Chapter 17: An Early Winter
With heavy breathing and a grin of misshapen teeth exposed, the Wendigo observed his surroundings as he licked the tip of said teeth with interest.
"An entire populated city. I haven't entered one of these in ages…" He said, taking another step out of the portal to stand fully on the concrete. With a guttural chuckle, his wicked grin somehow grew as he looked at the buildings. "This town's going to be a buffet once I'm done with him…"
Danny, meanwhile, felt his blood run cold. His brow began to sweat greatly. Fear and worry grew as he looked at Dani.
"Can we postpone this squabble?" He asks.
Dani looked at the Wendigo before her eyes darted to Danny.
"For now…" She said, deciding to talk with him on this later.
Meanwhile, those unfamiliar with this creature wearing a fake deer skull were surprised.
"Uh… what is that thing?" Sam asks.
With a slow turn of his head, Danny directed his attention to her.
"That's the Wendigo…" He said with slight terror in his tone.
Hearing that caught their attention.
"That's the creature you two faced in that cave?" Maddie asks.
"Wait, so it does have antlers?" Sam asks, knowing that the creature in the fable didn't have those.
"No, he's wearing a fake skull like a helmet." Danny explained.
Another guttural laugh came from the creature, getting Danny's attention.
"You have no idea how I've waited for this." The Wendigo said, raising his hand and making a fist. "You should be lucky I'm so petty that I won't eat any other human until I've had my revenge on you."
"Yeah, you do seem petty…" Danny said. "How did you get here, exactly?"
"No more talk, I've waited long enough. Those who cross me the most get my full attention. And you have my full attention. I'm going to break you into pieces and gobble them up…" The Wendigo then looked towards Dani. "And the little one will be my breakfast…"
Dani shuddered as she stepped back.
"Uh...you don't wanna eat me...I don't eat healthy." She said with a terrified look on her face.
Jack and Maddie then sprung into action, brandishing their weapons.
"Try something and you'll have to answer to me!" Maddie warned.
The Wendigo's head tilted as if to indicate interest.
"Ah… the parents… Jack and Maddie Fenton, if I'm not mistaken…" His words caused the two to momentarily blink in surprise. "The mother… such defined muscles would be a good source of protein." Maddie shuddered at how just made it clear his intent to eat her. "And the fat one… keeping me fed for a while…" As his eyes drifted from the disgusted Jack, he glanced at Jazz. "And Jasmine, or Jazz, if I recall… all those smarts would make you good brain food…"
Jazz gasped in horror as she stepped back. It was then the Wendigo noticed Sam and Tucker, both flinching as he took notice of them.
"Uh… welcome to Amity Park?" Tucker responded with a nervous smile.
"Who are these two?" He asks before sniffing the air. "I smell no blood relation, these two must be friends. The female's a vegan, healthy but quite lacking in body fat. The other one smells rather high in calories. They're not who I'm here for, so I might save for later meals… I haven't had vegan meat in years. It's so… what's the word? Oh yes…tender." The Wendigo said with a vile smile.
Both of them felt the blood run cold as they held onto each other.
"Totally fine with abandoning goth principals at the moment…" Sam said in fear.
"How do you… know our names?" Maddie questioned as she gripped her weapon tightly.
The Wendigo raised an arm as something flew out of the portal. That something was an owl, a Great Horned Owl to be more precise.
"I have the power to make owls my eyes and ears. I used this to scope out potential meals, and to search for those I'm after…" The Wendigo said before he looked up at the sky disdainfully. "And I have another power I want to use. This weather is too warm for me…"
With a deep breath, the Wendigo raised his hands and then brought them together to perform some kind of hand sign. He then did another, then another, then more. The owl had already flown off his arms when this happened.
"What's he doing now?" Danny asks under his breath.
The Wendigo resumed the hand signs before finishing. That's when something happened.
A flash of light appeared as something happened.
For a brief moment, it looked like the screaming face of a man in pain, something that caught them off guard. It became more terrifying when more faces appeared, faces of horrified people. Along with this frightening imagery came screams that grew louder with each passing second.
The Wendigo opened his eyes quickly before, with a snarl, he looked up and released from his mouth a blue stream that went into the sky.
Elsewhere
At a nearby ice cream shop, Klemper was annoying people again.
"Will you be my f-"
His attempt was stopped when he, like an old man who didn't even see him yet, noticed the beam going into the sky.
