Chapter 17
Shalltear paid no attention to Daphne's screams of worry as the obedient blond-haired girl followed her, desperately trying to stop her. But without luck, the silver-haired True Vampire had her goals set. One of them was to obviously please her beloved master and to bear him a child before Albedo. But another one was to prove that she could be reliable and intelligent. Ensuring the Slytherin house was under their control could be quite useful for them. There was a lot to enjoy here after all, or that's how Shalltear sees it in any case.
"My princess!" Daphne exhaled, taking deep breaths, as she was not used to running that distance.
"My dear, you have terrible stamina. How could you ensure my beloved is satisfied if you can't even run a few metres without getting tired?" Shalltear mocked her, but there was quite a bit of irritation behind her voice.
"I—" Daphne wasn't sure of what Shalltear was saying, or perhaps she was. But she decided to ignore those words for now. "My princess, you can't just barge in and challenge the Slytherin king!"
Shalltear raised an eyebrow with mild curiosity. "Why?" She asked, a bit amused.
"Because there are rules to follow. The Slytherin's rule house is important to us! It's tradition! All noble houses have to abide by them!" Daphne exclaimed while Shaltlear tilted her head at her.
"What are these rules you speak of?" Shalltear asked, mildly amused.
Daphne took a moment to compose herself and take a deep breath before exhaling. Good! At least she is listening to me! Daphne thought, thankful that the petite Nazarick princess had some brain in her head.
"First, the Slytherin king is the house leader, and his council is—"
"Alright, I have heard enough," Shalltear stated with that cheeky smile of hers. "I forgot to tell you that I don't care about Slytherin's house rules."
Daphne's face was stunned, even perplexed and irritated at the princess's lack of self-awareness. It was frustrating because Daphne's fate was now enthralled by Shalltear's. Even though they weren't officially allies, the rest of the house saw it that way.
There was only one thing Daphne could do. Slowly, she raised her wand, and in her mind, she was justifying her actions. Desperate measures for desperate times.
"I won't let you!" Daphne aimed her wand directly at Shalltear's face, who wore a smirk and a disdainful expression, almost as if Daphne's gall amused her.
"My dear, what are you trying to do?" Shalltear teased, strolling towards Daphne, who froze at the sight of those red eyes glaring at her.
"I am going to stop you! I can't let you ruin both of us!" Daphne yelled.
Shalltear chuckled. "You're so cute. Truly, humans like you are so cute~."
In an instant, Shalltear's hand grabbed Daphne's wrist with one hand and her neck with the other one. All with incredible speed and precision, catching the blond-haired girl completely off guard. Daphne's eyes widened in shock, and she gasped as Shalltear's grip tightened around her neck, causing a small hiss of pain to escape her lips.
"What—!" As Daphne opened her mouth to speak, she was suddenly overcome by the aura emanating from Shalltear. It was an intense, heavy feeling that seemed to envelop her entirely. She could feel her bravery slipping away, leaving her vulnerable and exposed as Shalltear's red eyes bore into her.
"If you scream, I'll break your little neck," Shalltear smiled as the grip force began to squeeze Daphne's neck, who had difficulty breathing.
"Do you understand?" Shalltear began to twist her wrist, causing even more discomfort. Daphne, terrified, nodded quickly.
"Now, it seems that you honestly do not understand your position and mine," Shalltear pushed her to the wall, as Daphne couldn't even control her body. She couldn't do anything. Shalltear's grip—the strength of this girl, who was smaller than her—was utterly beyond comprehension. "You're a little pet for my master, a mere toy for us. If you behave properly, you will be rewarded! But if you try to dictate what I can or can't do. I will make sure to punish you. After all, there is only one person who can command me."
Daphne's legs kicked frantically as Shalltear tightened her grip. She was suffocating. Tears slowly trickled from her eyes as panic and despair set in. Since Shalleater was quite the sadist and enjoyed the look of despair in Daphne, she licked the tears of virgins as though they were the finest wine and rejoiced in the expression on Daphne's face.
Soon, Shalltear loosened her grip, allowing Daphne to fall to the ground, gasping for her, sensing a sore throat, and looking at Shalltear with fear in her eyes. With those red eyes and that deadly aura, Daphne knew right then and there that the princess was not human.
"I knew there was something strange. You are not human," Daphne whispered fearfully. "Those eyes—!"
Shalltear chuckled. "Please, my dear. Now's not the time. I have to deal with something first."
