silence just enjoying the company

The reason I have been down lately is because I just went through a horrible breakup.

I was with a female for about 3 years that was the first relationship I was in since Kai's father left us in the hospital the day he was born. I loved her I truly did we were best friends in every aspect until our 2nd year of being together she began drinking and cheating constantly. I blame myself for allowing her to stay in me and Kai's life because the fear of being abandoned once again hung over me like a gray cloud. So I allowed it because I always knew she would come home to me and kai. I know it's pretty stupid to knowingly allow someone to live their life in a way that would cause so much pain because you love them. Me being bright and everything I should have just let her go but knowing Kai was attached to her like I was I never called it quits for the sake of him. Until recently...
Fitz stood there just listening thoroughly not saying a word until she let everything out.
The day you came to the office for the first time I received a call from the principal down at his school and he hadn't been picked up and it was well over 30minutes past pickup time snd Tamia usually picks him up from school daily but that day she didn't. She came home around 2am I believe and she was drunk like smelly drunk and was dropped off by a woman. A woman she confessed she had cheated on me with that night & Now she has been popping up to my house , the office and calling me constantly taking digs at me and trying to make me feel bad for finally leaving her after everything she's done to me. I am just tired of it fitz.. I really am Tired.
Fitz was angry on the inside for liv but didn't show that on the outside he instead pulled her into his warm embrace once again because that seemed to relax her for some reason
Livvie..you are an amazing woman and mother. You should not have had to deal with a shitty toxic and manipulative person like that. None of that was your fault it was hers. You cant fault yourself for how shitty other people are. I was in a similar situation like that some years ago and it was hard to break away but coming to new york and starting a new life has helped me out significantly. You and Kai deserve the absolute best. I understand why you didn't leave for the sake of Kai and that just further shows how much of a great mother you are Liv. I understand the hurt you feel and Im proud of you for mustering up the strength to finally leave. You deserve so much better I swear you do.
Fitz Knew he liked Liv but now understood why he felt like it wasn't the right time to address that at the zoo
Liv sighed putting her hands under fitz suit jacket hugging him tighter feeling his muscles relax against her. Feeling like this is where she belonged.
Thank you Fitz... I appreciate everything you have done for me and Kai by just simply being there for us and having fun.
She started tearing up again still feeling a little emotional

He looked down at her taking his thumb and wiping a tear from her face holding her cheek in his hand
Seeing that he was now Showing the sadness he felt for her Olivia put her hand on his face like he had his and pulled him down and got on her tippy toes and did something that shocked them both.
She kissed him
He didn't try to stop her either , he kissed her back now having both of his hands on her face kissing her slowly eventually pulling away so he could see her beautiful face.
Fitz.. im sorry that was totally inappropria-
Its okay. I loved what you did , dont ever apologize for it. You're so beautiful Livvie I don't want to ever see you crying again. I mean it
He said moving her hair out of her face with a serious tone
He was blushing and he knew it because he felt that his cheeks getting hot.

She was blushing also . It was the first time she felt truly happy in a while after that kiss and hearing the words he spoke to her.
