Hi Readers: My apologies for the long delay between chapters, but I went out and had some fun today. More specifically, I went out to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour movie; and it was awesome! Best concert experience in my life, and I am so glad I went. But now, I have time to give you guys a bit more content (which you want); so, what do you say we get back to it. Here we go with some more.

Quick Note to Readers/Reminder: In the original version of this story (which is still posted), this story started with a road trip. I wanted to just remind you guys of that because there are some mentions of a road trip, which wasn't covered in this new version.

Chapter Nineteen
To Hell with It, I'll Stay Like This

His face was clean shaven once more, all thanks to his beautiful wife. To the woman he was crazy for, especially as they laid down close to one another side-by-side under the sheets; a feeling that was made even better by what Gabby decided to wear for her husband after he decided to wear nothing but his (tight) boxers for her as they cuddled in bed today. And just what might she be wearing? Well, that would be some sexy lingerie which Matt loves running his hands all over. Though, the truth was that he just liked running his hands all over Gabby if they were being honest with each other, which they are. They're being honest with each other, as that's part of marriage; marriage is a bond and union between two people who love and trust each other in good times and bad times, which involves being both very honest and open with each other. And that's precisely what Matt and Gabby were going to do, as they still needed to be quiet for the sake of their friends, who made it pretty clear to them that they're not interested in hearing them moan.

But, just how much they hear them moan when they're in the privacy of their room? Well, that would be through the air vents; due to the fact that they home as very good circulation, and not just for air. Rather, for sounds as well. And while it may not be the best for when they want to get sexy with each other (and have company over), it will come in handy when they have a baby. And that's due to the fact that they'll be able to hear them from any room in the house, even though they'll also be able to do that thanks to the baby monitor which they both know they're going to be getting. But they can worry about getting all of that set up another time, as them getting ready for their little girl isn't what Matt and Gabby have on their minds (nor is it the upcoming Holiday which they're about to celebrate in forty-eight hours). Rather, they were going to talk about a project which the couple are going to be starting in the new year. And no, they aren't talking about a family; they've already started that project. Rather, it was the company they decided to start.

Yes, you heard that right; Matt and Gabby have decided that they're going to start a company with the windfall of money they've come into recently, which comes with a lot of work. And it will also come with a lot of decisions which they need to make, decisions which will be made as a team; just like any decision that they make as parents for their daughter. But the decision at hand was not related to their daughter at the moment, as it was instead related to what industry their new business will be trying to get into. And at the moment, they were thinking of trying to do something related to first responders, regardless of the fact that there's a lot of people doing that. However, Gabby had a feeling that Matt won't be able to resist trying to get a piece of the action; so, they're just going to have to try and find a way to start out. And that's precisely what the couple are going to be talking about right now, while they enjoyed the nice pancakes which Camila just brought upstairs for the both of them; pancakes which Gabby didn't ask for, but really wanted.

And that's precisely why Camila brought them upstairs for her, as she knew that her daughter wanted them for brunch. "I hope that you enjoy the breakfast." Gabby agreed with her mom, smiling as she took a bite of the pancakes she had in her lap; meanwhile, Matt did the same and just smiled as he looked at his mother-in-law. "I have to say, these are really good." Camila smiled as Matt complimented her pancakes, knowing that he means it based on the way he spoke to her. "I am so glad that you like them, I just hope you know that I will always make you food if you want some." Gabby agreed with her mother and smiled, as she liked that idea. "Thanks mom." Camila agreed with her daughter. "I hope you feel better mija, as I know you had a hard night last night." Gabby agreed with her mother, as she did have a hard night last night. "Is that why you're going to bring us food?" Camila smiled and agreed. "Yes, so just take it easy and relax." Matt agreed with his mother-in-law as he smiled at her. "Thanks Camila." Camila smiled, nodding.

After all, she's more than happy to help. "I'm more than happy to help, especially if it means that my granddaughter grows faster." Turning his head, Matt looked at his wife and smiled. "I can't wait." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at him as they both took bites of breakfast; while Camila walked away so that she can just let them have time, something Matt and Gabby both appreciate. "I thought I was going to make you more food, but it seems like your mom beat me to it." Gabby agreed with her husband, smiling as that most certainly is the truth. After which, she took a bite while also turning to face Matt as they cuddled up to each other in bed a bit. "So, you want to talk about what we want to do when it comes to work?" Matt agreed with Gabby, as that was exactly what he wanted to talk about; especially since he needs to do it for his friend. That's just something he hasn't told his wife yet. "Listen, can I tell you something? About why I really want to talk about this now, rather than in the new year?" Gabby was a bit confused.