At the same time, Wulf was about to pounce on a nearby deer as prey before he too became aware of the stream.
"Kio en la mondo estas tiu afero?" He asks.
Sidney Poindexter, meanwhile, was taking a long walk in the countryside when he too saw it.
"What kind of way out thing is that, Danny-o?" He asks
This continued as one last person who was in the forest doing training.
"HAH! HYAH! HRH!" The Fright Knight went, swinging his sword for a future battle.
It was then he saw the light reaching the sky. A light that caused the clouds to grow and darker.
Back in Amity Park.
The Wendigo finishes the stream of energy before grinning at Danny.
A chill ran through them when it became clear how dark it was now. The clouds had grown darker and the wind became a much more bitter cold.
"Uh… what was that?" Tucker asks.
"I don't know…" Sam went, suddenly shivering.
"Sam?" Tucker went, noticing what she was doing. "Are you scared?"
"I'm… cold." She explained, wrapping her arms tightly around her.
However, her expression had some cracks and it was showing..
"What… was that?" Danny asks.
"A mere fraction of my power to make things more… palatable for me." The Wendigo said.
"No… I mean… the faces. Those faces… what were they?" Danny asks.
He recalled the sight of those faces. Those horrified looks of people in pain.
"Oh… those? You'll find out soon enough!" The Wendigo said as he suddenly crossed the distance between him and Danny almost quickly before backhanding him away.
Everyone else gasped.
"How'd he move that fast?!" Sam asks, still trying to keep warm.
Getting on his feet and shaking his head, Danny managed to react in time to step back, flying backwards, to avoid the large hang of the Wendigo.
"I'm going to tear your flesh off and devour each piece, then I'll skewer the rest and eat them like fancy kebabs…" The Wendigo said with a sinister snicker.
"Huh… that sounds neat." Tucker said with a smile.
It was then everyone else got in his face and sent him disapproving scowls.
"He's talking about eating us!" Sam reminded him with a harsh tone.
"Excuse me for wanting to be eaten in style…" Tucker said in an attempt to justify his stance.
Before the Wendigo could resume his attack, a warning shot flew past his face, hitting the concrete.
"Back away from MY prey, you hyena!" Skulker shouted.
With an angered growl, the Wendigo turned his head. As did Danny, seeing the entire Revenge Squad to his left.
"Oh right, forgot about them." Danny muttered.
"Excuse us, but that's our prey! And by that I mean MY prey! It's too late to join us, so step aside and allow us our much desired and deserved retribution!" Skulker said.
The Wendigo slowly examined everyone before baring his teeth. Danny noticed this, unsure if this was a sadistic grin or a violent scowl.
"What's this? These are your enemies? They want a piece of you?" He looked at Danny. "However… I've been waiting to hunt you down for a long time. Revenge is a dish best served cold…" He then turned his body and started walking towards them. "... and I don't share meals."
Danny remained still, not knowing what to do to get out of this situation.
Oh, what now? Should I help them or something? He mentally wondered.
The Wendigo walked towards the ghosts, his arms hanging down, not swinging. He took long, slow steps as his teeth bared. All the while, the ghosts remained cocky, not thinking him a threat.
"Excuse us but we're in the middle of something here." Skulker said, arms crossed.
The Wendigo stopped in his tracks, tilting his head downward with a grin.
"Oh, is that so? How rude of me…" The Wendigo said with a faux-apologetic tone.
Skulker only scoffed.
"No need for long winded apologies. Just leave, we have business with that boy." He said with arms crossed.
The Wendigo's grin expanded from his right.
"I see…" He said as he slowly raised his right arm. "Well, I too have some business with Danny Phantom." His claw was readied for attack. "And I don't collaborate!"
With a grin, Skulker aimed his wrist, which unveiled a blaster that was fired. To his utter shock, the emaciated creature he fired at ran around him before the blast even left the cannon.
The Wendigo then slammed Skulker into the ground after grabbing his arm and swing him downward.
The rest of the Revenge Squad watched in mild shock as Danny's eyes widened in terror. He then turned his head towards the rest.
"Get everyone around out of the area." He ordered.
"Huh?" Jack went.
"As soon as the Wendigo is done eliminating his competition, he's going to come after me. If anything happens to me, this place is gonna be a buffet for him… best limit his options…" Danny said.