Shalltear left Daphne on the ground as she confidently walked towards the Slytherin common room, where a large group of people were, like always, minding their own business. However, if one were to look closely, one would find a clear hierarchy forming among the oldest students. Those close to the only fireplace, the only source of heat in the cold dungeon, had to be on top of everyone else.
Shalltear then hummed deeply, ignoring Daphne walking behind her, still shocked and sore by what happened not even a few minutes ago.
"Well, I can't waste more time," Shalltear sighed before walking towards the lounge, where the fireplace was. The other older students frowned at her, wondering what the Nazarick princess would want—especially those sitting on a large couch.
Shalltear clapped her hands, earning everyone's attention. "Now~! Now~ I would like to know who is the Slytherin king or whatever. I would like to very much talk to that person."
The older Slytherin student frowned at such a sudden request, yet they only glanced at each other.
"Why would you like to meet that person, my princess?" One of the students asked, hiding a condescending voice behind a smile. Shalltear ignored it.
Shalltear then saw the Carrow twins, Hestia and Flora, whispering to a student sitting on a couch with a book on his lap, nodding quietly, looking down on Shalltear but not saying anything out loud.
"Mm, is this the Council or whatever it's called?" Shalltear mumbled to herself but was loud enough to be heard by the rest. The oldest students frowned as they glared at Daphne.
"Greengrass, it seems you can't keep quiet," one student hissed.
Daphne was still shaken up by Shalltear but couldn't showcase her fears or concerns. No, she kept a stoic look on her face, glaring directly into the older student's eyes.
"She is the princess; if she asks me something, I'll answer it," Daphne replied with her usual icy tone of voice. Not trying to be looked down on by her rivals. Shalltear, for her part, wore an incredulous, sarcastic smile as she shook her head in amusement at the group.
"Like a good pet dog, aren't you?" The older student hissed.
"She knows her place," Shalltear replied. "Not that I can say the same about all of you."
Those comments made everyone frown deeply as Shalltear began to look at her nails. "Now, I have no time to deal with so few vermin. Who is the Slytherin king? Come here, kneel before me, bla~ bla~. I am now in control of the Slytherin house."
"What?" One of the students asked, his voice clearly reflecting the sudden anger increasing in all of them.
"I don't like repeating myself, little worm," Shalltear replied, still looking at her nails and wondering what outfit she should wear next time she shares a bed with her beloved master.
Shalltear paid no attention to how those words echoed in the home of the snakes, and all those standing there just stared at the small, petite, silver-haired girl. They couldn't believe she dared to speak to them in such a manner. Especially their leader, who had made sure to keep himself out of view. But he couldn't allow it to go unpunished, not even if the girl was a princess. Slytherin House had rules in place. Rules that all of them had to follow. He stood up, hissing slowly at her.
"Shalltear Nazarick, princess of the Wizarding World and Heiress of the Nazarick family."
As the older student approached, Daphne swallowed nervously at the sight of the person everyone in Slytherin, including herself, agreed was the best duelist. Cassius Warrington may be a member of a lesser-known noble family. But time and again, he has demonstrated his wizardly prowess and shrewdness. He was a nasty individual, doing whatever he could in order to always be on top. No matter what.
And that's why Daphne was weary of him, of all people.
Yet, Shalltear simply stared at him with an incredibly bored look on her face.
"Mm~? So you're the leader of the house, yes?"
Cassius only glared back. Yet, his mind was already thinking of ways to take advantage of this situation. True, as a member of royalty, Shalltear, just like the rest of the Nazarick family, was almost untouchable in the school. Almost, being the word he liked most of the time. So, if the arrogant little girl wished to challenge him, he would oblige with a big smile.
"I am, my princess, and I hear you wish to take care of the house from now on. I have no qualms about it. However, the rules are that you must first defeat me in a duel."
Cassius stated, to which Shalltear simply shrugged.
"Yes, sure, let's duel. I have more important matters to attend to," Shalltear replied, making Cassius even angrier. Yet, he remained calm. Cassius chuckled at her.
"Of course," Cassius responded. "But, as you may know, If you lose, my princess, You shall be under my command and obey me."
Cassius's mind was already thinking about how he could use the princess's power and authority for his sake. "While you're under the Slytherin house, I am your master, understood?"
Shalltear's eyes narrowed as she fixed her gaze on the impudent human before her. The amusement etched on her face was unmistakable. Yet, at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a sense of incredulity at the audacity of the little man. How dare he speak to her in such a manner! The very idea was preposterous, and yet, there he stood, his head held high, seemingly unconcerned with the danger he had placed himself in.