After all, she thought it was due to the fact that he wanted to talk about it just so that they can work on it; she didn't think that he needed a specific reason to talk about it. "You need a specific reason to talk to me about it?" Matt sighed as he looked at the woman he loves. The woman he already knows is going to help him in this venture, though he'd also love it if he could get his best friend's help. "Listen, I want to talk to you about Kelly." Gabby agreed with Matt, taking a breath. "You're still worried about him." Matt nodded as he took another bite of the pancakes. "It's also because of something I've been feeling of late. Something I saw ever since I told him that he can stay as long as he wants." Gabby agreed with her husband. "There was just this sense of…relief that he doesn't have a timeline here. He can stay for as long as he wants and doesn't need to rush back to work. Also, I feel like he wants to find a reason to stay; something which can keep him busy here in Hawaii, rather than have no job." Gabby then started to understand.

She understood what her husband was trying to tell her, which was that he wanted to start the company (at least the basics) so that he can present the idea to Severide as a way to get him to help him; he wants to have a general idea of what he wants to do (which is why he and Gabby need to talk), if he wants to tell Severide and try to convince him to leave Chicago behind (like he and Gabby did). However, they don't know what they're doing with the company yet; it's a lot to think about, and it's definitely on Matt's mind at the moment. So, it was one of the reasons why he wanted to talk to Gabby. "Listen, you want to wait until after we're done eating breakfast to talk about this? I would rather cuddle up to you and hold you close to give you reassurance that I'm listening to you and just be here for you. Well, that's what I want at least." Taking a bite of breakfast again, Matt nodded as that's precisely what he wants as well. "I love the sound of that." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, smiling as they both ate breakfast together.

If there was one thing that Gabby enjoyed about having her mother here, it was her cooking as it was truly divine and always made her happy when she ate her mom's food. However, there was one thing that never made her happy when she and Matt were alone and in their room, which was when Matt had a shirt on; not that she had to worry about him keeping his shirt on for long, as he wasn't going to keep it on for long. In fact, he was actually just wearing his shirt for a bit due to the fact that he had to go downstairs. But, just what died he do downstairs? Well, he brought his and Gabby's plates downstairs, prior to grabbing his laptop and bringing it upstairs in case they wanted to use it for brainstorming (or something else) related to the business. But right now, he was just going to get back in bed with the woman of his dreams; especially now that his laptop was set up on his side table, with it being plugged in and ready to go. However, when Matt turned his head he saw that Gabby wasn't exactly aware that he was back in their room.

Instead, she was staring outside as she thought about something; so, Matt decided that he had to do something before he could speak to her. And that would be to (a) take off his shirt and set it under his pillow, which he did the moment he thought about doing it; and (b) walk around their bed, so that he could be on Gabby's side of the bed when got in with her. That way, they were already facing each other when he climbed into bed. Now, that was going to be nice and comfortable; because him holding Gabby in his arms is always nice and comfortable, especially when she's pregnant with their child. And now, they're going to be doing just that with each other. But first, Matt needs to get Gabby's attention, which he now had as he walked up her side of the bed shirtless and in his boxers once more; only for him to realize that she wasn't wearing a shirt and that she was just wearing her underwear like him, rather than her lingerie. "Hey, I didn't hear you come back." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. "It actually seemed like you were in a daze and that you have a lot on your mind, is that what's going on right now baby?" Gabby sighed.

After all, there was no lying when it came to whether she had a lot on her mind; Matt would just be able to read her like an open book if she tried to lie that she didn't have a lot on her mind. After all, she did have a lot on her mind, and she wanted to talk to her husband about it. She just hopes they can talk about it, before they talk about the company they (may) want to create; but, she was nervous to suggest it (which is why she bit her lip). But after doing that for a moment, she decided to just come out and tell her husband what was on her mind. "Can we talk for a minute about the whole Severide thing, trying to get him and Stella to move here?" Matt agreed with his wife, as that's something that they most certainly can talk about; just as soon as he was in bed with her, which is where he's about to be as he opened the covers and climbed into bed with the woman of his dreams. The woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. The most beautiful, pregnant woman this world has ever seen. And as he placed his hands on her body, he smiled.