"Uh, I'm on probation, remember?" Sam pointed out with mild attitude.
"Sam! Don't argue! Just do it!" Danny snapped, partially out of annoyance with her but also because he too feared she'd end up this monster's meal.
As Danny was distracted, he didn't see the end result of the one-sided battle, Skulker's suit was now lacking both arms after the Wendigo tore them off with his jaws.
"I got enough iron in my diet..." The Wendigo said after he spat out one of the arms he removed.
Walker and Bullet shared a look and nodded.
"I was hoping to use that on the punk, but use it on our new friend instead..." Walker ordered.
"Right..." Bullet said as he held a certain something in his hand.
Before the Wendigo could tear Skulker's head off, Bullet flew in and managed to place the collar on the Wendigo.
"Huh?" The Wendigo went, dropping Skulker.
"Got him..." Bullet said with a thumb's up.
"Perfect..." Walker said as he pulled out a remote. "Let me show you what happens to those who go against the rules…"
He pressed a button and waited for the shocking to begin.
Indeed, electricity came out of the collar, hitting its wearer with full blast. However, it took seconds before Walker's smugness faded away quickly upon realizing the Wendigo wasn't remotely bothered.
Instead, there was an almost amused look on his face.
"Thanks for getting that crick out of my neck..." He said, grinning still as he casually pulled out the collar like it was nothing.
He casually tossed the torn collar aside before walking towards Walker with the intent to do harm. Panicking, Walker looked back at the Ghost Writer.
"Do your thing and I will lighten your sentence!" Walker shouted.
"If you insist…" The Ghost Writer said.
The Ghost Writer summoned his new keyboard and started typing.
"Finally putting that thing to good use…" Johnny muttered with arms crossed.
"I don't know what you are, but you're about to be in the part of the story where we win!" The Ghost Writer said as he fired a beam from the keyboard, hitting the Wendigo.
"That so?" The Wendigo challenged, not bothering to get out of the way.
The Wendigo glowed blue a moment before tilting his head upward.
That's when the typing began.
"This mystery creature from nowhere has intruded on our schemes! Now its time for his goodbyes, with his last sounds being screams!" He rhymed as he typed.
The Wendigo casually walked towards him as Danny watched.
"Ghost Writer's going to write his poem. That'll work… I guess these guys will take out this creep…" He said under his breath with relief before noticing something. "Wait a minute…" His relief vanished. "I didn't say jerk or dork… I didn't rhyme. I'm still not rhyming… that means…"
The Ghost Writer resumed his typing, unafraid as the Wendigo walked closer.
"The creature will learn not to mess with our plans. Frozen in terror, he-"
"Can you shut up already? Your idiotic little poem is giving me a migraine. The kind where the only cure is to disembowel you and force feed your insides to you." Wendigo said with a guttural growl.
It took seconds for the Ghost Writer to register what was just said.
"That… that didn't rhyme… at all with what I typed…" He said, his voice growing more afraid with each word.
"No duh!" The Wendigo said before casually taking the keyboard and flipping it, causing it to break into pieces.
The Ghost Writer was horrified, staring at his now destroyed keyboard, on the verge of a meltdown now.
"My poem didn't work?! HOW?!" He screamed in confusion and despair.
"The poem didn't work? Is he… immune or something?" Danny asks as he sees what else the Revenge Squad tried.
"Alright, forget this." Spectra said as she looked to one ghost who could end this. "Kitty! Kiss this thing goodbye!"
"On it. I was saving this for Danny… but I can put the full blast into this one…" Kitty said as she pressed her hand into her lips to use a vanishing kiss.
Unleashing her kiss-shaped attack, it did not stop until it hit its target. However, it fizzled out upon contact with the Wendigo.
The beast rolled his eyes at that attempt.
"Sorry, I'm not the kind who kisses on a first date..." He snarked.
Kitty was flabbergasted before trying her kiss again. Once again, it failed. She tried to press her hand into her mouth even more forcefully to fire once more. Like before, the attack did nothing..
"W-What?! What gives?! How are you doing that?!" She stammered, finding this impossible.
"Not sure what you were up to… but I'm afraid you're too weak to do anything to me..." The Wendigo said before quickly closing the gap and backhanding her into the concrete, knocking her out.
However, as the Wendigo held her up by the neck to do more harm Johnny sent his shadow to save her
"Shadow! Attack!" Johnny ordered.