"You surely think highly of yourself," Shalltear mumbled amusingly before laughing at the entire scene and everyone.
Daphne looked worried, her eyes reflecting her concern. But as she remained by Shalltear's side, there wasn't much she could do.
"Shall we see?" Cassius stated as he walked towards the end of the common room, already planning his duel strategy.
"Are you ready, my princess?" Cassius stared at her with a confident smile.
Shalltear looked at Daphne, who was already incredibly nervous. It was cute in her mind. So, Shalltear decided to do something about it—a way to truly showcase the difference in power between them.
"I'll give you one chance. Use your best spell. Your most powerful one."
Shalltear teased, enjoying the confusing look on Cassius's face. "Go on, little worm. Try it and use it. I am waiting."
Cassius, who was usually a very patient man, had his nerves almost destroyed by anger at the teasing smirk of Shalltear. He was going to enjoy it when the girl was on her feet, begging for mercy. Cassius would make sure to make her an excellent example to anyone who wished to defy him.
"I'll train you to be an obedient slave after this," he hissed, pointing his wand at him. "Frangens!"
Cassius's spell went directly to Shalltear. Daphne expected the worst after hearing the spell Cassius cast. But then nothing happened. The spell simply vanished when it hit Shalltear in a puff of smoke. Cassius and the rest were a bit stunned and unsure of what happened. Shalltear yawned loudly.
"That's it?" She tilted her head. "That's all you can do?"
Cassius hissed. "Confringo! Reducto!" Cassius's spell vanished before hitting Shalltear as if she were surrounded by something that protected her.
"What?!" Cassius mumbled, stunned. "What sort of spell are you using?! Is it a protective charm?! A heirloom?!" Cassius thought that since Shalltear was a member of the Wizarding World royal family. Maybe she was wearing a unique artefact that protected her from spells. That was the only reason he could think right then and there. He couldn't think of anything else but that.
Yet, the truth was a bit more terrifying, as Shalltear simply chuckled. "No. You're just very weak."
"It can't be!" Cassisu whispered before Shalltear removed her ring. The item that was genuinely hiding her powerful Mana. The moment she did, all of the students began to fall to the ground. Some were utterly petrified by the sheer power coming from her. Others began to puke, while others simply passed out.
"See, this is the difference between me and you," Shalltear teased, enjoying the look of pure horror as Cassius began to mumble something. But Shalltear did not care about whatever he tried to say.
"[Shock wave]" Shalltear lazily raised her finger, and a powerful burst of air charged Cassius, shattering every rib on his body and forcing his frail human body to crash on the wall behind him. The sound of his body and how simply it landed on the ground were quite terrifying. Cassius was already unconscious of the powerful attack.
Shalltear scoffed as she, without care, began to walk over the body of the unconscious student.
"With such a low-level spell. Lucky, I can't simply kill you yet," Shalltear mumbled before focusing on the group of students who stared at her. "In any case, I don't have time to waste with low vermin."
Shalltear then glared at one of the twins. "You take him to the infirmary. I don't want to waste my time healing him. He doesn't deserve it."
The two twins, who were on their knees, almost pushed each other while trying to obey Shalltear.
"Mm, easy," Shalltear chuckled before looking at Daphne, who was on her knees, having problems breathing correctly. "Aw~ Did you wet yourself?"
Daphne's embarrassment was overshadowed by her fear. She wanted to move, but her legs would not obey her. The only thing Daphne could do was stay on the ground while trying to hide her shameful accident.
"Don't worry, my dear," Shalltear then lifted Daphne's chin and lustfully licked her lips at the expression the blond-haired girl was giving her. "You are under the protection of the Nazarick family. Just behave well, and you'll have nothing to worry about."
Daphne wasn't sure what she just got herself into. But one thing was certain: Voldemort and the Death Eaters were the last of her worries now. The entire Wizarding World may discover a greater threat looming on the horizon.
Hermione stirred from the sweet, peaceful slumber that she had been indulging in. With a slight reluctance, she rose from the comfortable bed, stretching her arms and legs to banish the last vestiges of sleep. A wide yawn escaped her lips as she made her way towards the bathroom. The warm comfort of her bed had lulled her into a deep sleep, but now she realised how badly she needed to take a refreshing bath to start her day.
"Rose, wake up. We must take a bath before breakfast is called," Hermione mumbled before looking at the empty bed next to her. She frowned, recalling not seeing Rose since yesterday.
