Day 1 (October 15)

Prompt: The Matrix / Underworld

Battling Monsters in Hell (Or, At Least, Some Version of It)

Getting captured by Quintessons alongside his rival and crash-landing on an uninhabited planet was the last thing on his mind. Discovering that said planet was, in fact, inhabited but the natives were all a bunch of Cybernetic monsters all thought to have either been extinct or of legend was certainly unexpected.

Despite how fascinating this all was, he was stuck with a mech who had fought him countless of times in the past and could kill him at any time if he so desired.

Granted, his enemy, now partner felt the same way regarding him...

...Anyways...Since neither he nor his companion were familiar with the planet nor its inhabitants, they found themselves begrudgingly working together in order to survive.

Rivalry turned into understanding, to friendship, and to something...more...

Which led them here:

Megatron took cover behind a boulder as a hydra-esque monster shot a ray plasma fire out of one of its maws. The Warlord was covered in multiple scars and dents, the worst of them being a rather large scar on his chest where his spark chamber was located, the crushed thrusters around his legs, and his left arm with the damaged but still intact Fusion Cannon and torn off pauldron. His T-Cog had been damaged in the crash, so he was unable to transform and fly away.

Suddenly, a second head from the hydra whipped around the corner of the boulder and launched itself at Megatron, jaws open. The mech barely avoided getting his head bitten off by jumping as far away as he could from the boulder; just as he did that, the first head smashed the boulder that he was using as a shield just a few seconds ago into pieces.

Megatron shouted when the third head bit down and tried to tear off his right arm. He blasted the head with his Fusion Cannon in order to get the beast off of him before pulling out his swords and slashed at the first two heads. While not enough to slice the hydra's heads off, the swords successfully managed to injure the beast as all three heads pulled back and roared in pain.

Throughout all this, he didn't see the fourth and final head sneaking up behind him.

Without warning, the fourth head screeched in surprise as someone else attacked it. Megatron turned towards the sound and watched Ultra Magnus leap down and slammed the Magnus Hammer in the center of the monster's head. The Supreme Commander was missing his left optic, right servo torn off in a previous battle and replaced with a crudely constructed claw, the armor covering his jaws had been blow off and left him a grinning skeleton, and his back and chest were covered in scars. Ultra's T-Cog had been damaged as well and the missile packs on his back were empty.

The third head regained its strength and tried to bite Ultra but the mech was quick to claw that one in the face. The first two attempted to assist the other two but Megatron quickly intervened, blasting each of them in the face. The hit rang true, as the blast took out the second head's eye and the monster reared back in pain. With the beast distracted, Ultra and Megatron took the chance to find some cover behind some boulders.

For a few seconds, it was just the of the two mechs heavy breathing and the hydra whimpering in pain.

But it was Megatron who broke the silence. "What took you so long?" he said with a hint of annoyance.

Ultra glared at him. "You try fighting off five shadow bots and some Demonic version of a Eukarian Dinobot on your own and see how that goes, Decepticon!" he snarled.

"...Touché," replied Megatron, admitting defeat. He glanced up and saw a shadow-like figure floating in the air, watching them. He couldn't make out what it was, but one thing he knew for sure:

Megatron did not like what he was staring at. In fact he didn't even want to look at it! There was just something horribly off about that...thing!

Just like there was something off about this section of the planet.

"Ultra..." Megatron finally spoke after a few minutes, "What...what is that?!" pointing at the creature.

The Magnus looked up and froze. "You're...seeing it now too?"

"W-What?!" the Warlord exclaimed. "What do you mean you've already seen it?! Why didn't you say anything?!"

"I spotted it the moment I awoke here," Ultra began. "And it's been following us since then. I thought I was hallucinating!"

"Which is why you didn't say anything."

The Autobot nodded and averted his gaze from the shadow figure. "But, now that you're seeing it and I'm not crazy, so unless this some mass delusion, I don't even want to look at it."

"I share the same sentiment. There's just something wrong about that thing."

"There's something wrong with this section of the planet!"

Their last battle with a Driller resulted in the ground opening up beneath them and sending them down here. The place was devoid of any and plant life, the trees nothing but empty husks and the plants dead and decayed. Not even some of the "animals" they saw were really "alive". The sky was a blood-red color with some hints of black and orange. The rivers and lakes were a reflection of the sky. Every now and then, the two bots would see brief glimpses of shadow-like beings; they didn't say anything because shadows creatures disappeared as soon as they appeared. Everything was dead quiet for the most part, with the exception of phantom screams and whispers.