As Ember and Spectra stepped in to aid their friend, Johnny's shadow went to a nearby street light to use its power to make it fall on the Wendigo. However, before the light could fall, something unexpected happened.
Instead of falling on the Wendigo, it seemed to stop before turning, landing on the two ghosts instead.
"UGH! JOHNNY, YOU IDIOT!" Ember shouted in anger.
"Why is Kitty still sticking to you?!" Spectra snapped.
"Wait… How- That's never happened before..." Johnny said in disbelief.
As Spectra pushed the light off, she was distracted from a tall monster getting in close. The Wendigo bit Spectra's arm, making her scream.
"GET OFF ME!" Spectra screamed as she tried to punch it off.
Instead, the creature resumed sinking his teeth into her red-sleeved arm before noticing something.
"Wait a minute…" He said, sounding displeased.
With force, he managed to pull her human disguise off, revealing her shadowy form.
"What?! How?!" She cried out in shock and anger.
The Wendigo spat out Spectra's human form, watching it dissolve like dust.
"Fake… you're not a human..." He growled, dissatisfied as he looked at her true form.
Spectra scowled in anger and outrage.
"How dare you tear off my beautiful form?!" She screamed.
"Beautiful? Pathetic..." The Wendigo said disdainfully.
"Pathetic?!" Spectra questioned.
"Does a spider admire a fly's form before feeding? Does a fox do the same to a rabbit? Or a lion to a zebra? No… All I see is what to eat… and you're a pale substitution." He said disdainfully.
It was then a large, meaty fist slammed into him, getting his attention. That was the work of the Lunch Lady in her meat form, having a satisfied look on her face.
"Well, that's taken care of. Now with the appetizer done, let's deal with the main cou-" It was then she noticed the meat on her arm seemed to slowly shrink. "What in the name of Julia Child is going on?!" She questioned.
To her horror, the Wendigo burst out of her arm, licking his teeth with anticipation. He crawled up the arm he broke out of as she tried to slap him away with her other hand. However, his reaction was to bite off one of the meat fingers and quickly devour it in a very animalistic manner.
Though the ghosts were caught off guard by this, the Wendigo grinned with excitement.
"Trying to kill me with meat?!" He asks mockingly before jumping onto her face, devouring it while making more animal noises before exposing the ghost within. "That's like trying to drown a fish!"
He then grabbed her by the head and threw her out, causing the meat to fall apart and land on the ground, where he resumed eating it.
The ghosts looked disgusted before noticing how quickly he finished. As the Wendigo wiped his mouth clear, he snickered at how they've failed to do any harm to him.
After seeing how all his enemies were being utterly crushed in battle, Danny made his decision.
Before the Wendigo could make a move, Danny flew in, kicking him in the back of the head to make him land into the ground.
"In any other situation, I'd enjoy watching this...but I kind of decided who the bigger fish in this pond is..." He said as he decided to step in.
As he flew around it to join his foes, much to their surprise, the Wendigo stood up.
"Finally… the main course. I was getting tired of the fake meat… very unsatisfying…" The Wendigo said as he wiped his mouth clean.
Skulker, having his arms reattached thanks to Technus, walked up to Danny.
"What is this thing, Ghost Boy? And why does it talk like it wants to eat you?" He questioned.
"I'll keep it quick. That thing is The Wendigo. The same one from Native American folklore..." Danny said.
This came as a shock to most of the other ghosts. Johnny, holding onto a somewhat conscious Kitty, raised his head.
"Wendy Go?" He asks.
"Who's Wendy?" Kitty asks with a slur.
"No. Wendigo." Danny corrected.
"Liar! There is no such thing as a wendigo. It's just a myth you humans invented as a cautionary tale..." Skulker said dismissively.
"He's telling the truth, I saw him fight these things in Canada..." Ember explained.
As the Revenge Squad took this info in, the beast they spoke of laughed to get their attention.
"Oh, I am very real and very interested in revenge..." The Wendigo said as he pointed at the ghost boy.
"What did he do?" Spectra questioned.
"I stored human flesh to eat… then his little world saving plan made me lose that meat. Now… soon as I end his life, I'll either eat everyone here or convert them into more revenants to use." The Wendigo said.
Skulker seemed fascinated.
"So… you're The Wendigo?" Skulker said.
"No duh…" He responded.
