friends keep secrets. That's what keeps us close.
With an engagemt ring on her Davis had no doubt in her mind that her future was set in stone.
She had her parents back in her life. Thanks to her future husband.
She had left Tree Hill after high school and never returned.
What brought her back was Nathan and Haley reaching out to her.
As she stepped off the plane and headed into the small town.
Staring out the window of the passenger seat.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay in town with you.?" The man asked.
"Not at all. This is a brief and temporary visit." Brooke stated matter of fact.

Brooke stared at her room. She scanned her contact list on her cellphone.
She barely recognized the contacts. These people weren't friends.
She worked with them. Went out with them.
But none of them knew her in a real way.
And she was okay with that. Her business life and personal life didn't collide.

Lucas Scott stared at his brother and best friend with his eyes wide.
"Tell me that you didn't call her?"
"You had no reason or right to do that!" Lucas exclaimed.
"She's her best friend Luke. Brooke has a right to be here." Haley replied.

When i drove into town and started walking around. I felt various eyes on me.
But that didn't affect me the way they all expected. I was a soon to be bride. To a man who was going to give what i had wanted all of my life.
Safety. Security. Comfort. No relationship was perfect.
She didn't pay attention to the tabloids or blogs. She was going to be a country club wife. With a summer house.
He was going to take care of her. He had all the means to do that. He insisted once they were married she quit working all together.
And Brooke didn't refuse. It made perfect sense especially once they started having kids. Which they hadn't fully figured out yet.

"I don't want Brooke to know. Not now or ever. It wouldn't change anything." Peyton said. Looking to Lucas.
Who agreed without reservation. He hadn't seen or spoken to Brooke in 5 years now.
After getting a text from Nathan to meet at Peyton's. Brooke showed up.
She knocked on the door and was let inside.
She was overcome with various feelings seeing all her old friends. Together in one place.
Her heart jumping to her throat at the sight of a heavily pregnant Peyton.
And Lucas there. The two could barely look each other in the eyes.
