The helicopter ride here had been a lot calmer than she had expected. Aside from a scant few thugs trying to take pot shots at it, they hadn't come across any real obstacles. No artillery, tanks, or anti-air weaponry at all. Just a few whirls of the machine gun had silenced what little they had to deal with. Yes, it was a smooth flight.
That's what worried Rin Nanagami the most. Perhaps she was overthinking it. No doubt the city was in such chaos most of the thugs and academies had thrown their best weapons in thin lines. They must have passed one of those 'thinner' lines or they were just lucky. Luck was not something she believed in but she couldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. If they had made it, they had made it. Simple as that.
It didn't stop her from worrying though. She couldn't help but wring her white gloved hands together as they neared their destination. What if those thugs called in some heavy support? No doubt one of them may have seen the logo GSC on the side. A lot of them would want to shoot her down just to vent some frustration. Not to mention she barely had much of any personnel with her on this trip. Just a pilot.
A single pilot.
That's all she had to spare in order to get to this location as quickly as possible. A part of her cursed going out in her official attire in case they went down. Blending in white, form fitting clothes and coat which was a stable of the General Student Council would be impossible. Not unless she was dealing with complete idiots. Then again, that wasn't uncommon in Kivotos. She sighed and pushed a strand of her black hair back over her elvish ears. Her blue eyes looked out the window.
Kivotos was normally a beautiful city. The Academic City. A place where thousands of such places of learning came together for a better and brighter future for its students. That was the ideal.
A large explosion could be seen in the distance. Two more followed.
Explosions and chaos weren't however foreign to Kivotos. The people of this vast city were durable and free spirited. A combination that meant all too often conflicts led to gun fights. That being said, it was usually controlled to a measure. Now though, there was nothing stopping a full blown war breaking out. Which, honestly, the city was already broiled in one.
All because the Student Council President disappeared. In a week, the place had gone to chaos without her guiding hand. She cursed how easily students and former students would fall to temptation. Then again, she shouldn't be. That was just how the people here worked. Even the most prim and proper of academies like Trinity were not exempt from all of this nonsense.
"Vice president," a slightly younger teenage girl called back. "We're almost to the landing zone. No enemy spotted so we should be in the clear."
"Good," Rin nodded.
She could worry about her missing friend another time. She had spent a week panicking and searching for her anyways. Not a trace. She could postpone that search for a bit. That went especially so since this location's coordinates were given to her by said President that was missing anyways.
'Follow the map and the instructions once you get there. You'll soon meet a good friend who will help you.'
There was more to it, but it didn't matter. She would meet this 'Sensei' and hopefully he would have answers for her. Maybe he could tell her what happened to the President or at least help fix this mess. That would be nice.
As soon as the helicopter landed, Rin was out on the ground. The destination had been in the middle of nowhere. She idly wondered why the President would pick such a place. Then again, maybe its inconspicuous location was the point. You wouldn't think there was something important here. It still irked Rin that whatever her colleague and friend had thought up wasn't just in the main building. It would have been so much simpler that way.
Then again, she was also agitated she couldn't get a hold of Kaya. She must have been running around with her hands full with handling the Valkyrie Academy's forces. Understandable but a point of frustration. It would have been nice to have some extra guns around. Maybe they could contact a nearby unit after whatever she was about to do was done. She did hear some shouts on the radio when they were getting close.
The pilot had turned off the helicopter and walked out behind her. She was wielding a single pistol. Not much but an extra gun was just nice to have in general. She was a thin girl with light greenish hair. A moth pin was tucked away nicely in her short hairdo.
Rin idly remembered her name was Lea Mosura.
The building itself wasn't anything to speak about. It looked like an old factory that hadn't seen use in years. The inside was barren. None of the machines that made whatever they were making here were present. Probably moved to another location or were just scrapped entirely. She didn't care which.
She pulled out the paper and mulled over it.
"Is there something wrong, Miss Vice President." Lea asked, nervously fidgeting in place as they came to a stop.
"Just trying to get a handle on the instructions," Rin muttered in reply.
She put down the paper and eyed the strange circle in the middle of the floor. She walked closer and saw it was highly detailed in a pattern she had never seen before. The President's note had said it was important and hard to miss. If it was, why was it left out in the open? That was a curiosity that the letter also answered.
Basically only those with the right words could do anything with it. Rin grumbled. That sounded exactly like the Shittim Chest. More passwords and safeguards. Rin idly wondered if the President trusted anyone in the city with how much she kept to herself. She was a little hurt by that but she let that slide. When, and she meant when, she found her, Rin was going to give her a piece of her mind about trust.
She went right to the circle. Then she put up a hand and gestured for the pilot to stand back. She wasn't sure what was going to happen and she wasn't going to endanger an innocent life when she didn't have to. She took in a deep breath. She was going to do something silly and she was for once glad she didn't have a large audience at the moment.
Then she spoke:
"I call forth heroes from outside time.
Let you come forth in body and mind.
Answer my plea and appear forthwith.
Let the search of paradise come anew.
I hereby declare.
An oath shall be sworn here!
Let Kivotos be your new home.
Let our bond grow and prosper.
Let us bear the koan of Jericho.
Let us long for the seven wailings.
Come forth from the ring of restraints,
Protector of this new world!"
As she spoke, power started to emulate from the strange symbol. It was slow at first. Just a glowing visage but it started to grow brighter and brighter as the chant went on. The pilot gulped, pistol at the ready if something went wrong. Hopefully nothing did. She was trained to pilot a flying vehicle, not ground combat. She cursed herself for not taking the day off when she wanted to.
Suddenly, there was a bright flash. It momentarily blinded the two Kivotosans. Their arms moving up to block it before it died down. Rin lowered her arms before she took in what had happened. Her eyes widened when she did.
Standing in front of her was a large man. An actual man! You didn't see any of them in Kivotos proper. He was wearing a military uniform of some sort. She had never seen one gold sculpture images on his white leg pants. Nor how it looked a couple of centuries out of date with the shoulder flat shoulder pads and frill coming from the neckpiece. A red and gold sash was thrown around his shoulder to the side. A silver medal of some sort proudly worn on his coat. He had a black coat over a red shirt that was buttoned all the way up. His brown hair was spikey and came down around his face to the end of a short beard. There was nothing on his face proper outside of that. His rather handsome face.
Rin had to admit she was slightly blushing checking him out. How could she not? He was well built obviously and those clothes didn't exactly hide it. Nor did his charismatic smile cause her heart to 'not' stir like crazy.
"Well little lady," the man grinned. A gold halo with five points that held a bow inside of it floated above his head, "You've summoned in the flesh the man of possibilities! A herald of rainbows and hero of humanity. The great and powerful Napoleon! I'll bring you victory at every turn."
Hello everyone. Now I know I have a lot of stories on my plate right now, but I've been having a serious bit of writer's block. So I wanted to try and write something to help. Low and behold, I've came up with this. I've been playing Blue Archive for a good few months now and I love this game. So why not combine it with the other gacha/series I love? I hope you all enjoy this and I can't wait to read your comments.