"Dibs..." Skulker said with a grin, seeing another addition to his collection.
"Not until I get payback." Johnny said angrily as he looked to his shadow. "Shadow, redeem yourself!"
Seeing a cement truck a block away, Shadow grinned as it towards it.
Using its bad luck power upon phasing through the truck, the engine turned on and started heading towards the Wendigo, not caring for those in its path.
"Get out of the way!" Danny said as all of them flew out of the path of the runaway vehicle.
"You idiot! Warn us!" Spectra shouted.
The truck went right towards the Wendigo. However, it started to slow down in its approach before it came to an almost sudden stop.
Amused, the Wendigo gave a mocking snicker before walking around.
"W-What?!" Johnny questioned as his Shadow had an equally horrified look on its face.
"Is THIS what you'd like to do to me? Too bad…" The Wendigo said.
With that, he effortlessly flips the truck in an attempt to crush his opposition.
As everyone flew out of the way to avoid being crushed, Skulker started to piece what was going on in his head.
"Twice now? It's never happened before with his shadow, but twice? This can't be a coincidence…" He said as he rubbed his chin in thought.
Out of desperation, Danny turned to Desiree.
"I can't believe that I am doing this..." He muttered before speaking up. "Desiree, I wish you sent the Wendigo back to his lair!"
This caught the genie by surprise.
"Wait, seriously?! You are making a wish?" Desiree asked, not expecting it.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures. I really don't care what the backfire could be as long as he's gone and we never see him again." Danny explained.
Desiree nodded.
"Consider a no backfire wish on the house for this time. So you have wished for it, so it shall be..." Desiree said as she used her magic.
He hand fired a pink beam at the creature they all shared an interest in getting rid of. However, to her horror, nothing happened to the Wendigo at all.
Once again, the creature snickered.
"What's going on?! Kitty's kiss… Johnny's shadow… Ghost Writer's poem… even a wish from Desiree did nothing?!" Danny questioned, finding everything he's witnessed made no sense.
"So… let me alter the odds in my favor. You have your forces…" The Wendigo raised his hand. "I have mine…" He then snapped his fingers.
"Oh no…" Danny muttered, eyes darting to the portal that now had snarling sounds coming from it.
The sound continued as they grew louder.
Out came a head with yellow, disgusting teeth as it screeched. Seconds after, more heads appeared as what came scuttling out was a horde of revenants.
As Danny steeled himself, most of the other ghosts stared in disbelief.
"What is that?" Kitty asks.
"Oh, the undead forms of people turned cannibal by his curse." Danny said flatly.
With a nasty grin, the Wendigo pointed to Danny.
"Get rid of anything or anyone in the way of ending the target." He ordered. As most of them started to make their way, the Wendigo singled out one revenant. "Not you… start eating."
More than 20 revenants surrounded Danny and the Revenge Squad. All of them bared their teeth at them.
The Box Ghost, sweating hard, rose into the air.
"Not worth it!" He said before bailing.
"Same!" The Ghost Writer said, also leaving.
"Wait for me!" The Lunch Lady went as she followed them.
Walker, meanwhile, started stepping back.
"Uh… you got this, Bullet." He said.
"No way! You don't pay me enough for this!" Bullet shouted as he fled.
"Traitor..." Walker complained before he did the same thing.
Before Spectra knew it, she was clawed by one revenant that got close quickly. With a pain shriek, she flew away.
Bertrand morphed into his panther form, only for the same thing to happen to him. He panicked.
"Wait for me!" He shouted before changing back to his blob form and flew away.
Johnny whistles for his bike to come, which he uses to get himself and Kitty away.
That left Danny to rely on Skulker, Technus, Desiree and Ember for aid.
"You guys are sticking around?." Danny said.
"I fear no creature." Skulker said stubbornly as he fired missiles at the enemy.
All but one revenant wendigo avoided the shot. The one hit ended up hitting the ground, crumpling up in a painful manner before getting on all fours.
"Aim for their chests, use as much heat as you can." Danny said.
Hearing that, Technus made his move.
"Disgusting walking corpses! Away with you!" He shouted before he fired electricity from his staff.
Those he tried to hit leapt out of the way, only for a fist created by Ember's guitar to knock them away.
Desiree pulled away from one creature trying to bite her. As she did, she quickly noticed one trying to grab her ghostly tail.