He smiled as he knew that he was holding both of his girls in his arms right now, while also bringing them both against his chest; his muscular chest, which Gabby loved the feeling of as she placed her hands on his chest. Meanwhile, Matt grabbed the covers and tugged the covers up on top of the both of them. And as he did that, he took a moment to stare into Gabby's eyes; and there was just something based on the way her eyes sparkled that made him wonder whether she really wanted to work on the company today. "Do you really want to work on the company today Gabby?" Taking a breath, Gabby looked at Matt. "I want to talk about the Kelly situation. I know you want to ask him to move here, but I just want to know why. I know, it's related to how his dad died. And how you don't think he can be in Chicago right now. But, him just staying for a while to grieve; and him moving here are two different things, especially since Stella is also trying to become a Lieutenant to take over Truck 81." Matt agreed with his wife.

After all, those things were all true; however, he could see some more things. Things like him starting to think that Kelly is like him a couple months ago. "Ok. I need you to hear me out." Gabby agreed with her husband, deciding to do just that. "I know that he just got here today, and we haven't spoken much here. But, based on the way we've spoken on the phone, what I already learned from Stella, and how he's been acting around here…I'm starting to wonder whether he's starting to feel like I did a while back. You know, how I started to feel like Chicago wasn't home for me; for us anymore." Gabby agreed with her husband as she placed her hand on his face, starting to understand. "Gabby, you know how much my mental health has improved here in Hawaii. Sure, it still has some trouble and I have those night terrors at time; but you also know that my mental health was worse in Chicago, because it's where Andy and Hallie died, where we lost both our first baby and Louie. And then, I almost lost you a couple times." Gabby agreed with her husband again.

She agreed with him because all of those facts were true, especially the parts where they almost lost each other a couple times. "And that's why I'm glad that we got out when we did, as I'm not sure what us staying would've done to us…" Taking a breath as he looked at his wife, Matt decided to be blunt and completely honest with her (which is what she wants him to do anyways). "Gabby, as much as I want to say that everything we did and talked about on the road trip was enough to have saved us if we stayed…" Taking a breath, Matt looked into Gabby's eyes. "I'm sorry." Gabby shook her head as Matt apologized for being honest with her. "Hey, I understand that you need to be honest with me Matt." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling at her. "I just hate what it implies." Gabby nodded. "I know what you mean." Taking another breath, Matt leaned in and kissed his wife softly; while at the same time, he also took another bite of breakfast. After all, he doesn't want to let their food get cold; because as much as he wants to talk, he also needs to eat.

They decided to delay the conversation that they were in the midst of having until after they finished breakfast, until after Matt brought their plates downstairs, which is precisely what he just finished doing as he made his way back into his and Gabby's room and closed the door behind him. After all, they want to get some alone time with each other, where they can talk and just concentrate on each other as they continued the conversation that they were having before they finished breakfast. And now, that's precisely what they're going to do as Matt walked back over to bed. "I made sure to tell your mom that breakfast was delicious." Gabby agreed with Matt, smirking. "Was that your way to get her to ignore the fact that you were in boxers?" Matt snickered, as it most certainly was. "You know me too well." Gabby agreed with her husband, smiling as he made his way over to their bed; leaning over Gabby, Matt smiled as he placed his hand on her neck and leaned in to kiss her softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at her man.

The man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you too. Now, I think I have a request from my wife to join her in bed?" Gabby smiled, agreeing with her husband as she did want him in bed; she wants to cuddle up to Matt as they continued this conversation. And that's precisely where Matt was now in the midst of getting as he slipped close to Gabby, while also closing the covers on top of the both of them; placing his hand on her hip afterwards, Matt smirked as he made sure to bring Gabby close to him before kissing her softly. Meanwhile, Gabby placed one of her hands on his face, as well as the other on his arm as they took things nice and slow with each other; and damn did she love the feeling of Matt's soft lips on hers. "God, I am so glad that you're back. I want to just hold you close like this today." Matt agreed with his wife, smiling as he had a feeling that was the case. "I had a feeling that was the case." Gabby smiled, agreeing with her husband as he said that. After all, they both know that they want.

And what they want most is to get through this conversation, while also being okay at the end of the day; something which Matt already knows they will be due to the fact that they love each other. They love each other day and night and will always love each other day and night. And now that they were both all cuddled up to each other in bed, Matt was more than ready to talk. Starting with the fact that she was nervous at the moment. "You're nervous." Taking a breath, Gabby agreed with her husband as she was nervous at the moment. "Yeah, I am." Matt nodded, agreeing with the woman of his dreams. "Well, I can tell you that you have nothing to worry about due to the fact that everything is fine. And as long as we're in this life together, then everything will be fine." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling as she grabbed the back of his head and leaned in so that she could kiss him softly. "I love you so much." Matt agreed. "I do too. Now, are we going to continue this conversation? Or are you going to get all stressed out on me?"