"Where are you?" Hermione muttered to herself, wondering if something had happened to her friend.
Hermione believed that Rose was capable enough to take care of herself, so she didn't worry much about her whereabouts. Perhaps Rose had already woken up and was in the Great Hall having breakfast, engrossed in a book, as Hermione often did. With this thought in mind, Hermione took a shower and put on her uniform.
"The Tri-Wizard Tournament begins today," Hermione left the Ravenclaw tower, her mind thinking about what could happen that day. Ainz, Rose's brother, was among the champions. She would lie if she didn't admit that Ainz was an enigma she couldn't quite comprehend. The entire Nazarick family was truly something weird. And that's putting it mildly.
"A sudden appearance of the closet things the Wizarding World has of a royal family," Hermione mumbled, wondering why now, of all times, the Nazarick showed themselves. And also, just how did the Boy-Who-Lived fit into all of this? It was something Hermione wanted to know.
Hermione then arrived at the Great Hall, and her eyes darted to the Ravenclaw table, hoping to see Rose. Still, to her surprise, Hermione's friend wasn't there. "Uh? She is not here," Hermione's eyes darted around, trying to find Rose.
Hermione frowned deeply, but soon enough, she felt a hand around her shoulder, making her let out a cute squeal.
"Eii!" Hermione then looked and saw the smirking face of Lupusregina.
"Hey, you!" Lupusregina smiled at her.
"Lupusregina! You spook me! Please don't do that!" Hermione sighed deeply, while Lupusregina could only chuckle back.
"Sorry, sorry. I just wanted to surprise you!" Lupusregina said as she smiled at the bushy girl. "Are you looking for sweet Rose?"
Hermione frowned slightly before nodding. "Yes, do you know where she is?"
"Yes, we have a sleepover. Sorry, we didn't invite you. It was quite... out of the blue," Lupusregina replied, hiding a very dirty smirk on her face, as Hermione simply stared at her, confused.
"Sleepover?" Hermione muttered to herself, wondering what was happening. Suddenly, she noticed Ainz, Narberal, and Rose making their way towards the Great Hall. However, the moment Hermione's eyes fell upon Rose, she froze in shock at the sudden change in her appearance. "Rose?!"
Rose had always been self-conscious about her body, and, as a result, she made a habit of wearing oversized clothes that concealed her figure. Her uniform cloak was always a reliable option for this purpose, and she even went the extra mile by donning high stockings to limit the amount of skin on display. The red-haired girl had always been uncomfortable with the attention that came with her breasts and physique, which made it all the more surprising for Hermione to see Rose in attire that was the complete opposite of her usual style.
Since the redhead hadn't bothered to button it all the way up, it was easy to see that Rose's chest was bare beneath her Hogwarts white shirt. Providing a breathtaking look at Rose's breasts.
She is not wearing a bra?! Hermione felt embarrassed and tried to avert her eyes. However, upon closer inspection, she realised that there was more to the situation. Rose's skirt was significantly higher than usual, and since she wasn't wearing her typical pantyhose, it exposed almost all of her legs to everyone's view.
Rose's hair was a mess, in the naughty sense of the word. It was as if someone had done it for her, and Rose was wearing more makeup than usual.
Overall, Rose looked like someone else entirely.
"Rose? What happened?" Hermione asked slowly as Rose hugged Ainz's hand and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Sorry, Hermione, I should've told you something, but you were very focused on homework and all of that," Rose stated, ending with a very strange giggle as Ainz chuckled something in her ear.
"Alright," Hermione replied quietly, still trying to make sense of what Rose had just said.
"I shall leave you for now. I must prepare for today's challenge. It's going to start soon," Ainz leaned in and kissed Rose's cheek, causing the redhead to blush deeply. That action would've not perplexed Hermione before, but the way Rose stared at Ainz as if he were everything she ever wanted made her feel uneasy.
"I am going to cheer for you!" Rose exclaimed as Ainz only smiled at her before leaving with Narberal and Lupusregina.
"Rose, what happened?" Hermione now asked seriously as Rose smiled at her. "Why are you dressing like this?"
"I am a woman now, Hermione," Rose replied with a smirk.
"A woman?" Hermione questioned it, unsure of what it exactly meant. "What does that even mean?"
Rose then laughed. "I will tell you all of it, but not here. Let's find a more secluded place."
"Why not here?" Hermione asked. But Rose only smiled before walking away.
Hermione sighed as she followed her friend, not knowing that it would be the first step of a new life for her. A very, very different life she envisioned for herself.