"No man… or… whatever you are… may lay a hand on me unless I wished it!" She declared before she tried to strike it with a wave of her hand creating a wave of energy.
However, her attempt to be rid of them only angered them further as they also hopped out of the way of her attack, snarling viciously like dogs.
As the fight went on, the Wendigo grinned at the one revenant he ordered doing his deed.
"Just a few more…" He said as the sounds of messy eating were heard.
More chaos continued as Danny and Ember were back to back.
"Any ideas?" Danny said.
"I can try to hit them with my hair… but there's so many compared to last time." Ember said to him, keeping her voice low.
"Maybe a combo. I use my ice and you use your flames at the same time." Danny said.
'Works for me..." Ember said.
Slamming his fist into the ground, Danny sent a wave of ice power, freezing about 4 revenants' hands and feet. This left Ember to grit her teeth and force the fire on her head to grow more intensely. With that, she unleashed her fire, engulfing them in flames. Blue fireballs left where they once stood, showing they were indeed destroyed.
"So, they do have weaknesses…" Skulker said as he aimed his blaster at the chest of one such revenant, leaving its chest hole smoldering before it fell on its back, turning to dust. "HAHA! One down, more to go!"
Another ball of blue fire left the remains of the creature. Danny's ghost sense went off. Though the rest ignored them, he noticed the blue flames leaving the destroyed revenants.
Now what? Danny thought as he noticed several revenants pulling back, much to his confusion.
Ember was about to strike the revenant before seeing it pulled away from the ankles.
"Huh?!" She said.
"What are they doing now?" Technus questioned.
To their horror, one revenant had just devoured one member, having eaten about 10 of its kind. Skulker, however, looked somewhat arrogant.
"Ha! These things are taking themselves out for us!" He said.
"Not good…" Danny said.
"What? Why not?" Skulker questioned with mild annoyance.
That's when Danny pointed to the creature, which clung to its stomach before it started growing.
In less than a minute, they were face to face with a large, hairy monster that was the size of a 4 story tall building.
While Danny was aware of what just happened, the four ghosts stared wide-eyed with mouths hanging open.
With one step, it caused the four standing to be elevated upward, causing them to remain in the air with their powers.
"That's why…" Danny said.
The giant, transformed wendigo took another step forward, knee buckling and hands opened at the side.
"Crush those spirits!" The Wendigo ordered, pointing ahead.
With that, the giant did as ordered, taking one large step head.
Seeing this creature coming towards him, Danny looked to the four.
"So… what do you say we have a truce?" He asks.
Skulker released his glowing blade out his wrist, Technus readied his staff, Ember held her guitar like an ax, and Desiree's hands glowed menacingly.
"For now…" Skulker said in a growl. "SLAY THAT BEAST!"
With that, the five flew at the giant that grabbed several trash cans with one hand and threw them at its prey.
Ember flew downward to avoid it, running towards her target. The giant swung its fist downward to crush her, only for her to do a slight twirl to avoid contact.
Pulling her guitar back, Ember swung her arms with enough force to make the giant lose its footing on its right foot. This caused it to fall on one knee.
Undaunted, it lifted its fist to grab the broken concrete from its punch. It then threw the debris in the air at those still in the air.
Reacting fast, Danny fired blasts at the debris, breaking them into smaller pieces. Desiree, meanwhile, used her power to proper Skulker at the creature. Though he was hit by a small piece of debris in the face, he still pulled his arm back.
"Take this, beast!" Skulker shouted before sending a punch.
The beast fell backward, landing with one elbow.
Technus, meanwhile, twirled his staff in his hand at a speed that caused him to lose control and see his weapon fly towards Skulker.
"Uh… oops…" Technus said.
Reacting fast, Danny blasted Skulker out of the way. This left the staff to hit the giant in the face, knocking onto its back.
With that taken care of, Danny, Desiree and Ember look up at the somewhat surprised technopath.
"Uh… nailed it!" He said with a thumb's up, pretending that was intentional.
As the others sent him questioning looks, Skulker got mad.
"You did that on purpose!" He shouted at Danny.
"What? Not like you'd have made it in time…" Danny half-heartedly defended his actions.
Before anything else could happen, the Wendigo was heard snickering.
"Not done yet. This growing boy is in need of a bigger meal."
With that, he snapped his fingers. A small horde of revenants surrounded the transformed beast, causing it to reach for them and grab them before stuffing them in its mouth.
