"Woo-hooo tomorrow's my big day, my bar mitzvah meaning I'll be an adult." a voice yelled excitedly
It happened to belong to a twelve-year old male-kit who wore VE goggles on his furry head in his room wearing a shirt with Spkatoon stuff on it which was large sized with trousers but RJ was excited because tomorrow was his thirteenth birthday but alsi his bar mitzvah as being Jewish, it meant he was becoming a man which made the male-kit excited and had been at Temple eariler for the rehearsal which had made Nebula, Rocket and his grandfather, Rocket Senior chomed up not realisibg they were sad he was growing up feeling excited feeling his phone buzzing as it was Rockai while Nebula was ordering dinner seeing her and Rocket's younger kits Peanut, Lylla, Miko, and Terra running aroubd excited for tomorrow seeing Rocket Senior get it, as he'd seen the cake for his lil smore's birthday, only Nebula had kept this hidden from them along with sone of his gifts which she knew he was looking forward to, impressed he hadn't went looking for presents knowing kids did this.
"Rocket you okay, as you've been quiet all day when people were asking RJ about tomorrow." Nebula asked hearing Rocket sighing as he could hear RJ talking to Rockai excitedly about tomorrow but felt his birth-dad's paw on his furry shoulder getting his attention noticing Rocket seemed sad, that RJ was growing up and had been embarrassed of him like tuck in tine when he'd been talking to Rockai plus he might be a late-bloomer with things his peers were havihg happen to them like Rockai as his voice was still squeaky and had no zits, or his big claws which made the twelve year old upset ashe knew raccoon kids got their big claws when they hit puberty which he'd learnt from nature shows
"I know he's growing up but he's still my lil smore." Rocket replied tearfully as Rocket Senior understood wrapping his big furry arms aroubd him in a hug, which Nebula saw along with their younger kits because the food was here seeing RJ joining in the hug which made Rocket have hope they could be friends, even if he was getting older and they butted heads you know."
"Maybe he's nervous about tomorrow too, as he only invited Rockai which is weird, I thought he had more friends you know." Rocket told Nebula when helping with the dishes seeing her nodding guessing their big kit might not have a lot of friends at middle-school besides Rockai hearing RJ giggling playing with his sibs for a bit, to help get their energy out for bedtine which Nebula and Rocket appreciated along with Rocket Senior seeing their younger kits getting tired, seeing RJ on the couch examining his paws.
"Nope, still no big claws." he muttered softly which Rocket heard sighing.
"Ohhhh bubbelah I know you're wanting yoyr big claws like other kits but your body will change in tine so be patient okay." he told him sitting beside him on the couch which Rocket was enjoying knowing tomorrow would mean more family tine hearing the younger kits were ready for bed meaning tuck in tine seeing Rocket get up off the couch heading to their bedroom singing the song he sang at this time of day which they loved asking for him to domit again.
"You guys need yohr rest for tomorrow sibce it'sgonna be a fun but big day." he said kissing their furry heads and putting on the nightlight before leaving their room closing the door gently checking on RJ who was wearing his VR goggles and doing a fist bump making Rocket sigh, remembering what Nebula had taught him how to get RJ's attention when he had his goggles on, tapping his furry shoulder.
"Ohhhhhh hey pops am I being too loud." he asked him.
"No, you're not but it's getting late and you have a big day and birthday tomorrow." Rocket said seeing the teenaged kit nodding pulling up his VR goggles yawning rubbing his eyes blinking them after playing VR for the last few hours after dinner knowing what his dad wanted to do, guessing that he would stop doing it after tomorrow so let him.
"Thanksbuddy as you growing up scares me." Rocket told him.
"Dad you have my sibs oh and Rockie 3 you're acting like I'm moving oht, when puberty evades me." RJ said
That next morning, RJ was up before everybody else in the house was but taking a shower and getting dressed for the day ahead knowing it was going to be awesome humming. He was tempted to put on his VR goggles and play forca bit knowing that Rockai was still sleeping but listening to music on headphones while waiting for his family to wake up or watching YouTube on his tablet, until he heard knocking on hisdoor grinning opening ut seeing his dad and Nebula there saying breakfast was ready going downstairs.
"Groot Morning pancakes with ice-cream for breakfast, awesome, thanks guys." he told them making Nebula and Rocket grin seeing Rocket Senior there dressed drinking coffee and having pancakes seeing the younger kits enjoying the ice-cream making Nebula and Rocket guess that they'd be full of energy for to the day making Rocket Senior chuckle at them being hyper hoping they'd calm down in Temple as they had to go making RJ excited, asking if Rocket the Third was coming making Nebula and Rocket exchange a grin, knowing he'd ask this.
"Yes, he's family but give him space like always." Rocket told him.
"Okay but we like hanging out." RJ replied to him making Rocket sigh.
"Sonebody doesn't remember ohr taljs about personal space." Rocket told him.
Rocket Senior chuckled as they were leaving for Temple but happy seeing his family including Herbert, Rocket the Third with his sibs along with Rocke and Juilet and Rockai making his furry cheeks go pink seeing Rockai making Rocket chuckle.
"Let's get this bar mitzvah started, you know." he toldhim.
"Uh-huh tine to become a man." RJ told him.