Gabby shook her head, as that was the last thing she was going to do. She wasn't going to get stressed out, as that isn't good for their daughter. "Not when that isn't good for our little girl." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves again. "So, where were we in this conversation?" Taking a breath, Gabby decided to slip even closer to Matt and slipped her legs in between his; placing her hands on Matt's chest, Gabby stared into his eyes and smiled. "We were talking about how Hawaii saved us." Matt agreed with his wife. "Yeah, I know that it sounds bad but…" Grabbing the back of Matt's head, Gabby leaned in and kissed her husband as she agreed. "I feel the same way." Matt was surprised. "Really?" Gabby nodded. "I've been doing some soul searching recently, and I think it's why I ran away to Puerto Rico." Matt sighed. "At least this time, we ran away together." Gabby agreed, as that's the truth. "Because that's where we need to be in this life, we need to be together in a place where we're happy."

Matt sighed, as that was the truth. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that us having all those bad memories in Chicago didn't help." Gabby agreed with her husband. "The truth is, at the end…it didn't feel like home anymore. If anything, it felt like hell on earth." Agreeing with his wife, Matt nodded as he understood why she said that. "A lot of reminders of all the fights we had there, and all the bad things that happened to us." Gabby agreed. "Especially how we had that miscarriage, which is the last thing I want to be reminded of while I'm pregnant." Matt sighed when Gabby mentioned that. "Is that on your mind right now, when you think about Chicago? How you're scared that, if we go back, it could happen again?" Gabby agreed with her husband, as that was true. "And what it would do for our marriage." Wrapping his arm around Gabby even tighter, Matt brought his wife right against him while rubbing her back; meanwhile, Gabby wrapped her arms around his shoulders as they both held each other close here in the comfort of their bed.

Meanwhile, Matt thought about what Gabby just told him. How she thought she could loose another baby if they were still in Chicago while she was pregnant, and how it may even cost them their marriage; just the thought of that was heartbreaking to him, as it was the last thing he wanted Gabby to be thinking about right now. The last thing he wanted her to think about while she's pregnant with their child, as it was just so heartbreaking. "Just hearing you say that Gabby is heartbreaking. How you worry about loosing our baby there in Chicago, it breaks my heart. Why didn't you tell me you felt that way?" Gabby sighed as she leaned back and stared into Matt's eyes, while also placing her hand on his face. "I thought that if I ignored that feeling, that it would never happen." Leaning his forehead against Gabby's, Matt agreed with his wife before leaning in and kissing the woman of his dreams. "I promise Gabby, we're going to be parents. I'm positive when it comes to that." Gabby smirked and agreed with her husband as she held him close.

After which, Matt kissed her again and just smirked as Gabby is so damn sexy when she lays down close to him like this; it just makes him love her more each and every day. "God, I love you so much; I hope you know that Gabby, and that I'm glad that you're my wife." Gabby agreed with her husband, as she most certainly knows that; especially since she feels the same way about Matt. She's very happy that he's her husband, as she loves him more than anything. He's truly the man of her dreams, and the only man she could ever seen herself spending the rest of her life with. And that's precisely what she's going to do, she's going to spend the rest of her life in Matt's arms as his wife. "So, you want to go back to talking about the business now? The business we're going to start in our new home?" Gabby smiled, as she loved the sound of Matt calling Hawaii home; because that's precisely what Hawaii is now, it's their home. "I love the sound of you calling Hawaii home." Matt agreed with Gabby, smirking as he felt the same way about it.

He's happy to call Hawaii home, as that's what it is now. "This is our home now, where we're going to start everything fresh…including our business. So, what are you thinking when it comes to what we want to do?" Gabby took a breath. "Ok. I know this sounds crazy, but I was thinking of doing a clothing line?" Matt smiled, as he liked the idea of that. "I can see you doing that, as you're quite creative baby." Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she really loves her husband. "And what are you thinking when it comes to a name?" Gabby laughed as Matt asked her that question, as there was no other name that she can use for her part of the company. "I mean, I am a Casey now; so, wouldn't it make sense that the name of my part of the company is Casey something?" Matt agreed with his wife. "So, either Casey Apparel or Casey Clothing?" Gabby smiled, as she had another name. "I was thinking Casey Creations, as I don't want to limit myself to clothes. I may want to expand to jewelry or stuff in the future." Matt smiled, as he can see Gabby doing that.

However, what he didn't expect was another one of her ideas. "However, I may also experiment with Dawson Apparel or Dawson Creations." Matt was surprised when he heard Gabby say that. "You want to use your maiden name for your project?"