Danny and the remains of the Revenge Squad watched in horror before he recalled what was about to happen.
"Uh oh…" He said.
As soon as it swallowed, the giant then grew by half its size, baring its teeth.
Before any more action could happen, Danny then noticed a snowflake falling in front of him. More of them followed, something not lost on the ghosts.
"Snow? At this time of year?" Technus asks.
"About time…" The Wendigo said with a grin. "I added a little extra just for you."
That's when the wind began to pick up, going from a small gust to a powerful gale.
"Uh… what's going on?!" Desiree questioned as she was starting to shiver, something she just noticed. "I'm cold? How is that possible?"
"With an outfit like that, you're surprised?" Technus questioned as he too held his arms close to avoid feeling cold.
"Same here…" Ember said, using her arms to do the same thing.
Skulker was heard breathing heavily, despite his body not showing any discomfort. This was justified, given he's inside a machine.
"It's even getting cold in here…" He said.
"I used this snow storm to cover up a good chunk of Canada to hunt… and now I'm pulling all that power into one smaller spot, this city. Now… get ready for temperatures in the 40's before it drops further and further. An early winter…" The Wendigo said before snapping his fingers to his giant's attention. "Get rid of those spirits, but bring the boy to me… in pieces preferably."
Ignoring the cold, Danny flew into the air to do battle, only for wind to make him start to lose balance and the freezing sensation to begin.
"I-I'm c-c-c-cold t-t-too?" He asks, shivering as forgot about the creature he was fighting. "B-b-b-b-but how? I have an i-"
He then saw the giant approaching, causing him to raise a shield in time. However, the beast raised a hand and backhanded Danny, shield included, deeper into the city. The best then followed him, intending to finish the job.
With that, the Wendigo grinned as he jumped over the four ghosts, intending to finish his revenge.
"If you don't mind… looks like I'm having my meal to go…" He said before a sinister laugh that followed up with him running after Danny.
This left what was left of the Revenge Squad to look at each other.
"I'm not letting my prey be that thing's supper!" Skulker said before turning on his jet wings and flying off as fast as he could.
Ember was left looking in the direction where Danny went with a tinge of concern before noticing Technus and Desiree were huddled close to her hair, using it for warmth.
"Really?" She asks angrily.
"We're cold!" They both whined as they resumed, much to her annoyance.
Downtown
Danny Phantom had landed in an intersection, creating a small crater that people were huddled around.
"Is he… dead or something?" One person asks.
"He's a ghost. He's already supposed to be dead…" Another said.
"No way!" Dash was heard crying out in distress.
"Let me through! I have to give him mouth to mouth or at least true love's kiss to help him!" Paulina was heard insisting.
That's when loud, cackling laughter was heard, followed by giant footsteps. Upon seeing what was coming, the crowd ran away in terror.
The giant arrived, having its master on his shoulder. Letting him down gently after placing his hand on the ground to crawl down, the giant stood back up.
The Wendigo crawled on all fours, enter the crater.
"Finally…" He said with a grin as he was above the unconscious Danny. "Dinner time…"
With that, his jaws slowly opened.
New chapter with thanks to Flower princess11.
Also, while I appreciate the tropes people add, I encourage you to please add more on the monster himself.
Luiz4200: Nope but I'm still using it.
Themetavoorhes1996: Hopefully they will without ending up eaten.
Invader Johnny: It looks as though the actual thing is too much for them, considering how easily he handled multiple ghosts.
RonaldM40196867: Dunno. Probably not. Because. Probably a lot but he's probably not a major character here. Dunno. To give Danielle friends. Yes, that was established in the last story. Maybe? Most likely. Wait and see. Probably.
danifan3000: Maybe but I personally don't see most of the ghosts he's fought turning over a new leaf. More likely because he's friends with Danny Phantom. Nah, she clearly uses female pronouns here. No bowling team... maybe.
Leonardo: That was just a cameo, but I do have plans for Kwan. Sam likely respects Maddie, though learns Maddie has her less than ideal thoughts on her.
Fiction Realm: Wait and see.
Guest 1: Perhaps.
SoundVenom: When a hero has a thing with a villain, someone always finds out.
Guest 2: Didn't have the time to bring that up. She will learn her lesson. Exactly. You can't choose who you fall for. No word on a second one.
Sledge: Maybe? Wait and see.