Megatron briefly poked his head out to see what the hydra was up to. Aside from the four heads, the dragon was massive, black and red colored animal with three pairs of legs and five tails. The creature was a Techno-Organic monster capable of flight by using two pairs of bat-like wings and could spew out streams of plasma fire that could melt a bot's armor. Each head was adorned with differently curved spikes and there were spines that went from it's neck all the way to the end of it's tails. The armor was thick and was very difficult to pierce it, the only weaknesses being it's faces and necks. What's worse was that the hydra seemingly had strong, regenerative properties that allowed it to heal it's wounds.

Which didn't fair well for them.

Megatron ducked back behind the boulders to speak with his partner. "So, what so we do?"

Ultra stared at the mech flabbergasted, "Do-do I look like I know what to d-!"

The Magnus had stopped speaking and stared ahead. Megatron looked in his partner's direction and gasped.

Something was standing near the edge of the dead forest. The creature looked vaguely humanoid but upon closer inspection, it was Cybertronian. It's armor looked frail, like it hadn't have taken good care of itself, and was missing in multiple places. It's blue optics were very dull. Energon covered it's arms and razor sharp teeth. The most prominent feature about this monstrosity was the pair of large, dear-like antlers on it's head.

Megatron instantly knew what it was. "A Wendigo? But, that's impossible! Wendigos are an Earth based legend; specifically, a Native American legend. What the hell is it doing here?"

"The real question is: how the hell does this planet know about that thing?!" Ultra exclaimed.

Then, without warning, the hydra smashed the boulders that Megatron and Ultra Magnus were hiding behind. The Autobot was the first to react, grabbing the larger mechs arm and pulling him out of the way. The both landed on the ground with grunts but their weapons remained in servo. They quickly stood up as the hydra and the Wendigo drew closer to them. The two mechs stood back to back, plotting their next move.

"Didn't think you cared so much about me, darling~!" said a sly Megatron with a smirk, glancing back at the smaller mech.

"This is not the time to be flirting, Megatron," said Ultra Magnus, rolling his remaining optic but not bothering to hold back a slight blush. He grew serious before addressing his partner again. "You take the deer. I have a score to settle with Ghidorah here."

"Very well, Ultra," responded Megatron before he launched himself at the Wendigo. The two clashed, antlers and swords fighting for supremacy.

Ultra Magnus and the hydra stared each other down. Ultra charged himself and the Magnus Hammer with electricity while hydra prepared itself to pounce on the mech. They charged.

Yep, I'm gonna try and participate in TF Rare Pairing Fest 2023 with the MegaMags pairing. I've been wanting to do this since I came across the event last year (Hell, I just might write something using the prompts from last year, with MegaMags of course). Unlike Kinkformers Animated, all of the stories will be posted into one fic since the themes aren't as various and wild as Kinktober.

Speaking of Kinformers Animated: I know, it's been over a while since I last posted something for it but work has been crazy and I've honestly had a difficult time writing some of them. Just be patient please.

For those of you who are on DeviantArt, FanFiction, Quotev, and Wattpad: Kinkformers Animated is exclusive to AO3 due to the content featured in those stories.

The inspiration for this originally came from a series of MeGop comics on Tumblr in which Megatron and Optimus crash land on an unknown planet and were forced to work together in order to survive. It has been a long time since I last came across that comic so I've forgotten both what it was called and who the original artist was. I've actually had an idea for a fic like this for awhile involving MegaMags but this is the first time I've actually written anything for it. If I were to ever revisit this idea, I'd make sure that it wouldn't rip-off the MeGop comic and create something else. Secondary inspiration hails from "Arcee and the Isle of the Allspark" by Tigressa101, mainly for the monster-fighting part; it's a good fic and a pretty cool concept for an open-world Transformers game so go give it a read.

At the time of writing this, I had fallen pretty deep in the rabithole that is . The description of the underworld was inspired by games such as Nightmare Universe, Spirits of Hell, and of course the original game; further inspiration hails from NES Godzilla Creepypasta.

The Cybertronian Wendigo is based on its description from Native American legend; the antlers come from it's mainstream self. Also, Ultra was originally going to call the Wendigo "Bambi" but then I decided against it.

Along with Transformers, the Godzilla series is among my main fandoms so i just had to thrown in that Ghidorah reference.
